Lovely place to eat, the Sunday roast was very nice indeed, a little pricey but very nice nonetheless. Service was good, we were offered a puddings menu but declined, then 5 minutes later, a different member of staff brought us them anyway! Also the after meal drinks were quite slow to appear to our table but overall a good, cosy experience and atmosphere.

This pub was exactly what we needed after a long Sunday walk in the forest. We had to wait for a table, so we got a drink and sat by the fire. The Sunday Roasts here are amazing. It is the only Brunning & Price pub in the area - and that's why I chose it. I know they do amazing Sunday lunches. I had tender lamb, my partner had beef - also tended and pink - both were excellent. The vegetables are especially good - red cabbage, a green veg medley, puried parsnip, roast spuds, roast carrots and we also added some cauli-cheese. Didn't have dessert as we were stuffed, but I have had the sticky toffee pudding before - heavenly. We definitely return - and probably book next time. Though a drink by the fire on a cold February day was a bonus.

Today was my better half's birthday. She wanted to go somewhere for lunch, so being a good other half, I took her to the White Hart at Cadnam for Sunday lunch. She had never been there before and was pleasantly surprised at the size of the venue. Me, I was surprised at the size of the gulten free options in the menu, absolutely fantastic and spoilt for choice. We both chose the mixed roast, man o man, I struggled to finish it all. The plate was full, great meat full of flavour and cooked as it should be, the veg, carrots nice and sweet, red cabbage nice and sweet, mashed potato superb, roast potatoes out of this world. The gravey was nice and old-fashioned, just like mum used to make, none of your gravey granules here. But for the first time in years, I could eat a Yorkshire pudding in a restaurant. A big one at that, nice and crispy on the outside, good and tasty on the inside. All in all, great, well cooked food. We were served by Debbie, who was friendly, chatty and very good at her job. We had a question about some gulten options, she checked with the chef and came back very quickly with the answer. I,m more used to servers being sullen when they have to ask the chef a gulten question. So if anyone who reads this and has to follow a gulten free diet, then you can eat in confidence at the White Hart. The wife was really happy with her pint of St Austell ale, full.of flavour, me I had a pint of Cornish Orchards cider, nice, clean, crisp and full of flavour. The food and drinks, all reasonably priced and well worth it. Would I recommend it to others, yes I would, will we be going back, yes we will. Especially in the summer, great outdoors seating area which no doubt will be busy. Which it was today, even with the weather being as bad as it was, the pub/restaurant was very busy, good to see a full pub these days, so they must be doing something right here.

Table of 8 for Sunday lunch . very busy had to park in a very muddy field , might be an idea to get a large load of bark clippings to soak up the wet and save peoples shoes ! The “pink roast sirloin wasn’t pink it was cooked and with all the fat taken off . The lamb shoulder, wasn’t shoulder it was shank ! Which is perfectly ok but not what it says on the menu . The child’s Mac cheese was £7.95 and very small for the price , I don’t think it would hurt to serve perhaps a bit of garlic bread on the side . The veg was very small amounts on each meal with just 3 small roast potatoes. Meals look impressive because large Yorkshire pud and individual gravy jug filling the open space . There’s a small pud and hot drink option , one of the party’s choices, she asked for waffle with black cherry and Kirsh , the rather unhappy waitress banged a plate down with banana on instead , she said she didn’t want it ,and was told it’s changed on the menu we don’t do the cherry one any more .. it comes with banana ! Another waitress was called to come and take it away , I’m not sure why the unhappy one couldn’t apologise and take it away . Overall a lovely place , food was hot, service was slow and spoilt by the unhappy one , very expensive for the size of meals and sweets and then they stuck a £32 service charge on the bill . We could have asked for this to be removed but when you are out with family it’s a bit embarrassing. Given the choice I personally wouldn’t have left a tip because of that one older member of female staff . In short an expensive experience we won’t be repeating.

Dropped in the wife for a quick drink. I haven't been in for about 35 years, so I wanted to pop back. We were met at the bar with a lovely, smiling and warm welcome from Debs. Dave was nearby supervising. No dimpled handles available, so I provided my own and had a lovely pint of Flower Pots "Buster Best". A smashing pint at a great temperature, wife had Jameson's and lemonade and together a good price. We sat down and the conversation with locals just came naturally. I could have stayed for another, as the atmosphere was so amiable. Unfortunately, disabilities restrict our lives, otherwise, I would have loved to have tried the food but alas, it was not to be. I noticed the toilet signs pointing upstairs and wondered if disabled visitors are catered for? Never fear, a ground floor accessible washroom is available through the restaurant. Nice flat car park. Well done Debs and Dave, we can't wait to come back.

Went for lunch with friends and had booked for 1:30pm with a view to getting back for a carol service by 4pm. On arrival we were told that the table wasn’t ready and so we got a drink. The manager advised us to order our food, which we did, as there was a party of 17 due. We were seated after 15 minutes but it then took nearly my 90 to get our main course (we had skipped starter as we were told that would have taken too long!). The food was nothing special and most had not been cooked to order, so no logic reason for the delay. It then took 30 minutes from ordering to get a dessert (all of which were pre-prepared). So we arrived at 1:30 and got away at 4:15 during which time we were asked if we needed anything just once by the staff. On asking for the bill, they said they would take off the service charge but then forgot to do it. They blamed the poor service on the Christmas rush but the real reason is more likely a mixture of incompetence and greed - taking too many bookings for their staff to deal with.

