Great local pub with delicious food to match. Came here several times with some friends for a roast. It was spot on every time!

Its started badly as we had to wait 15minutes to get the bottle of wine we ordered to drink and during this time kept getting asked if we wanted to order nibbles as the wine was taking so long, a blatant attempt to get us to spend more money. Several mains were off and then even though I had said repeatedly I could not eat chocolate and doubled checked there was not chocolate in the desert when it came it had load of chocolate in. You need to say this on the menu and tell your staff. In all, pretty poor.

In with a friend for a drink , yes we are regulars , waiting an age for a drink , new staff appalling, seem more interested in gossiping and the quiz , used to be great , what's happened ?

I’d been here with a friend just a week or so ago on Oct 2nd. We had a pleasant meal and the inside space looked lovely. The bar area is nice and our drinks and service were good. I went back yesterday with my wife and youngest daughter and the food was awful. Overcooked sea bass, overcooked hake and totally dried out venison. Those plates should not have left the kitchen. I didn’t complain. I don’t believe in spoiling the occasion. But if I’d been asked if I’d enjoyed the food I would have told them. I wasn’t. It’s such a shame but I’ll not be coming back.

Lovely pub in the heart of Chobham - delicious food and good value. We had the Sunday menu - delicious roasts with bottomless sides. The staff are very friendly too.

A great pub. Haven't been for quite a few months and thought the food had really improved, all the dishes we had were lovely. Service was as ever great (Tommy was out waiter last night).

I was invited by a British friend to visit. I heard that the content was a little more traditional until a few years ago, but I was satisfied with it. Every plate was a very complete meal. I ate pie. The apple crumble dessert was a little sour. The clerk was very kind and the service was good. They greeted us with a smile and made us feel at ease even though we didn't understand English. thank you very much.

Wonderful staff ,the best rump steak ever . It was a delight to be there. Dog friendly .Good beer and a free bottle of red with the meal .! Even the other customers charming . Fantastic pub .

The Sun Inn, this was a tricky one for me and required quite a few visits. I'm delighted to say it has positively grown on me each time and I do genuinely think you should try it out if you haven't already. Its a tardis yet feels cosy and upmarket all in one. I worked from there for an afternoon in a corner and would definitely return to do this again as it was perfectly easy to be out of the way and still steps away from anything I needed. They play good background music, which is nice. They did make me a 9/10 long island ice tea (with egg nog), which I highly recommend. The food here is very well presented and truly flavoursome. I always thought of this place as a French restaurant, and as that's not my cup of tea, I kind of avoided it. However, the French onion soup is to die for, so I'm coming round! The staff are always very helpful and polite, even if they don't know how to make the drink you asked for. The car park is tiny and the road it's on is pain in the brass but I'm sure those horse and carts managed just fine years ago, so I won't grumble. I usually park on the street to avoid disappointment on entry! Great pub.

Only eaten here on a Sunday, so I’ve only ever experienced the Sunday Roast menu. It’s great. Bottomless sides as standard is a really nice touch!! I always get more gravy and roast potatoes. I live local and always choose the Sun as my Sunday Roast go to!

This is a great place and better than it’s ever been in its past ownership’s. Wonderful menu served by people who engage with you, very professional and a great experience - well worth a visit.

This restaurant ticks all the boxes AND open for lunch all afternoon which was perfect for us when we broke down and missing our lunch date

We just had an early dinner in this lovely gastropub and sat in the garden, which is very pretty. Food was really good and the service from our waiter Tommy was top notch. Would strongly recommend this, very happy it's local to us and will definitely be back very soon.

Been going here for years sadly its gone down hill , service slow although they were not busy 20mins before we got a drink, the outside space was uncared for and shabby tables not laid, it was a summers evening. Prawn cocktail usually good was limp and soggy no crunch, tge signature cheese souffle was dry and cold the burger was just ok, steak was ok. We were charged for a bottle of wine not a carrafe but they did rake the whole thing off the bill ! I'll definitely wont be going back for a while

We were a party of 14, but with 7 excitable and noisy children and the staff were magnificent in coping with our chaotic group.

