We orderd for three meals.sausage mash. pizza.tikka curry. When the tikka came the rice was cold but if the curry had been hot it would have been fine.it was luke warm. I returned it but by the time the replacement came the rest of the family had finished eating.got a refund but this was a birthday meal and the first time i had been out not wearing a mask since covid as i have immunodefieciency.just wanted a normal meal. Not happy.

We been here last couple weeks, feed a family of 4 for £35 including drinks. Nice filling meals no complaints. Will use again.

A nice stop at the end of my days walk on the North Downs Way. I chose the Baked Potato with a Birra Moretti which cost £8.12. A good light meal which filled the gap nicely

Went for breakfast this morning and they ended up getting my order wrong. The server's attitude was that I hadn't been charged extra for their mistake so not to worry (no attempt to correct the error). My food wasn't even lukewarm, so had clearly been sat there for a while. My experience was rather disappointing as the building itself was quite nice and in a convenient location.

We went here for a family meal (group of 8 including 2 x kids). We sat down around 6.20pm and had a couple of drinks whilst we awaited everyone to arrive. At 7.25/30 we ordered our food. The waitress came over at around 7.40 and advised us that our food wouldn't be with us until after 8pm and because we had kids with us the order will be cancelled. Apparently their policy is that kids aren't allowed in the restaurant after 8pm! Wow...No signs anywhere stating this, no advice on the app as you're ordering KIDS meals at 7.25/30pm, no communication from any of the staff constantly walking past. She said she would refund the order (which still hasn't been refunded). How can you stop serving kids at 8pm? 8pm is dinner time for a lot of families. We've never had any issues in here in all the 12 years we've been coming. You've lost our business from now onwards. Shame, all it would have taken is for one of the staff to point this out when delivering our drinks (including kids drinks) or walking past.

Lovely pub friendly and professional staff nice atmosphere came here twice in a ten day period of visited from Staffordshire. The second time I came there was a incident where a 24 year old lad was talking to my underage cousin in a creepy way a member of staff noticed it and reported it to his Manager this was dealt with effectively and staff removed the guy from the pub immediately asking my cousin if she was ok multiple times it was reassuring to know that that it was dealt with so professionally big shout out to gabby the Manager !

Me and my family have been going for meals here for years and yesterday while having a meal with my kids my youngest had multiple seizures, the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to help , making us feel safe and supported , want to say a massive thank you to James and the lovely manager for making my child feel safe at a very scary time , usually it puts her off when she has seizures somewhere but will definitely continue to come back , thank you guys xxx

A big thank you to the member of staff that realised a girl alone was having a rough day. He gave the time to talk to me about what was happening with me on a busy Friday night and even came back to check on me and gave some great advice to help me through it. I don’t know his name but he is an absolute asset to the team and I won’t hesitate to ho back because of this

We went here on Friday 23/09/22 we had ordered our food and drinks and one of us dropped our drink all over the table George the manager came over and sorted everything out and got us a new meal and some more drinks he was very efficient and had great customer service we go in here quite often and we are always impressed with how attentive all the staff are once again thank you George and all your staff

I would not usually bother leaving a review for a Weatherspoon in regards to food as people come here for the cheap drink but recently their portion sizes are completely outrageous. I have never had such a small portion of food from any restaurant. The fact that all their food is frozen and not made fresh I think people should expect a reasonable amount of food for their money. My advice to anyone is, by all means drink here but do not eat here, you will leave feeling hungry there are plenty of other restaurants very close by that will not rip you off. I would suggest that if they do not increase their portion sizes they should introduce a new policy that, Adults eat for free!

Honest review This is just 30 seconds from us. Have to say nip in for quick drink, a shot, and of course bit to eat. Never had anything but quality service with a smile, cheaper drinks, good food, apart from the cold chicken sweet chilli wrap don't buy that!. The Irish bar good across the street, the chill bar also brilliant cocktails and up the road the Eagle pub, quite literally brilliant here. This place is called the glass house, it's very clean, big, good toilets, Fire Place,outside smoking area, seats for eating, modern, and very atmosphere..

Millie was very very sweet she helped change my wine when she didn’t have to the other waitress was very Efficient and apologise for the wait on our cocktails and brought our food out straightaway nice atmosphere great food great cocktails

This pub is dirty and smells always when I visit it looks a mess tables all stacked high with plates cups glasses floors always covered in food dirt whenever order food drink on app takes ages to come out to your table then when it does comes either wrong or cold and management are nothing but rude!!!! Need to learn to keep their premises clean!!!!! just generally will never ever be visiting this place again dirty horrible place!!!!

