Unwelcoming to families with young children. Staff with a lot of attitude. We’ve been here many times over the years but never again. Such a shame. We booked ahead for late Sunday lunch and when we arrived learnt dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. I asked if the bar was available but was told with attitude ‘I’ve just said there’s no room’. Clearly we had made the cardinal sin of needing anything from the staff and our booking was scrubbed from the book. We received a lot of attitude and eye rolling from the female restaurant manager and waitresses when we asked for our booked table back. We should have known to leave at this point. We had a baby and three toddlers and the staff blanked us. We asked for menus, we asked for our orders to be taken, we went to the bar for our drinks. We asked for water and glasses, We asked for drawing paper and received attitude again. Our children now starving were acting up. We asked for the bread and butter we ordered to keep them happy but ‘the kitchen hadn’t made it yet’. Two underwhelming roasts, a kids meal and £60 we got out of there. Of course we asked for the bill. And the card machine.

Only sat outside, it has extensive outside areas, just for only adults, a children's playground, and doggy areas. Grub is really nice, inside looks also very pubby. All in all a very nice forest pub.

Beautiful location and perfect for country walk with dog. Great menu for all including vegetarians and vegans with genuinely healthy options and more indulgent pub grub too. Great for children balanced with child free areas. Plenty of seating options for all. Service was very good and friendly but did came out fairly slowly. Was worth the wait though!

Beautiful setting and building. Very good (and strong) Aperol Spritz - never had one this decent in the UK! Food definitely overpriced for small portion but delicious and nice to see game on the menu. Very understaffed as such a sunny Autumnal day alas incredibly busy but when we did eventually get service it was pleasant even if we did have to request cutlery and condiments! I would return for drinks only.

Stopped in for a couple on the way home, great pub with it's quirks (if over 6ft, you'll find out!) Bar staff were very good, not transactional and taking time to talk and engage with all customers - not something you see very often any more. Keep it up.

Went for a Sunday Roast on a sunny afternoon. As soon as we sat down, we were told there might be a 30-40 minute wait for food, which was a shock as we had booked a table, but we didn't have much choice. Luckily the food only took 20 minutes to arrive and was tasty. The beef and swede mash was delicious, but the gravy tasted like it'd come from a packet and the potatoes were quite hard. I've had much better roast dinners elsewhere, but the garden is lovely so great for drinks on a sunny day.

The Staff at The Alice Lisle looked after us incredibly well throughout our Wedding; both before it took place and during the event itself. They provided us with an amazing amount of choice, tailored it to our needs and dietary requirements, and were able to work around us when guests couldn't make it on short notice. Both the food and drink came out on time and were excellent. Our servers were kind, and courteous and attended us immensely well! The food was simply outstanding. For nearly 50 dishes to be served to such a quality was impressive to witness. All of our guests were blown away and were really pleased with their lunch! Thank you again to everyone for all your hard work and efforts! You really made our day even more special! :)

Thank you so much to The Alice Lisle Pub and team for providing such incredible food and service for our wedding! Our 50 guests enjoyed two courses in the conservatory area of the pub, which was hired for our use. The quality of the food was outstanding, and everything ran so smoothly. It was clear that the team was experienced and professional, and the way they managed everything without a hitch really stood out. Our guests were thrilled with the food — each course was perfect, and it kept the atmosphere lively after all the excitement of the ceremony. Although I was too caught up in the day to eat much, what I did manage to eat was delicious! We were so happy to see all of our guests enjoying themselves, and we received many compliments on the food and service. The relaxing and welcoming environment really gave us the chance to unwind after the ceremony, and it provided exactly the refresh we needed for the rest of the celebrations. We can’t thank you enough for making our day so special!

Went here for lunch and sat outside in the adults only area which was lovely. The pub has a good atmosphere and polite staff, my only negative, and I think the pub should take this on board, is that the food portions are very small. We hadn’t visit this pub for a while and we’re looking forward to a Sunday roast. Whilst the surroundings and staff were excellent, sadly our food was just average. Such a shame, the pub has one of the best locations in the area. However the food is way overpriced, and often of very poor quality. The kitchen staff clearly aren’t up to the task of the far over complicated menu. Hope that one day a good independent takes over this pub and puts in the effort that it needs.

