Kim's Plaice in Surrey Heath

I have bought F&C here before but for takeaway and was suitably impressed. This time I & a friend used the restaurant and it didn't disappoint. I tend to compare with places I used as a kid in the 1950s-60s. We lived in Hull were the fish jumped out of the trawler and onto your plate. Kim's fish measured up nicely... Indeed Kim served us and was most helpful. I had haddock, chips and mushy peas; my companion has cod, salad & mushy peas. We ordered the medium size fish and that was more than enough. My haddock was marvellous; really tasty. Kim served us quickly and was pleasantly sociable. Certainly we will visit again and I will restart my regular takeaway. Oh, and I appreciated the message In the picture frame about "No WI-FI"...

Consistently good food. There's always a queue, so that tells you something!

Hi went there for lunch I had the large haddock and chips have not been there for some time exlent fish and chips and the waitress was very good 👌

Nice and busy chippy.. Food was good and fresh. Had Rythem serve us, pleasant n smiling.

A very generous looking portion of Plaice for each of us, with a good serving of chips and a very pleasant pot of tea. The fish was disappointingly thin when compared to the far more generous batter, but it tasted good enough and was reasonably good value.

Firstly didn’t appreciate finding a hair in the haddock..the batter was so soggy & very greasy..!! Chips limp & not crispy..& they were stuck to the fish..& loads of green skinned chips.. Very over priced..!! & overall not a nice experience..

Ordered fish and chips and sausage and chips for 4 adults and 2 children. Not a cheap order. Unfortunately, I was disappointed as were other family members who go here all the time. The chips were cold and limp and not cooked well.

Really good place for 🐟 and 🍟 whether you want take away or eat in. The eat in section is small but cosy and the service is excellent.

Love a cheeky f&c, who doesn’t? Lived in Surrey over 20 years now and concluded it’s not the natural preserve of the chippy. Many to choose from but only found average at best, unless you’re up for going gastro and all the money. Could this all have finally changed tonight? Kims was recommended to me by a colleague and just had comfortably the best inland haddock & chips I can remember. Quite excited at the prospect of a guilty pleasure making a welcome reappearance 👍

Just bought some fish and chips, the chips were burnt or they looked refried as well as the cod and both were very oily. I thought it was a one off as it was the same 2 weeks ago even my son today said the chips taste funny

Great food and great service. I had the best fish supper I've had in years and the onion rings were superb. The dipping sauce which came with the onion rings was fantastic.

Still cross town passing other chippies to get here, ...in need of fish and chips tonight...thankfully they open at 5pm on Mondays. Best chip shop I've EVER been too.

Came across it by chance. 1st class fish & chips, cooked freshly to order. Very reasonable price, will be returning. Only negative is that they need to know how to brew up 🫖. Went again early November 23. Still the best fish& chips around definitely worth a visit.

Lovely fresh chips.. crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and plenty of flavour. Worth the few minutes wait, friendly service and reasonable price.

We've found our new fish and chip shop! So pleased to have found this place in our new neighbourhood. We've ended up coming three weeks in a row! Fair prices, generous portions and delicious food! The fish and chips isnt really greasy but it's full of flavour. Staff always working very hard. I recommend coming early and be prepared to queue, but it's worth it!

Kim's is the best chippy around by far, with great staff and great service. Has an old school chip shop look and feel, everything me, my family and friends have ordered has been very tasty and would definitely recommend 100% 10/10

Ordered takeaway for family visit for ‘London’ themed celebration. The Fish & Chips were great everyone said they were this best fish and chips they’d eaten. We had to change the order a few times due to extra additions to the celebration but none of this was too much trouble for Kim’s Plaice. They provided great service and delicious food.

The lady and the stuff there are Absolutely fantastic... Since one friend of mine recommended to us this place we visit it every week.. The best fish and chips ever...highly recomended

Great little takeway, we wanted a change from Pizza Thursday in the office, so decided on Fish & Chips, portion sizes were great, not to greasy, we would highly recommend and will be back for another Fish & Chip Thursday.

Popular friendly chippy offering well cooked traditional range of fish , pies, etc. Small restaurant is also popular. Long queues at busy times is the only disappointment

I went to Kim’s today 21 april at 12.15. I bought 2 cod 1 chips and mushy peas. It was so disappointing and was very greasy and tasted like yesterday’s. The fish was very flat like it had been refried. I’d bought the meal for my elderly parents and when we opened it at home we tied it and threw it in the bin. They have been there before in the evenings and said it was nice. But not today.

Super fast service, queues were long(means it's a great place) but staff were outstanding in handling a lot of big orders. Food is delicious, fish was perfectly cooked!