We had George Collins as our waiter and he was absolutely amazing! Couldn't fault his amazing people skills enough. Not from here and made me feel as though I was at home. Would 10/10 recommend!

I enjoy coming here it's convenient and reliable priced but the staff could be more polite and trained better as my drink was under measured I ordered a Bailey witch is a 50ml per shot but the young man only did 25ml I didn't say any thing at the time as I didn't want to make a fuss.

Visited for breakfast this morning and although seems good value the breakfast was cold with a snotty egg , your much better off paying another couple of pounds in a good cafe, won't be back.

Went for drink on Monday lunch time. Quite a few people in the pub, but we were served quite quickly, as always, the bar staff are very efficient and friendly.Found two arm chairs to sit in and enjoyed our pre-lunch bottle of Prosecco, at a very reasonable price.

Handy place to stop for a half before or after a train journey. Pretty average for a wetherspoons. Long wait at the bar to be served. Plenty of choice. Lots of seating but people were having to stand as it is a busy venue.

There were 7 of us on this visit, we were served quite quickly and all of us at the same time. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Great for a quick lunch-time meal. I had fish n chips and the fish wasn't cooked through, but to be fair they quickly replaced it. I've since had other meals, and been pleased. It gets very busy, and you can have quite a wait at the bar but it's usually a really nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Bright and cheerful, plenty of staff, big selection of beers and ales, plus vast array of spirits and wines. The food is great value and of a good standard.

Went for a pint after the Maidstone United v. Southport match. However, the beer quality was one of the porrest I have ever experienced in a J D Wetherspoon pub. A chap had earlier advised me not to bother with it when I asked how to find some CAMRA Good Beer Guide pubs, and he was right. I nearly left my pint which was flat and tasteless.

Had to pop into Maidstone on Saturday, wanted somewhere for lunch that we knew was safe for someone gluten free.Decided on the society rooms and we weren't disappointed. Plenty on the menu to choose from and at a reasonable price, standard is much the same in Wetherspoons, it was very good. We had an assistance dog with us, she laid under the table and was fully accepted.Will certainly go againThank you

I went to this pub for a drink, I had already eaten at the Muggleton Inn. The food looked good, (standard Wetherspoon menu), It was a pleasant experience. Recommended.

if you are looking for a place for chat, laugh and fun this is the good place in Maidstone to go. Drinks are not expensive , music is very chill and service is also nice.

I had a large breakfast and my partner chose eggs benedict. This isn't gourmet food, but in terms of value for money it is unbeatable. If you want a filling meal at a good price, Wetherspoons is a great choice.

Non invasive atmosphere generally but Xmas busy times a place to bring ear defenders. Food excellent and always good value. Staff attentive!

A favourite of ours when in town doing some shopping. A short stop for some lunch and a pint in between shopping. Tuesday is a good one if your free, great steak day, excellent with a pint of bitter.Right at the end of the high street

Finished off my evening with friends here on Wednesday before catching the train home. We ordered food and it arrived quickly. was good quality for what we paid and going in with your eyes open.

It was ok but could do with some music the place was clean and the staff were friendly you have to get there early to find a seat as it is really busy with youngsters pre drinking before going to the clubs

went in for a meal after church on new years eve before it got to busy. quick service at the bar by lora I think, ordered 2 steaks my aunt wanted the fat cut off hers which was done, cooked the way we asked, 2 meals with drinks (one large) less than £22 result, meal came to table very quickly really enjoyed it thank you

Often pop in here whilst waiting for a train back to Wrotham and I am rarely disappointed by the range and quality of Real Ales on offer. Today was no exception!

Absolutely fantastic !!!! Staff was polite and quick to help - A table of 4 adults , 2 separate orders - the service was so quick , we waited less than 15 minutes for our food - so impressed ! Great value for money and the food was gorgeous! No complaints at all.

Amazing place for burnt Bahjis and poppadoms oozing oil as for the nan bread I gave it the doorman on the way out to use as a night stick it was that hard

Visited the Society Rooms last week for a lunch. Although it was very busy, the service was good and did not have to wait too long for our meal. Much improvement on our last visit.

Came here for some work drinks, really nice atmosphere- nice and clean, not to noisy. Drinks not to badly priced, fairly reasonable. Nice evening

11 am Sunday morning so you would expect the breakfast to be fresh. All cold and the toast was burnt as if it had been toasted twice.Won't be returning.

