Whenever we visit our son we treat ourselves to a meal from Amish. Having eaten there when it was a sit down restaurant we continued to have take away food and have not have been disappointed. We had Chicken Passanda, Lamb Sag and Lemon rice. The portions were generous with plenty of meat. Looking forward to our next meal!

Extremely disappointed tonight with our takeaway. The two meat dishes were tough and overcooked. Was really looking forward to this meal all week, expensive meal as well for two people. In the past we always had nice meals here. But tonight meal was not good at all.

We had heard some good comments about this restaurant so we thought we would try it but we found it to be dissapointing with average food which was over priced. Our bill for two with one glass of wine a bottle of water and non alcoholic beer came to £93 ! ... we ordered nothing special ....the service was good in fact too good as we could have been finished and out in 45 mins so we feel we were rushed as maybe as we had an early table they were double booking ! My chicken dish literally had 4 pieces of chicken in it and my wife’s lamb was so tough it was inedible. The best dish were the popadums and relishes. Staff were very pleasant but the food was rubbish. All in all we won’t be returning.

A beautiful and charming restaurant with fabulous curry dishes, the choice was excellent, everything appeared to have fresh ingredients and be individually spiced. The poppadum came quickly with the usual pickles and sides and the starters were also fresh and quickly delivered. The only slight issue was that we felt a little rushed to place our orders, but it as a busy weekend evening and I guess they were hoping to refill our table. A little expensive compared to other curry restaurants but the quality of the food made it worth it.

We visited in a large group on a Saturday evening. Many of our group had visited this restaurant before and rate it highly. Unfortunately our experience didn’t reflect this, so not sure we would visit again. Negatives 1. Staff were not at all welcoming when we arrived and the same disinterested attitude continued all evening. 2. We were squeezed into a raised area near the front door. Every time someone got up to go to the toilet, pretty much the whole table had to manoeuvre to let them out! 3. Jalapeño starter - avoid. Was expecting something exciting with some paneer cheese. However this starter was pretty much identical to the jalapeño poppers served up by pizza chains (crispy crumb, cooked from frozen I would guess?) - plus only 4 small ones too - poor value for money. 4. Fizzy water was flat. They did take it away but didn’t check that it was taken off the bill. 5. Mains were ok - not wow though considering the prices Positives 1. Clean restaurant with new clean menus 2. Good Saturday night atmosphere (buzzing) 3. Enjoyed the poppadoms and chutneys- very fresh

Just grabbed a takeaway from Amish and one member of staff started shouting my name in the kitchen in what I can only imagine was an imitation of my voice having had a telephone conversation earlier. The guy at the counter looked embarrassed (especially seeing as the whole restaurant heard) and told me that the guy doing it was crazy and laughed nervously. I am so taken aback by the discrimination that I'm embarrassed to go back. I am local to this restaurant and I support local business but this one can do one!

I have been eating here for many years. It is my go-to Indian restaurant. The thing is, how many times do you hear about Indian food, can be great, but can have off days? They change the menu to stop getting stale. The quality is very high and they keep it there. Not just hot curries, but the depth of taste. As a traveller to India over dozen times, this is authentic North Indian cuisine.

By comparison, the staff here were extra friendly. The menu has some lovely variations on traditional curry house dishes and each is delicious. We have been to Amish many times before as it is the best Indian in the area. We frequently take our friends there when they are visiting. But this particular visit merits special mention. It was a Monday so it was fairly quiet, but rather than just leaving us to choose from the menu the manger came to our table and spent time asking us what we particularly liked, and ended up saying not to bother with the menu as he would get a dish made to our specific needs. Well it was worth it. The sizzling plate of Kurai (I think that is how it is spelt) was just right with a mix of vegetables added that suited our tastes. It made us feel a little bit special, and next time, if our guests can't choose what to have from the already excellent choice on the menu, we will be able to impress them by getting a dish made to their tastes.

I visited this restaurant recently after not dining there for some years. It was very busy on arrival but we were seated quickly as we had previously booked. Our drinks orders plus poppadoms were taken after a few minutes but the waiter had to be reminded 10-15 minutes later that we still had not received any drinks. Throughout the evening I found the waiter service quite brusque. Our waiter wanted to take our food order at high speed which was ironic as we had a considerable wait between the starter and main courses. I cannot fault the food however, all our meals were very good. The portions are big, could easily have shared a main course if having starters or sides. I did ask the waiter's advise whether we needed to order a rice each as normally we would share. He recommended 1 per person but, even with a big appetite I do think 1 portion would have been ample for 2 people. Worth bearing in mind. I know it seems a tradition to have the portable hot plates brought to the table but with 4 people there was not much room for them. Overall the food was very good, couldn't fault it but the waiter service could have been a bit more personable. I fully appreciate they are under pressure when busy but this shouldn't really impact on the customers experience.

Amish is the best of the 2 Indians in Chobham by some margin. We go there and also order their takeaways fairly frequently. The staff are friendly and polite and also knowledgable about their menu to the extent that we often go on their recommendations without disappointment. Our last meal there was slightly marred by the attitude of some other diners towards the noise the 7 children we had with us were making. We are generally very sensitive to this and didn't feel the need to hush the children so felt it was unwarranted, particularly given it was about 6.30pm on a Saturday. Other than that, Amish rocks!

