So grateful we tried this amazing tea room. The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and ever so helpful. Table was spotless. Choice on the menu was wide and varied. We decided on the afternoon tea for three. Good old Yorkshire tea for starters then an amazing selection of finger sandwiches. Chicken, cheese, tuna and my favourite Hummus with salad. Wow. Scone ,jam and clotted cream. And the lovely selection of cakes. Definitely the top place for a afternoon tea. Will be back. Thank you.

Having family nearby, I go through Thame two or three times a year and Treacles is my go to for breakfast/early lunch. Why? Because I prefer independents to the chain coffee shops and because the food (and coffee) is great. Last visit I had the Breakfast Bap with Cumberland sausage. Fat, juicy and tasy sausage in fresh bread - who wants more? My wife had the Chicken, bacon and mayo toastie and was very happy. Add to that friendly, smiling staff and you have a good, fairly priced experience.

Really enjoyed my visit here! The staff that had served me were wonderful. A kind, warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was well presented, tasted fantastic and not massively expensive! I didn’t know what to choose from too! I’d looked up and down the street a few times looking for somewhere to eat that was more tasteful for this hot weather and I’m so glad it was here! Couldn’t be happier 💛 Thank you!

We visited yesterday and ordered two breakfasts. One full English and one vegan! However, the vegan breakfast was a personal choice as my wife prefers meat free sausages (she isn’t a vegan) therefore she added a fried egg! With three coeliacs and a wheelchair user in our group I stopped off to ask before we met the rest of the family for lunch and they assured me they provided gluten free food as well as having a ramp to allow access for the wheelchair user in our party. Very kindly they reserved a table for us and half an hour later we returned and had a very nice lunch. Although they had bread, there was no gluten free pasta on offer, so that would be the one thing I would suggest they have to go with the very nice bolognaise I had on a baked potato, but everyone enjoyed their meals and it was nice to be able to have a choice of cakes - four on offer that day. Great to have an accessible toilet with good grabrails as well. We will definitely be back!

Well where do I begin, having recently moved to the area I was intrigued by the local businesses. From the moment I stepped foot into treacles I was made to feel incredibly welcome by all members of staff. We went for brunch my partner went for a poached egg with avocado and bacon, she mentioned that it might be the best she had ever had and I went for a full english breakfast with extra bacon and a pot of tea, The meal was of excellent value made with fresh ingredients and we both could tell a lot of pride went into making it. I could not recommend this establishment highly enough. Popped in here for afternoon tea. The tea, sandwiches, cakes and scones were good and we enjoyed them. However the place looked as though it needed a really good clean. Table and chair legs, and skirting boards really dirty. Crumbs down the cracks in the wooden tables and the white crockery and cutlery just looked grubby. Perhaps their dishwasher had broken and someone wasn't doing a very good job by hand. However they were given a 5* food hygiene rating in January of this year so hopefully it's just a blip on the cleaning front.

During a recent stay on the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border, we ate here on two occasions, once upon arrival in the town, and then we returned for a more substantial snack meal on Sunday lunchtime. On both occasions the food was tasty, hot and served without undue delay; we did not feel that it was overpriced, either. However, on the latter occasion a considerable amount of coffee had been slopped into my saucer, and no move was made to deal with this. On both visits, we needed to ask for salad dressing. This was readily supplied, but I was puzzled that none was initially offered - do people really prefer their salad completely dry? The staff were attentive and treated us courteously. A final comment would be that although shabby chic is a recognised "look", there is sometimes a fine line between that and tattiness, and maybe some of the furniture, particularly downstairs, will need replacing before too long.

We always try to support independent tea rooms and are usually not disappointed. Sadly today we should have gone to Costa a few doors down. I was slightly surprised at the prices - £6+ for a 'mature cheddar and pickle sandwich' , I had certainly not expected the sliced supermarket bread and tasteless value grated cheese that we were presented with. The standard of staff hygiene was also doubtful, several of the girls had long hair which was not tied back and one member of staff was clearly feeling warm as they wiped their face and hair with paper towels behind the counter. I wish I could make one positive comment but I simply can't.

I visited Treacles Tea Room with my sister, mother and mother in law for afternoon tea and would thoroughly recommend it. We sat upstairs which is decorated to look like a dining room in a large house. It was clean and comfortable, the staff were really lovely - they seemed genuinely interested in ensuring their customer's enjoyment. The tea was nicely presented and the cakes and scones were home made and delicious. If you are visiting the lovely little town of Thame this is surely worth a visit!

First ever visit. Friendly staff, all smiley. Food plentiful and place clean. Made no fuss when I managed to make a mess. Toilets clean. Most enjoyable.

Bought a Groupon voucher for ourselves and friends and had a lovely visit to Thame where we enjoyed our afternoon tea. The sandwiches were good and there scones were excellent. A most enjoyable visit.

A very pleasant cafe with outdoor seating in the picturesque village of Dorchester on Thames, just outside Oxford. Parking is easy and there are horses and llamas to see in a neighbouring field. The food is tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. My salt beef sandwich was excellent, and my wife enjoyed her chocolate and walnut cake. The village and its abbey are also worth a visit.

Great lunch, really friendly team. Thanks so much. Honest lunch without all the jazz and bling you can get from other local restaurants and pocket friendly.

Nice cafe situated in the old bank. Staff are always pleasant and nice choice of cakes. Tea nicely served in pots on wooden trays and cakes nicely served on wooden platters. Reasonably priced. Tiffin cake was nice but a bit stodgy. Very dog friendly with free doggy treats. The cleanest toilet ever! Unfortunately there was an overpowering background chemical smell in the cafe. Would definitely visit again.

Visited twice this week. It’s a wonderful place with friendly staff. That’s why it gets so busy! There’s an area to work if you want, and an area upstairs with toddler books and toys as well as games you can rent for an hour or two. The coffee used to be lovely but I think they must be buying a different brand because this is foul - really bitter with a nasty aftertaste. It may be, of course, that the water is tainted (Thames Water have been adding more chlorine lately to overcome traces of sewage in the tap water) or that the machine is due for a clean. Whatever it is, I hope the coffee goes back to what it used to be! As I say, I visited twice this week and, both times, the coffee was awful. The cakes are quite delightful and the quiche I had yesterday was light and fluffy.
