The best restaurants in St. Bride's Major The Vale of Glamorgan South East

Outstanding food and service from start to finish. Definitely in my top 3 restaurants ever visited. I have recommended this place to many of my friends, who have said exactly the same!

Spacious restaurant offering authentic Turkish cuisine. Good food, fresh and tasty. Impeccable service. We were struggling to find somewhere to eat and found this place out of the main busier high streets. So pleased we stumbled across it because it was just so good. Just what we needed. Quiet and great food. Winner.

Frolics has thoroughly and consistently excellent dining experience that always provides a memorable occasion. A delicious menu of carefully crafted dishes and the warmest welcome that surely makes Frolics the friendliest little restaurant in Wales. Our favourite place bar none.

Great meal. One of my best meals in south wales I had whilst I was here for 2 weeks. Recommend . My steak was cooked perfectly and the chips are the best in the area.

Don’t really know where to start! When we got there the place was freezing cold, the heating wasn’t on and the fires weren’t lit! We were sat down and given 1 menu between 2 of us. My wife ordered a pink gin and lemonade, when it arrived it was in a pint glass full to the brim with lemonade! We were told they didn’t have any gin glasses despite having a gin list on the wall…….. The only other people in the entire place were 4 people in the bar (we’ll get back to that in a bit). The chicken goujons were clearly frozen and had just been deep fried, not home made! When my hunters chicken arrived the chicken was hard and dry and there had been freezing cold bbq sauce squirted all over the top of it, likely a bottle straight from the fridge it was that cold! The chips were clearly warmed up, the peas were freezing cold, totally inedible! Now back to the people in the bar, 4ft away from us. I’m no prude but whilst we were trying to eat, the conversation was extremely loud (no music playing in the place) every other word was F and then the conversation moved on and included graphic discussion of having sex on the kitchen table! I couldn’t complain about the food as there was no staff! When I went to the bar and shouted for someone’s attention to just pay and get out of the place, I politely said I wasn’t paying for the chicken which was virtually untouched on the plate and explained why, one of the 4 in the bar, whom I would assume was a rather drunk local started being sarcastic! The poor girl that was left to deal with this, the only member of staff we saw all night was mortified! When we complained the 4 people in the bar left rather quickly leaving the place totally empty at 7.15pm on a Saturday night which speaks volumes in itself! Before the owner starts trying to defend this review, I’d like to think you weren’t one of the 4 in the bar? Absolutely shocking place, £34 down the drain, we couldn’t wait to get out of the place! Avoid visiting here at all costs!

I can't say any more than "Hillary and Iain's famous garlic mushrooms in a bacon and cheese melt" because that sums it up. A beautiful starter, shared accommodatingly between 3 of us 5 diners. Because... ...we were all having Turkey festive dinners for mains. The one of us 5 who had never been to H&I's before kept commenting as the veg and sides were coming out about when it would end 😁 Add to this just the lovely atmosphere and bistro vibe. If you want fast food and factory precision go elsewhere. This is a husband and wife cooking team that do their utmost to cook up a storm because they love feeding people. Be prepared to sit down with some coffee or wine or whatever takes your fancy and kitchen magic will materialise as and when it's humanly possible. We must also give a shout out to the fabulous young man waiter, Niko, who is effortlessly charming and amenable. He really does try and do everything everywhere all at once and it's because he very likely has some ADHD or similar, but also, he has been diagnosed with an unusual visual impairment condition, and so be mindful to help and guide him.

After cycling around the vale we ending up in ignore. Had a meal at the surf shack. Very good food good prices

We had a fantastic evening here on Friday 7th Feb. Janine was so accommodating and a great help in our (fairly last minute!) request for a space to hold a karaoke night for our friend's hen party. Probably the most welcome I've ever felt in a pub/restaurant - every member of staff were so lovely. The food was incredible and great value for money. They helped us set things up, and we even had two (fantastic) guitarists play for us for the last part of the evenings karaoke. Couldn't have asked for a better night and we will definitely be back! It made for a really special and memorable night. Thank you so much.

This pub has a good variety of food and we were a table of five with everyone ordering different food. All meals came out freshly cooked and were delicious. The drinks were delivered in a timely manner. However if you have allergies please make sure you tell them as they don’t ask when ordering. Our waitress didn’t ask whether we had allergies even when I asked for specific food cooked and without some of the items with the food. She did however laugh at how ridiculous my meal looked when she brought it to me. This was the only down point to a very good afternoon

Sunday lunch was delicious and hot. Already recommended the farmers arms,to our friends as they love Turkish food, and we will also be coming back for another mixed grill,so yummy. Really worth a visit
