The 3 women behind the bar were brusque and dour-faced. When I asked for a Campari and soda, the barmaid served it in a half pint glass topped up to the brim with soda. I said, I’m sorry but that’s not quite right, could you please put a measure of Campari in a glass with a splash of soda? The second attempt was again served in a half pint glass, this time a measure of Campari with a thimbleful of soda. Why the girl didn’t put the Campari in a glass and just ask me how much soda I wanted is beyond me. So I asked nicely if she could add a splash more soda. She did so whilst completely blanking me and asking another customer what she could get him. The whole ordeal was painful and as she was unfriendly and humourless, rather embarrassing. For this appalling lack of customer service and a pint of lime and soda, I was charged a scandalous £6.80. Train your staff to interact with their customers and tell them that a smile goes a long way!

We had our wedding reception here last month and couldn't have picked a better venue. The views and photographs we have from the roof terrace are stunning. Steve and his team were absolutely amazing and allowed us free reign with decorating the function room and conservatory. The hot and cold buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of choices and lots of our guests commented how much they enjoyed it. Thank you Steve and all your staff for hosting our Day.

We had booked tables to have lunch but when we arrived, most choices on the menu were not available. For me personally I had my third choice meal.

My wife and I made a first time visit to Swanbridge about 8 yrs ago and were moved to write a glowing review on what was the best Ploughmans platter we had even tasted and the special service we had received. On a sunny September Saturday we made a long awaited return visit from Swansea. One would have expected everything to be available on such a lovely day especially as we were probably first to request lunch at 12:00pm. We were shocked that the Ploughmans, together with 3 or 4 other main course meals were unavailable! The restaurant had an unfriendly, unloved and grubby feel about it, unlike the 'Captains Wife" next door which was buzzing. We have noted high praise for Sunday lunch and evening meals but our lunchtime experience was unacceptable and a total waste of a journey made especially. Lucky for us that there was a friendlier reception next door as back up!

My wife and I have just had a very nice meal, the food was very fresh and tasted lovely. An excellent choice of beers and cider available too. The bonus is that you get a lovely view over the Bristol Channel too.

Spotted this place after working in the area recently, so decided to pop in for a bite on my day off. Did not disappoint. Had an excellent quality breakfast for a 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 good price. Excellent views too. Definitely one to return to.

Had an English breakfast which was hot and tasty and great value. Staff were excellent, friendly and attentive.

On the 27th August we booked to celebrate my dad's birthday . It was pouring with rain and really hard to park. I'm unfamiliar with the area and I have been fined £60 for parking as they put it outside the captains wife . I didn't see any signs the service was so very slow and I had to constantly go and find staff to get cutlery I will not come back

Took over a hr for food .. ( it wasn't busy only 3 tables took 40 minutes from when the last person has there meal until we got ours )didn't have any fish so had lasagna which was more like pasta and tomato sauce with a spoon of meat the staff were amazing

Best full English in the Vale of Glamorgan for sure. Been a loyal customer for over a decade now but the past year they’ve really upped their game considerably - the full English comes with even higher quality ingredients now! Hash browns are spectacular. Service is fast. Well done guys, keep it up.

Booked outside table upstairs with sea views for 20th wedding anniversary. On arrival told we couldn't sit upstairs for no reason. Went across the road instead with amazing food, super views, and lovely service. On way back, saw people sitting upstairs at this place.

Nice clean establishment with good choice of things to eat. One order arrived wrong but it was quickly remedied. There didn't appear to be any toilets.

The worst customer service I had in my life. Since we walked in, the atmosphere was very bad. Messed up the whole order. Unpolite waitress due to bad moods as I been told by the till. Ignoring my comments. The whole stuff is very arogant and rude.

Went to the Seahorse Grill for Fish and Chips,the menu says Cod and chips £14.95....its NOT a Cod,its some type of cheap poor tasting fish,could have been Pollock,Chips were ok.Very overpriced for what you get....DONTY BUY THE FISH N CHIPS.

A lovely venue - a fantastic roof-top terrace with excellent views across the ocean. We visited for drinks only, so cannot comment on the food. The drinks were good value and the location is perfect.

I was expecting great things from the restaurant but was pretty disappointed. The food was below average, I had a steak and it was well done when I ordered medium, the onion rings were very greasy and didn't taste great, the chips were a mix of good and over done, there was no pepper corn sauce despite it being part of the meal. The service wasn't great, we asked multiple times for condiments but we never received them instead we were forced to goto the bar and ask for it ourselves. Not once we're we asked if the food was okay during the meal, which is a staple of any restaurant. We had coffees at the end and they were just warm milk with a tiny hint of coffee. All in all a disappointment and we will not be returning favouring the other restaurants in that area.

