My granddaughter and I met half way for lunch and were not disappointed. We sat in the garden and both had ciabatta filled with bacon and Brie that came with fries. We will definitely be returning.

With The fox getting ready for Truckfest.. my husband surprised me with a Breakfast bap- as they have opened earlier for the event and customers- it was a massive burger, bacon sausage and egg inside- and a hash brown to top it off! Beautiful and so moist I didn’t need any sauce! Sorry I didn’t take a photo I ate it before I thought about it! So so good.. highly recommend.. thank you guys. 5*

We had an amazing day recently for our daughters Christening at the Fox! Carly was so great from start to finish when we were doing all the planning, the food was outstanding along with the service. The pub was perfect with its great kid friendly garden, we had the perfect day and can’t wait to return!

Wouldn't go back. It's a pub apparently but had no bitter on tap. My salad was distinctly lacking in green salady looking stuff. I put more lettuce in a sandwich than was in this salad. Cheescake was basically biscuit base topped with whippy spray cream & strawberry sauce. Pretty awful all round

Popped in for lunch with work colleagues. Friendly staff and great food with generous portions. Ploughmans was great with so much cheese that I took some home! Will definitely go back.

Really disappointing experience today at The Fox Inn. My mum has coeliac disease (a gluten intolerance) and upon arrival we made it known to the bar staff that she has this autoimmune disease before taking a seat. They reassured her and said they cater to coeliac disease and provide gluten free food but the caveat was that as all food is made in the same area they can’t be absolutely sure. This is a standard trade line to use and something we are used to hearing so it’s a problem as staff are just super careful. The worries began when my mum asked for fish & chips (advertised as GF on the menu) and asked if the waitress could speak to the chef as to whether they use a separate fryer for GF meals. The waitress came back and confirmed they did not, but they clean utensils between food prep. Anyone with qualifications in food preparation should know the basics of food intolerances and know that any cross contamination can cause adverse reactions. You can not advertise your food as gluten free, but then when probed, admit to using the same fryer for non gluten free meals too. Mum decided to play it safe and went for a burger and bun (as advertised as GF). The bun did not arrive with the meal, but then later did and twice the waitress confirmed it was gluten free (after much confusion asking the chef). We highly doubt it was as 1 hour later mum had a huge adverse reaction and was severely ill. The only positive thing about this pub was that the young waitress was so polite and caring and wanted to do her job well. In this instance she was let down by her catering colleagues. It’s shocking that in 2024 there are still places that have zero knowledge of catering to allergies. If you can’t provide a safe environment to cook food then do not advertise your meals as being gluten free. Massively disappointing.

Great Garden for families with a bouncy castle, trampoline and a sand pit. Decent food and always a warm welcome. Recommended.

The Fox in Stevenson is without doubt one of the best pubs in the area. Carly and the team will take good care of you in a friendly and welcoming environment. The food is proper, real pub food at reasonable prices. For some pub classics you can enjoy a smaller plate, excellent if you are not too hungry but still fancy a breakfast or a fish and chips. The outside area is very large and perfect on a sunny day.

Beautiful Sunday Lunch at The Fox Inn, staff were most welcoming and accommodating, fantastic service. The children had great fun playing in the garden on the bouncy castle while we waited for our meal. The food was delicious and vegetables cooked perfectly. Popped in for a spot of lunch for a friend's birthday. Staff incredibly friendly, service was excellent and food was lovely. Sat in beautiful garden, under very impressive canopy. Even got a bouncy castle, and other activities, if you've got kids. Ideal

If you’re looking for a friendly welcome and excellent food at very reasonable prices you won’t go far wrong with the Fox. Sunday Roasts are amazing, ploughman’s with lovely warm bread and homemade Pizza. Well worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic meal out for me and my family. 3 of us went for the Ribs which were fantastic. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Between 5 of us, we had the Foxy's Sharer as a starter which was great. Highly recommend. Good atmosphere. Well presented food and very fast service. Very happy and will be returning!!!

