The Boathouse in Maidstone

Had lunch to celebrate my birthday and retirement. Booked via the website. Which asked any special requests. I asked for a table by the river. On arriving details taken, but then asked where would we like to sit. Thankfully there were tables by the river. They have definitely followed the COVID19 instructions and my wife and I actually think they were visited during the lunch by someone checking they were. I had the pepperoni pizza and my wife the sausage sandwich plus onion rings. This was all great. I also had the Eton mess, which was wonderful. They don’t have a drink menu, which is a bit annoying, but our waitress knew the available drinks we were after I would agree with the other recent review, that there is no after care, that could be covid19 related. Though we would definitely be happy to return

Not desperate to return - which is a shame! We’ve had our eye on this place for a while because it looks lovely and is right on the river and waited until we had some annual leave and there would be parking available haha! The staff were friendly enough & it was well thought out from a COVID-19 point of view. The pizza was incredibly greasy - swimming in fact on top. The beer battered onion rings and chips were good though. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned when we got there (eew!) and once we got our food we then had to ask for another drink and also had to ask for the bill, there was no “aftercare” once the order had been taken.

My wife and I had a lovely lunch here at The Boathouse sat on bench overlooking the river. The staff were really attentive and friendly from the moment we arrived. The food was great and came in good time - my meaty pizza was hot, fresh and very tasty. My wife had the sirloin steak which was cooked just how she asked with really good chips. We would definitely return.

We (4 of us) had lunch here today after kayaking. We booked in advance. We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. Explained the track and trace system and we gave our details. We had our pickof tables, inside, outside, by the river.Our server was great, drinks and food order taken quickly. Drinks arrived, lovely cold shandy! Food arrived. We all had the cheese and bacon burger with the loaded chips! OMG - you have to order the loaded chips, they were amazing.Paid bill and left. Everything was clean, straight forward, COVID friendly. Beautiful setting, very tasty lunch. WOuld defo recommend this place and will defo be coming back!

The Boathouse is a nice place to visit. Good, friendly service. A little bit pricey however the quality of the food is worth it.

Sat outside with nice view of river. good covid procedures. Service was just at the right pace. Went for lunch and we had crab salad (excellent) sandwiches and loaded chips (very nice). Overall a very nice lunchtime experience and will go again.

This was my first experience at this restaurant and only my second meal out, since lockdown. Thank you for a great evening & lovely food!

Visited here during a weekend break near Yalding, Friendly greeting on arrival where you have to give your details and shown to your seat, good social distancing measure in place, food was great and attentive staff. Well done!

I've had three meals since lockdown has been lifted, two in July and one in August under the eat out to help out. Ever single occasion was perfect. Service good, social distancing and ordering good food excellent.

We visited the boathouse on Saturday night, normal prices and nine in our group, the restaurant was very busy but I must say the young waitresses and waiters were very prompt , we didn’t have to wait long for our drinks, starters, or mains, and they were very polite and helpful at all times , one guest was gluten free and they assisted in making sure there meal was made to the requirements , all in all well managed well looked after and thanks to the boathouse

We had dinner here as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme so it was very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient and good covid measures, well spaced tables etc. We were a little disappointed in the food. I had samosas for starters and they were very dry and hard. For main course my daughter and I had pizza and my husband fish and chips. I found the tomato sauce on the pizza to be very, very sweet - so only ate half (although my daughter said her pizza was fine, but she does have a very sweet tooth!). My husband's fish was mostly batter with a very small amount of actual fish - although we saw other diners being served what looked like much bigger portions of fish. So a little disappointing. Although I will say my eldest daughter has had lunch at the Boathouse a number of times and always praises the food - perhaps we were just a little unlucky!

Lovely lunch with family and friends yesterday , food was lovely , couldn’t ask for any better service , staff were all attentive and we didn’t feel rushed . Will defiantly return to try something different on the menu as it all sounds yummy .

I'd been told by friends that the pizzas here were good - and they were excellent! Nice thin base, good dough, crispy round the edge. Ate outside by the river, staff were as usual very welcoming, friendly and helpful (normally just stop by for a drink). Well organised COVID procedures, contact logs, reception, hand cleansers, floor markings etc.

