Went for the Sunday roast to celebrate my 50th birthday. The roast was brilliant, as usual, had all the trimmings and was delicious. Two of the party were late but there was no pressure to order and we were given plenty of time to wait for them (in the end they didn't turn up as they'd broken down) but the staff were very relaxed about it. Kids had the burgers which they thoroughly enjoyed. Altogether, a lovely relaxed, enjoyable Sunday meal.

Family meal out waited ages just for menu's , plenty of staff just didn't seem coordinated which is sad really as it's a good venue with nice views over the river. Meals delivered but no follow up after if everything was OK just seem to be left ...again needs some coordination the staff just looked tired. The food was good and good value, child portions were very good. I've put average as a review due the service experience.

Visited on a week night with friends. The pub is well decorated and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I had the burger and my wife had the swordfish which were very good. We shared the fruit crumble for desert. It was full of fruit but was lukewarm and the crumble topping tasted a bit too much of margarine so not the best. However I would go back.

Had an amazing lunch at this place! My partner had the traditional fish and chips and I had the Maybush Loaded Burger. We both shared the food to try both dishes ( guilty!) Okay let me just say this: The fish and chips. Holy moly! In my opinion, the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in the country. Smooth, velvety feeling with the crunchy skin of the fish. Like I’d gladly be willing to travel all the way to this place to try their fish and chips. The loaded burger was loaded clearly with beef, bacon, pulled pork and cheese! Ah-may-zing! ❤️ Hope to come here soon !

No así The Maybush.

Came here for my mum's birthday and it was empty at 2pm on a sunny Saturday, which we thought was odd but soon found out why. To be fair, the food wasn't terrible, although it wasn't cheap either, so I expected better, and they had very few veggie options (we had two veggies with us, who had to choose between a pie, a risotto, or a sandwich...). The beer selection wasn't too bad either so that's a positive. However, apart from one person who was very sweet to my nephew, the staff served us in a way that made us feel like we were a massive inconvenience to them by being there. Short, impolite, everything seemed to be too much to ask. Everyone in our group came away feeling pretty unhappy with our visit. TL;DR: quite expensive, average food, impolite staff. Go elsewhere.

5 of us plus dog visited. Fantastic setting, nice pub too with indoor/outdoor seating. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Not so keen on the seperate menus for inside and outside - the daily specials are not available outside either. Also, service wasn’t brilliant. We had to track someone down to take our order, and at the end of the night we were the only ones left, the staff were chatting to each other, and we again had to go and ask them for the card machine so we could pay. I would definitely return and recommend this place, but if you want a decent choice of food book indoors.

We visited on Saturday and Sunday afternoons on the bank holiday weekend for Mayfest. Typically the British weather decided to be difficult. We were staying at Lincoln Farm park, so Saturday we did the 45 min Windrush walk to and from the Maybush. Sunday was dry so we walked vua Northmoor. Both days the live music was excellent as was the food. Saturday we had Souvlaki (one of the best we've had outside of Greece) and Sunday we had a great Pizza. We've been visiting this area for 15 plus years several times a year and The Maybush is a fabulous place to go (much more friendly etc than the one over the road)!

Which is more than I can say for the position of our table behind the kitchen door and next to the one door toilets used by customers and staff just glad no one needed to take a number two. Ordered drinks, requested no ice and drink came with ice. Ordered food waitress was very helpful, with our choices. Requested no cucumber and guess what came with cucumber. The nice large chips were filled with oil. Really disappointed as this had come highly recommended to us. Would return again but only for a drink 😌

