This is my go to fish n chip shop never had a bad experience food is always cooked to perfection, friendly staff, for a takeaway I can not fault.

The fish & chips we had from the Happy Fish Bar were excellent and the staff were polite & friendly. The food was freshly cook while you wait and the portions especially for the chips were very generous and filling

Never had bad food from here, been using them for 16 yrs, each time we are happy with delicious fish and chips.

I have to write this as yet again have used this chip shop and been more than disappointed. When freshly cooked the food is okay. Years ago, fish was skinned, but not sure about now. That was a bonus. As others say, large portions of chips, but no good if they’ve been sitting there, keeping warm. This was my local chip shop and have been going there for many years, but it’s pot luck, very hit and miss, and time of visit determines the quality of the food. We’ve tried all permutations! In the past we’ve been served, warmed up items early evening, just after opening.On one occasion we had to take food back. Another time threw it away. If you go in probably 1/2 hour after opening, the food, providing freshly cooked, is good, but when time goes on I can only presume that the food is left sitting there! Battered sausages served recently were like rubber with terrible batter, and fish cakes, hard, terrible! The chips were scrappy. It’s just not good enough! The other shops in the area cook to order, so that the food is fresh. It’s no use serving loads of chips if they are not nice! Some of the food is cooked when they open it seems and left in a cabinet. If you go in at around 1pm this problem can occur, the fish at that time is cooked to order, we think, it’s more the sundries that sit there for a long time. We’ve had fish that’s terrible and sausages also fish cakes. Hadn’t been for a long time before this visit, but no change so will not return any time soon. Having said this the people are pleasant and it’s a very clean environment.

Very quick service and the portions are very good as well. freshly cooked and wrapped in paper unlike the other takeaway places.Generous portions especially the chips. Cod is very good

A boring fish and chip shop selling boring food. Neither great nor rubbish, service was robotic, priced neither too cheap or too expensive, all in all just boring. It was like standing in a doctors waiting room but getting a bag of chips at the end rather than an examination.

Probably the worst fish and chips.......ever!!! The fish was old, overcooked and covered in stodgy batter. Asked for a small chips and got a very large portion of greasy chips! Managed 3 mouthfuls and threw it away.....realise now why the shop was empty......avoid!

Always consistently good we drive to the Happy past our local fish n chip shop as we like this better. Staff are always friendly and food is a good portion and freshly cooked.

We love Happy Fish Bar, always excellent quality. Particularly great chips!! Only downside is it's not open Sundays. Don't change a thing :)

This is my local fish and chip shop. I've tried others but this is by far the best. The fish is well cooked and is a very good size and the chips are crisp and fluffy in the middle. The portions are huge with a small being able to feed 4 of us. The staff serve with a smile and wrap the meal in paper and not those horrible polystyrene trays. Fish and chips as it should be.

Best Fish and chips in Guildford and Woking(in my opinion). No thrills and spills, no polystyrene boxes..just good old fashion fish and chips wrapped in paper.. Massive portions and always hot out of the Friars! Been going there for years and won't go anywhere else.

HFB's fish and chips are very good but I always have to remember to order less as the portions are so big..