My friend and I booked in for an early dinner yesterday having paddled from Tonbridge to Yalding. The service was top star from start to finish. All staff were friendly, especially the lady who took the booking and greeted us. The drinks and food came out quickly and was delicious (we both had pizzas). They are covid friendly with a one way system. Cannot recommend enough.

We had lunch in this lovely pub/restaurant. The staff and very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was great too. We sat on the terrace over looking the river. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend the Boathouse

Drove from Hastings to visit here for lunch and am not disappointed. Food was lovely and the scenery beautiful. Staff were amazing with a friendly welcome and prompt service especially as it was so hot. Our waitress was jade who was so attentive. Will definitely visit again. 9 star !!!!

Visted on a nice sunny evening with friends and family. Arrived and queued for about 10 minutes as there was a few people waiting to get in. The team showed us to our table and took our food and drink order. Came in a timely manner and was good! Even better that they are in the Eat out to help out scheme so the bill was super cheap!Pleasant evening all round.My only feedback I would give is to have heat lamps as when the sun goes down it gets very chilly (not that its their fault) but we would of probably stayed longer for more drinks if they had them.

My wife found this place when she googled pubs by the river and what a find it was! We booked a table but on arrival there was space outside in the sun which was glorious! There are added procedures in place due to COVID but these did not affect our experience. They we communicated clearly and professionally and stuck to by all staff. The food was delicious, great choice, good portions and very well presented. We were very well looked after by Cleo and her team who were very attentive and knowledgeable and made our visit very enjoyable. Highly recommended and we will be returning!Simon Beer and family.

We booked for lunch on Friday 23rd after completing a leisurely canoe trip along the river from Tonbridge. The "social-distancing" was adhered to on arrival and we were greeted by avery nice young man and things just got better from then on. In these mad times the whole experience of having lunch out (for the first time in 16 weeks) was made even more enjoyable by the staff and the food served. Georgina was our waitress and was pleasant, informative and a credit to The Boathouse team.

What a pleasure!! I came to the boathouse for a quick lunch fix and was so happy with my experience. Firstly I was greated with a massive smile by Jade, who then took me to a table with a brilliant view of the pub and river I then had a delicious pint of spitfire lager, poured by a lovely bartender called Ben. Followed by this mushrooms on toast dish which was incredible and just what I needed!!A very quick visit but I'm so glad that I stopped by!!! Thankyou to the boathouse team

We took a chance without booking after walking a few miles along the Medway from our campsite at the Hop Farm. We were welcomed with a smile and found a table quickly. Ordered drinks and food, Ben was amazingly fast at fetching our order. Food was great, and reasonably priced too. The staff here are very friendly and attentive, especially Ben & Cleo. If we were staying nearby longer, we’d pop back again.

Our 1st outing to a restaurant since lockdown rules were relaxed and I’m so glad we chose the Boathouse. We were served by Cleo and Jo. Both professional and friendly. Took the time to explain the precautions being taken post Covid 19 and were patient as we explained it all to our 2.5 year old. I highly recommend as a spacious, family friendly restaurant with a scenic view.

This was our first visit to the Boathouse, we called in without a reservation but were made to feel very welcome. We were greeted by a lovely waitress called Cleo, she found us a table and explained the whole COVID precautions very well. We felt very safe, and the outdoor terrace was lovely. Although we only had drinks, we saw lovely plates of food coming out. We will be coming back for food shortly. Thank you Cleo for making us feel welcome.

Visited the Boathouse for my recent birthday meal with family.Such a lovely location next to the river and locks.Our waitress Cleo was out of this world - so friendly and would go out of her way to help. Best waitress service I have probably ever experienced. The rest of the team were good too.The food was great and the measures put in place due to COVID 19 were brilliant. They have it covered.

