The best restaurants in Nettlestone and Seaview Isle of Wight South East

Sunday roast is very good and the service excellent

We visited lily’s on our day trip to the IoW after seeing this place on instagram we had decided that it was a must but being a bank holiday we wernt sure if they were going to be open. To our excitement they were😁 we had ordered 2 drinks and 2 slices of their carrot cake. The cafe has a very welcoming vide about it with all they have to offer (cake wise) on show as you approach the counter. The staff were delightfully friendly and our order was ready after a very short wait (they were very busy😁)

great relief to find this place as the breakfast at the B&B was poor. the breakfast was good value of tasty. we went a few times

We were lucky enough to be given a cocktail experience, what an amazing gift. We had our experience with Emily. She was great. The drinks were ace including our own made ones. We would highly recommend it and we be going back again and again. Sarah and Alan

What a shame this restaurant is going down hill . The four of us visited, not having dined in our previous local for a few years and how disappointed we were. After asking about a previous member of staff we soon got the vibe of the current work force. We will take our 10% tip and offer no customer experience or service whatsoever. When we asked for salt after seeking some ourselves we was given the same empty one back with the girls behind the bar laughing. We had paid in advance so I suggest you don’t pay when you order drinks and food in advance. Lessons learnt I know. to the two brothers who I believe still own the establishment the quality of products and service are appalling. I see from the trip advisor reviews you fail to comment so enough said. How on earth this place has won awards is beyond me, unless it’s for the views. Mr & Mrs Rivlin Mr N W Sprengel Ms L Smedley Starters we had two crab ramekins, served in small bowls that had no crab, was microwaved to death and not even placed under a grill to slightly crisp the top. I’m not sure where the crab was but it wasn’t in the ramekins, these were spiced heavily with Tabasco and something that tasted fowl. Being near the sea you would have thought a couple of fish n chips wouldn’t be too bad , but the cod father in Ryde is ten times better. Batter was soggy , peas looked like they had been scrapped from the bottom of the pan. We left the risotto and pasta as it tasted bland, and we couldn’t be provided salt or pepper to season ourselves. The waitress (used to work in the yacht club) obviously saw our dismay, so did the young girl who served the food , so we didn’t get asked if everything was ok, either during or at the end of the meal. Luckily a bowl of chips from the hotel up the road was ten times better , at ten times less the price , with better service.

We came in with family one day as was out for a nice walk and decided to pop in in a brisk cold day to grab some hot drinks. We went to sit inside (four of us) as there was a table there but was told that we had to sit outside as only having drinks!! (Even though, as it turned out, the whole stay there , the table we wanted was not used by anyone else!) Ordered drinks and my wife's coffee came in a plastic cup/mug. That's when they eventually arrived as took quite a while. The waiting staff clearly need more training or just need to feel wanted by their empoloyer as they really dont seem happy to be there working!? Or maybe the problem is that because it's Such a nice location, with great views, the staff and owners aren't really bothered about customer services as they will always get people coming in anyway. Maybe change the attitude and you will get more RETURNING customers rather than one offs. I live locally in Nettlestone and for sure would be back time and time again if things were different. Such a shame

Stopped for a quick sandwich and coffee, smallest sandwich I I’ve had in a long while, served on thin sliced bread. Cost for 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees was £24.20, extortionate in my opinion

We had the all day breakfast and it was OK but pricey compared to other places on the island who, in fairness, also serve up better fare. The service was also OK but not particularly efficient but the staff were more attentive than on our last visit a while back which was good to see. However it's a cafe in a garden centre and it is what it is e.g. a good place to grab a bite and a drink if needed whilst shopping for your gardening essentials so, from this viewpoint, it's fine we just wish it was a bit more reasonably priced for what is offered.

From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on. The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening

Breakfast baps are lovely. Good price and quality Some staff aren't very helpful though? Let the cafe down but the baps are worth it!

Fantastic Hotel. Great location for exploring the Island. Staff so friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding for both breakfast and dinner. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful location, excellent food (I had moules frites) and very attentive staff. My family have various dietary requirements and intolerances and they were looked after superbly.

Expensive takeaway of average quality. Food & Hygiene Rating 2!! Only saw this when I went to collect the food, if I knew that I would have avoided. Avoid the onion bhaji it was like eating fried hay. The chicken chat puri was a tika version with a very sad looking and unappetising salad.The best dish was the Lamb jalfresi which tasted very nice. The Nans were of a good size and cooked well. Having lived in India and Nepal I’m used to making my own curries, but I was tired and thought I’d treat myself. Prices were steep for an Indian takeaway compared to London but I thought judging by the area of Seaview the food quality would also reflect the prices, not so. Glad that I didn’t eat inside, there is no atmosphere at all whatsoever and no one in sight, very strange.

So the food. Well it's McDonald's food.that is what it is . As standard. The service is shocking. Your order will never be correct. You must check it before u leave . The amount of times, food has been wrong or not put in the bag at all. They don't ever seem to get it right. The atmosphere up there is much better than other McDonald's, mainly because teenangels don't usually venture that far away from a console.

Popped in for a mug of tea after a dog walk, had two teas ,well if that’s what you call it. So weak ,didn’t have a tea bag in it.£4 for two mugs of hot coloured water . Chucked mind away . Litter all over the grass ,wasn’t busy .
