Have dined here on more than one occasion and it's been satisfactory but with the odd hitch. Last year, the dish ordered was available and later the server returned to say it was not available - this can happen and it's not the end of the world. Last month, I ordered the lasagne and whilst well cooked it had a peculiar acidic taste which I assumed was a citrus "twist" and speciality of the house. Afterwards, however, noticed quite a lot of digestion discomfort. Am left uncertain as to a future visit. Staff were helpful and friendly.

I stopped here for a drink and a snack and had the most wonderful lunchtime. Atmosphere was cosy, warm and welcoming. Staff were just so lovely to me and all the other customers. Could not have been more helpful and kind. Honestly it was the loveliest experience and really made my visit to this fabulous town even more special. And the chips were amazing too! A huge thanks to everyone for looking after me.

It was a very pleasant place where we ate very fresh fishes very well coocked. I forgot my sunglasses on the table but only realized it when we came back to home in France. When I contacted them they sent me back my glasses in France and did not ask me to refund them. I found this behaviour really customer facing.

42nd Anniversary lunch was excellent. Started with a very nice chilled Cava. The crab starter and beetroot infused smoke salmon were a big hit, as were the main course of lobster and Lemon Sole (perfectly cooked).. Nice vibe about the place with good service. Desserts of Pavlova and Chocolate Ganache were a good effort but shows a lack of real patisserie knowledge. Overall though a 5 out of 5, because what we went in for (the fish) was outstanding. £145 inc tea and coffee not service charge was amazing value. I would highly recommend a visit.

Sadly not as good as usual. The coffee and toastie was its usual excellent and tasty self. Not the croissant filled with bacon and egg. The croissant was stale, the bacon mainly fat and a very tasteless watery egg. We have enjoyed several previous occasions with a breakfast bun filled with sausage and or bacon, always good but not this time. I suspect for first visitor it would be the last for breakfast. Coffee and cakes remain excellent.

We'd been planning to come here for months and took friends from outside the area. We should have tried it ourselves first. First Saturday after all the Christmas lights came on and the market stalls all opened up. The prices suggest a reasonable, respectable restaurant. (three course with wine + coffee = £50+ pp). We expected plates not plastic baskets. The lunch menu is very sandwichy (Burger bun, brioche, baguette etc. If you want other stuff (except steaks) you have to pre-book. They were out of burgers (NB this is Saturday early lunchtime!). We were told fries were included (we checked) then when the bill came we found out they weren't. The extra £16 could have bought some plates! The chorizo starter was very good, as were the Lomito steak sandwiches (apart from the plastic basket). Also, what's with "order at the counter" - is it a cafe or a restaurant (note prices)? Could be brilliant with not too much effort.

Travelling on Le Shuttle so had an evening to spend down at Folkestone Harbour Arm! Pleasantly surprised - lovely wee find at Brewing Brothers - fab pizza and beer/wine on a lovely summer’s evening! Pizza was great and reasonably priced plus doggy friendly too! Would recommend! The pebbly beach at Folkestone is lovely too.