You can't go too far wrong with a Wetherspoons. Food and drink is cheap, there is a good selection, it's served quickly and it tastes good.

A very busy Society Rooms due to a local football match, But we still found a table with no trouble and we where served promptly. Lovely meal, quick service, and very reasonable prices, We will visit again. only down side tables could have been cleaned better...

I was in Maidstone and heading for one of its train stations when I realised that I had 1/2 hour before my train. As I approached I spied The Society Rooms across the road so rather than waiting for 1//2 hour on the platform I could spend it in Wetherspoons much better. I wandered in through the doors and marvelled at the glass frontage. At the bar I ordered a beer and sat at a table to pass the time. There were plenty of people having an early lunch plus the usual morning drinkers chatting away sorting out the world. I quickly noticed that I could catch a different train that would leave in 10 minutes so I drank up and left. I almost had a half an hour to watch the world pass by.

One of my favourite weatherspoon pubs. I have eaten here on many occasions and not had a bad meal yet. I would recommend the society rooms for a great meeting point in Maidstone.

If you're looking for a night out in Maidstone in a pub that isn't absolutely filled to the brim with pre-drinkers, then I'd say this is the place. Always my preference, as even on a Friday or Saturday night, it is not nearly as busy as the other pubs in the centre of town. Spoons is always a safe bet as the food is good and the drinks are cheap, and you can actually find somewhere to sit down.Also, the toilets are really nice.

I went there with my family and a friend. The table was a bit dirty, we have asked a waitress to clean the table and she dropped all dirt over our trousers. Guys at the till were nice. I have ordered a vanilla ice cream (very good) but I would say more "milk" ice cream because it tasted a lot of milk but not vanilla. The other order was apple crumble and I believe was not homemade custard because we could still taste some powder with what they make custard.

I had a deli deal and hubby had a burger and pint. Good value but a bit of a wait for food. (about half an hour) when server bought food he apologised for wait and offered us a free drink. this went down very well. overall a nice meal in pleasant surroundings. there is a large outside eating area which is covered to stop birds.

Once again, we had lunch at the Society Rooms today. As it's Monday, the special was Mexican. We shared a small (! it was a full bowl!) of Nachos, I had a Naked Burrito and hubby had fish and chips. I assume he enjoyed his - he cleared the plate. So did I - it was delicious! His beers (guest ales - he loves them) were good as usual, and I had Pepsi Max (which not all Wetherspoons serve, sadly). Slightly hard seats, but wi-fi and lots of people-watching from the huge picture windows - we had an enjoyable afternoon. Thank you.

Arranged to meet friends here, prior to going to lunch at a near by restaurant. Got served quickly by a friendly barman. However , the pub table and chairs looked like they were more suited to a kitchen, as there were several of them it gave the impression of a canteen!.

Place is okay for quick lunch, big, spacious, it might need a bit more tidy, stuff are okay not that friendly.Food is good for the money, portions just right.

This is above average as the food I ate was well cooked and the staff had listened and acted upon my whims for how I liked it cooked. There is a good range of beers. Far better than the other Spoons in town. Not only is the food better cooked than their rival Spoons, and the choice of beers much better, what was clearly noticeable was the quality and helpfulness of the staff. The building is also lighter and more airy than the other Spoons which makes it a more attractive pub.

Visit this establishment twice a month, and have always found it to be an enjoyable place to eat and drink (fFsh & Chips excellent) Prices very good can have a good night out taxi home works out cheaper than my local!!

Although this is a high turnover town centre pub the food is suprisingly good and the liquid refreshment very good value

On a short break in Maidstone and had food and drinks. Food was good and hot and served very quick.The choice of real ales was excellent and well kept. The staff were very friendly and polite.The tables were cleared quickly. The whole pub was clean.Well done to all the staff(including cleaners) for the high standards.

This is a good place for meeting up with people and have a catch up, that's what we did, spent most of the day in here meeting up with friends. Plenty of places to sit with a nice outdoors seating area for sunny days or smokers. The food is OK, they do burger and free drink deals which a lot of people seemed to go for. They also have daily manager specials which can be really good. They do 2 different size cocktail jugs now, you have normal and large but I only got 2 glasses out of the large jug so basically paid £4 a glass. We had food while we were there, I had a philly cheese steak sandwich which wasn't very nice, the cheese tasted horrible and cheap, the meat was hard and the baguette was hard. My husband had the gourmet burger which he really liked. Later on in the day I had the Buffalo chicken wings which were really nice with the hot sauce. My friend had a bowl of cheesy chips which had horrible cheap cheese on the chips and there wasn't even much in the bowl.

