Had a lovely dinner with a friend last night at The Sun Inn. I had the mushroom tartine (more like mushrooms on toast) which was the most delicious mushroom starter I've ever had. I had the venison for the main (a tiny bit dry but had a moreish gravy) and we shared the sticky toffee pudding which again was one of the best I've had (though needed a bit more sauce than was given). First time there and I would definitely go back.

To say that No15 is a jewel in Surreyâs crown would be something of an understatement. Since the revamp and rebranding of what was The Red Lion pub, a whole new experience awaits. The decor is modern with some quirky music memorabilia adorning the walls. Stunning glass house for lunchtime or lit evening dining which overlooks the stylish carp pond adjoining the main restaurant. I had pigeon and pheasant accompanied by a selection of old and new world gems. This place is another level.

Our friends had booked this place 3 weeks before our visit as they had gone there quite a few times, well on arrival we were concerned, went to the bar to check in only to be ignored! We looked at each other with concern, then eventually they abruptly asked if we had a reservation which we confirmed, we were then lead to to forgotten table which was in a little area next to the toilet, front door, constantly ringing takeaway phone, which was never answered and not even in the main restaurant! More looks of concern and a common of âwe are going to be forgotten hereâ well how true that was, after 10 to 15mins waiting for a menu or drinks to be ordered eventually a server came complaining how busy they were and asked if we had been given menus, no came the answer and off she went, when she came back with the menu she the disappeared saying she would be back to take drinks order, why she couldnât take them then I donât know, 10-15 mins later she came back to take our drinks order, we were also ready to order our food but she just ignored us and off she went, eventually got our drinks and managed to order food, all the while trying to have a conversation with the front door banging shut the constant stream of people using the toilet and the hand drier going off and that damn takeaway phone! After a long wait we eventually got our food, nothing to write home about, my penne chicken in spinach was bland with chicken that was cooked fresh in little strips, my wife only got two little pieces of chicken in her pasta! Eventually they came back to clear the plates that had been on the table for some time and asked if we want the dessert menu, after sitting an age we gave up the will to live and getting any dessert so decided to pay and leave! Oh and the latte with no coffee taste tipped it off lol, wonât be coming back poor food , extremely poor service and a wasted night.

Popped in today while my daughter was at a party. I was blown away at how delicious the food was, I had a ham and cheese toastie that was next level - really smoky ham, oozy cheese and sweet chili sauce. Then had a choc chip cookie slice filled with marshmallow fluff. Heaven! Chai late was top notch too! Highly recommend. Iâll be back even though Iâm not from the town!

We have visited Roots on a regular basis since we moved to Horsell three and a half years ago. We have always had excellent food and service, so we were sorry to discover that they are closing due to a huge increase in rates. We shall miss our visits and the delicious food.

This is a genuine, family run restaurant. Itâs our familyâs favourite, the one we return to again and again. Because they change the menu occasionally itâs never lacking in choice. Food to die for and great service. Itâs amazing although totally unassuming from the outside. Please try it. You will be seriously impressed. I shouldnât be telling you this because I want to keep this gorgeous place all to myself!

Really good meal at the White Hart on Saturday evening. Some good skill levels displayed by the chef, who clearly has a very good understanding of flavour (and seasoning). Sounds basic, but itâs something which is lacking in most other places in the area. My chicken curry was exceptional, as was the duck ramen enjoyed by the rest of the group. The poached pear dessert was a welcome light option for dessert, and well executed. Reasonably priced relative to the quality too. There is much to love here. The real ale beer choice is always fantastic. You see the same friendly staff faces each visit too, which is always a good sign, and the WH is ably marshalled by the unflappable Stan. Although the pub is part of a large chain, the way it is run makes it feels way more like an owner operated local, which is why I pass by closer options to go there.

Whenever we visit our son we treat ourselves to a meal from Amish. Having eaten there when it was a sit down restaurant we continued to have take away food and have not have been disappointed. We had Chicken Passanda, Lamb Sag and Lemon rice. The portions were generous with plenty of meat. Looking forward to our next meal!

Lovely spot for lunch to watch the planes if you have a couple of days on your hands, service was incredibly slow despite it not being particularly busy. Would recommend getting your order in the day before! When the food finally arrived almost an hour after ordering it was overpriced rubbish. If we had been warned it would be been over an hour for a cheese toastie and a dismal fry up we wouldnât have bothered.

We went as a special date night treat - our first since having a baby. The staff were very lovely. I felt the food tried really hard to be something it wasn't. We had the tasting menu but some courses were slightly underwhelming, underseasoned or unbalanced. A shame as I feel the effort was there but needs a bit more experience to be better executed. Prosecco had a dead bug in it but this was promptly replaced. The most disappointing thing about the experience was that the owner/co-owner was there with his two kids. There was only one other table dining apart from us. He made an absolute show about how he was the owner and was actively berating the young staff member in front of us. Whether this was because of bravado or some such I have no idea but it was SO cringe to witness and absolutely ruined our dinner. This is not how you behave in public, and definitely not if you're the owner. For that reason (and not the food) I will not be returning.

I really love this old pub, the atmosphere is great and for a beer it is perfect. However the food is a bit mediocre - filet steak and pork that is dry and over cooked, deserts that felt re-heated. Wine was great, but service on this day was average at best.

Absolutely amazing buffet restaurant! Delicious food, vast selection and impeccable service. They use a different system where you sit at your table and tick items on a little piece of paper, and the waiters bring the food you have chosen to you! I find this much better than the traditional buffet set up of everyone getting up and wading through the crowds for food that's been sat there for who knows how long and been touched by who knows how many people đ it's not the cheapest of places, but it's not too expensive either, and it is absolutely worth it!
