Great ambience. Relaxed atmosphere. The waitress Jenny, was attentive, polite, and happy to recommend some dishes for us. Was always smiling , even under pressure with a busy restaurant. Well done Pizza Express 👏

The same fantastic food like most other pizza express sites. It's in a good location with plenty of parking nearby, and it's not far from the main shopping hub.

Friendly and professional staff, warm and welcoming interior. Excellent food. One of the few places in England that actually season their food

Walked in spoke to manager on sunday 12th feb. Told me wasn't taking walkins and turned us away. Not even a reasonable explanation. Felt very undervalued. Poor service and rude also. Won't ever go back. Mariano was the person I spoke to. Clearly doesn't like working at Pizza express. Get another job pal

This place is fine. Not good. Not great. Just fine. It used to be good a decade or so ago in the old building, but the service is a bit lacklustre, the food very overpriced for what you get. I'd go if I had Tesco vouchers, as they half the bill - but otherwise the value and experience is disappointing.

Very disappointing… we waiting for soo long for our food… starters are ridiculously overpriced… pizza was dry and very little toppings on the top… for 2 people we spent nearly 90£ for 2 pizzas, a portion of prawns (4 small prawns), 2 ciders, one portion mushrooms with goat cheese ( portion so small..it was literally a tablespoon size) and 5 balls of dough. Never again.

Marc did a group pizza making experience for young people from the Links! Group at our Charity Involve. Marc was absolutely amazing, explaining to the young people how the pizza was made, the ingredients and giving them time and to answer questions, providing them with confidence to speak. It was an amazing experience for our young people and I would definitely recommend Marc. Lovely food and it was great that our young people were able to make their own pizzas.

Had a lovely dinner, Charlie was such an attentive and helpful waiter - nothing was too big of an ask and he was so friendly! Thank you :)

This review is based upon 3 visits across the last year. Unless you want a pizza, I advise you head elsewhere for good food. The starters especially are lacklustre and taste microwaved out of the box. In fairness, the pizzas are always of a high standard and very tasty, indeed. How one rates food is of course a subjective thing but factors such as freshness of ingredients, presentation and temperature of food are not and on these 3 factors alone, Pizza Express Maidstone is subpar. As for my most recent experience, I came down from London yesterday to visit my mum for the day. We both love the pizza from Pizza Express as a chain. It was 1730 and the restaurant was about 20% full. There was a plethora of tables free. Upon walking in and asking for a table for 2, we were told there was no availability. It felt comedic in all honesty as so very many tables surrounding us were empty and ready for custom. The waitress imparting this information was polite enough. I asked to speak with the manager. She kindly ushered me in his direction. I asked if there was anything he could do stating I’d travelled a fair distance to see my mum and we liked Pizza Express. He was most unyielding and he stood his ground saying he couldn’t seat us. Whilst I understand that bookings are bookings and the restaurant needs to keep booked tables free, I struggle to believe that in this circumstance, we couldn’t be served. If it weren’t frustrating, it would be comical because the restaurant was quiet. The young man’s demeanour was unfriendly, standoffish and unyielding; demonstrating a distinct lack of experience, hospitality and communication skills. In this scenario, it is commonplace for a restaurant to seat customers outlining a timeframe in which they will need to be finished by. Of course we had to find another restaurant, going to a rather lovely new Turkish restaurant next door which excelled in all the areas Pizza Express Maidstone did not. And after finishing that meal an hour later, walking past Pizza Express, I couldn’t help but notice the restaurant was still awash with empty tables. Whilst I will continue to go to Pizza Express restaurants, I most definitely will not go to the Maidstone branch as for me it falls horribly short on quality of food and customer service; the two primary purposes of the restaurant experience.

We booked a pizza making party for our daughter’s 7th birthday and we were so impressed. Thank you to Jordan and the rest of the team for giving our daughter the best party ever today! Great fun, brilliant food and fantastic value for money compared to other kids’ party prices! 🍕

Relaxed family friendly atmosphere.

Jordan was super helpful and very friendly. A lovely experience. It was also very delicious(I’m referring to the food).