Really friendly service, everyone smiled and made us feel welcome. Good direction from when we walked in and how to order. Food was faultless and the pistachio souffles are a must! I think simple table service would offer the team a better opportunity for tips, especially in such a well run establishment.

Had to wait an hour for our food which was undercooked and lacking in flavour.

I went here today with my son and daughter in law. We had a lovely lunch. It's a lovely old building with lots of character. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was of a very high standard with a huge choice of dishes. I had the prawn cocktail to start and the crab as a main, filled by rhubarb crumble and ice cream. We all agreed the food was delicious and would highly recommend a visit.

I have been here many times and every time the service, food and atmosphere has been consistently high. Honestly, the staff are soooo welcoming, polite and knowledgeable. The prices of the food is really not much higher than many lower quality restaurants I’ve been to but the quality of food and the amazing staff is leagues above. You can even come with your dog… my favourite restaurant by a long shot. Parking can be limited but there’s a large village hall car park five minutes walk away which I look at as some extra steps added to my step count - win win!

Lovely service and food, the waiting staff are a cut above

We enjoyed a fabulous birthday lunch at the Sun Inn (thank you to the whole team). The food was delicious (more Michelin star restaurant than gastropub), the wine list was excellent, the team - delightful (so charming and helpful) and the ambience was vibrant yet relaxed (lots of friends and families having fun); we are thrilled to have found this lovely pub and will - most certainly - be back soon.

We had a good experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent, but we noticed that the portion sizes were small in comparison to the high prices. We would consider coming back for drinks, but we won't be returning for the food due to the high prices. The quality of the food itself was great though.

Few nice drinks here, plenty of non alcoholic beers to choose from. I didn’t have food but it looked nice

Our second visit and every bit as enjoyable as the first. What a great team front of house (thank you Tommy) and the kitchen are brilliant too. The starter of pumpkin risotto could easily have been bland but instead was a delicious triumph. Their lamb is just the best, and the Sunday roast beef tender, lean and cooked to perfection. If you visit don't miss the souffle starter and dessert.

We’ve just had a most memorable meal at the Sun Inn. Excellent food and service - much higher than average. Varied and not your usual menu, beautifully cooked and presented by very personable young staff.

Food is okay. Nothing special. But not too bad for the pub. Service is okay too , but unfortunately … I was unlucky with our waitress smashing my expensive handbag on the floor. I know it’s an accident…. but I felt very angry but of course didn’t let it to be seen. I mean I think Any lady will understand me……. So maybe it makes sense for the staff to be a bit more careful when moving around customers….. Yet to check on a daylight if the bag got any scratches….

Our family of four adults have had the most amazing Sunday roast at the Sun Inn today. We all chose the beef and oh my goodness I’ve not had beef like it. It was like velvet and just melted in your mouth. We had extra potatoes and Yorkshire puddings as part of the bottomless deal. Christine our server was so friendly and helpful. Next time we’re in the area we will definitely visit the Sun Inn again.

Classic, cosy pub with quirky corners and ample seating indoors. Parking isn’t large, but sufficient. Food & service up to standards expected. Dog friendly - BONUS!

I organised a fairly large lunch event for neighbours. Big thanks to everyone, especially to Kayleigh and Patrick on the day for making it all run so smoothly.

Great food and friendly service. Didn't feel rushed despite it being the run up to Christmas. Only downside was they don't take cash.

Lovely old pub in Chobham, very busy place. Hard to get a table, we booked a table for Sunday lunch, the food was very nice but could have been a bit more of it (a bit small) for the price they charge.

The Sun Inn is an absolutely beautiful place to go for either drinks, lunch or dinner. My Father and I went for lunch and the food was just amazing, the flavours just burst in your mouth. The staff were very attentive and couldn’t commend our waitress enough. I had the vegetarian dish of a halloumi burger and my Father had the beef burger. It was wonderful, even if it was just burgers! I love chobham itself as I grew up here, it’s a very untouched village and reminds you of the old days! There is parking but it is quite small, there is off street parking and a car park towards the end of the village. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately neither at booking online or on arrival, were we advised that cash payment was not accepted. If we had known we would not of visited.

