The best restaurants in Thame South South Oxfordshire South East

Just about the worst takeaway I've ever had, cold, bland, inedible. Missing drinks and chicken in the burger was basically non existent. £25 for cardboard chips, no chicken chicken burger, I think we got the end of food that had been sitting there for the day. Really really disappointed. Shocking.

We’ve just had the best Mother’s Day lunch at the Black Horse in Thame. The service Ioana gave us was absolutely exceptional, she made the whole experience such a pleasure - thank you Ioana for looking after us so well. The food was brilliant - extremely tasty- we had roasts. My children have several allergies - diary / nut / sesame - so impressed as these allergies were not a problem at all. Often my kids miss out on eating the same as us - the Black Horse catered so well for them. They enjoyed the same meal as us and it was lovely to experience that. They even had such a fantastic wide variety of ice creams available - this is rare / don’t think we’ve ever seen them enjoy such a lovely selection of ice creams. Thank you. Thank you The Black Horse, we will be back - absolutely faultless! A perfect Mother’s Day lunch!

Not bean here yet . Expect going 12th October as nearest sit down Restaurant to my mum in Kingston Blount. However read the menu & looks exciting. Mother will like - no washing up . But not sure if at 93 years old she try Chopsticks. She does & it could be a Long Night.

Sunday lunch was so so tasty, loads of vegetables, potatoes were crispy to perfection. Very good customer service too!!!

If you are an ale drinker, avoid!!! The beer is shocking. Pub garden is nice, so I keep giving it a chance. Had 3 bad pints in a row now over a few weeks. Never again.

We came here to eat at the restaurant. The food was good, I'd say 4/5, but there were a lot of things that we found disappointing. The service was quite poor, it was almost a privilege to get some attention, and when you did the staff almost seemed surprised that were asking for something. The cutlery was blunt, making it almost impossible to cut through a roast beef dinner, the roast potatoes were quite underdone. We booked a table for 5 and only had 3 place settings, having to ask for the place settings to actually be made by the time the mains arrived (nothing given for starters).....really needs some improvement on the service side!

Awful food. We both had Sunday Roast, one chicken and one beef. The food was barely warm and had almost no vegetables (teaspoon of turnip). The beef was so tough you couldn't chew it. We had to hunt for some cutlery too. We have had lunch there many times in the past but won't eat there again.

Didn't warn us how long it would take to get a couple of bacon rolls to take away, lied about progress when chased, gave up and had to settle for a pastry after 25 minutes. Avoid

Every time I come to Thame I go here, always amazed at how friendly the staff is. Not to mention a nice flat white. Plenty of seats and right on the Main Street.

Unfortunately NOT serving lunch any more! NO PIES :( Only two real ales on, London Pride and Proper Job with crisps. Staff were friendly and attentive, shame, probably too many pubs in Thame?

Children’s sleepover and the mass crowd of kids made their decision to order a domino’s, can’t say as I was best pleased with their decision seeing as Domino’s can never seemingly send the correct order in previous experiences AND THIS WAS NO DIFFERENT! Was refreshing to see that they (Domino’s) had added some items to their menu, to the children’s delight, however this just seemingly gives them more to forget and more things to under cook! Having placed an £80+ order to feed the herds - was disappointing to not receive some of the items and the ones we did receive (chips and wedges mainly) just cannot be cooked properly, not for the first time either - ITS EVERY TIME! It says a lot when not even the children would eat them! Naturally, phoned and spoke to the shop and they were sending a driver to deliver the items not received and was told it would be 10minutes. After an hour and a half - NOTHING! Phoned again and just requested a refund instead (which was checked and verified with management) but still no refund received or apology for the poor experience. Such a shame it’s massively gone down hill - couldn’t beat a domino’s years ago….now they just send slop at a very expensive price! SUMMED UP - don’t use Domino’s….you’ll just waste your money and experience poor quality! Do what I do (when it’s not a mass sleepover full of children) and support the smaller brands - much better quality, at a much better price!