The food was okay but definitely not worth to pay above London prices for a chain restaurant.. in Maidstone… after eating we were trying to pay and simply couldn’t get our waitresses attention or anyone else’s for 20 minutes even after asking someone for a cheque. We then had 2 members of staff behind our table in which our waitress then stormed up to them, to complain the guy running the other section had more tables than her. She then stormed off again giving them nasty looks… ironic to want more tables when you can’t even look after the ones you currently have.

Always love coming here, however when we came here the other day and was seated, it felt like we was forgotten and waiting for around 10 minutes to get our drinks orderd. But the lady serving us apologised and took our order. Other then that the food was lovely.

Meh, describe this place best. Very overpriced for a pizza. Sides are only good when you get them for free otherwise I wouldn’t pay £8/£9 for some dough balls. Service is good, a little slow.

We went to pizza hut after 8pm on Saturday 23rd Sept 2023, the restaurant wasn't busy, the staff were nice but really really slow. when we walked in tables were empty but still waiting to be cleaned. we waited awhile to be served drinks once served they didn't bring all drinks over and had missed one off the list, finally got the missed glass of coke when we had our main course turn up. not all the starters turned up at the same time, had to keep asking where the olives were by the time wed been given them the other starters had finished, when ordering food was told they didn't have lasagne and few other pieces unsure why the server couldn't of told us this before we were given the menu to look at. our food arrived 3x pizzas but once again 4th persons food had not turned up (it was pasta - quicker to cook than pizza) had to ask on two occasions where the pasta was eventually after sitting on the side for awhile the server bought it across whilst also saying "it was just left on the side not sure why they didn't bring it - the server seemed to think it wasn't his place to bring it and was happy to push the blame onto his colleagues. we asked for desert menu - again when the menu was handed to us we wasn't informed of what they did/didn't have so when he came to take our order and we said what we would like his response was "no" i think he was trying to be funny as he seemed to more interested in being your friend than your server. when asking what deserts they did have the server seemed less interested in taking any orders which at this point it was just us and another table in the restaurant. we thankfully left without leaving a tip as we did majority of the work ourselves, they took forever to come and clean your table after each meal - we ourselves after each seating moved the dirty plates etc to the table next to us. the toilets were abysmal! all toilets had urine marks on the toilet itself, one of the women's toilets had sick and mess in there - the was no authorities' person the whole evening it seemed that there was noone really running the team at the restaurant and they all just didn't know what to do. I find it really shocking that a restaurant doesn't have half the menu available on a Saturday evening - wont be wasting my time or money there again!! would much rather go to Zizi

Very disappointed! Firstly the food was good tatsted great no complaints to the chefs, shame the wait staff let you down!!! It was a Saturday evening but there was plenty off staff and the restaurant was only half full. Every course at least 3 things were not available, at no point did our waiter let us know or gives us a heads up, when we tried to order it he would just say “no” he’d have to say it 3 or 4 times before we realised he was making a joke and the food was not available. We had a 3 course meal and 3 rounds of drinks, not once did all four of our things come out at once, we had to chase up every single course for one of our meal or drinks and the waiter just blamed his colleagues and that he thought they would bring it round, he never apologised. The service was appalling so much so someone from the table behind us wrote a rude note in his caramel sauce which did make us laugh because the waiter earned it quite frankly! Food was great, however the staff were too busy trying to get home or flirt with the table of pretty girls!! Not worth the £160+ pounds at all! We would have complained but most of the staff had gone home by the time we managed to get out (service was so slow) and our waiter gave zero f’s it would have fallen on deaf ears!!!

My wife and I had a lovely meal of starters and main course which was all lovely. But the main reason for leaving this review is because of the service we received from a young lady called Gemma, which was excellent. She was extremely pleasant assisted us making our drinks selection, was very friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble for her. In the current climate where young people get a bad reputation and perhaps find it difficult to find work it is so pleasing to see someone like Gemma who has a natural ability when dealing with the public. Gemma's manager please take note and nurture this young lady and for Gemma thank you for making our night out even more special.

Gold member at pizza express, usually couldn't fault it. Today ordered takeaway from Maidstone Earl street. Wouldn't deliver to us from the app (we live in bearsted which is less than 2 miles from the restaurant so we couldn't utilise our app but that's fine. The pizza came through just eat and it was prompt but when it arrived my Gluten Free polla ad astra hardly had any cheese and minimal tomato puree. See photo, I ate most of it but only because I was so hungry! My husband BBQ burnt ends was severely lacking BBQ sauce. Loyal customer pizza express but we are disappointed and only earnt half a pizza stamp on our app!