As it's cold out @ the mo., treating myself 2 a sit down meal of haddock, chips, mushy peas & a beer. Yet another good plate of hot food str8 from the 'kitchen'. Well worth it, as a treat : very good sit down service. What more can I say.

Great for a meal anytime. It was our first time eating here today and we loved it! I had cod and chips with mushy peas, pot of very hot tea and bread and butter, my kids had chicken quarter and chips and burger and chips and the food was delicious and we will certainly go back to Kim’s Plaice. They do a song and dance if you ask for the "Fringo Dingo Special". I also really appreciate the choice of having the fish dead or alive. Would recommend.

Probably the best fish and chip takeaway in the South of England. Worth a detour from anywhere. Huge portions very reasonably priced. Cannot fault them. 11/10 all the way.

Always decent fish and chips from here. Good sized portions and £10 for small cod, chips and mushy peas (£2 for mushy peas seems quite expensive but the meal overall is about the going price). One negative is that plastic bags are used to wrap the food. Fish and chips should never be wrapped in plastic as the trapped steam causes the food to go soggy - please use only paper bags which will also reduce unnecessary plastic waste!

Had the Kims special in the restaurant. Cod and chips, Mushy peas, slice of bread & butter and a pot of tea for £9.95. The food was top class and the tea pot was good for 21/2 cups. Great value for money and prompt service.

I had read about it and I took the chance we were close by to go and have lunch. It's worth every single star.

Now our first choice even though we have to pass 2 other fish and chip shops to get there, always busy, but served quickly, which speaks volume.

I've had take away and sat in the restaurant part for Haddock and chips. Good portions and it's well cooked. Service is friendly and helpful. will continue to come here when in the area.

Was at an event at Farnborough recently and wanted to find some fish and chips on the way back, found this one that had a dine-in area, seemed very popular judging by the queue for takeaway! Had some lovely scampi and chips, which came with salad and coleslaw - very nice and good price, service was excellent!

A great little Fish and Chip shop. The staff are very welcoming and there is a huge amount of food to choose from. They also have a restaurant available, which is perfect for taking the whole family to.

Visited Kims Plaice yesterday and dined in. Was delighted with the friendly reception by the staff. Sat at at spotlessly clean table and environment with pleasant decor. Even the aquarium was sparkling and clear. Great menu with sensible good value prices. Both waitresses were charm personified and very attentive. They would both be able to get jobs in the most exclusive of restaurants. As for my Haddock and chips, I have to score them at 11 out of 10. I only hope that future visits will be as perfect as I intend to be a regular.

Really disappointed to be writing this as we used to love Kim's Plaice, we always thought it was good portions & good quality food. Our last two visits however have been extremely disappointing. The food has been so oily its soaked through all the paper & the fish has dissintergrated when serving. Last visit we thought was a one off hitch but tonight has disappointed again. The attached picture is supposed to be a large cod. Sadly I don't think we'll be returning.

Gorgeous fish 'n' chips : they do Rock, which is a fav of mine - more PPl should try it, as it has more flavour than Cod IMHO. Good sized portion of chips as well. Tasty sausage & saveloys as well. My new fav. chippy in the local area. The staff R v.pleasant 2 talk 2 as well. Very good customer service.

We preordered 30 portions of fish & chips for delivery on a Saturday night. The food arrived on time, in individual boxes along with cutlery and sauces. The food was still hot and delicious. Everyone agreed that Kim's Plaice serve excellent fish & chips. They are our 'go to' local fish and chip shop.

Collected Gluten free fish and chips and they were delicious !! We were finding it so hard to get Gluten free things as a take away and it was definitely a very good find !!

As they say quality will out, 1 of the few chippies locally that does Huss or Rock Salmon, nice batter on it as well, not caked in it & well cooked. Good sized portion of chips, not 2 much, just enough. Very pleasant staff, both on the counter & the fryers as well. Great bit of banter included. U can't beat a local business, they need all the support WE can give them.

If you think the takeaway is good then wait until you try the restaurant. Absolutely superb with lovely attentive staff. Kim's Place is a gem.

Great plaice to eat best fish and chips I have had for ages. Looked online for reviews and was not disappointed at all. We had cod and chips and the chips were large chips and lovely and hot. Fish batter was crispy and delicious. Kids loved there chips as they were light and fluffy inside.

We were recommended to Kim's Plaice by a friend and certainly weren't disappointed! The owner was super friendly & welcoming, the establishment looked clean & well run and the food was delicious! Can highly recommend.

One of our areas top fish and chip shops, busy so always find food freshly cooked, and whilst I love their fish and chips I some times spoil myself with spam fritter and chips 🙂
