The Kings Head in Isle of Wight

We went to the Kings head for a Friday night out and to have some food. We are both vegan and ordered a vegan burger and vegan Wellington, which were very tasty, but also filled us up. There was a young lady singing lots of cover songs and she was brilliant, and just made for a great evening.

A lovely atmosphere but sadly we waited an hour for a very simple order if 2 snacks. What made it worse is the Landlord could or should have offered a refund or similar but just looked embarrassed 😣

I had the pleasure of performing at The Kings Head in Yarmouth this past Friday, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. The staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, ensuring that the setup for my gig went smoothly. My sound system setup was top-notch, allowing for a crisp and clear performance. It's evident that The Kings Head values quality entertainment and goes the extra mile to provide an excellent experience for both performers and patrons alike. The audience was fantastic—engaged, appreciative, and clearly included some regulars who know how to appreciate good music and a good time. It's not often you find a venue that brings together such a wonderful community of people. Let's not forget the food and drinks—absolutely divine. Whether you're a fan of traditional pub fare or looking for something a bit more gourmet, The Kings Head has you covered. The drinks menu is extensive, offering something for everyone, from local ales to fine wines. All in all, The Kings Head in Yarmouth is more than just a pub; it's a cornerstone of the West Wight community, a haven for music lovers, and an absolute must-visit if you find yourself in the area. I can't wait to return for another gig and another unforgettable evening.

The food was awful the vegan burger was a plain burger in a bun with nothing else and bugs in the salad! Theres nothing loaded about the loaded fries just chip on a plate with salad and an over cooked steak! Over priced. Shame as it used to be a good menu

Delicious pork in cider with mustard mash, really friendly staff, not too busy at lunch time, a proper pub.

First time visiting and it was a very good experience. We ordered the burgers which were so good and the service staff were really friendly. Will be returning very soon

I’ve been seafaring for a good many years, dropping into ports and small towns across this great nation, and decided to try somewhere new called the Isle of Wight. Quite an exotic little island, I found myself in the seaside town of Yarmouth where I happened to stumble into the Kings Head. Upon walking into this fine establishment I was welcomed with what I could almost literally describe as open arms and was made to feel straight at home with the jovial and quite witty bar man. Anyway, I digress. As the day went on I decided this place looked like it could cook up a seriously good meal and I wasn’t wrong. I ordered the mushroom wellington and frankly, it was borderline a miracle of a meal. Possibly the best Wellington this side of the Brazilian football scene. I was aghast, shocked frankly at how good it was. Literally, this one meal, this one pub, just everything has almost coaxed me to pack up shop and settle down on this scenic little island. What a pub! 12/10. Top service.

My girlfriend and I had to check out of our Air BNB at 11am and our ferry wasn't until 4pm, so we went to the Kings Head to pass the time. We had some chips, which were great, and even though there was an issue with the electricity, the staff remained upbeat and happy the whole time. We stayed there for a good few hours, and when I got my girlfriend a coffee, I was given a free espresso, which was greatly appreciated too! The beer wasn't bad either! Great pub and I hope to return soon!

Kitchen was closed for maintenance so the pub was pretty empty. However the refurb looks good so looking forward to a meal on our next visit

Today's experience Tuesday 25th April,off the beaten track,nice little side street pub. Good atmosphere, customer friendly,good food & service + pub music. Nice & good to know these pubs are still about,exist. Two satisfied customers

Waiting for our ferry to go back home my partner & l were looking for somewhere to eat and came across this lovely cosy pub with a log fire 😀 Staff so friendly and could not of done more from the minute we walked in to the minute we left, we were made so so welcome 😀 The food was truly amazing so a huge thank you to you all 😀

Came in here today after coming over for some work had a hard day and the meal was fantastic nice choice of ciders. Good little meal deal. Staff were so friendly waitress was lovely polite and friendly. Had a nice log burning fire going which was nice on a coldish day. Very homely. Highly recomend a visit. For families or couples or solo.

Cannot praise this establishment enough! My little grand daughter was pretty hungry and what she got was a delicious fish and chip meal at a very reasonable price.

Stopped by for a couple of drinks after a long walk. Really lovely/cosy building with two log fires which the staff kept topped up for us! The girls behind the bar were super friendly and made us feel welcome. Would definitely return

Yet another cracking pub in Yarmouth. Wonderful service and friendly staff. The Bugle and The Kings Head have the same owners and staff can be seen in both pubs. Works well. Kings Head has a lovely layout. Check it out

We went for a roast, dinners already plated up so we couldn't change a veg requirement,only had 1 craft ale on and we asked for some condiments and we never recieved them

Friendly staff, friendly locals, good selection of beers. Good selection of typical 'pub grub' options, served large portions, didn't have room for puddings. Quirky bar layout, antique interior, great atmosphere. Well worth a visit if only for a pint.

