This place is famous for its views across the Solent, but only in the summer. In the winter the windows are always steamed up giving you near to no visibility outside. We didn’t eat but the menu looks good and average prices for the area. Drinks were more expensive than the Seaview Hotel just around the corner. +£1 per drink on gin & tonic. It was November on a Friday evening and all tables were reserved. We did sit at one of their best tables for our drink ‘Captain Ted’s Table’ and it was wobbly as hell. Felt like it was going to give way at any time. Come on this is an easy fix.

We came to visit the isle of white over the bank holiday week as the weather was so lovely and searched the cafes we wanted to visit prior to our trip. Lilly’s did not disappoint on the cake front!! They had a good variety even on a super busy day and they were delicious. The wait time was a little while but due to the amount of customers they had we didn’t mind and took our takeaway to have by the seafront (cake with a view) great customer service throughout and nice music.

Service was a little slow and we had to chase a few things but I think the young waiter was new so he’s forgiven. We sat outside for the sunset which was spectacular but then once it got a bit chilly we came inside. Food was very good, well cooked and good choices. Would recommend

Busy Bees Olive Tree is a must go to if on the Isle of Wight Great breakfasts, excellent quality Sausages etc and great toast, unlike many other eateries. Gorgeous Roast dinners, wonderful cake selection and excellent afternoon tea. Christmas time is an excellent time to visit, it's Christmas World time. We keep going back, excellent quality coffees too. 5 Star ☆☆☆☆☆

From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on. The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening

We have been visiting Puckpool Tea Gardens also known as The Old Barracks for many years. The current owners have put a lot of effort into appealing to the locals as well as tourists and they allow well behaved dogs into the café which for dog owners is a massive plus. We have never had a bad experience in all the years we have been customers and it is the owners and staff that make a real difference. They remember their regulars and make time to catch up if they are not busy. My mum used to like going in with my dad for a cuppa but sadly passed away recently. The lady owner asked after my mum as she hadn't seen her on our last few visits and was sad to hear our news. She asked if it was ok to speak to my dad and give our condolences which she did. On our walk back to the car my dad remarked how nice it was for her to notice and take the time to talk to him. It only took a few minutes out of her time but it made a huge difference to my dad.

Hoping for a light lunch and a pint, not a Sunday roast, went in at about 1215 today. We seemed to be invisible to the two men behind the bar for about ten minutes. Eventually asking if they did sandwiches the (I thought) senior of the two said he would find out. After some time he returned to say they were fully booked. I commented on the many empty tables in the garden, and was told "We're not taking walk-ins". Fair enough, until passing the place an hour later, to see many empty outside tables and people quaffing "casual" drinks. I remember when 40 years ago this was a proper pub called The Battery. Even in those days my late father was concerned about the place becoming overrun by "The Rodneys", but even they weren't there. Dreadful non-experience. Won't be back in a hurry

Without a doubt my fave spot to drop in. For the taster board alone. We gave frequented the Wishing well many time. Always buy a few bottles , or in the case of my wife- shirts) to take home. Cocktails are great. Staff are friendly. Xavier? The central cog has hit on a genius concept Quality Unique look bottles. Professional. Wish I lived near but then I would have a bed there!

Expensive takeaway of average quality. Food & Hygiene Rating 2!! Only saw this when I went to collect the food, if I knew that I would have avoided. Avoid the onion bhaji it was like eating fried hay. The chicken chat puri was a tika version with a very sad looking and unappetising salad. The best dish was the Lamb jalfresi which tasted very nice. The Nans were of a good size and cooked well. Having lived in India and Nepal I’m used to making my own curries, but I was tired and thought I’d treat myself. Prices were steep for an Indian takeaway compared to London but I thought judging by the area of Seaview the food quality would also reflect the prices, not so. Glad that I didn’t eat inside, there is no atmosphere at all whatsoever and no one in sight, very strange.