Very good pub lunch here today with friends. Great service from friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend the all-day breakfast, while my wife thought the scampi was the best she could remember.

An excellent Sunday roast, every thing about it was excellent. So called Gastro pubs and expensive Restaurants could learn a lesson or two from the Fox. The service and happy staff were excellent even though they were very busy! We will be returning!

Fab Sunday lunch! We went today for a family roast and loved it. Food was brilliant, and staff were lovely. Great, spacious pub. We had a little baby and dog with us and was very accommodating. We all went for the trio of roasts and was great, home cooked and good portions. Can’t wait to return!

This was my second visit and was just as good as the last.We didn't have the pizza's this time (which were fantastic) we chose from the menu. Everything was tasty,hot and well presented. Don't like the place, but don't let that put you off

Nice garden and they clearly have a bit going on. When we turned up they had no keg / cask ales on which was a bit disappointing.

Visited on Saturday, super friendly staff and the most amazing pizza. Highly recommend trying it with the chefs homemade chilli oil, delicious!

I went to the fox inn today with my son, for lunch. I can truly say, it took both of us a long time to choose our food, such was the choice of mouth watering delights on the menu. The service was brisk, friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Wood fired pizza ovens were fired up and ready to go in the garden area, the chef on standby to take your order. Talking of the garden, a bouncy castle and trampoline kept my son happy, all enclosed in a safe environment. Strongly recommended.

We have been before and had good experiences, but went for Sunday lunch 30th July and food was luke warm, vegetables were undercooked and roast potatoes with some meals were hard, meat was lovely and tender. Service was excellent as always.

I’m visiting for work from the North and stopped in for a drink and dinner. The delightfully cheery and hospitable Anna took great care and served me an absolutely delicious home cooked meal (fish and chips). No wonder the locals love it.

The very best pub in Steventon. The food is excellent, they show all the relevant sport, they are dog and child friendly, the staff are the nicest people. There is table tennis and a bouncy castle, there is live music, there's an outdoor pizza oven. The owner is the nicest person, the bar staff couldn't be more excellent. Fully recommend without any hesitation.

We recently booked the Fox for our Company summer get together and found all the staff to be incredibly helpful and made the day a huge success. From start to finish it was well organised, food was brilliant and the setting was just what was required. Carly and her team were easy to deal with and nothing was an issue at all. Huge thank you to all at The Fox!

We arrived at the pub at 3.30 for drinks & a meal. On ordering drinks we were told they had run out of two beers we wanted & the gin I drink normally. When we went to order our food at 4.15 we were told they had run out of food. Given that it was a bank holiday weekend & brilliant weather, you think they would make sure they have ordered plenty of food & drink. We were understandably very disappointed along with other people that wanted food. I’m afraid this is our last visit to the Fox I think.

We were a party of 15, adults and children, and the service was brilliant. All our meals were served at the same time, all hot and with no complaints from anyone. This is the third time we’ve been here in a large group and every time it’s been excellent. I would definitely recommend The Fox.

No tablets needed to keep the children happy whilst waiting for food at The Fox in Steventon. Very few pubs have this covered, The Fox does! With the choice of a trampoline, bouncy castle, sandpit, garden and indoor games there is something for every member of the family. The food is great and the service always goes the extra mile. A great friendly local with an amazing kid friendly garden.

My mother and I go here often. The lady behind the bar is really lovely and the food is amazing! We always ask for a menu even though we always have fish and chips as the batter on the fish is so good. I have complex allergies and my mum has dementia. Both of these are handled with care and attention and I look forward to many meals there in the future.

I called and booked food for 37 people for my 40th birthday, everyone really enjoyed the food, the children loved the bouncy castle, and trampoline in the garden. And the people behind the bar were so friendly and they couldn't do enough for us, I had a brilliant evening, and just wanted to thank the staff for being so wonderful.