Food is great and prices are even better ;) We had the Curry Club menu which they offer every thursday and it was delicous,served with naan bread, rice,mango chutney, poppadums and offcourse a drink. Great walue for money ;) We had Chicken jalfrezi and Beeg Madras and both were great.

This place is OK and certainly better then the Muggleton Inn also a J D Wetherspoon but not by much.The service is OK but the food is very basic and most times comes up cold. Maidstone is getting worst by the week for food outlets and over the years we’ve seen a general decline. I suppose you get the food you deserve if you let standards slip.

Always pop in for a drink and a bite to eat when I'm in town , great selection of wines, ale , cider and larger. Wide chose on the food menu. Lots of deals on meals with a drink. For sure it's worth a visit after you been shopping in town .

Better than The Muggleton Inn (the other Wetherspoons in Maidstone) as its more open plan and modern, but also the food here seems to be slightly better cooked too.The bar can get very busy on Friday and Saturday nights and the wait for a drink is normally quite excessive at these points.Right next to the station though and does a decent Pub Quiz on Monday nights.

Good wraps .. makes for a good quick work lunch meet up. Reasonably priced.Service was fairly quick considering it's lunch Atmosphere what you can expect from this sort of place.Clean which is the main thing

This is one of two Wetherspoons pubs in Maidstone town, this one being adjacent to Maidstone East railway station so handy when your train is delayed...Out of the two, I prefer this one, The Society Rooms. It has more atmosphere and the layout / decor feels more comfortable. Excellent selection of ales to choose from, all at a great price, and pleasant staff.

This has been one of the more reliable Wetherspoons that I have been to over the years, hence the 4/5 rather than a 2 or 3. It is also the Wetherspoons of choice for me in Maidstone, mostly due to its location near to the train station. Decent burger and steak meals served up on this particular occasion. Good, but not outstanding. However, for value for money it is hard to beat a Wetherspoons meal, when it is done right of course!

service was bad, staff , not helpful and worse , dare to complained manager calls you and verbally passive aggressive to me on phone, wonder is it was man he had to speak to,would he been so rude, food was luke warm and over cooked, it was as it was already done, precooked, we ask meduim steaks got over done fatty steaks, chicken nuggets bland , overall if you want bad service , badly prepared food, empty sauce bottles and insults to yourself from manager , then this placed to go, shame on ceo , who hides behind written complaints, as customer service number waste of time, they just hang up on you

it has very nice food and pleasant staff and it is good value for money. nice surroundings. always clean and tidy.

What a fantastic place, especially when getting off the train after work to pop in for a quick one before carrying on home.Great value for money and a really good selection, seldom have to wait at the bar to be served.The furnace is fantastic and certainly helps to keep you snug in the colder months.Love the breakfasts in here too, really good selection and there's choices to have them with drinks which are all reasonably priced.

The worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant I would never go into this place again. I went in with a large group of family and my three year old son. My son was standing a few feet away from me at the bar when I was ordering our lunch and I got told I can not have him running around like that in here I explained he is not running around he is standing a few feet away from me and I have eye contact with him at all times. The response I got from Kirsty who was working behind the bar was well this is a pub not a playground. At this response I went back to my family and explained I can not eat in a place where the staff speak to people like this and said I was going to the bar and get a refund and then my son and I would leave. When at the bar I asked Kirsty why is there kids menus on the table if you do not want kids in here she couldn't answer that but then said again this is a pub not a playground. When walking to the table to get my things to leave a male staff member with brown hair and a beard put his arm up in the air and chanted yayyy lets kick a child down the stairs. And as I walked past the bar to leave Kirsty said again go and take your child to a playground. I left with my son crying asking what had he done wrong? I was also crying as I was so angry how anyone could behave like this to my three year old son. I went home and called head office to explain how I had been treated and so did family members as they was all discussed. This happened a few weeks ago before Christmas but it still plays on my mind that's why I am writing this review Tim the manager knows all about what happened but im still very unhappy about this and think I should warn other families with young children going in here. Just because its a cheap place the staff think they can talk to people how the want. This sort of behaviour wouldn't happen any where else. It still upsets me.

Got early to Maidstone, and straight from train station we went to look for breakfast options with McDonlad's right there on sight. But before we got there, The Society Rooms attracted our attention, so we thought why not. And that was a very good idea. Modern interior with plenty of room. We placed our orders at the bar and after a short while our delicious food was on the table, served by friendly staff. All in the way we like. Deffinitelly would reccommend.

