I haven’t been into the cafe but it looks welcoming and cosy. I actually had a flat tyre right outside and while I waited for the RAC to arrive, the owners (mother and daughter) came out to enquire whether I was ok. They were closed, but they invited me in. I wanted to wait with my car so as not to miss the RAC, so they brought me out a takeaway coffee, on the house, and logged my phone onto their WiFi. Such kindness is rare! I would recommend them for their thoughtfulness and care. The coffee was delicious by the way!

We stayed here last summer and it was lovely. However, having booked again for us and disabled family, our bookings were abruptly cancelled because they’ve decided to chase bigger money event clients. (Or some such barely legible nonsense) Really unreliable, greedy and unprofessional. Honestly, they don’t deserve the 5* review I left last time. Good luck chasing the big money.

We were a party of 32 for lunch, all pre ordered. I couldn’t fault the serving staff but the kitchen staff clearly couldn’t manage. The food was bland and over cooked. Garnishes were limp and passed their best. I asked for more red wine jus for my roast chicken and the chef sent out a beef gravy. If I had to sum up our experience I would say that there was no trained chef in the kitchen, just kitchen staff who had no idea how to cook.

What wonderful pub! I always used to drive past it and never had the opportunity to pop in so this time I did. It was so warm and the food is perfect! Seems really popular for the locals as it was busy! The owner was absolutely lovely and did her best to welcome a stranger to the village! I highly recommend at least just popping in to enjoy their food and atmosphere. Will be back soon all, thank you again!

Food was well priced costing around £20-£30 per head for a main and drink. I had a rib and mac and cheese combo and my partner had the Lasagne. Came in on a Wednesday and they had a quiz night, everyone was involved, cosy and warm, yet well spaced. Servers friendly and service prompt. All in all great experience, would recommend and would definitely come back

Dried over cooked food. Beef was tough turkey was dry as well and as for the roast potatoes they couyhave been used as a weapon to beak down a siege tower and well one veg if it had been over cooked wouldn’t have been out of bounds to fill a moat at the tower of london

Second visit to this venue and delighted to say we weren’t disappointed, the service and food were as great as our first visit. If you want to taste authentic Indian food I’d highly recommend the Sir John Barleycorn. Each dish is cooked to perfection with the spices blending together beautifully, no harsh aftertaste! Can’t wait for our next visit.
