Visited the bar in Chichester at the Ghost at the Feast. The Aperol and Limoncello spritz both tasted of sea water and where totally undrinkable. When brought to the attention of the staff they replied that's the recipe and refused to remake the drinks.

We visited Zorba Lewes recently and had such a great evening that we’re already planning our next visit! The atmosphere was really warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely attentive without being over the top. We ordered a mix of dishes to share – the lamb shish, moussaka, and the Caprese salad were all full of flavour and beautifully cooked. It felt like proper home-style food, just with a little extra finesse. One thing we really appreciated was how relaxed the whole experience felt. You could tell the team cared, but also let you enjoy the evening at your own pace. It’s not always easy to find that balance!

Had a great 2 night stay here. Atmosphere in the bar in the evening was great made to feel very welcome. Jean and her husband are great hosts as well as all the staff being friendly and welcoming. Yes it gets noisy with functions on but don’t be put ff with this as it makes for the great atmosphere of the pub.

Patisserie Lewes is a lovely, small independant business. Great coffee, bread and cakes - and superb croissants.

Lovely bookstore in Lewes and a lot bigger inside than you would expect. Definitely worth a look if you are on the hunt for a good read

It's a taproom in a working brewery. You expect a certain compromise on stuff like space, layout, service etc but all of this seems done particularly badly here. The bar is too small for the number of tables leading to long queues and the 2 toilets are next to the bar so the queues get mixed up. It was busy the Saturday night I was there and there was 2 staff as far as I could see which meant long waits and messy tables. In a place that already feels a bit spontaneous, it just felt disorganised and tatty. The music was also both non-stop and loud. It is saved by the beer. Beak brew terrific beer and everything I had was as expected - hazy, rich and very tasty. Were I to be critical I'd mark it down for running out of the cask option before I even got there (it's your own brewery fellas? How could that happen??) and having 2 Stouts that were 10%+ rather than having 1 a bit lighter maybe? They also didn't have any glasswear and offered plastic. I hate plastic glasses at the best of times and bought a glass instead. The food truck on the day was great but they'd also run out of 2 of their 3 offerings by 7.30? I think Beak might be suffering from being too popular? It was busy. The crowd seemed younger than me on average and I'm sure loved the banging house music. They're probably used to queueing for everything too. For this slightly older bloke who is a massive craft beer fan, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I traveled to Lewes (a very pretty place by the look of it) specifically to go to Beak but, if you asked me if I'd do it again, the answer would be no. Sadly.

Came for lunch with a friend and sat in the pretty courtyard basking in a rare moment of sunshine. I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob and I can safely say it was really good. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had the croque monsieur with fries and my friend had the sweet corn fritters. Food came in good time and it all tasted really fresh and delicious. This is very much a hidden gem and I will most definitely be returning and telling friends about it! Thank you.

Booked a table ages ago to celebrate a friends ‘special’ birthday which meant that our lunch was very much looked forward to, mainly because I have been a few times before & the food is always excellent. If this review was based on the food alone then it would have been five stars. Sadly and very disappointingly our much anticipated celebration was spoiled from the outset by the less than welcoming greeting, from not one, but two members of staff. One of them rather worryingly appeared to be front of house. Not even a smile…… Neither the FOH guy nor our waiter was remotely interested in explaining the menu, recommending/describing any of the dishes (despite my attempt to engage him in a conversation along these lines). Our orders were taken with zero interaction from our waiter beyond him standing at the end of our table with a solemn look on his face. I’m not going to go into what we actually ate, mainly because my memory of the day does not go past these two miseries…….maybe they had both just got out of bed the wrong side….not the job to be in if one wears one’s mood!!
