Great pub 👌 been many times before. But the last visit. The food wasn't up to standard. We had the kids chicken meal and the chicken wasn't cooked. And the sandwiches had dry bread. We will go back for drinks only. A real shame.

40 mins wait for A sandwich with no butter, a few chips and no salad… and within an hour of eating I was unwell … I have addressed this with the Pub when they have promised me that this was not due to an error on my allergy list .. so we have to assume it’s another reason that I was made unwell by their food however it was within a short time of leaving the pub that I was unwell so there’s no question where it happened I also was met with a lot of excuses and I’m very disappointed to have my complaint handled so poorly.. I don’t find the excuse of being busy a reason to serve food so late. Maybe they shouldn’t have us all sitting there if they don’t have the capacity to service us .. We saw many unhappy families with children waiting a long time for food my food was completely substandard when we asked for the salad that was supposed to come with it , it to arrived looking like someone sat on it .. sandwich had no butter in it. All I received was a hollow apology with whatever happened was clearly nothing to do with them. This is not a pub that wants to change or improve its service or standard of presentation of its food which was absolutely dreadful. Avoid avoid avoid

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Alice Lisle in Ringwood, and I must say, the environment is absolutely amazing. Whether you're dining inside or outside, the setting is perfect for a leisurely lunch, especially on a sunny day by the lake. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. The meal was simply astonishing. The squid starter was delicious, and the steak ale pie was out of this world, with a delicate fennel flavor that perfectly complemented the steak. I have to give a special mention to the cappuccino—I've never had one quite like it! Someone, please tell me how the barista makes that cream on top. The prices are very fair, with starters around £10, main meals around £17, and drinks and hot drinks each at about £4. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience.

I have always loved going to this pub as we really enjoy the perfect setting and it's a nice place for my grand children as the can play in the playpark the garden . Loads of outside seating for us to keep a eye on them. The whole area is clean and well maintained. Good parking and you may even see the donkeys. However this visit left me very disappointed. The food was okay but not up to the usual standard. We waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive. One if the children had chicken schnitzel and chips. The chicken was so overcooked and dry and the 10 chips were pre salted before arriving at the table (not ideal for children ). I did voice my concern to a member of staff who offered to replace the meal but I couldn't expect my grandchild to wait a further length of time and eat on her own as our meals had also been served. No reduction on bill offered. My Husband also had chips which again were very salty. None of the other meals were also not very hot. In the past the food has been excellent but we feel it has gone down hill badly on this visit. Such a shame.

Recommended by a friend , we had lunch for 6 on a busy half term Friday. Started off with nice beer , and chose from a great menu with plenty of variety. My starter of beef short rib on a crumpet was excellent. 3 of us had the pie as a main - really tasty - as was the duck and especially the seabass. Desserts were good , and nice to have an ice cream choice too . Overall , an excellent lunch . Only minor criticism would be that it was a bit slow , but it was busy and the staff were friendly and helpful .

I love coming to the Alice Lisle, the staff are always lovely and I look forward to seeing what's on the menu. The pub itself is beautiful at all times of the year. It was very quiet for a Friday night but that could be something to do with the freezing rain outside! We meet friends for dinner and drinks and had a lovely night overall. Pie of the day was steak and ale and was presented really well. Even the burger and chips had great presentation. I had the pan fried chicken "breast" risotto which tasted lovely but wasn't breast unfortunately! Though the chicken skin went well with it. I recommend their zinfandel rosé wine, sweet and tasty!

Unwelcoming to families with young children. Staff with a lot of attitude. We’ve been here many times over the years but never again. Such a shame. We booked ahead for late Sunday lunch and when we arrived learnt dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. I asked if the bar was available but was told with attitude ‘I’ve just said there’s no room’. Clearly we had made the cardinal sin of needing anything from the staff and our booking was scrubbed from the book. We received a lot of attitude and eye rolling from the female restaurant manager and waitresses when we asked for our booked table back. We should have known to leave at this point. We had a baby and three toddlers and the staff blanked us. We asked for menus, we asked for our orders to be taken, we went to the bar for our drinks. We asked for water and glasses, We asked for drawing paper and received attitude again. Our children now starving were acting up. We asked for the bread and butter we ordered to keep them happy but ‘the kitchen hadn’t made it yet’. Two underwhelming roasts, a kids meal and £60 we got out of there. Of course we asked for the bill. And the card machine.