After reading some of the reviews on trip adviser I was expecting a superior Indian meal, I didn't get one, I was very disappointed.I had the mussels for a starter and they came in a thick satay like sauce, far too sweet for shellfish. I had the Chicken Tikka Rezala for main and was hit by the overwhelming vinegar flavour, very unusual. The dish itself was average, in fact everything was average, everything except the price. I have eaten in most of the Indian restaurants around the Camberley, Bagshot, Frimley Chobham areas and this is by far the most expensive so much so that I feel they must have overcharged us. When we questioned the bill the manager said that we had drunk a lot, well we go out as a group of friends and always drink about the same and have never paid so much! We have eaten here twice recently & the food has been very good, fresh & very tasty, from a comprehensive menu. The prices are above average no doubt, but as long as the food & service remains as good, we will continue paying I guess! The only thing we thought was not much good was the starter -very overpriced (£6.50) -'paper prawns'-4 prawns in pastry which could easily have been from a supermarket freezer, with a bit of garnish on the side & pretty tasteless. With regard to the restaurant itself, I would like to comment that the lighting is very dreary & ineffective to a good ambience & if the owners cannot remedy this, perhaps some candles on the tables & around the restaurant would make a big difference. There is usually plenty of parking outside. Would definitely recommend even if my review sounds a little negative-I guess I just think that to charge top notch prices everything needs to be top notch!

We had a table for two for an early sitting on a Satursday night. The restaurant is situated between a small block of shops and a garage so we found parking tight. We were given a two seater table towards the front of the restaurant but right by the table that they seat customers who are waiting for take-away orders so there was a constant stream of people. The restaurant seating is tight (and dark towards the back) so this is not a place for a candle lit intimate conversation! The food was good. The king prawn madras, chicken dansak and onion badjis were all good though we thought the dansak to be on the sweet side. The meal comes with a 10% service charge which has the usual disclaimer that it's optional but we all know it's not really so this is a trend I don't like in the village. The Sun Inn has the same thing so we choose to avoid that restaurant for that reason. Overall we thought our experience was only average. The food was above average but service charge, tight seating and parking means there are always going to be better options available and make this place an occasional visit rather than a regular one

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, dishes were nice- some were unusual for an Indian restaurant, so it was nice to try something different. Meal for two including one beer was nearly £80 without desserts... I'm not against paying more for a good meal but the price didn't match the meal suitably and it was a bit of a sting to get the bill at the end of the meal.

4 Pappadoms, 2 mains, one rice, one dahl, two glasses of wine and small bottle of beer was around £55. Although the food was tasty and the staff courteous and the service timely - it still seemed a little expensive for a curry?

Has our first take away from this restaurant. I collected the food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However we were disappointed with the food. We both found the food too sweet and the sauces too thick. Did not seem truly authentic to us. I note that others have said that the "eat in" food is much better than the "take away" - I hope that is the case but in my view there are other , better Indian restaurants nearby.

Ate in the restaurant which seems to be different quality food from the takeaway (which can be a bit watery and loaded with spring onions). Great ambience in there, very attentive staff. would definitely go back, not so sure about a take out though.

Cracking Indian restaurant, come here once every 8/10 weeks and never been disappointed. We eat at the restaurant but they also offer a takeaway service. You wouldn't call it a cheap option but it's definitely value for money and worth a visit.

We have been going to this restaurant for several years now and are yet to have a bad meal, service when busy can be a bit slow, but the food is always good and well worth the wait.

Its has been a while since we last visited the Amish. Even on a Friday night when all the pubs around were very busy the Amish was to say the least very quiet. The food was extremely average and the decor becoming tired. I think i will use the opposition, Indo's, next time.

It may not look much from the outside - but Amish serves very good food in a pleasant environment. If you like hot food - the Jal Mirchi (made with Naga chilis) is particularly good. The flavour and heat slowly build and give a very long lasting but spicy effect. The service is very efficient and friendly but discreet. The only minor criticism I have is that the tables are a little bit too close together for comfort. Overall though a good find. Well worth a visit.

We are spoilt for good Indian food in the Woking area. Amish is no exception. Parking outside, spacious inside, although when it is very busy I think the tables could have a little more space between them. Food is very good, served by attentive staff.

Haven't been here for a while but the TA reviews were good so gave it another chance. I really wish that I hadn't. The food was poor quality and pretty indigestible. The green yoghurt sauce with the poppodums tasted of sugar, which I found bizarre. The portions were huge but the appearance of the food unappetising. The meat dishes quite obviously consisted of meat that had been pre-cooked some time before and then dunked in sauce when the order was placed. My chicken dish was supposed to be medium spiced but had brown, thick, oily sauce that had no heat at all and wasn't really spicy. The veg dishes were OK but not good enough to redeem the experience. I noticed the people at the next table were even less happy with their food than we were. To make matters worse the ventilation couldn't cope with the sizzling dishes served at the table, so you leave with clothes saturated in the smell of fat.Why average and not poor? Well I guess because this kind of inauthentic and generic stuff is what we've become accustomed to in the UK and this restaurant probably isn't worse than many others.

The food is very tasty, fresh and well cooked. Some dishes not as hot as the name suggests but probably good for all but the true afficianado. A little bit more expensive than most run of the mill Indians but the food is on another level. Many of the dishes are quite original in conception or at least a new twist on an old favourite. Great service, whether eating in or taking away. Realy suggest you give it a go
