A first class Turkish restaurant with friendly staff in the heart of Lewes with convenient parking immediately behind the restaurant.

Fantastic meal! Starters were very tasty as were the cocktails. The virgin strawberry mojito tasted just as good as the alcoholic one. Mains were lovely, however I misunderstood what the waiter was saying and order something I wasn’t too keen on, however the lamb was cooked to perfection. Only recommendation would be to have some kind of dip or butter with the complimentary bread. Staff and atmosphere - 10/10! Loved that they cooked it in front of you and I never saw food just sitting there, waiting to go out. Looking forward to returning in the next week!

Bad service, ask for the Bread waiter said you can’t have a bread because you didn’t order any salad , no point of mentioning this in front of our guests almost spent £60 , why we can’t buy your bread think about it , need more work on service by the we drove all the way from Brighton , Good luck

Very busy at lunch time on Saturday but still got a table. Nice selection to choose from and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

What a win. Great food. Great atmosphere. The 2 course meal deal is very well priced and they throw in any dessert for £3 if you take it. We're training staff on the day I went in, but the service was still great.

The atmosphere in Zorba is great, very relaxed. Our waiter last eve, 2.4.24 at 19.30hs was very polite, charming and helpful. Our starters of Banaganoush, Chicken sticks etc were yummy and the main courses equally so. My slow-roasted aubergine with tomatoes and peppers&feta was delicious and beautifully presented. My friends had the chicken skewers and loved them; so filling they had trouble finishing them. We shared 3 different desserts from an excellent range. Theye were the Manhattan Stack, Tartuffo Scuro and Banoffee Tart, all divine in different ways. Our Mermaid gin with soft drink eg lemonade, was excellent and flavoursome! The only let-down, amongst all the wonderful food and drink, was the Macchiato coffee, which didn't suit the bitter Turkish coffee. I always like to follow the customs of any particular country's cuisine, but not the coffee! Sorry! Thanks for a super meal. We will be back! First time at the restaurant and we had memorable time. The food was excellent, very flavourful and the portion sizes were huge. Overall it was very enjoyable and we will definitely coming again.

Atmosphere is excellent, especially if you buy into the party they create for birthdays. Service was good not great, could be more attentive to bringing more drinks and clearing the table. Overall it was excellent and will definitely return.

I have been here twice before. It seems each time the staff seem to be more confused taking the food orders. We placed ours twice as they got mixed up. I noticed all night the service staff were rushing about like head less chickens not sure on what to do which was really annoying. The meats were delicious the falafel was terrible it tasted like burnt bird seed.

Raw meat. Put me off all my food unfortunately. I know lamb can be served pink but unless they grind own meat in house, mince shouldn’t ever be served raw. Hoping I don’t fall sick.

Our second visit and what a different experience.Our main course arrived before we had finished our first course and this set the course of the evening.We were presented with the bill three times while still eating !!! My friend said that her food wasn’t great the waiter prodded the food on her plate and then shrugged .When we left no thanks or goodbye.A rare night out spoilt.

Third time I’ve been here and what a difference!!!! No smile or friendly greeting …the concierge just muttered come this way … Waited twenty minutes before finally asking a waiter if we could order some drinks… Still eating the mezze starter when our main was delivered and they started clearing our plates… Starters were good .. my main was a lamb shank … fatty and stringy which I told the waiter about … get my fork in it … turned it over and said he’d talk to the chef … truly disappointed… Oh did i mention they sent our bill over three times before had even offered us a coffee !!! Whilst our dinner plates hadn’t been cleared !! No it’s changed from the original restaurant with a warm welcoming smile it’s high turnover and no interest in customer satisfaction… A real shame

Food was OK. I wouldn't say anything special and seemed to have gone down hill since last visit a few months back. The toilets were pretty vile... could do with regular checks and they also 'forgot' to take our £80 deposit off the bill! We came on a Saturday evening so might have been because ot was busy. The place does have a good atmosphere and service from staff was good and efficient. They also sang happy bday to my bro...! We had a good time.