This pub is so lucky that it has a good name to it already because my experience with this establishment today was absolutely disgusting. Now bear in mind that we did arrive before they officially opened which was fine as we were going to go for a walk locally and come back at midday. However, we saw customers in the beer garden so we thought let’s have a seat and maybe they aren’t serving food until 12. We came with 3 adults and 2 children. I was greeted by the rudest woman. I believe it was the manager with short mousy brown hair and wear black top and a black skirt. Her words were “you can come in but we don’t open until 12” completely valid so we can wait for 30 mins until they open. I asked to go to the toilet and she said in the rudest tone “well we aren’t even open yet you’ll have to go through the fire exit to get to the toilets won’t you” Look, I know it’s annoying people coming in before you open but I would rather her turn us away and say could you come back in 30 minutes. Baring in mind people are in the beer garden!! I questioned this and she pointed at them and said “yes they are early as well aren’t they” I am a local and have been coming to the Alice for years. And have always enjoyed it. We ordered some non alcoholic passion fruit mojitos and the waitress said to us that they don’t have the ingredients to make it so she suggested passion fruit lemonades. The mojitos were £3.95 but these lemonades were £6.20 each!!! Honestly I couldn’t believe it. And there was a fly in my first one and they remade it. No apology about the fly however they did replace straight away. What I will say is that the food really is amazing. We shared some nachos today and it really was lovely. For some mini puddings; hot chocolates; nachos; two lemonades and a peppermint tea it came to £41.50. My purse hurt after that. I will not be returning and it’s a shame because as a local I would come back again and again if they were pleasant and welcoming. Your regulars are the bread and butter of pubs like this but because they are always busy regardless of who it is they serve, they quite frankly don’t care. I wouldn’t waste your time or money here. It really is such a shame because the food is amazing.

We found this after searching google for pubs with play areas because the weather wasn't great so plans for a beach day were off and we had a flight from Bournemouth airport that evening. What a find! 2 of us had beer battered haddock and chips, my fussy daughter had a burger which she re-designed, my husband had trout and our 4 year old grandson had pizza, carrot and cucumber sticks. After, my husband had cider apple sticky toffee pudding with custard, my daughter had an overflowing chocolate sundae, son-in-law had a mini chocolate brownie with coffee, I had salted caramel ice cream and the little one had a chocolate brownie. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. The price was very fair for the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommended.

Visited early evening on a Saturday. The staff were clearly mostly students working part time but they were very friendly and efficient. The lovely lake adjacent to the pub does sadly mean lots of mossies and flies. The food prices are a bit high and the drinks even higher we felt the place was trying to be more than it really is. Saying that we had a really pleasant meal. The three mains, two veggie sides, one soft drink, 2 medium wines & 4 pints beer with tip was £120. The Pie and mash okay although pie looked like something from supermarket market. Burger basic. Bun looked like cheapy and £2.50 extra for 2 small skinny greasy streaky rashers not worth it. Lampchops lovely.

What an absolute Rip Off!!!! Duo of Meats!!! £26!!!! Sounded great but in reality was a complete and utter rip off!!! Thought this would be a nice. Place to celebrate Father’s Day, and although the pub in itself is nice, I think it must be ran by Dick Turpin!!! I’d love to know why a roast with literally 2 ( VERY THIN ) slices of meat about 5inch’s long costs £26?? Maybe they thought that hiding the offering with a giant Yorkshire pudding, we would not notice. It was an absolute embarrassment and nothing was done about it. If ya busy don’t take the order!! The slither of beef was not sirloin!!! but something that resembled the leather tag you used to get on kickers shoes! And the pork, well! That was just fat! And as for the potatoes, well I really struggled to eat the 2 of mine, NOT!!! they may aswell have been boiled! Can’t even cook a roast potato!!! But 2 potatoes!!! Honestly never felt so ripped off in all my life!!!!! Gravy was water and the veg probably came out the microwave. Quite shocked really! So if you want a decent roast, take my advice and go down the road to the Old Beams! Much cheaper and the roast is amazing. Still can’t believe it was £26 😂😂😂 Oh and a pint cost about £7.50 as well, so you may as well sell a kidney before you attend.

