Great food, great portions, staff are nice. I haven't used the campsite myself, however my fiance has been several times with her friends and always says it's a great place to set down after trail runs and hike. They also occasionally have music gigs and events, and the atmosphere is great.

I used to eat here on a Sunday regularly, all be it a while back. The Sunday roast options were always excellent with a proper home-made taste, Now its a pale imitation, a pseudo roast dinner of misplaced style over substance. A single leaf of Cavolo Nero, on top of that a 3x1 inch portion of Dauphinoise potato and a large quartered segment of very woody parsnip with an overcooked small single carrot laid languidly on top. A couple of slices of beef, somewhat well done casually leaning against the veg tower with it's ubiquitous Yorkshire pudding, all served on a cold plate, which did nothing to retain any meagre heat still present in the actual food. The accompanying soulless side veg, watery flavourless swede and carrot mash, an attempt at creamed cabbage with bacon, pointlessly served to 2 vegetarians who were sat at the table , and a small portion of steamed leaks, which were fine and some green beans, very much not fine, shrivelled for being held too long before serving. The service was good enough, though it did end once the plate was placed on the table. Though it was all let down by the dismally average pretentious food offering.

It had run out of chunky chips. There was an infant screaming. Sat outside. Very pleasant. Lovely staff. One of the dining rooms shut. It all felt as if it was in decline and ready to close. Something was not quite right. The food was good and portions large . The service excellent. Great for parking. I used to frequent here over 30 years ago and very fond of the place. But is atmosphere was not the same. Just felt something was missing. Maybe it lacked atmosphere.

Came on Sunday for dinner, we were so impressed we called tonight for supper. Husband had crispy king prawns to start (delicious) then lamb pie, I had pulled pork quasadilla. We were both really happy with our choices, very tasty (I am beyond fussy!). The food was excellent, the owner and his staff were super friendly and helpful, it was very quiet so only us there.....Wed early evening on a very cold breezy evening, but never awkward. I can cross my heart when I say I recommend this place.

Having travelled extensively throughout my life and historically been less then great on leaving reviews I have been compelled to pen paper to acknowledge the outstanding hospitality received by Dave and the team at The Three Golden Cups in Southerndown, Wales. Upon a slightly late arrival I was made to feel incredibly welcome by Dave and we had a great chat over a beer or two. The atmosphere in the pub and around the campsite was excellent and the location? Simply WOW. For anyone passing through or looking for a stunning location to explore look no further. If you wander for 5 minutes down the road you'll be greeted with the image you'll see within this review. I for one will not hesitate to revisit the area and it goes without saying where I'll be staying! Thank you once again and keep up the great work! 🙏

Site prices have gone up, £30 a night, no electric, wasn't that long ago was £17 in week and £25 Friday and weekend. Site use to be busy, very few this visit even with good weather. Poor showers, knowwhere to put your clothes/sit down. Like toilet cubicles with a bit in the roof open. Good place to walk coastal walking, beach 10 minutes walk. But many campervans/motorhomes staying overnight, 7 that I know of. Taking up best views.

Gorgeous plate of fish and chips with peas served today, I couldn't wait to eat so there is a chunk out of the fish + some peas missing 😁. The fish batter was light, fish cooked perfectly served with peas + homemade tarter sauce. It was delicious + no problem for the staff when I asked for extra tartar sauce + later some tomato sauce as I had so many chips left over . I have never been disappointed with the service, drinks or food whenever I've visited this pub

Last minute decision for a night away. £30 for a non electric, perfectly level spot in a large field. You pay extra for WiFi and there is little phone signal which was fine for the night. Would have been perfect if the large group of teens had observed the 11pm quiet time but it was 1am before they decided to give the site some peace and we had to be gone by 7am for work. Toilets and showers were pristine, although there were no sanitary bins in the ladies' cubicles. We had burgers in the pub for supper which were good and it's a lovely walk down to the beach, it weirdly didn't feel as steep walking back up as it does driving! There is a bus service, so timed right, you can do the coastal path, then get back to site without too much faff. Overall, a really lovely spot for a night or 2, enjoying the Welsh coast.

I mean I can’t really complain as overall it was a good weekend here. However I think it was pretty expensive. £25 a night, without electric is lot. The showers are in portaloos and are absolutely freezing so no one used them. The toilets are indoors which is better however I don’t think they were cleaned all weekend? The pub next to field is lovely and the staff were great, the owner seemed very lovely and laid back which is what you want! The pizza guy was quite miserable on one day however the next day he did cheer up - maybe he had personally issues but it wasn’t great customer service. Overall, 4 stars because I had a good weekend but price, cleanliness and showers were a big let down. Not sure I would return based on that.
