Great service and attitude by all the staff, lovely grounds. Unfortunately the afternoon tea was underwhelming. We had to return the first plate of sandwiches because the bread was stale. 2nd plate that came out was better but we could tell the bread was not fresh and still quite dry. The scones were dense, dry and the sweet plate had clearly not been made in the kitchen but been brought in. Just very disappointed as I’d expected a higher standard of food. It was not busy so the chefs should not have been overwhelmed, just a poor effort really and won’t be returning. I’ve just seen someone else’s similar review so it’s a shame no improvements had been made by the time we visited.

Lovely place to stay. Comfortable room. Lovely helpful staff. Views of the park are stunning. A wedding was being set up at 6.30am outside. So the couple could be assured that everything was set up on time.

What wonderful staff!!! Ben helped us sort out keeping a wedding cake cool for 24 hours while Jack kept the mother of the groom calm....an amazing location for a wedding with food to match. Rooms are extra comfortable, so what more can anyone ask?

Went for an afternoon tea which was lovely with very good service. Just dropped a point because the building and entrance was very dull with no flowers, comfortable seating etc.

I visited for afternoon tea and unfortunately it was the worst one I have tried, the bread was stale the whole thing was just very disappointing and we didn’t eat 98% of it. I said to the waiters that it was just too stale etc and they just said ok. They didn’t offer a refund etc so I paid for nothing and ended up leaving out of frustration.

Always such a wonderfully decadent place to visit, my only gripe is the shower/bath in room 19 is far too awkward suggest ripping out bath and replacing with a shower only. Notwithstanding we will stay again

Set in the Sussex countryside the hotel sits in beautiful grounds, my daughter wanted a lovely afternoon tea for her hen party and they provided a beautiful room, lovely food and fantastic staff. They had a great afternoon of tea, cake and sandwiches with plenty to take home afterwards.

The hotel was great, had a wedding yesterday on the 30th and really was entertaining and happy. the rooms were very fancy and the service was great!! Location was great since it was on a hill with magnificent views but the drive to get there is insane because you have to go through very narrow roads. A one lane road yes.

Wow. Attended a friends wedding at this marvellous venue. The architecture is incredible as are the grounds. The staff are A class and worked tremendously hard without fault. Marc, Master of Ceremonies, truly is a Master! He was fabulous. He remembered each guest in their own right, ensuring every person had the best experience they could. The Bride and Groom were treated as the Prince and Princess they deserved to be treated as. The food was amazing. We had lamb that melted in the mouth, dauphinois potatoes cooked to perfection and an array of beautiful vegetables. The starter and pudding were of equal quality and perfection. We didn’t stay the night but so wish we had. But we will! Thank you Marc, and your amazing team, for the most fabulous, brilliant day with the most professional and friendly team. We really couldn’t have asked for more

Attended Buxted Park Hotel for a wedding and reception May 2024. Truly beautiful hotel and grounds. Original features and decor. The ground are just stunning. Staff friendly and efficient. The head of house, Marc, has an exceptional personality and presentation. He made a special wedding even more special and charming. He helped to create a precious atmosphere and charmed all of the guests. He was respectful to all Of his staff and ensured the bride and groom were treated with gentle respect and like royalty all day and evening. Also ensuring the less physically abled guests were supported to access different areas, with minimum fuss. The food at the wedding reception was delicious and presented very well. I’m dropping one star very very reluctantly. This is purely because toilet facilities/rest rooms were hard to find and appeared to be not readily available. Maybe they were they somewhere on the ground floor but just not clearly signposted or marked on the doors. A lot of wedding guests were asking each other where the facilities were.

We went for afternoon tea for my mums birthday. The food was amazing, and all the different varieties of tea were so good. I highly recommend going. We're already planning our next visit for the summer so we can walk the grounds.

I've not been in the hotel, but the grounds are great for walking the dog, although not great when it's been raining, as can be quite a quagmire.

I only saw the hotel from the outside, but I walked enough in the Park and I must say that it is absolutely worth it, if only to admire at least 2 extraordinary plants: an oak and a giant sequoia, trees that you can't get inside get tired of admiring, right before the small lake in the clearing coming from the hotel. Something you can't forget

Took my mum here on Mother's Day for afternoon tea. Unfortunately the experience wasn't as I had hoped, for £39pp we were sat next to the main doors facing a wall, there was absolutely no atmosphere in the room and the food was really poor. Sandwiches had little filling in them, they were so thin. Scones and Patisserie cakes were okay. Not offered any refills of tea/prosecco. Really disappointing and expensive afternoon tea, especially at £131.64 for 3 people!!

Buxted Park Hotel is just the best. We were married here, 10 years ago this year. It was the most wonderful day. The venue is gorgeous & the staff are just the loveliest of people. We have enjoyed many an afternoon tea over the years here but the Covid pandemic put a stop to that because of the vulnerability risk. Wanting to get our lives back again, we hoped to book a stay for our anniversary this year. Again, the staff were great with dealing with all my questions & were flexible & kind. We were able to visit on a quiet day in January to look at a room on the ground floor. We were given all the information needed & they took their time with us. This really is the hotel to stay at if you want to feel looked after. This was our first venture out & the staff made us feel comfortable & safe. We even saw our Master of Ceremonies who welcomed us so warmly. A huge thank you to Marc, Francesco, Andrea & Natali for all your kindness. It’s very much appreciated. We have booked to stay & can not wait. We also returned for an afternoon tea for my birthday which was just the best day. Again, the empathy to our situation & the kindness shown to us, is just incredible. Thank you Buxted Park Hotel.

We had a brilliant lunch here today. The food was all delicious - far better than a lot of meals we’ve had in Italy. The namesake Poco pasta was particularly good. Some lovely local Sussex sparkling wine. The staff were really friendly and welcoming too. We had our 5 month baby with us which doesn’t usually get you the warmest reception but they were very hospitable. Would highly recommend!

The holy Trinity Church in the entire congregation have been so wonderful to me until today I was just turned away for being 10 minutes late I'm just trying to get some bus passes to be able to get back and forth to my new job I have no way to get there and no money for an Uber I was told that there's no one to call that the time is over and I am out of luck I was brushed off without even a second thought by Peter who answers the phones in the door I even called to try to speak to someone else to see if there was any way I could get any help and I was told know there is no one to call. I find this so hard to believe. never know what they're going through
