I emailed Carly as I had previously been at lunch time and had a Brie and Bacon Panini and wondered if I could have one early evening. She was very helpful and also booked me a table for 4 people at 6.30 pm on the Wednesday. We were greeted by some lovely welcoming staff. We ordered drinks and then mains which consisted of. BBQ ribs with fries, Halloumi with fries, Sausages mash vegetables with a jug of gravy, Panini and fries. Two of us had dessert which was waffles and Eton mess. The food was well presented and delicious. Highly Recommend and will definitely be returning.

We had a takeaway drawn in with the text that the Elaichi was back. Well we were told by the automated system it would be 1.5 hrs but it was more like 2.5 hrs, each time I called to chase why he hadn’t delivered, it was , the driver had just left, it was all cobblers, don’t know why I bothered as the food was awful the worst I’ve ever had, both meals were made with Tomato soup the Indian takeaway cheat ingredient and were watery awfulness - that’s the Chicken tikka masala and Murgh chicken both should have had creamy sauces but alas the tomato soup couldn’t thicken them enough. The only nice thing was the nan bread the day old popadoms and lack of onion salad that was ordered really was the final straw - £55 for two people us £55 I’ll never want to spend there again! Whatever happened to the old Elaichi, should have remained closed…

Not great. This place gets the highest review score in Wantage, so we gave it a whirl on a Saturday night. There was one other table of 4 in an otherwise empty restaurant. Despite this, no staff approached us for 20 minutes and we had to ask if we could place our orders in the end. The food arrived half an hour later. I had King Prawn Biryani, the other half a Sag Aloo. Both were cold. Mine had lots of rice, a small bowl of biryani, 3 or 4 king prawns but MOUNTAINS of peas - not an ingredient I've even noticed in 35 years of eating the dish. Both dishes were cold, but at least the other half's tasted of Sag Aloo - mine was more like gravy than biryani. The chapatis were very thick, floury and salty and as such, inedible. We were given no opportunity to comment on the food and indeed had to approach the kitchen area to pay, such was the absence of any service. Easily the worst Indian meal I've ever had, with the worst service too.

Not one to share " pub reviews" but this is a honest boozer. Went for a pint and a quick gamble on the machines. Was a mistake made on cash exchange when I bought a drink and the lady serving fixed straight away. Their gambling machines broke down after a few minutes and would not pay out monies owed. The bar staff again without a hesitation turned off the machine and in trust paid off the remaining balance. For a " pub" in Abingdon I would say 100% customer service, hope they keep doing well!

Had a Christmas party here on Saturday for five of us and the food was lovely, unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for the hostile staff, felt very uncomfortable by a couple of comments made by staff. Felt very rushed even though they offered us an 8pm table only to be told after being given the desert menus, oh you don’t think your getting a desert do you the kitchen is closed this was at 9.02 but as long as we got our mains we should be happy. Which felt so rude and whilst we was waiting for them to take the bill could hear the same waitress say oh the back table just don’t want to leave, when they hadn’t even offered to take our payment at this point. Was such a shame as the food and bar area was lovely.