We decided to go for a quick refreshment after our boating trip. And the waitress we had couldn’t of been better.. she saw we had a baby and the first thing she grabbed was a HIGHCHAIR! She didn’t even ask! It was heart warming for the fact she was preparing us for our visit WITHOUT QUESTIONS.. she was always making sure we were ok, Not just by coming over to the table but even making eye contact even if we didn’t need anything. She was very welcoming and so polite. But also made us laugh. The waitress we had was called CLEO. Even with COVID-19 going on, she kept her distance but would definitely be going again! We were treated 10/10..Thank you cleo!

We went with some friends for lunch and booked the table for through the manager Mike who was very accommodating. We decided to get a train to Yalding and the walk from the station took only ten minutes. When we arrived we were greated by Cleo who showed us to our table. The service from Cleo and Jo was fantastic. The food was freshly prepared and came out in a timely manner and was delicious. It was great to see staff and customers following the social distancing rules. We actually missed our train once we left and went back to have a drink whilst we waited for the next one. Once again Cleo was really lovely and found us a table in the sun.Would highly recommend this place but book in advance to avoid disappointment as it was really busy.

We went to the boathouse for my sisters birthday with family. I’ve been to boathouse before and and have loved the food and the views. However, with the outstanding service from our waitress Cleo, this time has topped previous visits! she was so welcoming and clearly very experienced. She had the best attitude and was all round so lovely! Highly recommend!

Cleo was extremely helpful and very friendly. All other staff were welcoming and the whole place was fantastically organised. Great food and drink in an excellent location...

Came for lunch on a Saturday and although the area was extremely busy and we had a bit of trouble finding parking we felt extremely at ease when we turned up a little late only to be told it was no problem. Tara was extremely helpful and friendly and explained all the Covid precautions to us then let us choose our table outside, despite us having booked inside. Cleo, our server, was exceptionally friendly and well informed, and had great conversation as well as being extremely attentive. The food and drink was excellent too, with a limited but still great selection. Fantastic experience, can't wait to come back.

Covid-19 precautions in place but still retains much of the atmosphere. Strongly adhering to guidelines means a limited menu but worth a visit. Staff friendly and relaxed to put customers at ease. Will be back again soon but please book to avoid disappointment

Amazing food and beer, best place to visit post lockdown! Waitress Cleo was amazing, putting everyone at ease whilst keeping to social distancing standards. Best service!

Went for a weekend lunch a week or so after The Boathouse reopened. Everything was good in terms of social distancing tables and one-way systems, and all the customers stayed in their seats through the duration of their meals. Food and drinks were nice and at a reasonable price.I just think it requires a bit more organisation. There were no drinks menus which was slightly disappointing (although our waitress said they were coming soon). Service was slow as well, unsure whether they were short staffed but it didn’t seem busy at all. I would definitely go back in a few weeks though! The setting is beautiful by the lock!

My friends and I had lunch at the Boathouse today, the food was great! We all had the Cheese and bacon burger and we all enjoyed it ! The atmosphere was very friendly, the staff was very attentive and helpful. Cleo was great giving us recommendations for desert and finding out about the ingredients for a friend who asked, the team great at sorting out an alternative.I strongly recommend and I will be visiting again !!

Our first meal out in 5 months, my husbands birthday dinner plus a belated birthday for myself.Made us feel safe asked if they could approach the table to serve ect. Tables all laid out to abide by social distancing, one way system with arrows clearly showing you where to go.Slimmed down menu but a lovely choice, we had a kids meal, pepperoni pizza, Cheese burger and two vegan burgers and it was all delicious! Used my birthday voucher which I signed up for last year, so that was a nice treat as my meal was free.Sam and Cleo where fantastic, thank you for making our first meal out enjoyable I forgot to leave a tip, which I feel awful about but clearly forgot after not dining out for so long! Thanks again for making the new normal less scary!

Was a walk in on a Saturday (11th July), late lunch, just 2 days after the Boathouse reopened. Went in very hungry after kayaking on the river!I was a little apprehensive that it might be a bit soulless during pandemic (or that hygiene was inadequate).However, everything was very well done. Greeted on arrival and explained the set up - eg hand sanitiser available at entrance and exit, table service only (no going up to the bar), card payment and (clearly marked) one way system. Tables well spaced out, inside and outside. Immaculate.My serving person was Cleo who was lovely - friendly and professional - and helped with the menu. Portions were generous and service was prompt. I had the chicken salad which was very good.Accreditations / covid risk assessments were on view at the entrance and clearly a lot of though had gone into how to make the Boathouse Covid safe while still remaining a good customer experience .