We went to our granddaughters birthday party with great trepidation and it was fantastic. Everything had been prepared in advance and was ready to go. When we arrived the children had to wash their hands and then were given dough to make a pizza base . Then they had a go at tossing a pretend dough circle up in the air and catching it, as the chefs would do. Next they were given bowls with a good variety of toppings to decorate their pizzas . Jordan was fantastic with everyone explaining how to do everything and what not to do. He kept their interest and helped those who needed it. Eventually when they had covered the pizza bases to their satisfaction they were taken away ready to be cooked. Party food next. First a plate of warm dough balls each with veg sticks. Then the highlight, their own pizzas and finally an ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce. At the end pizza boxes arrived so each child could take any left over pizza home. The children loved the whole experience and it’s one of the best and easiest childrens party we have ever been to. Highly recommended

All the staff was to busy talking to each other than to serve the tables . I had to get up to ask for the bill as none of the staff was paying attention to the room

We went to this restaurant last night as not been there for a while. From the very beginning our server ( I think may of been Debbie?) was brilliant. She took everything in her stride and made conversation whilst taking our orders, she was polite, friendly and very bubbly. When she found out it was my wifes birthday she went the extra mile and even wrote happy birthday in the dusting on her dessert plate. I've worked in the hospitality trade for 29 years and want to say how refreshing it is to meet a server like that, especially working the late shift on a Saturday night! The food was also very good and all in all had a great evening, thank you to everyone. We were on table 23 just in case I have the name wrong.

Great place since moving to the new building

My daughter was 15 on Saturday and had said she'd like a 'Make-Your-Own Pizza' party with her family and friends. The party was on Sunday, and she and her guests had such fun! The manager kept us all entertained as he demonstrated what to do, and the girls really enjoyed making and eating their pizzas (mine was delicious). The cake candles were lit and brought out to the table for everyone to sing Happy Birthday to her, and then the cake was cut up afterwards so that everyone could take some home. I'm so glad I booked the event; it was really good value and absolutely stress-free for me! Best party ever - thank you so much. (I'm thinking of booking one for my own birthday now!)

WOW the last review was spot on..went with my elderly father and he was so confused by the toilet signage that he had to come back to our table for assistance to use the loo... something he's managed to do by himself for 78 years until today!!! Please change your policy on toilet signage to cater for EVERYBODY including men to prevent others experiencing g this embarrassment

Best pizza in Maidstone. Great value. Everything tasted fresh. Chicken strips nice and crispy. Milkshakes were beautiful.

Lovely service, meal and wine for the four of us. Sadly though we won't be coming back until they change their woke toilet policy. There are no gents toilets yet there are two toilets for ladies and two toilets for "either" The four toilets are identical, and I totally agree with equality, so make them all, "either." No gents toilets are sexist, as the staff and remaining customers agreed with me.

This is so much better than the old pizza express. The pizzas are back to being delicious really liked the BBQ burnt ends pizza, gluten free pizzas/pasta are still available and delicious. Friendly efficient staff . Nice sized restaurant and using clubcard vouchers made it more affordable.

Went there to celebrate my birthday with a few friends for lunch , we could'nt fault the service we received from our waiter charlie or the attention to detail and service from the manager jordan making sure we recieved the best service, would highly recommed them to anybody the food is always lovely and the service is always outstanding , look forward to going again

Outstanding Food & Service. We booked two tables for my son’s birthday with friends and Courtney the manager was brilliant! I bought in quite a large birthday cake and asked if he would mind cutting up and popping in some takeaway boxes for the boys and he did it all for me while my husband and myself sat at a quieter booth having lunch away from the boys! Although Pizza Express is of course a chain and you tend to know what the food will be like, I just had to give Courtney and his staff a shout out as they took really great care of us. We’ve been back again since!

