The best restaurants in East Maidstone South East

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing lunch last week and were really well looked after by our lovely waitress Shirley. I had the smothered chicken and my husband had fish and chips with mushy peas, of course! The service was quick and friendly and the food was filling and good value. The chocolate fondant dessert was very decadent and delicious 😋 I recommend this pub, it is always busy but the staff are great and I have always had a nice time.

Im from East London Hackney. I visit a friend in Maidstone every now and then. I have been to this place about 5 times over the last 13yrs and it's lovely place with pub grub. However today I had the beef cheeks as I was told they fall apart they are so soft. It definitely was not soft. Lots of cinue, gristle, connective tissue more than actual meat. It also should say beef cheek not cheeks as there was 1 piece which i feel was beef skirt rather than cheek.The veg & mash that came with it were lovely. Cooked to perfection but it was also served warm, room temperature/ish. It's a shame or i really would have given 5☆s as like i say i have always been very happy with the service and food. Shirley our waitress/server. I got talking to her as I have seen her here each time. Absolutely lovely lady, friendly, helpful, attentive etc... always smiling. I told her about the beef and she apologised straight away and let the chef know. Also gave us a dessert on the house as they did offer to serve me another but I declined. I didn't catch the name of the guy who also served us our first drinks, bald white guy, but again he was lovely too. Service is always important when dining. As an ex restaurant owner myself I can honestly say I'd hire them. Shirley thank you very much. Today was an important lunch for me and my friend and you added a positive vibe to our day. Thank you. I hope your managers see this. And don't forget to look up M Dot lol. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Yummmmy

After waiting over an hour for food, the food came cold and wrong/ missing many things which was advertised. Ordered the hunter chicken schnitzel off the specials menu which was meant to come with rosemary salted fries, fries came with neither rosemary or salt, ordered the chorizo tail on king prawns, which came with prawns that weren’t tail on or king prawns, ordered the mac and cheese off the kids menu which then didn’t come with the cucumber or corn on the cob which it was advertised too, the carrots that did come weren’t peeled and looked like they were cut with a butter knife, the portion size of the mac and cheese was abysmal, finally a roast dinner was ordered which majority of the components were cold. Didn’t complain in the restaurant because we were waiting so long for food that we were so hungry and couldn’t wait longer

Had a lovely meal and the service from Antonio was really good. Very polite and helpful young man. Went out of his way to help us!

The owner Yang was lovely and very welcoming and it’s very clean, and quick service .

Afternoon tea was excellent, lovely fresh sandwiches, the best warm scones and so fresh little cakes. Thoroughly enjoyed this birthday treat with a friend. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Nice Store on two levels that is a lot bigger inside than what you expect and nice bay window area over the high street that gives you an interesting view of what's going on.

Fabulous food last night and service

The staff have got such an attitude in there and can’t be bothered to help . Talk to each other instead of to a customer and when you tell them the food is cold they pull a face at you

Just purchased Lunch have been told by the manager Laura that they do not accept the defence discount card anymore very sad day. Maidstone has been a Military town for many years and sad this company has chosen not to support veterans and serving military personnel.