My husband and I went on a day out on 26th August and we liked the menu of the Kings Head Pub. The landlord and staff were very pleasant with all the clients and there was also good service. We will go back there after a good experience and the double chocolate brownie in particular had excellent taste! Thank you.

Friendly and attentive staff, very nicely decorated, food is good. I found my sweet chilli chicken very hot. So sadly I could not eat it , staff aware, but no alternative offered. However it did have chilli in the title of the dish, a 4 chilli warning might have been useful. Steak and Kidney pudding was superb. Looks like the chef knows their stuff and much seems homemade which is great. Also reasonable pricing for Yarmouth.

My family and I were visiting from Australia last month. It was a busy Saturday evening and we decided to go to this pub for dinner. As I was waiting to order at the bar, I was shocked to see the male bar manager having a go at the much younger female staff member, apparently for not pouring her pint to the standard he expected- even through she poured it perfectly. When this occurred, there were about 4/5 other men at the bar waiting to be served and it was clear that he did this as he knew he had an audience- it was a power-play move. The poor woman looked so humiliated as she was publicly scolded and none of us knew were to look. It was so unprofessional, paternalistic, misogynistic and just gross behaviour. Something that you’d see in a pub in 1970, not 2022. A part from him the staff were lovely, food was great and we loved the music. The bar manager needs to get back into a time machine and return to the era where he belongs. Men should not treat women this way, regardless of rank and status. If he had a problem with her performance there are ways and means of doing this instead of humiliating the poor woman.

Great pub which serves good food for children. Staff are friendly and polite. Bit gutted we found a 30% off your bill and in one of the local magazines after we are but something to keep an eye out for next time.

We came here after another local hostelry was found to be full. Not too disappointing with a fair selection of beers, lagers and cider and a good value food offering. The food was good but not exceptional and the portions were large enough for anyone (I hope). Update 2022, food service stops at 20:30! Surprising. However, we were here earlier and it remains a good option.

Had the biggest sandwich I've ever seen. It was delicious too.

We had a quick lunch after a morning paddleboarding and walking. The prices were very reasonable. A large Gammon (2 big bits) 2 fried eggs, large chips and peas for £10 and a large portion of Fish and chips with A very generous dollop of Tartare sauce and mushy peas was £12. Great value for money. Staff were helpful and cleared plates away once we had finished. Good drinks menu and a nice interior.

Yarmouth has many hostelries. This sells local beers and does lunches. Staff are very friendly. Has WiFi will go again.

Visited the pub on 19 June 2022 - myself and my partner both had the mixed meat Sunday roast. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and it was great value for money. Great service and friendly staff. Well worth a visit ….!

Hadn't eaten at this pub for several years and went in for lunch on the spur of the moment. I had the steak & ale pie with mash and my partner had the burger with chips; both meals were very good quality and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. We'd happily eat there again.

Smart pub spacious and comfortable food looked nice. However the beer let's it down. I had the one cask beer on offer which wasn't very good at all.

Nice pub serving hearty lunches at a decent price. Service was very friendly and they kindly filled up my water bottle for my onward bike ride.

We have been in Yarmouth for a long weekend and went for a meal this evening. We had a fabulous meal, brilliant customer service, great food quality and good atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Having eaten and drank in this pub for 20 years, we visited Saturday evening for a drink with our 2 children as we have done many times. They were happy to invite us in and serve us our drinks to then immediately tell us to drink up and leave as children not allowed in! When questioned we were just told that the new management have made these rules and we need to leave! Poor attitude and short sighted.

Very nicely done. Very nice dinner thoroughly enjoyed my evening. Very dog friendly and this is our second visit in 2 weeks (we live in Southampton, not a short trip). Well worth it, staff so friendly and food is amazing (very different from the old crew hot pots). Fresh and prepared on site. Really can't say how much we still enjoy coming here, our reasons have changed over the years as has the pub as have we. Well done!

Second time I’ve eaten here within a month and they didn’t disappoint. Great service and the food was amazing. I can strongly recommend the Pork Belly and the pizzas. Looking forward to eating here again when next in Yarmouth

Interesting and somewhat entertaining interior decor! I really enjoyed the Wight Knight ale, the chips were very well-cooked and so were the leek sausages. The service I received from Bruce was exceptional!

Amazing food and service. Very homely inside.. Will certainly be back. Try the specials. You won't be disappointed. I had the cod loin with Mediterranean veg and gnocchi

Friday and Saturdays nights are absolutely banging! DJ and bands performing and such a fun atmosphere! New landlord is a beaut as well and super friendly!

Dispensed lager when we asked for Ciders, the loos were clean.
