Having visited the pub on a sunny lunchtime we decided to sit in the garden, which I have to say was a little better than when we visited a few years ago. However it could do with a thorough clean and tidy up and get rid of the awful plastic flowers!- -food ok ish -staff not rude but tired and disinterested and lacking in basic hygiene skills … the member of staff that served us cake tried to serve it with barehands!!! This pub has so much potential but needs much, much better professional management.

Visited as it was local to the care home I had been to to see a relative. Food was served faster than we had been advised... they were busy. Garden was lovely to sit it... tables not to crowded together.

We had a few drinks then a sit down meal which was fantastic and no small portions, the beef and ale award winning pie was very filling and superb. And the service was excellent many thanks

Paid a visit today and I must say it did not disappoint. When we entered the premises it was extremely clean, staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. What a fabulous pub to go to and will definately be returning , great for families too as grab a drink and sit out the front and the kids can play on the field situated just a step away :-)

Came in Friday night for drinks and the atmosphere was brilliant. Fantastic music playing all night with a perfect chilled atmosphere, sat in the garden and it was clean and tidy with a nice covered area with heating for late in the evening. Would definitely come back again

Went today and sat in the beer garden which was absolutely lovely. When my friends received their food I was told mine would take longer but it ended up taking excessively long. I was blown off by staff saying how it would take longer but I had to wait almost 30 minutes for them to admit that they gave my food to the wrong table. I was disappointed as I loved the atmosphere.

Great pub in a lovely location. We had the pies and would recommend. Special shout out to Debs for our dessert 😊

Came and visited the Bull for some quick lunch yesterday. Staff were fantastic, couldn't fault them for the excellent service and the food that was served. I had the Beef and Ale pie and it was great, full of meat and very tasty. Would definitely recommend coming here, and I'll certainly be coming back

Ordered four meals burgers were reasonable Mac and cheese was dried up Stodge and barely warm, asked for it to be hotter which they did although it made it warmer it didn't improve the taste or texture, I had the mixed grill which was mediocre the steak was meant to be medium to well but came rare, not for me, when the waitress came back at the end and asked if it was OK, I told her and she said I should of told her when she bought it, bit difficult as I hadn't tried it than and they never came back to ask, never mind lesson learnt wont be going back, used to be lovely meals there and went there frequently but not any more.

After traveling 4 hours, myself and my mum wanted to get some food before visiting family, we stopped by the Bull and was served by Kim! She couldn't not enough for us! I asked if it was possible if I could have jacket potato with cheese and beans (it wasn't even on the menu) and without hesitation Kim took our order away and service was very quick. Would recommend this pub to anyone around this area.

Had a great lunch with the family on father's day. Food was excellent service was fantastic and reasonable prices.

Came for lunch with my mum, daughter and her boyfriend. Our service from Kim was brilliant, always a smile on her face, even when dealing with guests who can't read the 'wait here to be seated' sign! Patience of a Saint! Food excellent, my lasagne was cooked to perfection!

We booked a table for 7 to celebrate my mother birthday. We arrived at just after 5 and were seated. We order our drinks, then our food a little wait but not too bad. The food was bought to the table for both starter and main, first 5 dishes, then quite a wait, then the other 2 dishes. We ate the food. Then we sat the waitess who originally served us did not reappear in our part of the restaurant, and the other waitress just kept serving her tables. We had to get up and ask about the dessert menu from the 2nd waitess who then cleared our table but never returned to take the dessert order. In the end after 2h15 minutes, we gave up. We gad to ask for the bill again the bar on our way out. We had children eating off the children's menu and it is a school night. Very poor service.

Great Pub To Have A Drink & Some Food. Friendly Staff Aswell

My wife and I had been going to the Bull 2-3 times a week since 1996, until moving to Canterbury in 2021. Always enjoying the,beer, food and atmosphere promoted by the good humoured staff, most of which I, even now, class as friends. Since moving away we have still frequently visited,(my father in laws favorite),when visiting my father in law. However the last 2 visits have been pretty abysmal. The atmosphere more inner city drinking hole, staff giving the impression that they had more important things to do like "vaping". The beer,(Abbott), was well below par, for an otherwise great beer. Then we come to the food! I know the Bull is never going to be Michelin starred.We ordered the basic but British staple, Fish and chips. Now to put you in the picture, I am an ex head chef, executive head chef, development chef and area catering manager for some national and international companies, including the pub restaurant trade, over the last 50+ years, so I have some knowledge of what I am talking about. I know most of the menu is pre- prepared, cooked and packaged in a factory style kitchen elsewhere, but at least get the few dishes you cook on site right. Deep frier oil should be strained and replaced regularly, basic kitchen protocol. What was served to us was pretty dire, to say the least, photos attached. Because this was my father in laws treat for us this time, we didn't want embarrass him, so refrained from complaining. The experience doesn't end there, the chef,(!!!!), and some kitchen staff then came out of the kitchen to go to the bar...basic food hygiene course needed all round

Great & Friendly Place To Have A Few Drinks & Food.