I have dined here a number of times and it never fails to please. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and its spotless. The menu is extensive with food for all tastes. The open kitchen with charcoal grills produce the most tasty dishes imaginable. Hot cold & alcoholic drinks available. Always a pleasure to visit.

Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - was absolutely perfect. Four of us visiting for a birthday dinner (more of that below). Immediately felt that good feeling you get from beautiful decor, lighting, and ambience. Music played at reasonable volume (too many places get this horribly wrong). Was a Tuesday night end of February, but still the place was humming with a full restaurant. And you can see why: starters (hot meze) all delicious and reasonably priced. Actually, the menu looked so good we may have over-ordered because all of us were pretty satiated after the starters. Stand-outs are the calamari, Turkish sausage, and humus. Oh, and drinks...they price drinks well. £5.50 a pint of Efes on draught. Can't argue with that. Also 2 x cocktails for £13.95. My wife is the cocktail drinker and said they were amazing. Mains. Wow. Wife and daughter #1 were delighted with their selection of hot mezes and lamb dish. But what I want to highlight is the shared chicken platter me and daughter #2 enjoyed. Wow again. A plate of freshly BBQ'd DELICIOUS chicken with salad, bulgur rice. sauces. Couldn't finish it (I tried...) but took home a doggy bag. So good. Then the lovely cherry on top was the birthday celebration. I had told the restaurant it was my daughter's birthday. They came out at the end of the meal clapping, singing and bringing us a delicious plate of baclava. Such a lovely touch and much appreciated by the birthday girl. Total bill including service £159 and that's for 4 adult sized appetites including drinks that also included cocktails. Great value. Will be back and back again.

We had great food, we tried the combo meze; tasty cocktails (lychee martini is a must!); and had lovely service from our waiter Harun!

I phoned at 5pm to book a table for the evening for a 21st birthday, and was told I could book for 7.45. The man on the phone took all my details. We got to the restaurant at 7.40 to be told quite rudely that they had no booking in my name. I tried to talk to the man on reception and he continued to talk to other people over me rather than sort out the error they had made. He then gestured with his hand for us to follow him to a table in the corner while mumbling that they are fully booked. He then left us to it. We then waited over 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We ordered food and were still sat waiting for over an hour. Not one member of staff came over to apologise for the wait. After another fifteen minutes of waiting, we just got up and left. The service and the attitude of staff was an absolute disgrace.

Busy, bustling, amazing meat feast at this fab restaurant. Starters on the "full platter" were well balanced, fresh and tasty. The mains were... A lot. Probably could have split a full platter three ways if we weren't being greedy. Lamb chops and beef ribs - divine. Sheekh kebab - strong. Chicken wings and pieces - delicious, though I found the breast meat a little more bland and uninspired. Delicious lychee martini!

You will be rushed out the building. Wasn't always the way but seems more common recently - at my last visit (birthday meal for 8) the manager got the booking mixed up and said we were late & could only stay for up to an hour. I had to argue and he only accepted when I produced email proof of the booking. Terrible way to start the evening and ruined the meal as did not feel welcome or relaxed.

Lovely food, pleasant setting and staff good with the kids. We asked for our food to come quickly and it did. Lamb behti Cold mixed mezee + bread Kids chicken wrap with chips (this was a huge portion, even for an adult!) All delicious, as were the drinks. Two virgin mojitos. 9/10

Great place for a meal. We had excellent red wine (. £22 a bottle) and a variety of main and sweet courses, all very good. Service effective, if a little brusk, but it was a busy Friday night. Good vegetarian options.Recommended

Staying in Lewes for a couple of days, at a hotel literally next door, we decided on our last night to dine at Zorba. I'm so glad we did. Greeted as if we were an old friend on arrival by the owner, Food, Service, Staff, Ambiance, nothing could be faulted. We will be back, sometime in the summer, if only to eat here again. Great food and service. Atmosphere excellent too. Very enjoyable, especially with people's birthday celebrations happening all around! I had a mixed grill for 2, which was plentiful for both. Would've enjoyed a little more in terms of sides, but the bulgar wheat was extremely tasty and great when paired with the meat.