Called in mid afternoon after a lovely stroll along the Thames, in need of refreshment. Immediately greeted by rather curt questioning as to whether we would be drinking outside. Upon confirming this, we were rudely asked to order at the outside bar; this seemed very odd as is exactly the same bar joined to the inside! Then when outside, we were completely ignored for any service. The Rose Revived across the bridge offered a far more welcoming custom and greater selection of drinks and food. Three of us came straight from work on a sunny Tuesday evening. We were informed that there were different menus inside & outside so decided to sit out by the river. Unfortunately I felt like the waitress, firstly walked to the outside bar to get the menus, secondly to order our drinks only to be told couldn’t set up a tab, so back to the table to get cash which wasn’t the right amount so back to get more. Had to then take our own drinks to the table. Back up to order food, asked for 2 flat iron steaks, staff said they didn't serve that outside but it was on the menu, she checked & it was available. Back to the table to wait for our food alarm to go off then up again collecting our own food & cutlery from the hatch in the kitchen. We asked for our steaks medium rare, mine was fine but my mums was overdone, she didn’t ask for another as she didn’t want to be sat eating on her own when the others had already started. My mum did mention it at the end & was offered a complimentary drink. We also only had half a flat mushroom each & 3 hot cherry tomatoes which I thought was a bit tight. When I go out for a meal spending over £100 I expect to feel relaxed & looked after. The outdoor area is so nice by the river but there was no personal service & eating & drinking outside felt like a cafe. We have eaten inside before in the winter which was fine but would not hurry back to eat outside.

The Maybush, Newbridge - A Riverside Escape The Maybush in Newbridge is a lovely spot by the River Thames, offering beautiful views and a warm atmosphere. It's perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or family, especially on a sunny day when you can sit outdoors by the water like we did. The menu has a good variety, but my roast meat dish was a bit hit-and-miss. The lamb and pork were flavorful but a tad dry, so I'd rate the roast meats 3 stars. However, the rest of the menu was impressive, and I'd give 4 stars for the overall experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the rest of the food was well-prepared and delicious. Despite the slight disappointment with the roast, I'd still recommend The Maybush for its stunning location, enjoyable atmosphere, and diverse menu. A terrific pub in a beautiful location, with very affable staff, good food, and some excellent jazz if you're fortunate to hear it

Great food, great location, great service. The only downside was parking, but wouldn't put me off going again

Came here for lunch had the set lunch menu 3 courses for £20. Had crispy beef salad, sirloin steak and choc fudge cake, the portions were generous and food was delicious, no complaints and will be going back!

Four of us went to The Maybush for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The starter of Broccoli and Stilton soup, served with fresh bread and butter was very tasty. We all had the roast dinner - 3 beef and one lamb, which was served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and a varied selection of vegetables. Everything was absolutely delicious and the beef was cooked perfectly medium rare. A couple of desserts were shared and both were lovely - apple crumble with ice cream and custard and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Definitely recommend for a visit

The staff is very arrogant and rude. Every time we went there we had to wait for a very long time!!!

Had an enjoyable family (11 people) gathering on a sunday. We were given a table in an area that made it almost exclusive to us. Meal was excellent and service brilliant. Outside area for a warmer day looked perfect with the river running by. A little flooded on the day of our visit though. Swans didn't seem to mind!!

We had to wait over an hour for our food whilst all around us got theirs., we were then told our order hadn't printed and "things happen" rather than apology. We were brought a free drink and still waited another half hour. The food was good when it arrived but still didn't come out together!! Won't bother again 😌

Visited here for the 1st time today as heard the food was lovely .. we was not disappointed, it was beautiful! My husband had pie of the day with veg and chips and I had fish and chips with mushy peas and beautiful tartar sauce. Highly recommend the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Only little niggle personal preference really , we were sat at the 2 table right in front of specials board- people constantly staring over , standing over our table while we were eating too look at board, quite off putting . Will be back ☺️

Highly recommend ! We had Sunday lunch here today and could not fault it. Our roasts were amazing (even though they’re having their kitchen refurbished ) ~ generous servings, perfectly cooked meat and fabulous selection of veggies. The staff were super friendly and attentive too. Smiley and engaging ( and made a fuss of our dog too ! ) We also bumped into the owner on our way out and had a lovely chat. So refreshing to have had such a warm and genuine welcome ! This pub deserves your custom xx

Rob & Will have quite literally saved The Plough. The food is always good, the atmosphere is welcoming, and we love coming to the pub for food and/or drinks. We’re very lucky to have such a great pub in the village.

Absolute gem of a cafe. Delicious food and the personal service really makes it a special visit. Keep going back as I'm always made to feel welcome and can't beat the food. Reasonably priced as well. Can't recommend enough!

Four of us went for a preXmas lunch today and we can't speak too highly of our meal. The food was absolutely superb and our waiter, Jack, was very attentive and look after us so well. I've got to say that the Christmas pudding was the best I think I've ever had. We'll certainly be paying another visit soon.
