Me and my husband stayed here for a night while we were travelling around The Peak District on our motorbike. We absolutely loved it! The staff were friendly and very helpful, couldn't do enough for us. The evening meal was extremely good, highly recommend eating here even if you don't stay. The atmosphere was relaxing and the pub busy. Great playlist of music playing quietly outside in the lovely garden. The room was a little dated but functional, the shower was great, powerful and plenty of hot water. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided with some biccies too :) We had a lovely nights sleep and we were very comfortable. Breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and excellent quality food. The lady who served us was an absolute treasure! There is a great walk out the back of the pub which took us around 6.5 miles along the river and through the gorgeous countryside. If you fancy it, download the Komoot app and it will lead you the way! We totally recommend this place and will stay again next time we are passing through! Thanks for a lovely evening, Laura and Jim

Patisserie Lewes is a lovely, small independant business. Great coffee, bread and cakes - and superb croissants.

Lovely bookstore in Lewes and a lot bigger inside than you would expect. Definitely worth a look if you are on the hunt for a good read

Stunning location with amazing views. Strong selection of food offered by the different food vans they have on site which makes for a new experience every time. A wide range of beers brewed on site (you can see the brewery in action) and wines etc on offer too. Could not recommend more

Expensive for what it was, the food was slow to arrive even though it was not overly busy and the food did not require cooking from scratch. Quiche was microwaved so pastry became ruined and soggy, weirdly topped with extra molten cheese. Very poor response when it was returned to the kitchen. A replacement was produced which was exactly the same. I just asked for a salad instead. This was delivered without a word from the waitress. Rude. Will not be returning.

Booked a table ages ago to celebrate a friends ‘special’ birthday which meant that our lunch was very much looked forward to, mainly because I have been a few times before & the food is always excellent. If this review was based on the food alone then it would have been five stars. Sadly and very disappointingly our much anticipated celebration was spoiled from the outset by the less than welcoming greeting, from not one, but two members of staff. One of them rather worryingly appeared to be front of house. Not even a smile…… Neither the FOH guy nor our waiter was remotely interested in explaining the menu, recommending/describing any of the dishes (despite my attempt to engage him in a conversation along these lines). Our orders were taken with zero interaction from our waiter beyond him standing at the end of our table with a solemn look on his face. I’m not going to go into what we actually ate, mainly because my memory of the day does not go past these two miseries…….maybe they had both just got out of bed the wrong side….not the job to be in if one wears one’s mood!!
