The best restaurants in Vale of White Horse South East

This is now my absolute favourite place. The steak was cooked perfectly (as you'd expect), the chips were lovely, the pudding was bloody lovely and the staff couldn't have been better!

Ordered using the online app and waited and waited. I had to go to the bar and ask for my drink as the bar staff had not noticed my online order come through. Perhaps a buzzer is needed to alert bar staff when an online order is placed?

Food is expensive, I had dessert and was very disappointed, it was chocolate brownie which was cold and cheap ice cream, not good for the price

Not happy with the order as it was spilt all over the bag and didn't get a chance to drink it.

Fantastic Sunday Roast! All trimmings, loads of flavour, traditional cosy pub atmosphere, staff are lovely and attentive. Chef came out to make sure everyone was happy 🙌🏻 lovely garden area, great for bikers, cyclists and walkers. Reasonably priced and a bit of a celeb hot spot ;)

I emailed Carly as I had previously been at lunch time and had a Brie and Bacon Panini and wondered if I could have one early evening. She was very helpful and also booked me a table for 4 people at 6.30 pm on the Wednesday.We were greeted by some lovely welcoming staff. We ordered drinks and then mains which consisted of. BBQ ribs with fries, Halloumi with fries, Sausages mash vegetables with a jug of gravy, Panini and fries. Two of us had dessert which was waffles and Eton mess. The food was well presented and delicious. Highly Recommend and will definitely be returning.

Food was unbelievable. I would have given it 7 stars if I could. I can't believe I've lived here that long and never been before. Service fantatic. Highly highly recommend!!! Perfect.

Not one to leave reviews usually, but we left so full and happy with our experience I felt we had to share. What a lovely place for food and drinks. popped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and the food was really good, the service also was second to none.myself partner and 2 little boys really enjoyed our meals! And the owner and his wife are so lovely and welcoming, we had a lovely chat and they was so accommodating. Would 100% recommend, my partner said the Sunday lunch was up there with one of the best he’s had! I really wish them well

Not one to share " pub reviews" but this is a honest boozer. Went for a pint and a quick gamble on the machines. Was a mistake made on cash exchange when I bought a drink and the lady serving fixed straight away. Their gambling machines broke down after a few minutes and would not pay out monies owed. The bar staff again without a hesitation turned off the machine and in trust paid off the remaining balance. For a " pub" in Abingdon I would say 100% customer service, hope they keep doing well!

Rude staff rang me back after they delivered order demanding I pay again as apparently I didn’t when I payed over the phone! And bank statement proves that! They where aggressive in there tone and damn right horrid I told them I did and I have the bank statement to provide proof of that! They just proceeded to be horrendous and abusive to which I had to put the phone down and tell um if they want to see the proof of payment come back and I’ll show them my bank statement.

Never disappoints, the staff are so nice. You feel so comfortable. We popped in for Sunday lunch. Everything was fresh & hot. We to shared a pudding as so full. But can’t resist the chocolate sundae. Make sure you book or you could be disappointed. Very welcoming to family groups.

Lovely Calm Hotel. Perfect after a long work day at the Airport. The reams are in an old fashion way, and the heating system is Astonisching good. I did not expect that. The Breakfast ist Easy-british, and on request you can get eggs, in different ways from the lovely team, and the Night Portier is an awesome person. The good bus connection to Oxford makes it also a good place to be. Little charming stores are located in 2 Minutes walk, and by good weather, having a beer in the garden of the hotel, or in the middle of the village is perfectly suitable. For those that can't spare having a car, you can park the car for free and for the electriccar-users you have two charging ports that can recharge it. Overall, I can only raccomand it.
