Had dinner here last night. Its got a cosy homely touch. Advance booking is required. Tasty food. Portions are just apt. Desserts too were tasty but with one main dish itself u can get full. Discounted options were available. Nice place for a family meetup etc

Called here on Saturday with my husband and two adult children to celebrate my birthday. We all had delicious meals. All our starters, main courses and deserts were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and service was excellent. We made a last minute decision to book here but we will definitely return.

We had a fabulous meal on Sunday. The welcome we received from the Patrons was so friendly and helpful we felt immediately at home. The Sunday lunch menu was excellent with so many interesting things to choose from as well as the traditional roasts. Everything we had was perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. The service was exemplary and every customer there was made to feel special by owners who really cared and did their utmost to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves. It is the best overall dining experience we have had in a very long time and we can't wait to return. Thank you

This is a lovely restaurant in Southerndown with freshly prepared meals and superb hosts who are very friendly. Booking beforehand is a must and there is a three course deal option should you wish which does save some money off the normal menu prices. The desserts are very plentiful!

Absolutely amazing!! Food was outstanding, every single mouthful was full of flavour, and every portion was the perfect serving size!! Service was spot on and the owners of the establishment were very welcoming. We will be visiting again soon!!

Went to Frolics today and cannot recommend it highly enough, the food was just superb and the owners are so lovely. Some of the best food we have had in a restaurant for a very long time.

What an amazing little restaurant! Went with my fiancé to celebrate passing an exam. The food was delicious, I would especially recommend the deep fried egg for starters. The fish had a delicious sauce that I can’t stop thinking about. My partner had the chicken and said that it felt very homely. A fantastic meal out and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend for a special occasion or simply just for a nice meal out with family and friends.

What a gem of a restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel special. The service and whole atmosphere of the place are second to none. The food is equally as amazing. We went as a family of four and there was plenty of choice on the menu, some new and innovative dishes along with some established classics. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely lovely dining experience with joyful hosts and exceptional food; it really is all extremely lovely. A nice relaxed dining room with small bar, and further seating downstairs; this isn't a big place so definitely worth booking. Parking can be a little difficult as just a few designated spaces - just to left of front door - but space can usually be found nearby (beware double yellows though). Totally recommended; brace yourself a wonderful dining experience!

Absolutely fantastic I love this restaurant

To escape the wet windy weather we decided to have lunch out in a place we had never previously visited. Hugo took our reservation and gave a warm welcome on arrival. The restaurant was pleasantly warm with a relaxed atmosphere. We decided on the lunchtime menu , two courses at £14.95 , and a bottle of wine. The food was delicious , we had home made soup and pork bon bons , followed by belly pork and fillet of sea bream with locally sourced vegetables. The meals were so nice we decided to stay a little longer and try their home made desserts. A great decision. Hugo was pleasantly attentive and made our stay that much more enjoyable. We had a great afternoon and it will not be long before we return. Highly recommend.

Cannot fault this restaurant, and the two Peters gave another impeccable performance as the evening's entertainment. A lot of effort goes into the running of this establishment, so if you haven't been yet, take my word for it!

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. I went there for lunch yesterday with my two daughters and we had a wonderful time. The food was exquisite, so tasty and so well presented. The menu was brilliant such a good range of things to choose from. Well done to the chef The service was incomparable so friendly, yet also discreet. We will definitely be returning.

A lovely small restaurant with exceptional service and exquisite food. Eventhough the menu is smaller than a lot of places, there is enough selection to cater for everyone and the meals are amazing. The meals are not overpriced when compared with other restaurants and the food is fresh and delicious. It doesn't have many tables which adds to its charm and the level of service they can offer, however there is another room with tables downstairs. Well worth a visit for a special occasion but be prepared to book. A lovely treat.

A great restaurant with a charming hostess. The lunchtime menu is good value and well presented in relaxed surroundings. There are two separate dining areas, both of limited size but small and large numbers can be catered for.

Four of us went to Frolics for one of their opera nights. Two excellent singers in this small restaurant produced an amazing, intimate atmosphere with performances between each of the excellent five courses. We've already booked to return.

A warm welcome, our table was ready. Drinks appeard with bread for dipping. Not a huge menu but interesting with something for everyone. Whitebait was excellent but could do with a little more of the excellent lemon mayonnaise. Chicken was well presented and very tasty

Excellent intimate setting. Food was exceptional with good portion sizes. Host made it a relaxing and welcoming environment. Will be visiting again. Make sure you book to guarantee a table. Parking is limited. Some bays or road parking. Larger pay and display car two minutes walk past restaurant available.

The owners were welcoming warm people, nothing was too much trouble. The Sea Bream was really nice, however the Pork Belly was so delicious! Still talking about it! ❤️ Ambience - everything was tastefully done, relaxed and very comfortable. This is an authentic family run GEM. It’s a little special. We need to visit more often!

Fabulous food & fabulous service.

Looks a little quirky from the outside and the name doesn’t really dispel that, but what is important is the food, the service and the atmosphere and this is THE place to go. Had white bait, wild boar and bread and butter pudding, the better half had beetroot salad, hake and tiramisu, and it was delicious. It’s a long way from home, but if in Wales again it’s worth the journey! It has restored my faith in dining out.

Every thing about this restaurant was delightful! From the lovely lady who took my booking call through to the fond wave goodbye. When we arrived our baby was sleeping in the car so they thoughtfully set up a table right next to our car; complete with white linen clothes and silverware . Anyone who knows what it’s like going for a meal with a little one can image how good it felt to sit in the sun and enjoy a tasty starter in peace! When kiddo woke up a high chair appeared and a freshly cooked meal for her too. The food was excellent and the price for a set menu lunch was very good value. We will be back for sure! They made our day!

OMG what a gem! We got there completely accidentally, spotted on the way back home from the weekend away in this beautiful area. Although we just popped in and asked if we could have some lunch here without any warning, you better be booked before I say. The owner kindly agreed and only half an hour later we found out how lucky we were to get the table-the small restaurant filled out with prebooked customers in no time! Now, the most important: the food. What a poetry to our palates... I can't believe we did not have any space left for a dessert! Service as great as the food. Very highly recommended. Thank you guys, you made my little (first time for many years) gateway complete.
