Had to edit my review as felt my amazing review from 2 years ago was not justified, nothing like what it used to be waste of money for someone who used to love the food and visit regularly, the one in tunbridge wells is the same as before however this one is not, to many tastes in the dish, English, Indian, Turkish.... not good meat done tastefully.... big change, atmosphere has also died! It is a shame but the money we paid was not justified for the meal In our opinion😩

It's a decent Turkish restaurant with a cut price lunch menu during the week. I went with friends to celebrate a special birthday. Unfortunately our main waiter didn't appear very experienced and when taking payment for our food, ended up charging me twice! I did phone them two days later to explain and ask for a refund. Now, over 3 weeks have elapsed and I still haven't received it. So, beware when paying.

This place never fails to deliver. Everyone is so friendly and kind and the food is absolutely delicious!

Wow what a fabulous place , having never been to a Turkish restaurant before I was open minded and now blown away , the staff were very friendly and helpful and food was fantastic as were the cocktails ! The atmosphere was electric on this busy night and made even more lively by three different birthdays to who were sung to in the traditional Greek way with clapping.

It was my first time eating at Zorba and omg was it so worth the money delicious food, great vibes, good looking staff was served by Mo he was really caring and considerate 10/10 experience would go again I’ll bring my family next time!!

A bit pricey, and the food feels like it’s been toned down for a more broadly British palate. Also, it felt like they were trying to rush us through dinner by clearing away plates or glasses while we were still eating, and bringing the bill the second we finished dessert.

We had seen the good reviews and decided to try Zorba for a family meal out. We agree that the food is good and portions are generous. Both the meat eaters and vegetarians in our party had plenty of choice, as usual in Turkish cuisine, which was great. It has a lively atmosphere, which we enjoyed. However, the service left a lot to be desired, and from one member of staff was poor. She appeared to be running our section and yet was not helpful when ordering, was sullen and actually scowled at us a number of times, even when my husband said 'thank you' to her and other staff as we were leaving. We paid the service charge as the other staff were ok, but only 3 stars from us because of this.

Had a wonderful evening for my daughter’s 13th birthday. The food was delicious and the service was absolutely wonderful. Felt special and yet relaxed in there. They are so good at what they do. Will definitely go back. They recently introduced a pizza option which was helpful for some of the group.

A new restaurant opened in Lewes It's big and very modern The Location is very good. Staff are very kind and very friendly. The owner is very polite, friendly and helpful too The service is very good and fast. The FOOD / Kebabs are delicious Everyone should go and try this nice new restaurant.

Table of 7 booked, food was really lovely, plentiful, however, waiter cleared plates from the table when 2 were still eating, he should have waited, we asked for coffee, wrong one came then correct coffees took ages. We will return as food was tasty.

Met up with a couple of friends visiting Lewes for dinner. Arrived early for our booked table which was no problem. Greeted by the friendly manager & staff who were very attentive without being overbearing. Our food arrived quickly with large sized portions and was very tasty. One item we’d ordered didn’t arrive with the other dishes, but the server apologised and brought us additional (complementary) fries with the dish when it came. All in all a very pleasant meal with good food and pleasant service. The restaurant was busy but we didn’t feel rushed or hurried. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent food. Large menu with loads of choices. We went for mixed grill for two...absolutely delicious. Very busy but service was good, although a few of the waitresses looked like they were bored and didn't want to be there. Highly recommend for delicious Turkish food

Really lovely restaurant with absolutely fantastic quality food. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it- delicious and halal. The manager fit us in without a reservation on a Saturday night and was very accommodating.

Very trendy decor. Drinks are amazing. Only had starters which were delicious but I could smell the food other people ordered looked great.

To be honest, I am quite surprised by high ratings this place got. It might be because of atmosphere but in my case I order from Deliveroo sometimes. As someone from Turkey, the food quality has been below expectations. Taste is at best "OK" but definitely doesn't justify the price. Sometimes stale food and salad is being sent. Sometimes my option of grain will be ignored and something they have probably prepared will be sent. I once ordered a drink and got a ridiculously small bottle (something like 150ml). I would advise the owners/operators of this restaurants take a hard look on what their priorities are. Overcharging for below average quality food is not a good look. I won't be ordering again

Lovely food. Very busy and good atmosphere. Would be great if they could offer a gluten free alternative bread as quite alot of the food is bread based, you miss out on the full experience of the cuisine.

The starters we chose we superb, but the main courses did not quite hit the same heights. Service was excellent throughout.

Very popular restaurant with an extensive menu, Turkish cuisine, pizzas, etc. I chose from the two course lunchtime menu,which at £15.95 was very good value, chicken shish is recommended.

