Really enjoy coming for a drink here when in Folkstone, always friendly and polite service with a smile. Really look forward to the live music events they hold ( i usually visit on Sundays ) and have great bands on various weekends through the year. Looking forward to the summer months.

I visited the pub with my son for lunch. We had fish and chips, wich tasted very good. The waitress was very unfriendly, tried to cheat with the change and kept on watching us, with a grim face. 😠

Great venue for music on a Sunday afternoon or just a stop off on a walk around the harbour

This pub sits in a fabulous position overlooking the harbour arm and english channel. You can stand outside and view the coast of France. It's a favourite pub of mine. They have good live music at weekends. Sports is shown on the screens. It's a comfortable, clean and welcoming pub. The staff are hardworking and really friendly. They have rooms avaliable. The food served is superb. The fish and chips are particularly delicious. Light, crispy batter covering a huge peice of fresh fish. I've had the haddock and cod. The chips are lovely along with the mushy or ordinary peas. A side of salad. Hot and beautifully presented.

Great location, good food and feels like a real pub

Fairly newly refurbished, The Ship now has a lovely ambience with a real fire which makes it cosy on cold winter nights. A warm welcome from the friendly and efficient staff, a great selection of beers and wines and a good size menu to choose from. Thoroughly enjoyable evening, we’ll be back!

Great pub, very atmospheric and nice pints. Has a classic nautical "pub" feel to it.

Only stopped for a black coffee for myself and a large brandy for my lady. The woman who served managed to use polite language (please/thank you) but couldn't raise a smile and certainly didn't make us feel particularly welcomed, nor want to return. As a result, we didn't ask for food so I can't comment on this. The general atmosphere seemed pleasant enough, nothing special but no reason to comment negatively or positively particularly.

Exactly what a harbourside pub should be. Welcoming, cosy, always a great atmosphere. A decent range of beers. The Harbour View ale that's brewed especially for this pub is a great session ale.

I stopped here for a drink and a snack and had the most wonderful lunchtime. Atmosphere was cosy, warm and welcoming. Staff were just so lovely to me and all the other customers. Could not have been more helpful and kind. Honestly it was the loveliest experience and really made my visit to this fabulous town even more special. And the chips were amazing too! A huge thanks to everyone for looking after me.

Pub with character….very friendly staff. We had BBQ chicken burger and fish & chips….huge portions, tasty and excellent value. We would deff recommend this pub to others.

A Traditional harbour side pub. We visited today, fairly busy for a cold dreary afternoon, clearly popular with locals (a bit sweary)and visitors. We enjoyed an Absolutely lovely late lunch of haddock and chips, the fish was delicious, a good size portion covered in a light crispy batter cooked to perfection. Thankyou

Brilliant food and both times we've visited the live music has been brilliant

Absolutely packed on our visit, possibly as the weather was great and the pub had a very good band playing. Have been several times before as service is brilliant as is the atmosphere

The staff mistreated me holding me against my rights

Had my drink that I paid for taken away from me, after my friend had smelled it , who had earlier forgotten his Id and was refused a drink , after explaining this, I was refused it back. They claimed they “saw him take a sip on camera”, I asked to see footage, yet they wouldn’t show me. Money gone down the drain. Wouldn’t recommend. Rude staff.

Visited today and had a fabulous lunch, all had fish and chips which was superb. Staff welcoming and we thoroughly recommend trying this place.

A clean and tidy pub, great location overlooking Folkestone harbour. The locally caught Huss and chips was good value at £11.95 and Doombar was well kept.Obliging service from the lady serving yesterday and I look forward to calling in when I visit Folkestone again.

Trip to Folkestone today and we came across the Ship and decided to go in for lunch. I had the cod and chips and my daughter the chicken chunks and chunky chips. Was absolutely lovely, cooked to perfection and piping hot. Welcoming staff and good food, what more do you want and a very reasonable price

Visited with my mum, who is very unsteady on her feet, the pub was busy but the landlady kindly helped us get her seated. We ordered food, which was reasonably priced, freshly prepared and very good. Would highly recommend!

Our go to pub for me and my mates when in deal, price of pints make this place already a no brainer but the service, atmosphere and most importantly the beer garden are as good as they come, cheapest you'll find in deal as well so not surprised it's so busy

Very quite little pub with a lovely outdoor area friendly staff and service. Didn't try any food as went quite late but customers seemed friendly and had disabled access.it was a place woth no music so u could have a conversation without shouting .

Stopped here for a bite to eat and a drink Lovely little traditional pub which overlooks the beautiful harbour and is obviously a popular place with the locals We had the cod a chips which was cooked to order so was piping hot and tasted delicious and a generous portion that neither of us could finish

Good pub with a great atmosphere and they serve Proper bitter has well.

So thought I’d go for a pie and mash as I’d previously had a half decent pie here in the past. Well the plate got put infront of me and the portion size appears to have shrunk massively. Sent back, refund issued, no thanks, won’t be returning. Seems to be an ongoing theme amongst the L&B group of restaurants.

I just ate the best haddock and chips ever. Superbly prepared and presented. Fantastic locals pub right on the Folkestone quayside. The service here is excellent because the staff are so friendly and helpful. They even gave me lemon for a mozzie bite. 😂

I wanted to grab a quick Coke and leave, I was wearing shorts and a bikini top, the woman at the bar insistently repeated 2-3 times that she couldn't serve me because I was wearing a swimsuit. I didn't pay much attention, but as I was leaving, men with naked bodies and towels around their necks were coming in, I'm not sure if they did the same to them. You're a business on the beach, these kinds of customers shouldn't be abnormal, and the woman said this isn't the beach as if she was giving me a lesson in civilization. After I walked away, I realized that they were actually sexist. I think it's shameful and disgraceful.

