Zizzi - Maidstone in Maidstone

Staying overnight in Maidstone & ended up at Zizzi's for dinner....what a little gem this restaurant is, beautiful interior, excellent food & fantastic service! We had a fabulous evening ☺️I highly recommend it & I will definitely be returning everytime I visit Maidstone!!!

I would advise to avoid it. I have been a customer for years but the food was amazing few years ago. Now it is a shame. Bland, no taste, very far away from being Italian food, overall very disappointing. The server noticed that I was not happy with their dishes and decided to make the matter worse and inform me she is not to blame and I shouldn’t be upset on her,because she ain’t the one doing it, which I as trying to explain that it is not personal , I am unhappy with the food and even in a far away planet this would not pass as bruschetta or Italian food overall. So she went and asked her colleague to serve us. Besides the food being absolutely shameful, I will have to say the same about the waitress. So sorry Please find attached their bruschetta picture. Tomato, onion, mozarella for a extra charge and some warm bread. 😂 Please stop saying you offer Italian food this was a salad at it’s best .

Ok so arrived yesterday at half 3 my table was booked for 4 pm myself and my husband and baby who’s 1st birthday it was booked zizi as they do a babino menu! Yes we was half hour early but we fancied one or two drinks before dinner as baby routine is 4pm to eat hense time. The manager was sitting stuffing his face and told us they was closed very rudely and basically seemed angry because we was early! Completely ruined my day and my sons birthday I was so annoyed about how we was spoken to and treated told they was closed when they had a restaurant full! And people coming and going! Will never return and luckily our friends in the pub a few doors down recently got the seafood linguine and felt super sick a few weeks before 🤢 so think a bullet has been dogged there!

I had visited this restaurant several times previously, though not for a few years. We took our teenage Granddaughters here. The food was mediocre at best and my pizza toppings sparse. It was overpriced for what you received and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Have avoided Zizzi for years after a bad experience at another location. My daughter wanted to visit today, and I couldn’t fault the food or service at Maidstone. The waiting team were very attentive, even when the restaurant became busier. The food was delicious, and the team were very helpful with allergens. The restaurant and bathrooms were really clean. There was a great atmosphere and we had a really good time. We will definitely return to Maidstone Zizzi.

Yesterday on deliveroo my husband placed an order for 3 pizzas,one vegan for a toddler with soya and dairy allergy and we paid £40.He phoned 3 times the restaurant at Maidstone to ask for a pizza with only tomatoes as there were no info about allergens for cheese.The person on the phone answered : the pizza is already done.My husband asked to speak to the head chef and requested to know more about the ingredients to see if my son could have that vegan pizza with that cheese.Finally nobody was helpful,we couldn't give the pizza to my son because of lack of info regarding the vegan cheese.They cannot read ingredients and cannot prepare food for allergic people.They just Don't bother.We wrote a complaint to the HO,no answered.We wrote a review on Google and they have hidden all the reviews now.There is anything else to say?

Awful experience. Ordered pork meatball calzone which came stuffed with chicken and half a meatball. I told the waitress it was a little misleading given the description in the menu, at which point she started arguing with me! It was ridiculous. Will definitely not be returning again. Very poor service.

My husband had just now placed an order on deliveroo for 3 pizzas,one of them is vegan.There are no info on deliveroo website regarding allergens.My husband already phoned 3 times Zizzi straight away to inform that the vegan pizza is for a toddler with dairy and soya allergy.My husband asked to receive just a pizza with tomato because the person of the phone said it may be soya on the vegan mozzarella.He asked twice to receive a pizza without mozzarella.The person said 'the pizza is already done'. We paid £40! He asked to talk to the head chef and was not there. If they cannot even manage an allergy, close the restaurant!They cannot even check a label for ingredients

Had a lovely afternoon with my friends who shared a birthday and received a glass of fizz on arrival. Spent a good few hours eating ,drinking and catching up thank you to the staff who were great and looked after us. Will be in again soon .

We visited last minute for lunch. The restaurant had been refurbished and looked really good. There was a warm, relaxed atmosphere, despite being quite busy. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious. With the Zillionaire app we also made a great saving on our the bill, a January deal. I am coeliac, there was lots of choice on the menu. Would recommend.

First time I've eaten in Zizzi's restaurant. Couldn't have asked for more. Great Italian food and atmosphere. Service was polite and friendly. Look forward to returning.

Today, my salmon and prawn carbonara contained pasta, prawn and salmon and a slice of lemon. How is that a carbonara? The same happened with the pollo picante I ordered week before last, there was no cream in the dish, just harissa paste. Also, no Parmesan included with either order. Considering they charge £16 for the dish, it is stupid of them to think they can get away with skimping on ingredients to Just Eat customers without getting a complaint or bad review. The dish should contain the same ingredients, whether ordered in-house or through Just Eat. Sort it out Zizzi Maidstone. I’ve submitted my refund request as it was hardly worth paying for this food.