Our 1st meal out so slightly apprehensive. Staff, food and set up were fantastic. Clear signage,so everyone knows what to do. Had a really enjoyable family meal. Cleo our waitress was fab.👍

Great Sunday lunch here today - generous portions served by friendly staff. Highly recommend. Definitely worth the drive and negotiation of temporarily closed level crossing!

Ate here recently with friends, menu options were very good and the food was lovely with good size portions. Quiet for a winter Sat but the river setting will be lovely in the warmer weather. Staff were friendly and attentive but it was a quiet night. Unfortunately our visit was overshadowed by a sewage pong that drifted in from the car park, hopefully just a one off but most unpleasant.

This place is decorated well and probably will be great in the summer. However, it’s another place that has so much potential but is just distinctly average. The place was dead on a Friday night, and there was zero atmosphere. The staff are nice but this place lacks any soul. Food was OK and it’s probably a fine place for a pint for a meal out it doesn’t really fit the bill.

Visited last night for my partner’s birthday - was very bad weather so really quiet but still a lovely atmosphere and the food was really really good! Had a starter and mains - excellent value for money and good service. Would highly recommend! (We realised after paying, didn’t have any cash for a tip ... will definitely be returning and will leave extra next time - 100% worth it and would highly recommend to others )

Donee here Sunday night with a group of friends as a Christmas catch up. Food fairly priced, arrived in good time and of good quality. Catered well for the kids in our group, with nothing being too much trouble. First visit positive. No doubt will return in the summer!

Excellent customer service and food was really tasty. The manager was excellent and great with helping order food for my fussy 3 min year old. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend

Our friends suggested to visit the boathouse on a Saturday evening. Table was booked early evening. Venue quite large with many tables, but not used on this occasion.Staff were ok, menu was acceptable..... my husband and I were concerned about visiting this restaurant after reading the reviews. But the food was excellent and reasonably priced.I did find that this restaurant had no atmosphere, which was a shame. Despite the excellent food, I do not think we will be returning for its not a place we would want to spend our evening.

Booked a table here after viewing the Sunday roast menu online which was extensive and included a vegan option. When we arrived the menu was completely different, very basic and no vegan roast option at all. We had to order mushroom risotto which was cold and totally bland. It’s only not a one star review because the location was lovely on the river.

Popped into the boathouse last Saturday , food lovely staff prompt u don’t have to wait to long and your not pressured on getting out quickly ,a really nice place to visit for lunch or dinner right on the river too fantastic in the summer would recommend any time.

Went there today for a Sunday lunch which looking at their website sounded good. Braised red cabbage was on the menu which we both really like however when dinner was served no red cabbage, as it changes apparently, the rest was lukewarm the parsnips looked boiled not roasted & the french beans & sugar snap peas were literally raw. We asked for some parsnips that had actually been roasted but these didn’t arrive until we’d finished our meal & they were just the same as the ones on our plates!! It always amazes us how many places get something as simple as a roast dinner so utterly wrong. We should have known we were in for a disappointment as it was fairly empty. They did take one meal off our bill which was something but certainly won’t eat there again & would not recommend!!!

Visited with friends a couple of weeks ago. Nice pub with great location. Staff were very friendly, and efficient. Had light bites for lunch which were well cooked, and tasty. Would definitely go back, especially in the summer months when you can sit outside.

Myself and my partner came from surrey last night, pop in to see family on the way and then from there on was a surprise, I noticed teapot island and this beautiful thatched pub/restaurant, alongside the canel, situated in a nice location.

This is a great place to go to. Seating both inside and out (weather permitting), and a nice view of the river. we had a party of 6 and all the food we had was very good and the bill came to just over £100 including a couple of drinks each, so great value. We will go again, and you can get no better complement than that.