We checked food serving times before jumping in the car from home. Food served until 9pm, so 5 minutes later we were at the bar. 8.30pm. "We'd like to order some food". The response from the bar was that they would check with the kitchen to see if they were still taking orders!! After all, they had had a really busy day, and the kitchen staff sounded like they were on their last legs. We thought we'd give the Italian sharing platter for 2 a go, but sadly, that was out of stock. Undettered, we thought we'd give the Welsh sharing platter a go at £23. We were then told that there was a 30-minute wait on food. Fair enough, working 6 years in the kitchen and on the bar at The Red Shoot, we really know what it's like to work in a busy, vibrant pub (1997-2003). After 30 minutes, our Welsh sharing platter for 2 people turned up. We thought it was joke to start with. Sharing for 2, it came with uneven items. The bread was thin sliced , probably from Tesco down the road in Poulner, I bet the loaf was less than a quid. 1 tiny bit of quiche/crumble, 3 insipid, miniscule welsh cakes, and a tiddly bit of blue cheese. Honestly, I reckon the Royal Oak at Frithams ploughman's is twice as much food for half the price. I can't say the Welsh rarebit was burned, but it wasn't far off (check out the photo), and the topping was not an improvement on the bread beneath it. Overall, the service wasn't great, but it had been warm today, so I'll forgive them trying to decide whether they wanted the business. The food however cannot be described as value for money I am sorry to say. Each mouthful was stunningly uninspiring and smacked of a complete lack of interest.

Had to pile on the salt and pepper to add some form of flavour and the mash was really dry. Hubby had gravy with his pie so at least that helped. They did offer to bring a side of chips for him but we declined. Service: No one came to check on whether we were enjoying the meal or even asked us when they collected our plates. I had to go up to the bar and ask for another drink and didn’t get offered to bring it to our table. Very unfortunate as it is in such a lovely setting.

This is alovely pub in a beautiful setting, however we were disappointed today. We had been promised a dog friendly table around to the right side as you walk in . However when we arrived we were directed to a high table with high stools and next to it and was a young man setting up to sing. We requested another table as we knew it would be too loud. This was denied. We went to our table and had to ask the young man to move his equipment from our table( which he did ). When he started playing ( and he was very good) it was at full volume but we couldn't talk to each other!. it was uncomfortably loud!. Food wise The roast pork was lovely, the roast chicken was good but the vegetables were very eldente and for 2 of the plates you couldn't cut the veges, apart from the cabbage and peas. It was a shame for the talented young man as most of the Sunday crowd couldn't hear him and he was excellent. Had we been moved to a different table, we would've stayed for another round of drinks and puddings so the pub lost out on more money.

Food was nice enough and the waiter was polite but having to wait an hour for the starters then another hour for our mains was a bit too long. Needless to say we didnt have desert.

Awfully rude staff, so much attitude and not a tad sincere. Popped in for a drink and a portion of cheesy chips and olives. Went to order at the bar and although outside was practically empty was insisted we got the table number and she was refusing to take our order until we got the table number. However a nice boy called Harvey stepped in and sorted it. Secondly the food came and we had to tell the waitress it was ours, then we start eating and she comes over and takes the olives, telling us we didn’t order them and we ordered bread. We had to tell her multiple times that we didn’t order bread and then she gave them back. Then they come over with an order of bread and chips and we tell them it’s not ours and she has so much attitude, and yet again Harvey had to step in and tell her where to go and then she walks back swearing under her breath and rolls her eyes. Ny friend went to get condiments and asked the staff and she replied “there outside aren’t they”. A couple near by even heard how rude we were spoken to and asked us if we were ok because of the attitude of the staff. Olives were £5 and were awful and chips was a very small portion. Will not be returning. Used to be a nice pub, now all the staff have attitude problems and are not willing to help.

Unfortunately this is one of the most dissatisfying experiences in a while. The service was extremely slow: 10 mins to be seated, 20 mins sat before we had to ask to order. 45 mins for the food to arrive, which was cold and items were forgotten. Staff were uninterested and apologetic. A real shame.

Lovely pub. We didn’t eat but looked a good menu. Good feel and great beer. Large car park and lovely garden. We’ll be going back!

Fantastic food. I phoned to check there was a vegan choice. The chef provided me with a good selection of dishes and my meal was probably one of the best I have ever had. Rest of group also had delicious food. Stayed overnight and the breakfast was very good as well. Incredibly friendly team behind the bar and the room was very comfortable.

A nice place to visit, lovely staff. Will return again to go for a nice walk, then call in for a bite to eat and drink.

We were in Ringwood which we are not familiar with and were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We came across Arboro Lounge by chance and thought we would try it. It was a surprise when we went in as it was nothing like we expected! We received a warm welcome and as downstairs was full up we were able to find a table upstairs. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed the quirky relaxed atmosphere.