Had a very large approx 18 group reunion yesterday lunch time, all ordered and paid individually, apparently was waitress first day, we would never of known, she wasn't overwhelmed at all.. The pub under new owners, all enjoyed our food, lovely spacious garden and parking.

We had a lovely experience here with Jade as our waitress. She as friendly and efficient and made the experience. The food was good and very reasonable priced. I had Thursday steak special which was a great deal.

The place is falling to pieces, the entrance door at the side is literally crumbling and looks awful. The mismatch chairs aren't great,just a shambles. However, the food was amazing, one of the nicest roasts I've ever had. The lady that saw us to our table was friendly and checked all was OK

Nice pub, only ordered chips which were good but couldn’t believe the portions when they came out £3.95 for not even a handful!

The pub is lovely, the garden great for kids but if your eating it isn't great, the service was slower than slow, to the point that we had to ask for the table to be cleared after our mains, items missed the food was below average at best especially for the price

Long wait for starter to arrive but it was busy. Overall food was good, wouldn't recommend the cod as is didn't have much flavour. Our waitress Debs was very nice.

Very polite staff, very attentive. Good food ,I had Scampi, chips and salad, would have liked more Scampi on my plate but I'm probably just greedy.

Menu is standard pub grub nothing special but we had looked at the menu before so was what we expected. Had southern fried chicken burger, just about edible, very little chicken involved! My granddaughter had mac n cheese, massive amount of salt and looked very unappealing, would have benefited from a minute under a grill. The mixed grill was generous but sadly went back as some elements were completely cold, kids ordered carrot and cucumber sticks and got just cucumber? Service was slow, mainly I think due to just 1 member of staff serving, poor guy was run off his feet! Won't be returning anytime soon

Came for lunch today for the first time with my husband and 2 kids. Warm friendly welcome and lovely atmosphere. Mid way eating through his mix grill my husband pulled a face and said his steak tasted funny left it to the side and carried on eating the remainder of his meal. He then said he could smell something cheesy and realised it was the steak. When Deb came to collect our plates my husband said the steak tasted off and instead of an apology got ' well if you had told me earlier I would have replaced it for you' my husband said it didn't matter he enjoyed the rest of the meal. Later on she came back to apologise we guessed the kitchen smelt the piece of meat and realised how foul it smelt and took it off the bill. We understand mistakes can happen but the initial reaction from the waitress would put us off coming again. Very defensive

Good price not very fast service

I would never go there again ! We went there as a group of for to celebrate my inlaws wedding anniversary but unfortunately it was a let down . ,3 main course came out only to be told the 4th meal was still cooking ! After about 15 minutes later the 4th dish arrived only to find the pie was raw underneath. Food sent back and by this time everyone else had nearly finished their mains so when they ask did I want something else cooked there was no point . Even thought waitress apologise for the mess up and gave a free desert we felt the evening was spoilt .

Food was delicious, well priced and prompt. Service was very friendly and attentive. Initially wanted to find somewhere to eat and play pool, however google lied! They haven't had a pool table for 10 years. But Service and food more than made up for it.

Table booked for 1.30 pm, ordered food 2.30 mains didn't arrive till 4.30pm and was disappointing.

Must say Jamie and Kim were both very friendly and efficient. Service a little slow as only them 2 serving, not a fault of theirs! Pub was pretty busy so should have had another person working!

Too long a wait for poor quality food. One hour for starters to be served and a further hour for mains. Food was poor quality, not well cooked, very disappointed.

Unfortunately disappointing. Portions small. Fish undercooked. No napkins - although napkins on various tables. ketchup bottle empty. Bar staff - had to search them out. Positive, shift change more attentive with a smile.

Booked a table for after the park with the kids, was lovely atmosphere, great food and drink especially the coffee after being out in the cold. Think staff's names we're Deb's, Kim & Joe, thanks for a lovely meal out. Will be back soon.

Used to eat here with my family all the time for last 5 years. At leat twice a month. It was a fantastic reasonably priced and thought out menu. Recently changed the Menu. Expensive and extremely limited poor not very well thought out options. Nothing for the pre-teen slightly older children either. Very disappointing.

Service was good, quick and accommodating. My meal was fine but my husbands not so although passable which unfortunately is what it did a few hours later and several times during the night.

Went for lunch. Mixed grill was ok, nothing to shout about and i would go back.chicken wasnt as dry as it looks

Christmas Dinner came out with minimal gravy waited ages for gravy to arrive service slow prawn cocktail was very nice only problem no butter on bread service behind bar very slow and wasn't busy was waiting at bar server saw me waiting at bar but it was at least ten minutes before he decided to serve me but in saying this minimal staff on pub was very nicely decorated for Christmas atmosphere brilliant

Had the Christmas meal recently. I'm afraid I was not impressed. Turkey was tasty, roasties fair. Yorkshire I couldn't even get my knife and fork into, and the 1 Parsnip was burnt beyond recognition. So disappointing.

went in for sunday roasts with the fam, absolutely adore the beetroot sweet potato butternut squash veggie tart roast dinner, all turkey roasts went down very well, and the mushroom and ale pie veggie roast was also a win! being a great hit with the generally very fussy MIL, good job bull!