Had a family meal here and the food was very good. Had the hot Mezzi starter, personnely I’d of liked the hulloumi grilled a bit longer but that’s my taste everyone else liked it. Main course I had Chicken Shish which was excellent. Others had Mixed Grill for two which they loved, lamb shish also very good. Service was good, place was busy but we didn’t wait long for our food. We have been to the restaurant a few times now, and I would say we have never been overwhelmed by the service or under the food. The staff seem to be just too formal, lacking friendliness. The food is just not good enough for the prices. Little tell tale signs that standards are not where they should be, the menus are tatty, just print some new ones. I may try again in the future but really they need to step up.

Recently visited zorba for a birthday, was a great experience food was delicious with lots of great choice and variety, our service was fantastic by our waitress Roksolana very helpful and friendly made the evening very enjoyable, will definitely be back soon

If you have a sensitive stomach I would not recommend! I went on Friday with a friend and we were both very ill for a couple of days afterwards with vomiting and a temperature. I had the chicken Beyti Sarma and my friend had the chicken shish. I have only been to Zorba twice and the first time I went I was also unwell afterwards but not as bad. We will not be going back.

Visited on Sunday evening. It's a large restaurant, and when we passed on the Saturday evening it seemed at full capacity. We opted for 3 cold and 3 hot meze. I also had a delicious elderflower and prosecco cocktail. We were served good size portions of the Turkish sausage, cheese filo pastries, calamari, tabbouleh, taramasalata and hummus, with hot bread. The food was tasty, well seasoned and nicely presented.

This is one of my favourite places to eat, food is always amazing. I'm working my way through the menu! I highly recommend the vegetable Moussaka, stuffed filo rolls and lamb casserole, but all the food is very tasty. Always greeted by friendly welcoming staff. The restaurant is clean, tidy and in order. If you haven't been here, it's a must!

Lovely evening and delicious meal with family over from Australia. Charming service from Roksolana our Ukrainian waitress in particular and the rest of the staff.

Very disappointed. We got to the restaurant on time and then we were rushed from the moment we were seated,÷ The waiter brought our main course well before we had finished our starter He pushed the plates over the table and left our meals on the side getting cold andnearly knocking our drinks over in the process. At no stage were we offered a second drink other than water or asked about the meal. A young girl brought our bill which we paid without any thanks from her. At no stage did the waiter return as he was rushing all over the place! We were out in just over 75 minutes and pleased to leave!

Very noisy, very efficient service, so efficient one felt like staff are trained to get the turnaround on the tables. My meal was fine, but my friends meal was very fatty. I also think its overpriced for what one gets. Staff deserve five stars, the rest two stars.

The chicken livers where very salty and the chicken shish was boring, very dry and plain. Food is served in the traditional English way, eat your starter then you get your main, which spoilt it for me. I'm more used to, and prefer, the traditional Turkish way of serving food, everything comes to the table when ready.

Readily accommodated a wheelchair user. Really good food, I had 3 hot meze with both types of rice that were extremely tasty and a pleasant surprise, and wine. Highly recommended. Very attentive service without being intrusive, a most enjoyable dinner.

We were on holiday in the area and we had been to a pub where everyone around us was complaining and asking for a refund. We left there and had limited options for Sunday lunch, finding ourselves close to Lewes. We’d sen Zorba and liked the look of it, so we tried it. So pleased we did, the food was amazing. Daughter and I had mixed chicken grill, husband had lamb chops. Cooked to perfection. Malbec good and all reasonably priced.