Located on the Medway River at the wier in Yalding. Fantastic location. Great menu has something for everyone. Portions were ample, food well prepared and presented. Good balance and variety off ingridients and both of us really enjoyed it

We booked a table for a family roast and were not disappointed ,food was wonderful, staff (Aidan) was so helpful . Would recommend the roast to all . Will be back soon.

Shame really, went with our family for lunch and whilst the food was very good, the ambience of the place was really lacking. I had been looking forward to going here for sometime as I had driven past it whilst the refurbishment had been taking place. The staff were not terribly interested in their customers and when I was waiting to be served quite a few just ignored me or walk passed, instead of welcoming me and saying that they would be with me in a moment. The food was very tasty and good, my husband had the scampi, my son the burger, and I had the trout, which was really good. We sat outside and this seemed a little bare, with just bench tables, a few flowers would not have gone a miss. Will go back, maybe it was just a bad day.

Visited with my Nan and uncle, I had the chicken schnitzel which was very good, tasty and plentiful, my Nan had the burger which she enjoyed, by my uncle was let down by the margherita pizza, it came out with about 4 cherry tomatoes just chucked on top, and was undercooked and doughy, nevertheless we ate our food and left full

I had a meeting here and it was very sunny that day, so the out side area was even more tempting on this day, but I sat inside due to my meeting.

6 of us old work mates get together every 4weeks or so with our wives , so we look for something interesting , and nice as the ladies deserve to be spoilt , the boat house did not let us down , good food and helpful advice from the staff

Hi stumbled across this place a few months ago after an 8 mile walk.we hadn’t booked and it was the weekend but were seated in the snug which we loved.Had a bowl of mussels and my husband had a substantial sandwich with a crisp glass of wine,delicious.We enjoyed it so much we did a long walk at the end of August on one of the hottest days of the year.This time we sat outside overlooking the river.Again a great experience.

Getting use to the terrible service by the pub / restaurant. Last time we visited The Boathouse and wrote feedback we was told manager off for the day. It was run absolutely terrible. Slow service understaffed and was given reasons by the manager for naff running. Yesterday we looked on website for times and booking information all was ok with times opening & closing. Drove 10 miles to Boathouse to find it closed with fencing all round it no signs to say it was shut. Rang there number no answer after a few rings went onto answer machine. The place is nice with refit but disgrace in how its run. Not worth a visit anymore.

Lovely location on the river, a hidden gem, recently refurbished, light and airy with lots of seating. We booked the snug area (original thatched roof) for a small gathering of friends and family for a retirement function. Mike (the manager) and his team had been great helping us organise this event from the beginning. On the day the staff were very attentive towards our needs and the food we pre ordered was delicious and serviced exactly to the time we had requested!!! We also ordered welcome drinks for our guests too and we were able to decorate the area with balloons, banners and bunting to go with our theme. Would definitely recommend hiring this space for private functions and events.

Right on the river. Spacious seating mostly. I'd go again. We stopped here after a canoe trip for food and a few drinks. Get good evening sun.

Came for a light Sunday lunch. Didnt realise it was Shepherd Neame tied but glad they had the range of lagers Neame do. Good pints of Bear Island. Lovely squid, chips and gyoza. Great location on the Medway for the summer.

The atmosphere is amazing there. It is so peaceful and quiet. We chose a table, then went into the restaurant and ordered our food and drinks. Instead of the classic restaurant 'get shown to your table and the waiter/waitress comes to you', you choose your own table then go to order and pay at the Bar. You bring your drinks back and several minutes later your food is brought by a waiter/waitress. The 14" pizzas can be boxed up to takeaway if you don't finish them - which I think is a fantastic idea! When you are finished, you just leave, unless you want your pizza boxed, in which case you take your plate to the bar. This was my first time and I would certainly go again. Thank you The Boathouse!