The food looked very big but the Doagh was fin so it was small and not filling they had many gluten free options but not so many veagan

Sept 2022 visit. - Update - went again tonight, very different story. Not busy and waited over 30 mins for our pizza ( turned up only after we asked the waitress how much longer we might have to wait ) our pizzas had been sitting on the side for some time, hence luke warm. No excuse when it wasn’t at all busy…. shame The waitress had been very accommodating in the initial instance and then asked what then she could do when we had told her about the extensive wait ( and cold food) however we were very hungry . Pizza was still good. June 2022 visit - Our server, Mat, was fantastic. Service was spot on, no waits and perfect timing between courses. Pizza was delicious ( and we swopped quite a few toppings at no extra cost). We used the app and received free doughballs too! Great place to eat with a super ‘buzz’. Definitely recommend ⭐️

Just been shown to our table, restaurant not busy and we sat there for over 5mins and were ignored. We had our order sorted and were waiting to order a bottle of wine, alas, no recognition from the not very busy staff. We are now next door in 5 guys. From outside this restaurant looked very posh, that’s why we chose it we were on a shopping day out and wanted so where nice to eat, we walked in stood and waited to be seated, no one came over just looked at us so we sat ourselves down then waited for a menu again no one came over so we got our own menus. For starter I chose the chilli dough balls, they were lovely, mum had garlic mushrooms which came out and looked gross, they tasted awful and the cheese that came with them tasted off, mum didn’t eat this. Then I had pizza which was okay good enough, mum had pasta carbonara the pasta was burnt and there were no sauce we asked for more sauce to which the server replied was can put it back in but it may come back the same? Okay strange answer, the waitress came over to ask if everything was okay we said about the pasta she was lovely took it off the bill and said the coffee was on the house, that’s was nice. I had the baked cheese cake which was amazing and a latte. Not a great experience really below average food wouldn’t go back again.

I came to this restaurant last summer and didn’t have the best experience however I have just given it a second chance and it felt totally different! The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was amazing! I definitely will be coming back!!

Newly refurbished restaurant with a nice contemporary feel. Average food and service on a mid week night was sooooooo slow. Waited almost an hour for mains to arrive despite restaurant being half empty. Kids ordered margarita and pepperoni pizzas which looked very, very thin and unappetising.

Spent a lovely evening in Pizza Express maidstone 14th Feb 23, we were served by Charlie who made our evening run seamlessly, he was attentive, knowledgeable and a pleasure to have as our server, nothing was too much effort for him and he was very friendly. Lovely hot food. Was busy and noisy so thought we would be in for a long wait for service/food but I was wrong. Had starter and main with drinks and was finished in just over an hour. Service was friendly but we were served by 4 different people so didn't really know who our server was meant to be.

Took my two small grandsons last week & it was a lovely experience. The staff were very friendly l had one of the best lasagnes lve had in such a while!

Stopped here for dinner before a night out with a few pals. Owner over heard us talking and that we needed plasters. He brought over a first aid box and told us to help ourselves. Really decent fella. Food was hot, fresh and reasonably priced. All 3 of us were very impressed. Will definitely be back again and would love to see this place thrive.

Me and my family went tonight to pizza express, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were sooo lovely and bubbly. The food was incredible. Our family is a pizza express fans in general but I would say that today was prob by far the nicest experience we have had in any of their restaurants. Their new location is stunning, they have done a great job. The manager on duty (I think manager as wasn’t in a pizza express top) was very welcoming and bubbly throughout our visit. Our server was very polite and joked with the kids and made them feel comfortable. The service the team provide was over and above. Can not fault them one bit! My husband and kids ordered their normal and none were disappointed, whereas I went for a new menu item mushroom and truffle pizza BY FAR the best food item I’ve eaten in any restaurant in years, it’s Devine!!! Honestly! Try it! 10/10 for me tonight! Thank you I highly recommend you try the new location if you haven’t as they have completely turned it around.

We had a fantastic lunch here yesterday. The food, service and setting were exceptional. The best pizza I've had anywhere and I've had a lot! Steph, the Deputy Manager could not have done more to ensure we had a brilliant time celebrating my granddaughter's 4th birthday. As it was a quiet late lunchtime she offered to make a pizza with her and made it so much fun. The staff then brought her pudding to her complete with candle, singing waitresses and a birthday card! We could not have asked for more. Thank you so much Steph and the team at Pizza Express Maidstone! We highly recommend!

We have been on Fridays a few times since the restaurant reopened. Staff are always polite, friendly and smiley. A very affordable and tasty Friday night treat for us!