Had a mixed grill, was disappointed with it as a whole, apart from the chips which were tasty but not much of the, half a chicken breast which was dry and overcooked, very small piece of steak, gammon looked like a very small thick piece of bacon, sausage was tasteless, mushrooms overcooked, we had pre ordered our food as a large number of us were eating, the price on the menu was 14.95 which I thought was a fair price when pre ordering it, but wasn't worth 14.95 but when it came to paying the price was 18.95 had I known this I would never have ordered it as it definitely wasn't worth the money

Ordered some food we had a mixture of starters chips, onion rings , chicken wings, garlic bread sweet potato fries the waitress came back and said no sweet potato fries so we said just give us something the total bill was £21 and it said on bill 3 for £15 and the other 2 items were £3 each it worked out 6 onion rings 3 chicken wings and 2 slices of garlic bread is that really worth £15 and my replacement sweet potato fries was 3 hash brown very disappointed and never worth the money

Fab place for a Sunday roast. 8 of us went which included 2 kids. Plenty of choice on the menu also for the kids. Really good price and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return

Went here for the first time in ages. Ordered the full breakfast minus the black pudding. Where to start, firstly the coffee was awful. Took two sips and left it. Ordered an orange juice which was super concentrated, had ice so made it a little more tasteful. The portion was large, just mostly inedible. The tomatoes and mushrooms were from a tin, sausages poor quality. I ate one, left the other. A battery egg, fried. Bacon was average, white toasted bread ok. Fried bread I didn’t even attempt, the beans ( two spoonfuls ) were ok. The staff are all under 21 and are attentive and polite. Will not return, as I left most of it. The best breakfast I’ve had recently was in Wenvoe Garden Centre, first class.

We held my Dad’s Wake after his funeral at the Seashore Grill, Sully and I have to say the service, buffet and location was outstanding. I would like to thank Steve and his family for the friendly and professional service they provided and for making a making a difficult day easier.

What can I say went to the seashore grill today for sunday lunch absolutely gorgeous food and my daughter and her boyfriend had the vegan option which again they said was lovely nothing was to much trouble will definitely be back highly recommend

Think it has been taken over, used to be lovely, busy and very popular - now, absolutely awful. Popped in for coffee and a lunch snack. Couldn't understand why it was empty as normally a busy place. Asked for brown bread, got white with more margarine than tuna could barely taste the tuna or see it . Husbands chicken tikka baguette more mayo than anything else. Soggy salad. Chips were under cooked, cool and soggy, made my mum gag. The coffee was nice but came without a teaspoon and with no sugar when asked where the sugar was waitress pointed over there. There were five people in whole place, she could have got it for us. We had to go up and get teaspoon. All youngsters working there chatting to their friends and not in a rush. Took two of them to bring our food to the table. Apparently waiting for new menus was told even though states on the menu crisps and drink for extra £1.50 they don't that anymore even though it was on menu, said we had to buy separately. Also old seashore grill breakfast on there £8.50 but half of items now crossed out in.biro so you could see what you previously got for £8.50 and what you get now for £8.50 which is half of the items from before. Absolute crap, won't be there long like that. Good news 25% off Sunday lunches if you're brave enough. All in all absolute crap, avoid. Sorry but that is an honest and true reflection.

We have been here for breakfast and lunch several times and the food has always been good as is the service. Today, however, had to ask for the menus after waiting quite a while for someone to serve us. We had brunch which was really not good at all. It was very greasy and the bacon looked as though it had been cooked on a dirty grill. We were so disappointed as we've never had a bad meal here before. I hope it was just a one off.

Have never had a bad meal here. Hash browns perfect, sausages perfect. Great all round. Had a 6 item but may go for 9 next time. Can't fault it for the price. The view is lovely whatever the weather. Staff are lovely. Considering some of the girls ages they put their all into into their job and don't get enough recognition. Bar staff always lovely. Can't wait for a new year breakfast or lunch 😋 👏

ago Christmas party night We went as they advertised a Christmas party night expecting a party night with entertainment but only being told in the morning on the day after a week of ringing and be told there would be I messaged to find out Saturday morning no entertainment and only 2 party tables booked so on arrival we put in there conservatory room on our own when we complained moved us where I guess more than a few tables was there Christmas party night in annexe the girl who moved the cutlery and crackers from table in conservatory was unbelievable rude to lay up in the other part for us and then to top it of the food was either burnt,cold or frozen wouldn't recommend anyone to go there Show less

Called in today for a spot of breakfast , I was a bit hesitant As it has now changed ownership , breakfast came all neatly layed out , bacon cooked very crispy, beans in a bowl , fried bread golden brown. Best breakfast in a long time. Nice polite staff. Will be back to try a smashed burger 🍔. Next time.