What a lovely Zizzi restaurant- so clean and the staff were really friendly. The service was excellent- prompt and polite. The food was excellent- really tasty and enjoyable. Good value and highly recommended

We used to come regular and the pepperoni was big instead of little slices and they used to fill the pizza. My granddaughter was upset because as most kids do she ate the middle first. There was alot of the pizza left. We found the filling very sparse and too much pizza left on the plates. I liked zizzis and got everyone to come but left embarrassed because I bigged it up so much. So smiles from the staff! Happy Christmas. X

Great food, service. Loved the atmosphere

Large party of us about 22, food came in drinks and drabs, starters were ok but not piping hot. We had to keep grabbing the attention of waitress. Food was nice but not amazing and not served all at the same time.

Went with a friend and the food and service was amazing

The food is average but the waiter attempted to add the tip to the bill for 3 times (we had specifically asked for it to be removed, it is our choice, not an obligation). At the end of the evening we paid £9 more and we realize that we had been charged for drinks we hadn't ordered.

Great food and service and very helpful with food allergens

Kids enjoyed the free pasta crisps. Garlic bread was “on another level” according to kids also. Service was 5 stars. Sadly not enough cheese on the pizza though.

Had staff Christmas party yesterday 20+ people food was preordered no of staff new anything been told general manager called sick so they don’t know what was dealt in emails … poor girl on training probably (really lovely and attentive) was allocated on table 20+ people … Food🤦🏼‍♀️had arancini for starter (dry really dry and was to salty that I couldn’t eat) main- smoked salmon and prune pasta ( pasta over cooked 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️and they call then self Italian restaurant 🤦🏼‍♀️)toilets !!!!!!! horible… pub toilets it’s cleaner then Zizi restaurant . I’m am shocked that hospitality can be this way

Our male waiter was the best thing about the meal. Such an attentive man. He completely made the experience. Food very good but service impeccable. Atmosphere also very very nice. Xmas menu had some seasonal options which I must go back for. Prices reasonable. Didn't book in advance. Went on a Thursday night at 8pm. No problem. Very busy.

Lovely catch up spot for friends and family. Food is always spot on and the interior design gives it a welcoming and high end feel. I would definitely recommend trying it out!

Nice to come into the newly refurbished Zizzi so much brighter and more colourful. It looked good and felt great to be back . The Staff always remember us as this is our favourite restaurant in Maidstone . The food was delicious as always . I really liked the set menu really great choices there . As for the service it was fantastic. They are now card only restaurant but you can still leave a cash tip if you want but it gets shared out between all the staff even the cleaners and pot washer. Slow Front of House service. We waited over 8 minutes. When we were seated we were walked to a noisy, busy area at the back, squished into the far side underneath cold air con and loud sound system. Our backs were touching elbows on the table behind us. We had to ask twice to have music turned down (while we shivered!) Waitress couldn’t hear our drinks order, it was so loud, and told us they didn’t sell lemonade. Management wouldn’t move us to empty tables, even though other diners had sat themselves down in them (presumably because Front of House staff were non existent). It was an utter shambles! When we told our waitress we had to leave and our table was free for someone else, her response was a shrug and “no worries”. This establishment really ought to worry about their paying customers’ comfort. Avoid over half term!

Visit Zizzi frequently but very disappointed today, we were still eating our starter when the waitress appeared with our main course and attempted to remove it while I was still eating , the calzonee was cold and under cooked the mushroom risotto was under cooked, felt rushed and not a good eating experience, never had to complain before but today was awful.

The restaurant was half empty, so you Would think in this time that making money is difficult, that having a group of 7 guests arriving would be a chance to bolster the takings for the day. The lady that ‘welcomed’ was looked put out from the moment we asked for a table. She walked off and put some of the many empty tables together, she then walked back and told us we could go and sit other there. Other smaller tables had servers that were welcoming and introduced themselves and clearly made the effort. We were stuck with the lady who looked like we were putting her out by giving her some work to do. We ordered extra drinks later on, which never arrived. She was keen at the end to point out the optional service charge of 17%, we didn’t leave 17%! It was not earnt or any where close warranted.