Visited my sister and decided to come here for lunch lovely place we sat outside food was lovely and price very good food cooked well nice and hot staff very friendly will defo be back would recommend this place

Just recently bought a boat moored in Yalding so quite new to the area. Had a lovely river walk and stopped here for lunch. The sausage and mustard mash was gorgeous. Nice thickly tasty sausages in a delicious gravy. Just what I needed. My sister had the fish and she said it was cooked to perfection and it did look spot on. Good selection of gins and the draft cider is lovely. We will be back in soon as my daughter insists on having the salted caramel desert again. That was delicious too :)

We reserved a table for 4 people, and when we arrived we wasn’t shown our table? Chairs were missing and we had to get them from inside, we then asked for an umbrella as it was extremely hot and I’m pregnant was told we couldn’t get one although every other table had one. Found it really bad service staff didn’t seem to care when we complained eventually ended up leaving after 20 minutes!

A lovely sunny day just had to be spent at a superb pub beside the river. Either sit on the veranda or inside the air-conditioned restaurant. Great food with great service.

Having heard my parents praise the food here, me and my partner decided to try it. We ordered a starter to share and a main each.

Stunning restaurant, as soon as we walked in we loved the decor and it is clear a fair amount has been spent renovating this place. The staff were friendly throughout, both on welcome and taking our orders. Our starter was tasty, the salt and pepper squid. My main was very disappointing - the chicken schnitzel. The mashed potato had a very odd, gluey consistentency, the mushroom sauce was like creamy water that had saturated the chicken and the vegetables were underdone to the point of being raw. Such a shame - hopefully an off night as a family member had previously eaten here and recommended the schnitzel and enjoyed their meal. My wife's however did enjoy her burger. When we ordered a pudding, we waiting for 30 mins before asking whether it was coming and if not, please cancel it and we'll have the bill. To be fair the waiter was very apologetic, he deducted the schnitzel from the bill and applied his staff discount. We left a generous tip as this was beyond what we expected. I would give the place a second chance if we were invited along by someone but we wouldn't choose to return ourselves. A real shame!

We have visited the Boathouse many times for summer evening drinks by the river as the setting is really lovely, however, tonight was the first time we went for food. I have quite a few food allergies and was extremely disappointed to find that after looking through the allergy folder, I could only have 1 item from the menu which was a Goat's cheese salad (just as well I really like Goat's cheese then)I couldn't even have the chips alongside it, as I was told they are fried in the same oil as the items made with wheat etc. The salad arrived and it looked really lovely, made with an array of fresh ingredients like griddled yellow and green courgettes, different lettuce leafs, hazelnuts and edamme beans, but what was somewhat lacking was the actual Goat's cheese and the promised sweet potato wedges, they were more like tiny slivers and I think I had 4 of them along with one very thin piece of cheese, now if you're charging over £10 for a salad, then I'd expect the star of the show to be somewhat more prominent. I spoke to the lovely and very helpful server and she kindly went and asked the kitchen to give me another piece, which they did. My husband and father in law both enjoyed their meals of mussels and scampi but the chips they said were a little boring in that they were just oven chips which were quite dry.

I was really disappointed with this place! Firstly they have very little choice for anyone that is gluten free, then they seemed to have run out of so many things making it even harder to find something to eat. I wasn’t impressed with the lack of knowledge by the staff either! Don’t think I will bother visiting a place that really can’t be bothered to offer a wider selection of food for people with special dietary needs.....shame on you in these days

We visited today for first time.was very dissapointed with the service,long que to be served at bar to order drinks and food while 2 waitresses were standing around laughing joking with each other while doing nothing.then when we were waiting for our starters to arrive which they did along with another waitress bringing our mains out at same time

Today we went for a drive and came across the boat house what a little gem, right on the river lovely views, plenty of space to sit outside, bar staff very polite and friendly we only ordered a couple of starters and drinks had a really nice choice on the menu we would definitely return

Visited The Boathouse sat outside with daughter. Nice waitress came over asked if we'd like drinks taking a drink order should you be back to take the food order. Before ordering food told there was no fish dinners due to fish frier not working. Over 35 minutes to get ham & eggs & salad. In the meantime watched two mangers just sitting calmly watching the staff struggle for the whole time then both walked up to where food came out kitchen didn't offer to help as staff where run off there feet.

This used to be a horrible old pub. Has recently been completely rebuilt to a fabulous waterside pub restaurant.