Went for a Sunday Roast on a sunny afternoon. As soon as we sat down, we were told there might be a 30-40 minute wait for food, which was a shock as we had booked a table, but we didn't have much choice. Luckily the food only took 20 minutes to arrive and was tasty. The beef and swede mash was delicious, but the gravy tasted like it'd come from a packet and the potatoes were quite hard. I've had much better roast dinners elsewhere, but the garden is lovely so great for drinks on a sunny day.

The Staff at The Alice Lisle looked after us incredibly well throughout our Wedding; both before it took place and during the event itself. They provided us with an amazing amount of choice, tailored it to our needs and dietary requirements, and were able to work around us when guests couldn't make it on short notice. Both the food and drink came out on time and were excellent. Our servers were kind, and courteous and attended us immensely well! The food was simply outstanding. For nearly 50 dishes to be served to such a quality was impressive to witness. All of our guests were blown away and were really pleased with their lunch! Thank you again to everyone for all your hard work and efforts! You really made our day even more special! :)

Thank you so much to The Alice Lisle Pub and team for providing such incredible food and service for our wedding! Our 50 guests enjoyed two courses in the conservatory area of the pub, which was hired for our use. The quality of the food was outstanding, and everything ran so smoothly. It was clear that the team was experienced and professional, and the way they managed everything without a hitch really stood out. Our guests were thrilled with the food — each course was perfect, and it kept the atmosphere lively after all the excitement of the ceremony. Although I was too caught up in the day to eat much, what I did manage to eat was delicious! We were so happy to see all of our guests enjoying themselves, and we received many compliments on the food and service. The relaxing and welcoming environment really gave us the chance to unwind after the ceremony, and it provided exactly the refresh we needed for the rest of the celebrations. We can’t thank you enough for making our day so special!

My friend and I came here for dinner today, I booked as I’ve tried to walk in before and it’s been fully booked, so when I gave my details they said they couldn’t find them but I could have a table anyway because they hadn’t had many bookings. I ordered the chicken and beef roast, with a side order of cauliflower cheese. The roast was nice, only had a little sliver of beef though and the stuffing was tiny! I was very disappointed in the cauliflower cheese, had about 2 florets of cauliflower, and the sauce was tasteless, really disappointing having to spend an extra £5 on it!! The Yorkshire pudding was lovely. We had dessert and I had the white chocolate and gooseberry tart, this was lovely! Will return, not sure if I would have the roast again, don’t think it’s good value for money!

Myself and my family have been coming to the Alice lisle for years and have always left content and happy with our experience. We attended for a Sunday roast lunch and the first thing we were greeted with was ‘you have this table for 2 hours’. I was aware when booking but the abrupt tone was not appreciated upon arrival. It all felt very rushed and our conversation was frequently interrupted. Once we placed our order, 2 sides of cauliflower cheese was placed down and our mains didn’t arrive for a further 10 minutes which meant the side had now gone cold. We planned to order deserts however, a young brunette girl with an obvious attitude problem shouted across our conversation ‘it’s nearly 2pm so you will no longer have the table, there’s some spare tables outside’ ( it was literally raining..) this food wasn’t cheap and what was once a family, friendly pub just seemed to be ran by miserable teenagers. Shame, we now won’t be returning.

This pub is so lucky that it has a good name to it already because my experience with this establishment today was absolutely disgusting. Now bear in mind that we did arrive before they officially opened which was fine as we were going to go for a walk locally and come back at midday. However, we saw customers in the beer garden so we thought let’s have a seat and maybe they aren’t serving food until 12. We came with 3 adults and 2 children. I was greeted by the rudest woman. I believe it was the manager with short mousy brown hair and wear black top and a black skirt. Her words were “you can come in but we don’t open until 12” completely valid so we can wait for 30 mins until they open. I asked to go to the toilet and she said in the rudest tone “well we aren’t even open yet you’ll have to go through the fire exit to get to the toilets won’t you” Look, I know it’s annoying people coming in before you open but I would rather her turn us away and say could you come back in 30 minutes. Baring in mind people are in the beer garden!! I questioned this and she pointed at them and said “yes they are early as well aren’t they” I am a local and have been coming to the Alice for years. And have always enjoyed it. We ordered some non alcoholic passion fruit mojitos and the waitress said to us that they don’t have the ingredients to make it so she suggested passion fruit lemonades. The mojitos were £3.95 but these lemonades were £6.20 each!!! Honestly I couldn’t believe it. And there was a fly in my first one and they remade it. No apology about the fly however they did replace straight away. What I will say is that the food really is amazing. We shared some nachos today and it really was lovely. For some mini puddings; hot chocolates; nachos; two lemonades and a peppermint tea it came to £41.50. My purse hurt after that. I will not be returning and it’s a shame because as a local I would come back again and again if they were pleasant and welcoming. Your regulars are the bread and butter of pubs like this but because they are always busy regardless of who it is they serve, they quite frankly don’t care. I wouldn’t waste your time or money here. It really is such a shame because the food is amazing.