We had a starter, Sunday roast, and a dessert. It was all lovely. The staff waiting were all very sweet, helpful and smiling, which was nice to see. They couldn't do enough. The pricing is very reasonable. A great experience all round

Worst Sunday lunch I have ever had. Don't know why people are saying its nice, I can assure you it wasn't and not to waste your money. The experience wasn't great either moody waitress and rude. The Waitresses where shouting at each other across the restaurant it was obvious they where arguing. Run by clowns.

Good selection of items and size : 4*, 6* or 9* from selection of bacon, sausage, egg, beans, plum tomatoes, hash brown, mushrooms, black pudding and fried bread. Cup of tea or coffee, plus toast included. Great value! Three eating areas: main indoor, conservatory and covered outdoor. Highly recommended! 🙂👍

Have been attending here for a while for breakfast or Sunday lunch, always a delight but I have to say this Sunday was outstanding. The garlic mushrooms hand on heart were best I’ve ever tasted, so much flavour, the beef was stunning, the whole dinner was cooked beautifully. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the girls were superb as usual. Will see you next week!!

Decided to have a breakfast for the first time and was very surprised with how good it was! All cooked to perfection and the price was very reasonable too! Also lovely seating areas with great views. This is now my go to place for breakfast, and will also try their other food. Excellent!

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice cooked breakfast here on a Saturday morning. Good food, very reasonably priced. Once the initial order is made and the food delivered, the service was a bit unreliable and we had to chase up further tea/coffee orders, but this was the only negative point. Lovely view over Swanbridge bay, good food and good value for money. We'll definitely be back.

Nice food, service was good however due to seating position we had to constantly walk around to get a waiter to assist.

Visited this restaurant for Mothers Day. Made all our issues the the manager on duty. Their response was that they were busy. As it was bookings only, they made themselves busy and put money before customer experience and food quality.

5 of us had Sunday lunch there, service was very slow, they got the orders wrong, prawn cocktails were disappointing, the cheesecakes were tiny and the apple crumble and custard was just a soggy mush and was inedible ! In fairness the roast dinner was very nice. Disappointing experience.

First port of call on my day off for a Breakfast with the Mrs Fab food / location 😀

We were sat for 40 minutes before drinks were brought to us. It was an hour before they even brought our starters out. We asked for the children's dinners to come out with our starters, we were told no problem, yet our starters came with no sign of the children's dinners. A 4 and a 6 year old sat at a table for over an hour without any food was hard work as you can imagine. I felt I couldn't eat with the children sat there without theirs so I waited. By the time the children's dinners came out they were really hungry so had eaten half of my starter. They finally had their dinner then had their deserts, with no sign of our mains. After 2 hours of sitting there having only had starters although our children had finished, we decided enough was enough and left. It was hard enough keeping 2 young children sat for that length of time, let alone them waiting for us to have dinner and desert as well. It was insult to injury that staff kept fussing over one table who must have known them, and even had the chefs at the table talking to them when they should have been in the kitchen cooking our food! Very, very poor service! We only paid for what we had, but still came to £46.70 for 2 children's meals and deserts, 2 adult starters, 2 beers, a bottle of wine, and 2 pints of lemonade (even though we only asked for half pints). Safe to say we didn't even think about leaving a tip! The staff apologised as we left, but as my partner pointed out to them; they obviously weren't bothered as they didn't take anything off the bill as an apology. This is a great place to go to if you want your food several hours after you're booked in for it, and like shoddy service!

Best quality breakfast in South Wales. Being retired we ride our scooters to a cafe somewhere in South Wales every week and this is the best breakfast we've had.The 9 item breakfast is amazing.

Just come from the restaurant. Appaling service. Went there at 12.20pm there for over two hours . Starter came with two tiny pieces of bread for the pate and garlic mushrooms could get no attention. Mains took 30 mins after finished starters. 3 mains wrong. Then we get the bill with 2 drinks not ours with no sorry. POOR POOR POOR. Never again!!

Its was a drizzly February lunchtime and some staff hadnt turned up so the one poor girl was working very hard. To the point of not listening to the drinks order carefully. Food was tasty and varied.

A lovely outlook from our table. 4 of us had lovely meals on a wet February Wednesday lunchtime. We were sat in the conservatory which was not too cold. We each had fish and chips, a mixed grill, haddock and mash, and the gammon and chips. All meals were perfectly cooked. The waitress was doing her best despite being on her own to which she apologised. She brought us our drinks within 5 mins and we didn't have to wait too long for the meals. A nice experience and will definitely return in the warmer weather when I believe they open the conservatory windows.