The staff were good to squeeze us in, but then all went south, longest wait for pizzas, then pizzas arrived, all luke warm and very light on the toppings… the thin base pizza was almost burnt, the toppings were almost dry, due to being over cooked & left on the side for ages, also no extra toppings were added and we were charged for then. I won’t be returning as too expensive for that food.

Went in today with my family. Was greeted with an unwelcoming staff who said there is up to 30 mins waiting time, despite numerous tables being free and we were the only standing customer. I left my name and number, hours passed by and no text and no call about the table. Of course I went elsewhere to feed my family. I feel like it was my tired and unbritish face that wasn't welcomed at this branch.

My daughter is gluten free and dairy free. The staff went above and beyond to make her meal special, in pizza express in the past ( not this one) she has been told she can only have a chicken salad! My daughter said it was the nicest food she had ever eaten and has gone on to tell all her friends how amazing it is there. I wish I had asked the girls name who served us as she made my daughter feel so special and nothing was too much trouble.

Went for a date with my daughter today... Great experience. Warm, welcoming staff, food served promptly and very enjoyable. I enjoyed it so much, I made a point of telling the manager on duty.

The waiting time on food and you just cannot sit where you want. I once left because of the seat reason, they telling me it’s reserved and I been there for an hour spend over a hundred and nobody came to that table. Even now try and check in ask for a specific seat maybe you want to have a private conversation with your partner they don’t let you take the seat. This time the food was burned. Waiting time for drinks 15 mins and this burned pizza 25 min

Amazing service, amazing food and all round amazing atmosphere. Natalie our waitress could be seen non stop between her tables yet making us feel like we were the only ones in the resturant. Obviously a lady who knows how to do her job and cares about the standard of which she exicutes it. It was also great to see the manageress helping where she could, taking food to tables and clearing them which is rare to see when you go anywhere. Well done Pizza Express! Will most definetly be returning.

Had a great meal in Pizza Express tonight - our waiter Matt was amazing, he treated us like royalty. We were a table of 8 and we had a birthday- he did absolutely everything to make our meal incredible- he went above and beyond - thank you we will be back.

The new look Pizza Express is lovely inside. However the general service was not good. We were served quite quickly to start with, the starters were good. The main courses were a long time arriving, when they did arrive only 1 arrived & were told the other pizza would be there in a minute. 5 minutes later the Manageress came over & apologised for the delay. Mine had been burnt & they were redoing it) My husband's pizza was terrible (think it had just been sitting there for a while) so they replaced that. Eventually we got both. Mine was ok but could have been better as not really hot (think it too had been sitting there whilst they made another for my husband.) Totally disappointed with our first & probably last visit .

Food was great but the restaurant itself is really cramped, there was 5 chefs in the kitchen and they looked to be struggling to work in such a small kitchen. The tables are also really close together, I literally saw a woman’s hair nearly in the meal of the people sitting behind her! The waitress also spilled oil all over my new shoes and didn’t even apologise, luckily it wasn’t hot oil!

As good as the old Pizza Express in Maidstone. Tasty Pizza, fast service. Quite small inside compared to the previous building. Highly recommend visit here.

Food was delicious and served quickly kudos to the chefs. However, Table service team let the whole place down! We was welcomed into the restaurant by a friendly young lady, it wasnt busy at all, many empty tables on a sunday lunchtime and we could choose where we wanted to sit. But...Here comes the down side, Very slow service to get our order taken; even for drinks! We thought we might of had to order on our phones at one point as no one come over to introduce themselves as our waiter/ress. (It is table service). Finally a flusted young waitress apologised for the wait and we was finally served! I wouldn't mind waiting longer to be served if there was communication to who was going to be taking our order. We just felt ignored. We would of had dessert but it was taking so long we couldn't be bothered to wait. No one asked if our food was ok as you would expect, if we wanted anymore drinks or sauces etc we gave up and asked for the bill whilst I was still eating and while we could still get our waitresses attention. This pizza express missed out on extra revenue for the inadequate service. I also don't expect to be told at the dinner table that the waitress was, I quote "sweating and running around cleaning, could we see her" and waving her hands at her face. It was near on empty there was no excuse for bad service, her attitude all over shouted she couldnt of given a sh**. Not just our table had this issue the guys behind us was getting impatient too. Come on, simple customer service and manners. Train your staff or lose repeat custom who will earn you bad reviews and lose your company money.