We went for dinner as a group of 8 on a Sunday evening having booked and paid a £10 per head non refundable deposit which was a little unexpected. The restaurant is lovely and the food was enjoyable if a little pricey but the service was disappointing. Staff were pleasant enough but there was a long wait between staters and mains and a second jug of water requested never arrived. This might have been acceptable had the restaurant been busy but it wasn’t and there appeared to be plenty of staff around. While we didn’t ask for the 10% service charge to be deducted but we didn’t feel inclined to add anything extra as we would have had the experience been better.

Ate here for a Birthday celebration as a table of 4. Food is nice enough, it's a bit too expensive. But the service was awful. Sitting with empty glasses and the waitress never appeared to ask if we wanted more drinks. We had to find someone to ask. And then again later on sitting with empty glasses again. Once again had to find someone to ask. Was not offered dessert. The waitress was not friendly and welcoming, merely perfunctory. Delivered starter and main course. No condiments on the table, weren't asked if we wanted condiments. Generally she was awkward and I found her uncomfortable. Whilst no one offered us any service there was no shortage of staff gaggled at the bar chit-chatting. And then to add insult to injury a 10% service charge was automatically added to the bill. I asked our waitress to remove it and told her it was because the service was poor. She did not ask in what way she had disappointed or what she could have done better. Now I suspect this is not entirely her fault; although she must have been lacking in common sense. She has not been trained properly and there were no obvious management present. As for service charge or tip, whatever you call it. It's discretionary; I have to decide whether staff performance was worthy of a tip. This is not my job. I do not want to be part of your HR team. It is YOUR job, Mr Restaurant Owner, to manage your staff and ensure that they provide good service, not mine. Why am I responsible for monitoring your staff's performance and deciding their remuneration? Why am I in the uncomfortable position of having to tell your staff that they are not good enough? I would only return if dragged kicking and screaming.

I've visited Zorba many times to celebrate special occasions, and it has never disappointed. Last weekend, we visited to celebrate my sister's birthday, and once again, the food and service were top-notch. The menu offers a wide variety of Turkish cuisine, and they've recently added Italian options for those craving pizza or pasta dishes. Two members of our party were coeliac, and the chef was helpful in advising what could be swapped out for gluten-free alternatives. It's not always easy to find restaurants that are so accommodating, but the staff at Zorba were very helpful. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be visiting again! Highly recommend for both the food and the excellent service.

Delicious food, and good size meal

The atmosphere was first class, service was friendly and sincere and the food was terrific. The pricing was very good and excellent value for money. I didn’t understand why they offered pizza menu as well as it kind of interfered with the authenticity of the place. My only quibble is that when they cleared the table they stacked the plates in front of us rather like you’d find it in a dowdie pub. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place and do ask for a booth – incredibly comfortable.

Harun was our waiter and all i can say is “ fantastic” service was top notch and nothing was too much. All staff were very attentive and the atmosphere is fabulous. This was my first time at Zorba and it most definitely won’t be my last. We were a party of 9 and every person said how lovely the food was and how generous the portion sizes were. 10/10 from me

Bob made incredible drinks and was extremely helpful to tell us what alcohol was in which drink , Patryk brought our food quickly from the kitchen and mo served us perfectly 5 stars from me and will definitely be returning . Also want to say thank you to harun who was our waiter and was extremely helpful to our two children who struggled with what to order and eggemen also helped us very much and was extremely quick to clean our table !

Had lunch here yesterday with the family, table of 10, ate the lunch menu, food was good but service seriously lacking, our waiter didnt really know his menu, and didnt really seem to care much either... No one said good bye when we left or thanks etc. Waiters smoking outside and it was coming through the door, not nice.

A confused menu. Unusual ingredients in certain dishes. Too expensive. Staff uniforms need improvement.

Classy vibes, great food and service was on point. I loved that they had a section of the menu dedicated to vegan/vegetarian dishes. Definitely worth a try if you appreciate Lebanese/turkish food!

Came here last Friday and it was extremely busy. Despite this the service was fast and reliable, drinks were delicious and so was the food. Would definitely recommend this place!

Food was OK tasting, nothing special. I got Salmonella poisoning. I was the only person to eat the minced chicken dish. Was off work for a week.

The ambience is great. The food excellent. Much Cocktail choices which I liked. I enjoyed the Lychee Martini. I would definitely return here again.

All of the starters were good except for sucuk. Handmade foods like calamari, spring rolls, falafel were good, but I didn't like anything except the ribs and chops in the mix kebab. I didn't like the meat, Adana and chicken very much. The service staff was very good.

This was my third visit to this restaurant and I always feel we are tricked into ordering more food than we actually need. This time I asked for advice from the waitress and she insisted that a selection of three 'full sized' dips priced at £20+ would not be enough for two people to share. We ignored her and ordered them anyway and didn't finish them. Who would want to pay £20+ per person for a starter when there are so many items prices at £7.95. (In my opinion even that is expensive for a starter compared with other restaurants)

A friend recommended this place and we went today...incredible good value for money..set price lunch menu 2 courses for £15 .The food was so good and well presented that we became worried that we had ordered off the wrong menu.Everything was superb .would definitely go again ...thankyou very much for a lovely day

We just had an amazing meal at Zorba in Lewes. We shared the chicken platter and it was beyond delicious. Too much for us but incredibly tasty. Would definitely recommend and we would visit again!