Really disappointing dining experience Ordered a garlic bread with cheese and a pasta main When the garlic bread came out it was smothered in onions and I looked and was like oh goodness, I won’t eat that, I didn’t want onions, I ordered it with cheese. It was placed on the table and the waitress walked away. My family member then pointed out again during a conversation that I wouldn’t eat it with onions and nothing was said in response to that part of the conversation My main then came out and the portion was so small, especially considering I couldn’t eat the starter and had hardly any flavour There were kids on another table and her pasta portion was bigger than mine I didn’t feel 100% before the meal as I was so so hungry and left still hungry so grabbed a McDonald’s. On the plus side the meal my family member had was lovely Very disappointing meal for me personally. Won’t be returning unfortunately

We booked here with a table of 8, plus new born baby in a buggy, the day before. The restaurant gave us a table with plenty of space at the end for the buggy. The server was Sarah, she was absolutely brilliant at her role, funny, attentive and very friendly which made everyone feel at ease. Nothing was too much and she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was lovely, the bar staff were very good and accommodating even when one of our family decided to make a liquor coffee and show them “how it’s done” 🤣. Thank you for making a special meal even more special and enjoyable.

I just had a really disappointing meal. The caprese salad was just awful, and we sent it back. I ordered chicken milanese and my friend the sea bass. The fish and chicken were oily and the vegetables were cold we did tell the server The raspberry mojito and strawberry daiquiri were the only joy Utterly disappointing food, staff were friendly though.

We visited Zizzi for lunch on Saturday. My friend and I had a delicious Mocktail each..and the sharing board...also delicious! Service was prompt and polite...we always enjoy the food and ambiance here. Will definitely return!

Went for impromptu dinner, with 4 others. Zizi's was able to accommodate us!!! However, I ordered the 6 layer lasagne. What a disappointment. It must have been 6 micro layers. It was a very tiny portion, that cost £15.00. I tried to make a joke of it thinking it would prompt the waitress to take action. She just made a remark, saying yes it's a small portion and I was worried when you ordered it., and she just moved on. But I didn't want to make a scene. Due to it being a special occasion. Please be sure you know what your ordering and portion sizes. I paid the bill which cost me £96.45. VERY PRICEY! FOR ABSOLUTE 💯 RUBBISH. THERE IS NO VALUE FOR MONEY. GO ELSEWHERE.

Three generations enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch at Zizzi Maidstone. The menu is large and varied allowing everyone to find something they liked - indeed I was torn between at least four mains. Service was excellent - efficient and friendly without intrusion. Food arrived quickly and was also excellent - a salmon risotto with delicious barbeque prawns cleverly presented on a vertical skewer with a lemon squeeze at the top, a good and substantial lasagne (my mother is hard to please and this was a hit), margherita pizza and a lentil ragu. Desserts were also good - I loved the cherry compote on the sundae. The bill was also fair @£104 including four drinks. We plan to go again.

Tommy and Joe made our family meal for grandson's 18th birthday really special. Brilliant helpful and attentive service by them both

we had a great meal and had a great time. Our server was lovely and was so kind, would definitely come back her again. The restaurant was super nice was well.

When the starter came out it was a wow. My main was disappointing, hot smoked salmon with king prawn carbonara, very dry and hardly any salmon, my husbands spaghetti and meatballs was very nice. The staff very friendly but couldn’t hear the music that was playing

Very disappointed with seabass meal. The fish is not seasoned at all, garlic butter was served on a bowl and not applied to the fish. The fish was not hot enough to melt, was very unpleasant taste while had to apply the butter on the fish. Roast vegetables were not as described in the menu. The vegetables were not seasoned at all and were very bland. Also the vegetables had a funny taste with an unpleasant after taste. Do not recommend. Will not come back.

Disappointed that was made to sit in the warmer area rather than the cooler area 😕 however service for drinks and food was good and prompt.

Shocking experience! Asked if they can serve us outside and said no, only after 5pm! Fair enough, we went inside and asked again for a table of 4 and a half aka my friends' four years old boy. The host not only didn't take it...

Went here with a friend for a catch up and it was lovely, it was around lunch time so wasn't too busy. We sat on the lower level and inside of the restaurant where there is a skylight so the sun was beaming in which was fab. The food was fresh, good portions, and the waitress and waiters were so helpful and attentive. We went here with my friends baby and they were very accomodating.

The food was good but the place was dirty. Dust on all the walls and even on wall over where food is being cooked. A staff member came out of kitchen looking un-clean and shoes were firthy as though he had been running through mud.

Enjoyed a lovely family meal today at Zizi Maidstone. This was by far the best Zizi we have visited. Staff were friendly and attentive, especially our waitress Carleen! Food came out quickly and tasted great 👍

Terrible experience, order Lasagna which was over £15 and what I was given was at least half of what it should have been in terms of size. I took my plate up to a member of staff and showed her a picture of what it was meant to look like in terms of size, and she just said it's just a different shape and that is the size that it should be. Which was complete BS, the size of it was absolutely ridiculous for the price, and there is no way anyone would be happy with paying £15+ for what I got. Was quite annoyed so I didn't bother ordering anything else as I didn't want to give them any more of my money. Won't be going back to this trash place again.