Arrived at the white Hart today for a meal with a friend, when I got there I waited at the bar to be seated ( I had booked a table) there were 3 people beside the bar BUT none of them exnolaged me and was stood there for a few minutes. Eventually a more mature lady said hello are you being served I said no and she showed me to our table, I asked for a drink and was brought it by a man that just slamed it on the table, the lady came back and took our order and said they were really busy and it could take longer than normal to serve us, but infact it didn't take to long to get our food which was very good, we had the Xmas meal 2 course for £36 for the price it was very good. I am a manager of a pub very much like the white Hart so experienced in hospitality your food is of a very high standard BUT your customer service need to be improved!! The good news.... This is our second visit here because when we visited a couple of months ago, the food, although a little slow in arriving, was of the highest order one could expect. Comfortable warm surroundings, excellent service from knowledgeable staff, but once again waiting 30 minutes for food to arrive I felt was a little slow. This is the sort of place you go to for a pleasant relaxing meal and time is of little importance. If you are in a hurry, this place is so well run that I am sure a word in the 'appropriate ear' would receive a positive response. The not so good news hence only 3 pips..... I don't care if people do not think I move with the times. I am talking tips or 'voluntary' service charges here. We chose our meals from the website prior to arriving. I did not see any mention of any service charge on any of the pages on screen ( I stand for correction if need be) I was not present at the time of payment but was told that later by my wife that a charge of 12.5% had been added to the bill (an additional 14 quid) It is now becoming common place for establishments to add this "voluntary' payment for something that is supposed to be aimed at promoting good service and is not a right. People "cough' up because they are too embarassed to question it. If establishments were honest, they would tell customers before any orders were placed, that and such and such service charge would be added to the bill as standard and if this was not acceptable, not to add it. The customer can then decide what to add, if anything, when the time comes to pay. Their choice, not the establishments. Next time I come here, the first thing I will request is for the bill to be presented minus the service charge. I will then decide what amount is proportionate for a 'tip'

6 of us popped in yesterday (Saturday) lunchtime having attended a funeral service nearby. We were so lucky that there was one table available for us sit at and have food, as we hadn't booked because we were 'playing it by ear'. I'd checked the reviews and menu the night before and saw that they did lots of gluten free options and got good reviews so suggested it as it was so close and convenient. I had the gluten free fish and chips, which was lovely and a very nice glass of rosé. The others in the group had the BLT, steak sandwich and risotto - all of which were very nice. We did have to wait a while for our food but we were warned about that as they were full, with large party, and we were last to order. That was fine and we enjoyed talking and drinking whilst we waited. Thoroughly recommend and would definitely return if we found ourselves in the area again. Recommend booking in advance for a weekend lunchtime, at least.

Amazing pub, we went twice in our stay in the New Forest. On Sunday for lunch and on Tuesday for evening meal. The staff both times were amazing - on Sunday we were asked if we had an allergies, which I do - dairy/lactose. I was shown how to scan the menu and it would give me the options I could eat. I had an amazing lunch of butternut squash wellington - really really good. My husband had the burger which he said was brilliant too. On Tuesday evening again I was asked about allergies and I had arancini as a starter and my husband had the pate option - both were lovely and the chutney with the pate was brilliant. We both had steak and the chef made sure mine was dairy free. We will visit this pub as much as we can on our travels. My only very slight negative would be that we couldn't open the windows and the fish pie was a bit too dry, the sauce was delicious but for me more sauce would be better. It was served with the fish and mash presented in a ring with the sauce on the side which looked beautiful but did leave the fish a little dry and hard to eat. So at £30 for a beef or lamb lunch ( including 1/2 a cauliflower cheese side ) you expect perfection. In fact we all agreed this is the most expensive Sunday lunch pub we had ever seen or had! ( and we’ve been to lots! ) Lamb was nice but one had to be returned as too much bone and fat. Replaced with sirloin beef which was very good. Pink and well seasoned. Cauliflower Cheese was nice as was the snip purée. Gravy was very good! Veg was average and the yorkies were yuk - soft and stodgy not good at all. Service was very slow from start to finish. And you get that basic error of no mint / horse radish sauces offered at the beginning so we have to ask for it and wait 5 minutes for it to arrive whilst your food goes cold. Drinks were also expensive. £14 ish for a large glass of average red. So it was over £180 ish for 4 people - 1 plate of food each, 2 sides, 1 drink each and 2 soft drinks. No starters, desserts or coffee. Service charge added without permission, always cheeky and a bit naughty when it’s so poor. Was Sunday lunch at the White Hart worth it? Probably not.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the White Hart! We booked here for an evening meal this week and wasn’t disappointed. I am Coeliac and managed to have a three course meal with plenty of GF options! Which is a delightful change from the normal salad option when dining out as a Coeliac!