Ate here on the first night of our stay nearby. Lovely friendly waitress, who was all on her own, but still kept coming over and checking with us that everything was OK. We started with cheese and bacon potato skins and duck spring rolls, both nice portions, tasty and hot. To followe hubby had chicken and spaghetti, which was a huge portion, and I had a rack of ribs, and I thought I would be good and swapped my chips for vegetables of the day. We were too full for dessert. We booked for the next evening, but alas, my husband was not to well so had to cancel, we were not able to return, we will try to come back to the area later in the year, and will definitely return

Wow had the most delicious Sunday Roast here (takeaway)from the succulent Roast Beef right down to the perfect tasting gravy ooooh and cauliflower Cheese ...Amazing and so easy to arrange picking up 3 Huge Roast Beef Dinners...We will definitely back for more

Kelly has been the most wonderful host this evening. She always has the most wonderful smile on her face and is always so welcoming. She makes our evenings at the fox and absolute delight, and we always look forward to seeing her. She has made our time at the fox so much more enjoyable, and we will be coming back every week just to see her.

Lovely lilttle local pub, i'd strongly recommend anyone in the area come to this pub solely for the purpose of merting kelly. I've never felt more at home and at ease as with kelly. Great drinks, great atmosphere, great kelly.

So welcoming! Just what I needed for a relaxing long lunch while between shifts and staying away. Lovely biscuits with my cup of tea. Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Couldn't be more helpful.

I love the traditional pub environment. This pub gave me warm feeling, especially when we had a big gathering there. We ordered Christmas lunch menu. They were decent. And the waitresses served us promptly. Fantastic!

Updated review!! We had our Christmas meal here Sunday 4th December, table of 13 everyone including the children enjoyed there meals!! Timing was perfect, food was fresh and hot, staff were very helpful and professional! Also great place to watch England win!! I would highly reccomend this pub! They have a spacious garden with ping pong, sandpit also a trampoline and bouncy castle for the children! They think of everyones needs and i have to say in the ladies toilets theres a basket with female products and body spray, Which you dont see often and i think is a lovely idea for those in desperate need! They also held an event for me very last minuet with no problems at all. Everyone enjoyed them selves! A shout out to the barman callum who was incredible considering the amount of people who turnt up! He was a pro. Thankyou to carly and her team incredible service everytime we come down. Xx

One of the worst meals we’ve ever had. Party of 13 and not one person enjoyed the meal. Nothing cooked fresh, lots of food was tasteless and burnt. Overpriced for frozen meals. Definitely would not recommend or be visiting again.

I booked my 40th birthday party at The Fox , I don't even know where to start with my review but Carly & her team are hands down the best landlords, and staff I've met! Carly went above and beyond to ensure the entire evening went without a glitch. I booked a buffet through Carly and WOW!!! The food was outstanding, so much so there was hardly anything left and there was A LOT of food! There were last minute changes, and Carly accommodated it all! I hired spotlight mobile bars, sorted a play list (again last minute). Everything was catered for, I decorated the pub a little bit as I know how annoying tacky stuff can be! We stayed at the Fox on our travels from Australia. Our ensuite room was very clean and comfortable and a good size. Carly and her fantastic team were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the pub which is in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.We ate several times and all our meals were both delicious and very generous. Definitely looking forward to staying again next time we are visiting the UK.

I booked this restaurant for a family get-together for80th Birthday. All Staff was so welcoming and accommodating. They could not do enough to make sure we had a great time. The food was excellent. First time back in the fox in a couple of years. We had a great dinner in a nice atmosphere with very pleasant staff working there. The whole place and dining area looked spotless and clean. Won’t be our last visit it looks like the new license’s have a winning formula 👍

Open Mic Night and Pizza oven in the garden. 10/10! Atmosphere is phenomenal, it welcomes locals and all newcomers. Couldn't have asked for a nicer evening after work. The staff are so kind and attentive, facilities are great, it's clean, dog friendly, kids are welcomed too! They have a bouncy castle, sand pit and giant connect four... plenty to keep them entertained. The pizzas are AMAZING! Wow, highly recommend. Fresh ingredients, the gentleman who makes them is ever so friendly and a very good cook. Will 100% be coming back. Thank you for a fab evening x