Me and my girlfriend stopped here for lunch and the food was amazing. Really good service as well. We will be returning for sure, only a short trip from Eastbourne but worth it.

Good Turkish food. However, no sauces were offered with the meal, and it wasn't quite top notch despite the price.

I went in with a friend who was in a wheelchair and I was made to sit by myself right next to a toilet away from view from other diners. 2 other friends came to join us and we're almost given tables near other guests but were changed after they mentioned they are with me. The manager on duty was absolutely bad to my person and my disabled British friend. Could it have been my color, disabled friend or both I wonder. The food however was great, waiters were amazing.

A fairly large restaurant that's humming gently at 6 pm on an ordinary Monday evening has to doing a lot right. Draws a mixed crowd - families doing early doors, a birthday party, couples, tourists. The food was some of the best Turkish/Med we've had in UK; the falafel definitely the best ever. We mixed hot and cold mere, got 10 dishes plus bread, and joyfully scoffed the lot (leaving a small hole for a few pieces of superb baklava). Service was efficient and warm. Kitchen is open, and the chefs seemed to appreciate our big thumbs-up as we passed their stations on leaving. Fair value in a town with too many overpriced food destinations. We'll be back...

A first class Turkish restaurant with friendly staff in the heart of Lewes with convenient parking immediately behind the restaurant.

Fantastic meal! Starters were very tasty as were the cocktails. The virgin strawberry mojito tasted just as good as the alcoholic one. Mains were lovely, however I misunderstood what the waiter was saying and order something I wasn’t too keen on, however the lamb was cooked to perfection. Only recommendation would be to have some kind of dip or butter with the complimentary bread. Staff and atmosphere - 10/10! Loved that they cooked it in front of you and I never saw food just sitting there, waiting to go out. Looking forward to returning in the next week!

Bad service, ask for the Bread waiter said you can’t have a bread because you didn’t order any salad , no point of mentioning this in front of our guests almost spent £60 , why we can’t buy your bread think about it , need more work on service by the we drove all the way from Brighton , Good luck

What a win. Great food. Great atmosphere. The 2 course meal deal is very well priced and they throw in any dessert for £3 if you take it. We're training staff on the day I went in, but the service was still great.

Very busy at lunch time on Saturday but still got a table. Nice selection to choose from and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

The atmosphere in Zorba is great, very relaxed. Our waiter last eve, 2.4.24 at 19.30hs was very polite, charming and helpful. Our starters of Banaganoush, Chicken sticks etc were yummy and the main courses equally so. My slow-roasted aubergine with tomatoes and peppers&feta was delicious and beautifully presented. My friends had the chicken skewers and loved them; so filling they had trouble finishing them. We shared 3 different desserts from an excellent range. Theye were the Manhattan Stack, Tartuffo Scuro and Banoffee Tart, all divine in different ways. Our Mermaid gin with soft drink eg lemonade, was excellent and flavoursome! The only let-down, amongst all the wonderful food and drink, was the Macchiato coffee, which didn't suit the bitter Turkish coffee. I always like to follow the customs of any particular country's cuisine, but not the coffee! Sorry! Thanks for a super meal. We will be back! First time at the restaurant and we had memorable time. The food was excellent, very flavourful and the portion sizes were huge. Overall it was very enjoyable and we will definitely coming again.

I have been here twice before. It seems each time the staff seem to be more confused taking the food orders. We placed ours twice as they got mixed up. I noticed all night the service staff were rushing about like head less chickens not sure on what to do which was really annoying. The meats were delicious the falafel was terrible it tasted like burnt bird seed.

Raw meat. Put me off all my food unfortunately. I know lamb can be served pink but unless they grind own meat in house, mince shouldn’t ever be served raw. Hoping I don’t fall sick.

Our second visit and what a different experience.Our main course arrived before we had finished our first course and this set the course of the evening.We were presented with the bill three times while still eating !!! My friend said that her food wasn’t great the waiter prodded the food on her plate and then shrugged .When we left no thanks or goodbye.A rare night out spoilt.

Third time I’ve been here and what a difference!!!! No smile or friendly greeting …the concierge just muttered come this way … Waited twenty minutes before finally asking a waiter if we could order some drinks… Still eating the mezze starter when our main was delivered and they started clearing our plates… Starters were good .. my main was a lamb shank … fatty and stringy which I told the waiter about … get my fork in it … turned it over and said he’d talk to the chef … truly disappointed… Oh did i mention they sent our bill over three times before had even offered us a coffee !!! Whilst our dinner plates hadn’t been cleared !! No it’s changed from the original restaurant with a warm welcoming smile it’s high turnover and no interest in customer satisfaction… A real shame
