The best restaurants in Isle of Wight South East

Love this pub. We went for a friend's pre Christmas catch up. Food lovely , service considering they were really busy with several large parties, was efficient and friendly.

We have lunch with friends every month at this pub and the food is very good. We had a Christmas lunch there and we nearly got the wrong order but no problem as it was just a blip. Apparently the chef wasn't working that day ( or had left), and one of the regular bar staff stood in. A good portion and it was proper turkey, not processed. The roast spuds were good too. Unfortunately the pig in blanket was very hard as if warmed up in a microwave. Yorkshire was soft and chewy and only a stamp size portion of stuffing. Also, it was just warm. My husband had a special burger with the rosemary salted chips as the chips have always been so good. He said they were soft, not crispy as usual. I expect the fact that the chef wasn't available, the staff did their best and they must be thanked for putting themselves out. I hope the chef returns or they employ another one that is as good as the last one because the everyday food is very good. The staff are very friendly and it is a lovely pub and we enjoy having lunch there. For the everyday food I'd give 5 stars.

They are seriously busy because the food, views and staff are amazing. Parking is limited so please car pool, if you can. Been twice and can honestly say that the staff are wonderful. The food is yum but you must save space for the dessert, you won't be disappointed 😋

Disappointing and Unacceptable Experience I visited this restaurant with three friends after a great day out on the Island, but the dining experience completely ruined the mood. From the moment we entered, we were made to sit in a corner, which felt like a deliberate attempt to isolate us. The service was absolutely terrible. The waiter’s attitude was appalling, and I couldn’t help but notice racist undertones in how we were treated. When I politely raised a concern, the waiter dismissively replied with, “Bro, it’s not like that,” which was unprofessional and disrespectful. It’s ironic and disappointing to face such terrible service in an Indian restaurant as fellow Indians. If you’re looking for a place that treats its customers with respect and offers decent service, this is not the place to go.

Great gluten free options and so tasty , we will be back on our next visit, shame winter opening times are short just 3 days a week.

Food was lovely but forgot our chips!

Delicious breakfast with fresh ingredients and a lovely view. Very friendly staff - quick and efficient service.

Prices were clearly advertised but what I got for the money was disappointing. 'Crab & chips' near £14 in a cardboard box was a table spoon of cold crabmeat (I think) on a portion of okay chips. Beer was also hideously overpriced- I mean, it's a hut, the overheads won't be Rick Stein.

Overall good, as with NT properties the food range has been reduced post-pandemic but no problem finding a good lunch.

4,50 for tuna mayo sandwich x2 plus 140 for a drink x2 should have been 11.80 and no receipt or was asked if we wanted a receipt, we were 15,80 so how come we were over charged? Ok food but watch their pricing

The only negative for me was the Elvis Presley tunes that were playing.aoart from that the food was great and the staff efficient...I didn't have to wait long for my order, definitely recommend the Rodeo fries...👍🏻

Went for banquet night, Sunday evening. Good atmosphere, good service, prompt and lovely food. Really enjoyed the night, we all did. Will be going back.

Nice decoration, friendly staff but the food was very disappointing. Steak pie too salty and a minute portion of mashed potatoes. The crumble consisted of a few biscuit crumbs and the Eton mess was cream with a minute piece of meringue and two tiny pieces of pear, two figs and one pecan nut. A reduction of 10% was taken off the bill but the deserts should never have been served! How can you botch a crumble??? Just made us feel like tourists being ripped off. Even the waitress admitted the crumble was unacceptable. The couple sitting behind us waited an hour to be served.

The Ocean Deck never disappoints. Went today with friends for a birthday. The food was amazing, would really recommend the seafood tagliatelle, it was worth every penny. The service is fantastic and the place has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back next week for our Xmas meal, 30 of us. 🙂