Had a lovely lunch with friends from work, celebrating two of our birthdays. There was a very small mix-up with our order and subsequent bill but it was rectified quickly and we were compensated generously for the mistake. First class service.

I have been passing by for a while and we decided to come for a Sunday roast last minute. What an amazing atmosphere, great service and delicious food! A place to come for a date, for a family dinner or for just drinks! Clean and beautiful! Lovely countryside pub! Will definitely be coming again!

Lively pub restaurant, great food

We had a good albeit late lunch here today. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The menu catered for all. We ate halloumi burgers followed by sticky toffee pudding. The food was well prepared. The dining area was light and airy. The whole place was clean and well presented.

Fui con mi familia y pedimos el sunday roast de pollo y, siendo la primera vez que lo comía, me gusto muchísimo. El local es muy bonito y acogedor por dentro pero fuimos en domingo y estaba un poco lleno entonces había bastante barullo pero eso es normal y no es culpa del local, solo significa que a la gente le gusta y por eso se llena :)

What a find! I went to the Sun Inn quite late (around nine o’clock) after a long day at Thorpe Park, hoping they were still serving. I was delighted to be able to sit at a table without the usual migraine inducing spotlights over my head. This is so unusual these days! The food was stunning, being beautifully presented, of high quality, and cooked to perfection, while the staff were just delightful. Well done!

Very nice meal but limited selection of desert. We ordered roast beef, 2 plates were soft and tender while the 3rd one was a complete different cut and very raw. We told the waitress about it and that we were slightly disappointed as my son couldnt enjoy his food. The service was friendly

They don't accept cash. We didn't know. At the end they let us pay by cash but it had to be for the exact money. But it was not a problem.

We have been to the Sun Inn several times over the years and have always been amazed by the attentive and friendly staff. For a team so young they do deliver a mature level of service. Apart from the service the quality of food & wine, presentation, ambience have all been very good. We invited friends of ours who were dining here for the first time and they too were impressed. We did have a couple of awkward moments with a forgotten order and an embarassing mix up with bills but the manager sorted it out and assured us it will not happen again. When we are in the area again we will definitely dine here.

We visited the Sun Inn for a light pre-Woking theatre meal and we were greeted with immediate eye contact and an enthusiastic welcome. The availability of draught beer was good, the meal was fine and the atmosphere was excellent and we felt 'looked after.' The staff were smartly dressed and clearly well trained and they worked together as a professional team. We've previously popped in to the Sun for a coffee - also a 5* experience.

We have eaten here many times and love the food, service and atmosphere. Last night however it was very disappointing. The restaurant was not busy but we were seated on a table with a view right into the kitchen. That wouldn’t have been so bad except the both kitchen and restaurant staff were shouting loudly together. It was hard to hear each other speak and really ruined the atmosphere for us. At times it was hard to get the attention of the staff. Eventually we took our remaining wine to the bar where the atmosphere did not improve. The staff were chatting together, clearing up and cleaning around us as if we were not there so we left. I don’t like writing these kind of reviews but I think it’s important feedback. The food was excellent and the waitress serving us was good but the atmosphere ruined it for us and quite honestly we wish we had stayed in. . Not the usual warm and friendly Sun Inn we are used to.

The beer was good, pub was good. But I used to work in a pub. And on a day like yesterday I was drinking and didn't even think about water. As a bar person ...remember this. It's gonna be hot this summer. Take care all

Fantastic food, great staff, quality service.

This is a nice place staffed by nice friendly attentive staff. I've had good and average food here. My recent visit was the latter. My chicken dish consisted of a roll of fairly tough chicken in a weak tomato sauce and half a courgette. About 8 mouthfuls for not far short of £20. Having said that, the cheese souffle starter was very excellent.

We were a large group of 10 and the dinner was excellent with every selection happily eaten. Cheese soufflé and escargots were the star appetizers. The lamb and t bone stand out mains, the desserts were all excellent - lemon tart, pistachio soufflé, rhubarb crumble, treacle pudding. An excellent time had by all