This was my first visit here for a meal since it was refurbished changed name a year ago. The refurbishment has been excellent and has maintained the character of the old pub premises with a modern dining area which opens onto a spacious open air area next to the river. The food was good but the service was somewhat slow.

Lovely location friendly staff food -very fresh fish better than average! well worth a visit if you are in the area. Excellent service

We just visited The Boathouse after a funeral. We ordered drinks and a pizza but over thirty minutes later were watching those around us (who had arrived later and ordered after we did) receive their food. After inquiring about the status of our order, a waitress left and didn't return for about ten minutes, after which point we had to abandon all hope of lunch because of having to leave to be somewhere else. When we went into the main restaurant for a refund, we ran into the waitress who was about to deliver a free plate of chips and tell us they had missed the order ticket. We received a half-hearted apology and a refund for the pizza but overall were left hungry and disappointed at the lack of dynamic service. I could understand if the restaurant was busy (it wasn't) and if the staff made more of an effort at an apology but unfortunately it's left us with one less pub to visit in our local area.

The restaurant itself is lovely. Great view, feels spacious and it is nicely decorated.

Lovely location on the river. Great service and food. Dog friendly and very aesthetic. A welcome addition to our locality.

Haven’t been to this pub restaurant for quite some time in fact at least 5 years .

Visited for a family birthday. We were the first to order so when other tables started getting their food we knew something was wrong. We queried where ours was and 3 out of the 4 dishes were brought over. These had been sat under the heat lamps for a good 5 minutes and were barely warm! We sat there waiting for the 4th meal with no explanation. Eventually the food came and was told that there had been an issue with the oven. Why wouldn’t you tell the customer that earlier on to avoid issues? The manager offered the meal for free which was a nice touch. We asked for the bill and then sat there for over 10 minutes waiting to pay. Got fed up so went to the bar. Guy behind the bar more interested in fiddling with his hair than helping. Lots of other staff walked past but no one offered to help.

Lovely clean place with a really nice outside area. Menu is a good size, would highly recommend the chicken schnitzel! Thank you for a nice evening!

Had lunch today with weather good but windy. Menu ok but selection of sandwiches very odd and quirky. Obviously trying to be different. Food prompt and good. Drinks good. Very prompt and friendly service. Beautiful premises and toilets pristine. Overall very nice and will return. Dog friendly as well which suits us.

After having a walk by the river we decided to have something to eat the Boathouse. As we hadn’t booked we had the choice of the snug area or the outside. We decided outside.

Waterside country pubs are abundant at this end of England. We are spoilt here thanks to the excellent water ways.

Really nice Pub next to a loverly winding river and weir . Really nicely furnished pub inside and out . The views of the river are fantastic. I guess on a hot summer day you will need to book but we were lucky and there were a few tables outside and as the sun was breaking through we ordered our food to eat outside and take in the stunning scenery. Beer and wine prices are not over priced and the food prices are good for a pub that in situated were it is . The service is prompt and the food we ate was good too ! Will defiantly be going back !

Had looked at here some time ago and eager to visit so stopped for lunch. Definitely wouldn’t return as so disappointing.

Well just visited the boat hse for a family dinner, beautiful surroundings lovely clean fresh restaurant, ordered squid, cheesy garlic bread for starters which came up very prompt and hot, mains was rump steak tomato , mushrooms chips , and gammon and chips with tomato chutney and I must say it was cooked perfectly , and the waiting service was also very prompt and quick with all the orders, a hidden jewel by the river in Yalding u must try place.

I live locally but this was my first time to eat here. I met with old friends and had a wonderful evening. The staff were attentive and efficient, the food came very quickly and was very good and the location is stunning - even on a chilly, gloomy evening!

Having attended this venue a couple of times in the past couple of weeks I thought it only fair to write them a review for the wonderful place this has become.

We stopped here on May day bank holiday on our way home , they were packed out but made up a table for us 6 . Served very quickly with drinks ordered food that came out very fast also , Food was excellant even the fussy young grandaughters ate all there food "Very Rare".

We stumbled across this pub on our afternoon drive. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good and service was fast.