A wonderfully classic "Ye olde Pub". Can't wait to go back there. Not many traditional pubs left because of franchising rubbish. Support this classic pub or loose it, was what everyone one outside was saying ! Opposite a traditional fresh fish, cockles etc van ( Bob's seafood stall). Loved it so much I would give it 10 stars 🌟. And beautiful view's of the sea and harbour with all its fishing vessels docked in the bay. Highly recommended it for real Ye Oldie experience 👌

A nice friendly pub right by the harbour

Stopped in for peppered quid starter, and cod and chips mains! It was delicious! With 2 pints of Guinness, it was less than £30! Fantastic harbour view, and great service! Highly recommended !

A really nice and stylishly decorated pub right on the harbor. The ambience is really nice.

Had a lovely few nights staying here. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Sandwiches and fish and chips were all lovely and very reasonably priced. Great location too.

On a wet, weekday, when business is slow, and people with dogs ask if it's ok to come in and eat, maybe you should allow said people in. Lost business in this present economic climate, must hurt any business, especially when people read Google reviews. Also said dogs are very well behaved! I would have left half a star if it was possible.

Great location, very friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere, both during the day and at night. Our room was excellent, spotless and quite spacious with a great view over the harbour. There may be some noise from the pub if there's live music on but we were told about it on checking in. It was all quiet by 11pm so not really a problem.

Nice pub, always busy, especially on a sunny evening. Can get a few rough types lurking at the bar, but that adds to the character!

We booked two rooms. Met by very friendly and welcoming lady behind bar. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Dinner was excellent as well. Be warned huge portions. Only down side was they wouldn’t accept Scottish notes due to forgeries. Ummm. More likely to have English forgeries. Machines today are a worthy investment to spot forgeries. Apart from that would thoroughly recommend The Ship Inn

Very friendly staff and also the prices were very reasonable too. Must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal. Plus the outlook from the window is very pleasing too as it looks out on the harbour.

We stayed here as we were in Folkstone for a friends birthday celebration, very clean room, great value and great location. The pub in also great, would definitely recommend.

We stayed overnight with two rooms booked. both were immaculately clean, and very well presented. ours had a full sea view across the harbour, English Channel and French coast. The staff were exceptionally helpful and nothing was too much trouble. we spent the first afternoon in the bar, with live music and a friendly atmosphere. A really great traditional British pub, right in the harbour side, great food and great drinks. highly recommend it.

Lovely pub right on the harbour with a lovely atmosphere inside. Good selection on tap, and friendly staff. It was very busy when I visited, but luckily we had been told beforehand you can get takeaway cups, which turned out to be true, so we sat just outside along the harbour with our drinks enjoying the sun.

A brilliant, independent free house. Welcoming locals and visitors alike, The Ship is just exactly what you want whilst visiting Folkestone. But if a 6 out of 5 rating was possible, it would go to the burger! Perfectly cooked, a lovely brioche bun, reasonably priced and served promptly. (Other dishes are available) !

This is a PUB, a good, old fashioned boozer. I love it. Loads of wood, glass and atmosphere. Staff are nice people. Small food menu, reasonably priced. Don't have the sandwiches if your on a diet. Please don't let it change.

Lovely old inn in the heart of Faversham, our room was bijou and compact, or as I like to say, a wee bit small! However we didn’t plan to spend too much time in the room so no issue! Food and beer very good, service was always with a smile so would definitely return!

Went here on a very Quiet Tuesday evening in Feb. The Team were lovely. Had Dinner which was excellent with great portions. In a lovely location too.

First visit as for a wake after the crematorium for my friend of 65 years. Busy but well looked after by the staff. Nice sandwiches, snacks etc

Popped in for a quick drink and ended up having a few and some food. Great cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended

Just came home after a.lovely weekend away at Folkestone staying in The Ship Inn. This pub is excellent value for money, excellent food with good service, good entertainment, a.comfortable bed to sleep in with lovely views from our window. We would certainly recommend this place and we hope to return again soon.

The pub itself is very nice and typical of your English pub. The food, though, could be so much better... some of us ordered burgers, and they were all burnt. Not good. The fish and chips was disappointingly small. On the plus side, it's reasonably priced.

Visited for the first time on 30 September with friends, we were on a day trip, loved the atmosphere in there, would certainly go again even though it isn’t my local. Locals seemed very friendly, one in particular gave me a beautiful smile.

Pub is clean and cozy. Food was fresh, well cooked. Room was bijou, clean, nicely presented & surprising well stocked in the tea & coffee department. Definitely VFM.

Situated right by the harbour,we popped inside for lunch. Friendly staff and good range of food offered. The fish and chips, huss for me and cod for my companion, came with chunky chips, a tasty salad and either fresh or mushy peas. The meal was excellent , with ample portions and at a good price. When we are down Folkestone again, we’ll be sure to eat there again.

We stayed here as a family of 3 for two nights. We received a friendly and warm welcome up on arrival and were shown to our room. It was beautifully clean and had everything needed including towels, shower gel, kettle, coffee sachets, tea, milk and complimentary croissants. We honestly couldn't fault the room, every detail had been well thought through. There is the hum of the pub below but it didn't disturb us and i actually found it quite relaxing. The pub itself is lovely, again very friendly staff and patrons, we unfortunately didn't get to eat in the pub as ventured out into Folkestone but we would definitely want to return and try the food as it looked delicious. Thank you so much for making my birthday break a lovely one 😊