Great location in the centre of town and plenty of space. Prices are very reasonable fir food and drinks and has a great outdoor area.Overall there is a nice atmosphere here with friends or just on your own

I have recently developed a habit of frequenting The Society Rooms in Maidstone every friday morning. Excellent value for money, Decent Portions and (perhaps the most important for me) lots of vegetarian options. The morning staff are friendly and seem to stick to the same shifts and the food is cooked and is on your table quickly. They never have any problem tailoring the items on the menu either, i am not a fan of egg and would much prefer another sausage. The only critisism i have is that the plates are not heated before serving the food, sometimes resulting in cold food.

Tried this second Weatherspoon restaurant and found it surprisingly pleasant. Could not fault the food and all the staff were pleasant and paid particular attention to clearing and cleaning tables.

Just want to thank the staff for hosting a monthly deaf get together. Reserved seating and patient staff make all the difference. Always a good night.

We have used this Wetherspoons on quite a few occasions both during the day and forSunday lunch and have always had good food and polite staff. The cooked breakfasts are very good value for money, the Sunday lunch is always well cooked and tasty. I would recommend eating here, and value for money can't be beaten.

I like the food and the bar prices are very reasonable.Friday night is hectic.Good for young people.During the week ok for every age.

Walked to here from home, 40 minutes, well worth it. Great value drinks and food. Good service, food hot and quick to arrive. Only one wee thing is it sometimes is a bit of a crèche in there, if we had wanted to spend time with screaming children, we would have gone to visit family........

Had a family birthday meal, visited this particular place due to having three children in party and they do have things on menu they would like. Being a sunday picked the roast option, never had a roast in a wetherspoons before so unsure of quality. The place was very busy so sunday roast day obviously popular with wide ranging ages in for lunch, but as busy, service was poor, seemed not enough waiting staff,food was passable, tasty lamb,yorkie nice, mash awful, peas ....well they were peas,gravy okay. Puddings similar quality although had issues with wrong orders served when had made particular requests, average meal at best,wont rush back for sunday meal.

We went for the Monday Mexican this week. We tried this Wetherspoons because our usual one (Rochester) is closed for refurbishment; we were pleasantly surprised to find the beer choices ample and the food served quickly and politely. We had a lovely table overlooking Week St and spent a good hour people-watching, as well as eating and drinking. I had the burrito with pulled pork. Hubby had the classic burger. Both were fresh and tasty. The beers were well-kept and hubby enjoyed both that he tried. Yours truly was driving - the Pepsi was served chilled with a slice of lime and went down a treat; as did the blood orange San Pellegrino. An enjoyable meal and we will probably be back even after our regular pub re-opens.

Following my visit with three freinds to find only two of curries and lack essential sides available on curry night last month I complained to weatherspoons about this issue. The complaint was handled quickly and I was offered three complementary meals in s rooms. All the curries and sides were in stock, the presentation and quality of the cooking has greatly improved. A real improvement from weatherspoons and the staff and management in this pub.

Great value for money when it comes to the price of any drinks. If you want to save money but get a skinful of booze, this is the place to go.

You really can't complain at the cost of a family Meal at £22 my girls had a child's menu and we had steak as it was Tuesday the food was hot and plenty of it. As always a good visit and good value for money

Decided not to cook the Sunday roast and go back to The Society Rooms again with friends.Again the standard of food very good from an enormous menu which would satisfy any diners' wishes.Great variety of ales with some exceptionally good Craft Beers.Food served surprisingly quickly by friendly and courteous waiting staff.Great service, look forward to our next visit.

Me and a couple of freinds came here hoping for a curry club deal only to find that there were barely any curries available, added to this no naan bread or pilau rice. This pub has improved no end recently but this let down was ridiculous so we cut our losses and headed to the muggleton inn where joy of joys they had curry.

Lately the food in here has been a bit hit and miss - I used to like the chicken burgers but the last couple I've had have been overcooked and dry. But food and drink are both cheap and service is quick.Thursday's Curry Club never disappoints though! :-)

Very noisy but of talking people I need music there but never heard , food not best , always dirty on tables , I was there year ago that way I do not want back

Went in with some friends for a quick meal and a few drinks.Ordered a large mixed grill which was absolutely amazing well worth the price which also came with a free drink.Later ordered a round of 3 pints and a morgans spiced and Pepsi which came to under £10.Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a bite and a drink to come here.