Very nice atmosphere. Food was beautiful. We've been served by most friendliest and kindest girls Elle and Chloe. We definitely will be back. Highly recommended

I would give nought ! Such a shame this pub has gone down hill! The veggie options are appalling ! Went today for a late Sunday lunch ; veggie options all gone except the roast which I had to order ! The tart was a curry based tart ! Who wants curry with their roast ! It was awful ! You need to think about your veggie options , they are dreadful : We were a large crowd £40 + per person ; we were not happy ! Bring back the extensive menu of pre 2020 ! You’re my local , I really want to come to eat !

We ordered our meal and it was nearly 50 mins before we received it, when it did come out I was very disappointed with the beef Roast, my Yorkshire pudding was frozen in the middle, there was 2 very small slices of beef, 3 very small roast potatoes and unfortunately it was completely cold the only thing that warmed it up was the hot gravy that came out with my new hot Yorkshire pudding, such a shame as the service was very good.

We went to this store today and I'm really disappointed. The food was like microwaved and the portions so small. For me it is an expensive shop for the food it serves. The meat was very hard which shows poor quality meat. Of course we waited 1 hour for the food to be brought to us. Unfortunately I will not go again as there are nicer places with better food.

Best Greene King around. Great food at reasonable prices with excellent service and such a nice location for families.

Could be a great place but let down in a number of respects. Vegetarian meatballs were spot on but beef lasagne was cheap mush. Mean portion of chips. Two cubicles in the gents, one was out of order the other had a toilet seat hanging off so unusable. ****Thank you for your response, we'll be back to give it another go in a couple of weeks. I like to support local businesses when possible but in return they have to make an effort.

I wasn't feeling particularly hungry at lunch so I opted for the halloumi and roasted veg on focaccia. It was enough to satisfy and tasty with it. My other half enjoyed his hunters chicken too - good portions for lunch - not too heavy.

We had a family get together of 18 people and were given a separate space from the rest of the pub which was excellent as we could chat and move around without disturbing others. Everyone was very pleased with their meals. The service by Kim, Chloe, Elle, Astrid, Natalie and Harry was perfect. They were always available when we wanted them and everything was delivered together so that individuals weren't waiting while others had their meal. Also a special mention for the kitchen team of Craig H and Ronnie who provided well cooked meals, hot meals.

Chips almost cold, batter very oily, the fish very mushie. Not very nice at all. As a visitor from Australia its hard to be too critical after 1 visit. Otherwise a pleasant place. The service person was very nice and helpful.

Waited ages for a cup of tea, only 2 members of staff serving,was quite busy, side salad was dropping and very dry, the rosemary and garlic bread that came with it was to big and very greasy need to stick to the garlic bread with the macaroni cheese and definitely the salad needs not to be like it's sat on the side in the kitchen for ages because it was very droopy and very dry and just mainly rocket

Surprised with the quality of the steak and ale pie . Very tasty and a good size . Staff couldn't do enough to satisfy. Only minor criticism would be the gravy was a little cold due to the temperature of the pot it was served in . Other than that I would recommend a visit

Good pub in a good location. Spacious indoor and outdoor. Good range of drinks and good food menu, however, I didn't have food so can't judge.

Service was excellent. I am a wheelchair user and my wife booked a table on the understanding that your pub/restaurant was "wheelchair user friendly". However, you would be surprised at how many steps there are and how difficult it actually is for a disabled person to navigate and even to gain access to your establishment. I hope this helps. Shame for the young girls who served us,they were very pleasant. Food was way below standard .Love Greene King normally, but won't be returning to this one.

Went with a group of ladies and we all enjoyed a good meal at a reasonable price.

Called in for a drink with my wife. Interior really nice. Good choice of beer and wine. Looked at menu which was quite expansive and not too expensive. Will go back and try the food.

Disappointed. We have been going to The Bull for several years now. The location is brilliant with a kids playfield opposite, play area in the garden, plenty of parking and the choice of drinks is massive. For the first time we decided to have dinner there and unfortunately it was a big disappointment. Children's pizza was microwaved, tasteless and the base was like rubber. The child's Hunters Chicken Tacos were in fact wraps and wasn't served with bacon or BBQ sauce. The adults chicken burger was rock solid and we had to use a knife to cut it. It was also only served with 12 fries. The lamb roast dinner was served with no gravy and when asking for extra the smallest dish was brought over just enough to cover the very small amount of vegetables. It was missing some of the listed vegetables and not replaced with anything else. We order the children's brownies and Churro's. The brownies were good however, the Churro's were again were like rubber and didn't have any sugar coating and were unfortunately uneditable. We will go back, but not for food. Which is really disappointing.

Lovely place. Staff friendly and helpful. Really lovely fresh food. Would recommend