After a really tough day, our evening was eventually brightened up by a very warm and jolly welcome as we arrived at Zizzi and greeted by a lovely gentleman James.food was lovely hot and tasty. Keep up the good work.

Love the Maidstone branch. Turned up on spec on a busy Sat night and were warmly received - busy but managed to fit us in due to a few no shows. We had the fixed price menu i.e. 3 dishes - starter, mains and dessert (£23.95 I think). I had the King Prawn Spiedini and my partner the Bruchetta, both excellent. Mains for me was the Rustica Piccante pizza - my absolute favourite - nice thin crust, plenty of topping and a nice spicy kick to it. Partner had the salad which she rated as good. Both had the tiramisu for dessert which had plenty of flavour to it. All ordered via the app which is accessed via QRS code on menu. Food arrived quickly and served by lovely staff. Absolutely spot on in terms of food quality, value and service. UPDATE March 2023 - took 6 of us for my Sons birthday meal last night - received a call from Fraser the manager saying they had found some birthday cards plus a cheque and thought they might belong to my Son. They were correct! Cards now being posted together with cheque from his Gran - service above and beyond. Food was excellent again, lovely waitress and didnt cost the earth.

We were met at the door by a very friendly happy enthusiastic man which set a good tone for the visit. Someone in our party commented that we must come here often as the staff knew us, such was the greeting (we'd not been before). We were sat upstairs so had great service from the waitresses as they had a station nearby. Food portions from the mothers day menu were a lot smaller than the normal menu, but the taste and quality was good. Overall a nice meal, just a shame about the portions. Will definitely go back, and order from the standard menu 🙂

Service was good and friendly. Vegan options severely limited. Which is why we usually go to pizza express.

Even though it was ever-so busy tonight, manager and staff went above and beyond.. didn't rush service and were friendly and welcoming… still remains my number one restaurant … thankyou so much for a great evening ❤️

Booked here for an early Mothers day treat, put on table close to door so it was constantly drafty, the individual serving us was ok but we had only sat for 2 minutes before someone came over asking about drinks & food..... Food in general...

Great setting and fabulous food. My only disappointment was that we were told by the person seating us that we could get a free garlic bread by downloading the app, only to be told when the bill came that we couldn't use it after all and had to pay for said garlic bread.

First ever visit to a Zizzi's - was very pleased with the choice of food, the quality of the food and extremely good staff service. Will definitely be going back. Thanks to Joe for his attentive service

Found chicken on my pizza and I am vegetarian. They did another one that wasn't cooked properly. I won't be going again.

Went there for Christmas dinner party. The restaurant was full. We had pre ordered but still were asked to change our meals which was disappointing. The meals were not amazing for the price, the food was not hot, had a feeling that the meals were cooked and were left in the kitchen. I was looking forward to the desert but I was disappointed.

There was a party of eight of us for a Sunday lunch. Food is really indifferent. I know it's a formula chain, but come on, try and make it a little bit Italian. Problem is that we are an Italian family and expect someone who claims to be cooking an Italian meal for it to be an Italian meal. Only thing Italian is the names they've given the dishes. The waiter just wanted to get the order in and slope off upstairs for his break. Every dish we asked about, according to him, was great and one of his favourites. Not worth the money, not worth the time, not worth the car parking fee.

Maidstone branch - new wild boar pizza isn’t boar at all. Spaghetti Bol has no mince maybe one piece. Just bland 20p spaghetti sold for a stupid price. Garlic bread was bread no garlic with like three pieces of rosemary sprig and chewy. Who on...

We had our work Xmas do at Zizzis last night and the staff were fantastic. A special mention to Fraser, who made the booking process really easy and was happy to answer all my questions and requests prior to the evening. Fraser welcomed us in and showed us to our area, which was perfect for the number we had. Alex, looked after us through the night and was equally helpful and attentive. The food and wine were delicious. A great evening, thanks to the help of Fraser and Alex. Thank you.

Mishkool on the front door is the best dude. Excellent service, great food, and so quick! Mind you, he has been there 12 years nearly, so he must know the drill by now.

There was more cheese on the garlic bread than the pizza and the cheese on the pizza tasted rubbery. I have had better pizza from Tesco

3/4 pizzas we ordered had a lack of cheese. One of which the cheese hadn’t even melted and the entire pizza was lukewarm to cold. My first bad experience here and it was a big one. UPDATE: plus raw meat.
