Popped in for Sunday lunch as we were staying at a campsite 10 mins away, Charlie the barman couldn't do enough for us, very attentive considering he was very busy. Great selection of drinks but the crowning glory was the lunch, one of the best we have had.... and we've had a few 😂 cannot recommend the Coach and Horses enough, friendly, welcoming and if you walk away with a smile and a full belly what more can you ask for, looking forward to our return.

10 out of 10 for the roast dinner we had today and I'm very fussy when it comes to roast dinners; todays roast was first class, very tasty and the cauliflower cheese was a meal in itself. I'll be back again.

Excellent local pub with a wide ranging menu and a surprisingly good selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes (all marked on the menu - which is excellent). Poor food and service despite it not being busy. This pie was a grayish mess while the ham, egg and chips was passable. The cheesecake was OK while the cherry crumble was tinned pie filling with granola. To be missed.

Such a lovely friendly pub providing a quintessential british offering. Good quality food much of which is homemade & served in an atmosphere often lost by many modern 'trendy' pubs. Not pretty but a book not to be judged by it's cover. Step inside and experience a pub just as it should be.

Had two nut roast lunch & a pint each on the bank holiday weekend. The food was hot, home made very good quality and extremely tasty. We sat in the garden in the terraced area which had a very pleasant view of the surrounding countryside. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. It is situated just off the beaten track but is well worth the seeking out of this hidden gem. 10 out of 10. Photo shows how delicious the food was..

This place was excellent. We were travelling in the area and found it to be the best option for us among a lot of other pubs. Great portions, reasonable prices and helpful and patient staff. We started off with the loaded fries as an entree and it was massive. I then had the homemade chicken curry (a lot of their stuff is homemade) and it was honestly the spiciest most flavoursome curry I’ve had since moving to the UK - much better than anything I’ve had in London. Really appreciate the warm and considerate countryside hospitality. Would highly recommend.

This pub is fabulous! I normally do not write reviews but we have been to the Coach and Horses a few times now as a family. The food has been exceptional and there is never a crumb left on our plates. The girls absolutely love the food and they are made to feel so welcome with the darts and the landlady, Emily, is exceptional. We have also been to the pub as a couple wanting a quiet, good value meal. It will not disappoint. This pub, is a pub. It pretends to be nothing else and is absolutely perfect. Great value for money, great atmosphere and a perfect family meal. Thank you Coach and Horses

An exceptionally terrible pub which I had the misfortune to be invited to by friends, again. Probably the worst food I have ever eaten, owners are not willing to accept any feedback whatsoever. The menu is pages and pages long, no wonder that everything is so dreadful. Friends also said it was the worst meal they’d ever eaten. I only went as thought that the food may have improved since my last visit. As for the high reviews, they must be either friends of the owners, have extremely poor standards, or no tastebuds. Maybe they were just incredibly lucky. This could be a wonderful village pub, but they have tried to make it look like an 80s cocktail bar, very ill judged. It could be such an amazing pub and as the only pub in the village, you have such a captive audience/customer base. Such a shame. AVOID!!!

The food was extremely poor. Burnt roast potatoes, they weren't fresh and must have been reheated several times ,likewise the Yorkshire puddings. I had ONE brussel sprout on my plate my partner was luckier he had two, one tiny floret of brocoli and a couple of carrots. The food was not hot it looked like leftovers and we waited fifty minutes in the cold the heating was off although we had booked and it wasn't busy. I can't understand how they could present food like that with a straight face it was awful and we regret not walking out or complaining at the time.I have never left a bad review before but feel I should warn prospective customers, don't go there . And to add insult to injury the Landlady looked unkempt and sruffy, no pride in her appearance or the food she served. What a shame, under the previous Landlady who took pride in her business it used to be such a lovely pub with beautiful food and great atmosphere ,not any more,

Went in for a Sunday roast and expected good things after seeing the average rating. I think this may be a wet pub that is attempting to diversify and make food. Long story short, the portions are really small, so don't expect anything huge from your Sunday lunch. Our roast consisted of one slice of meat, a small undercooked Yorkshire pudding, a few bits of thinly cut veg, and a cauliflower cheese between three people which was in a small side dish. I'm not sure what the difference is between the 'normal' size portion and the kids... I hate to think! I didn't take any photos but you can see how small these are from other reviews people have left, and looks like this isn't a new issue. The restaurant ran out of cauliflower cheese after only an hour of opening for Sunday which, amongst other things, suggested there was a general lack of food in the kitchen to serve reasonable portions to paying customers. We waited 30 minutes for desert which consisted of a slice of shop bought cake and a scoop of ice cream. No idea what took so long, especially as the roast came out within minutes of arriving. Unfortunately this is one to avoid until they amend the portion sizes and / or the management.

I would really like to give negative stars but the system doesn't allow it. We were unfortunate enough to eat here on Saturday night. 2 of us had lasagne . The portions were small and dried up they looked like they had been cooked last week and just chucked in a microwave , The scampi was obviously cooked in old fat .Everything was overpriced including the wine 🍷. Dreadful place. I really wish we had just walked out ... This was meant to be a birthday celebration....staff just couldn't care less just wanted the money---

The staff were very helpful and polite, as we were a bit late. I thoroughly enjoyed my lager shandy and I had the roast beef and it was absolutely beautiful, cooked to perfection and was so easy to cut and eat, no having to chew like I’ve had in other places, I have never tasted beef so good and it was so nice to have the gravy served separately, and the cauliflower cheese was so good and for desert I had the chocolate and caramel cheesecake, well what can I say, every mouthful was a delight. I will definitely, without a doubt, be going there again as soon as I can. Thank you Coach and Horses for a very happy, contented and memorable day, see you soon.