We found this after searching google for pubs with play areas because the weather wasn't great so plans for a beach day were off and we had a flight from Bournemouth airport that evening. What a find! 2 of us had beer battered haddock and chips, my fussy daughter had a burger which she re-designed, my husband had trout and our 4 year old grandson had pizza, carrot and cucumber sticks. After, my husband had cider apple sticky toffee pudding with custard, my daughter had an overflowing chocolate sundae, son-in-law had a mini chocolate brownie with coffee, I had salted caramel ice cream and the little one had a chocolate brownie. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. The price was very fair for the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommended.

The lovely lake adjacent to the pub does sadly mean lots of mossies and flies. The food prices are a bit high and the drinks even higher we felt the place was trying to be more than it really is. Saying that we had a really pleasant meal. The three mains, two veggie sides, one soft drink, 2 medium wines & 4 pints beer with tip was £120. The Pie and mash okay although pie looked like something from supermarket market. Burger basic. Bun looked like cheapy and £2.50 extra for 2 small skinny greasy streaky rashers not worth it. Lampchops lovely.

Great outside area, bit of a wait for food but such a lovely setting we didn't mind. Food was tasty.

Booked table had to wait 1hour before served . ordered Sunday Roast Chicken which turned up as a drumstick and tiny piece of breast plus veg .Asked if we'd like dessert but would be another hours wait even for ice cream. We gave up and left ,not very happy .

Decent place to have lunch and drink. The cheese and ham sandwich with chips was exceptional. And reasonable value when u consider the portion. Also have a soft spot for a pint of Pride.

Lovely place, we did enjoy the meal but the service in the dog friendly section wasn't overly speedy. Great food and options for drinks. Would reccomend for anyone, great outside seating section too

Excitement for a father's day meal turned disappointment. A busy father's day meant lack of any friendly service, and a drop in standards. We've had great experiences in the past, but this was really lacking. 25 minutes to get our order taken, and then a 50 minute wait. A long time with a 3 year old and 6 year old. Soggy roast potatoes, cold food. Attention to detail was disappointing with missing cutlery, and tipping the food off the plate on service. No wonder no one asked how it was at any point...such a shame as this is a beautiful location, and close by.

What an absolute Rip Off!!!! Duo of Meats!!! £26!!!! Sounded great but in reality was a complete and utter rip off!!! Thought this would be a nice. Place to celebrate Father’s Day, and although the pub in itself is nice, I think it must be ran by Dick Turpin!!! I’d love to know why a roast with literally 2 ( VERY THIN ) slices of meat about 5inch’s long costs £26?? Maybe they thought that hiding the offering with a giant Yorkshire pudding, we would not notice. It was an absolute embarrassment and nothing was done about it. If ya busy don’t take the order!! The slither of beef was not sirloin!!! but something that resembled the leather tag you used to get on kickers shoes! And the pork, well! That was just fat! And as for the potatoes, well I really struggled to eat the 2 of mine, NOT!!! they may aswell have been boiled! Can’t even cook a roast potato!!! But 2 potatoes!!! Honestly never felt so ripped off in all my life!!!!! Gravy was water and the veg probably came out the microwave. Quite shocked really! So if you want a decent roast, take my advice and go down the road to the Old Beams! Much cheaper and the roast is amazing. Still can’t believe it was £26 😂😂😂 Oh and a pint cost about £7.50 as well, so you may as well sell a kidney before you attend.

Bar staff took my ID out the back, bent it in half, and then said the UV was wrong. They said my mate's ID also had the wrong UV. They then refused to return both, before then saying they could return my mate's ID but not mine because mine was "more fake"????? Refused to return the ID until I had police on the phone telling them they had to return it as otherwise it was theft. Horrible atmosphere and snarky comments from fat old men at the bar claiming we were "scam artists". Avoid.