A little more expensive than other pubs in the area, but good efficient service from all of the staff and the food was first class.

Another great visit to The White Hart. The lady that served us, Debs, was new and asked us to be nice but we instantly warmed to her and in honesty wouldn’t have known she was new had she not mentioned it. Friendly, chatty and she looked after us throughout, although in honesty all the staff we have ever dealt with here are great. Crispy beef salad for two please Wickes was lovely. Trying to be good I did forego the pudding, which I don’t normally do, but 10 days upcoming in BBQ centre of the USA made me hold fast!!! Got two more voucher for money off our next visit so no doubt we will be back soon. Well done Debs, a great addition to the team and well done to the rest of the team too. The only thing negative thing I would say is that they put a 12.5% service charge on the bill (which is fine) but then the card machine asks if you want to add a tip with I think the minimum being 10%. I’m all for tipping and will always recognise good service but if you miss there’s a service charge on the bill and add another 10% on that starts using excessive. I’d rather leave a cash tip for the staff or have it as a service charge on the bill but not both. Other than that service as usual!! Well done.

Took my granddaughter few evenings ago she really enjoyed the cod and chips but was annoyed with herself for not asking for garden peas instead of mushy. I had the sea bass and fennel it was amazing thank you

Good food and good drinks selection. Location is good and service is amazing. If only they could serve Guinness the right way, it would have been 5 stars. But food is good and it's got a nice buzz to it. Lots of space and outdoor seating too. Family friendly.

Really lovely pub with great and friendly service from the moment we arrived. We visited the White Harts sister pub recently to discover that their brand are the first pub chain to recognise and affiliate themselves with the coeliac society providing a vast option of delicious food for people who cannot eat gluten. Excellent. We had the beef Arancini to start - it was amazing & the Crab salad with a beautiful sauce, we could’ve eaten a bucket of that sauce! Mains were beef feather with truffle mash and drinks we both had mocktails as we don’t drink. Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection. We will be back for sure and have told our friends & family to check it out for themselves

They charge more for the outside “bbq’ burger when the exact same thing on the inside menu was cheaper ! We made a trip down for the beer festival, We won’t be making the visit again, poorly managed, stop the so called BBQ food early (it’s not an actual BBQ same grills as they use in the kitchen) The ques for drinks were terrible, the music was worse I would class this as more of a garden party than a beer festival to be honest. You ask the staff a question and they didn’t know the answer (what time the food inside was stopping) the response I got was in a very sarcastic manner “I have no idea” this member of staff is on the website photo so not likely to be temp just for festival. Thank god it wasn’t chargeable to go. We unfortunately wouldn’t attend again. It was a shame as we made a special trip down for this as recommended by friends - we actually went and ate at another pub down the road. Maybe some staff training. Better organisation and bands who can reasonable sing a mixture of music. The end on Saturday night was crap from bad band to rave music then suddenly the music stopped and that was it no announcement or Anything quite a strange finish compared to other events we have been too. Would have given 3 stars but due to the fact of charging different prices for the same products from a business owners point a view (don’t get caught should not have had the other menus on offer)

Having visited several other pubs in the chain numerous times we came with high expectations. The internal layout is not great but I hear that there's going to be a refurbishment. The starters were good. There was a long wait between them and the main course. When they arrived we were disappointed. My pie was small, mostly thick pastry and very little filling, the pile of cabbage was lukewarm at best. The fish and chips were average, lots of batter and cold mushy peas. Icecreams for pudding were not exactly generous in nature. The bill arrived quickly with the 12.5% service charge added which I personally don't agree with, I nearly always tip , we're not in America. Nothing was said at the time as I didn't want to make a fuss Infront of family while celebrating a birthday. We're not going to be rushing back and I do hope that this is not an indication of a lowering of standards across the whole chain.

After reading other reviews I think we may have just been unlucky when we visited. However on this occasion the waiting staff were generally unfriendly, and smiles were in short supply. Thankfully the lady running the bar was more amiable. I cannot speak for my companions food, but mine was definitely over cooked.

In a nutshell it just felt like over priced pub grub, the food was edible but nothing special in my opinion. We were a big party who had pre booked, but I felt like we were seen as an inconvenience so didn't get the best service. The atmosphere and décor of the pub was lovely, so I would possibly like to go again in the future. Check the price list before you order a drink.. £5.60 for a pint of shandy is daylight robbery!

I went here on 2/6/24 it was a busy Sunday afternoon and because they were short of bar staff, we were queuing out of the door. The bar was literally half full of dirty glasses waiting to be washed.I was served a diet coke which tasted of chlorine and was then told that possibly the syrup had gone off and I was given a bottle instead. Upon leaving I popped to the toilets and found toilet roll and empty rolls everywhere, obviously these had not been checked all day. They were obviously short staffed and everything had just got neglected.

Steaks came out seared properly on the marble stone for customer to finish off. I find my rib eye to be decent quality and great value (450g). Could do with more green veg options. Had the football on, bit of dukebox, mix of crowds. Seemed very friendly, especially the staff .
