The best restaurants in Nettlestone and Seaview Isle of Wight South East

Ever watched TV in the bath?!! This isn't the reason to give the Seaview Hotel top rating ... but it may have caught your eye! I came here to a wedding 10 years ago but won't leave it so long this time. Such a good place to stay, to eat, to drink, to enjoy!! Highly recommended!

Not sure why this is getting such high reviews. Speaking for us 2 vegetarians firstly limited choice. But then food didn't seem to match descriptions. I had an onion squash mozzarella stack. If any mozzarella in there no sign of it. Indeed the whole stack seemed more cooked for people with no teeth. Just pap. Sauce improved it. Meant to be with hassleblad potatoes, but not like any I've know. Just a couple new potatoes baked dry in oven and sliced with an egg slice. Our other dish was meant to be a mushroom stroganoff with tagliatelle. I know a contradiction in terms. Rubbish tomato sauce over tinned mushrooms with the pasta. Sticky toffee pudding similarly badly done. Hey ho. Back to the hotel.

We visited lily’s on our day trip to the IoW after seeing this place on instagram we had decided that it was a must but being a bank holiday we wernt sure if they were going to be open. To our excitement they were😁 we had ordered 2 drinks and 2 slices of their carrot cake. The cafe has a very welcoming vide about it with all they have to offer (cake wise) on show as you approach the counter. The staff were delightfully friendly and our order was ready after a very short wait (they were very busy😁)

great relief to find this place as the breakfast at the B&B was poor. the breakfast was good value of tasty. we went a few times

We visited on a quiet evening in January so the restaurant was very quiet. Four of us had reserved a table using a local discount voucher. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive staff. Food (fish and chips) was very good. Large portion, hot and well presented with a mint mushy pea purée and small salad. We would certainly recommend eating here and would go back. We spotted an outside terrace which looked like a great option for evening drinks in the warmer months.

We came in with family one day as was out for a nice walk and decided to pop in in a brisk cold day to grab some hot drinks. We went to sit inside (four of us) as there was a table there but was told that we had to sit outside as only having drinks!! (Even though, as it turned out, the whole stay there , the table we wanted was not used by anyone else!) Ordered drinks and my wife's coffee came in a plastic cup/mug. That's when they eventually arrived as took quite a while. The waiting staff clearly need more training or just need to feel wanted by their empoloyer as they really dont seem happy to be there working!? Or maybe the problem is that because it's Such a nice location, with great views, the staff and owners aren't really bothered about customer services as they will always get people coming in anyway. Maybe change the attitude and you will get more RETURNING customers rather than one offs. I live locally in Nettlestone and for sure would be back time and time again if things were different. Such a shame

We had the all day breakfast and it was OK but pricey compared to other places on the island who, in fairness, also serve up better fare. The service was also OK but not particularly efficient but the staff were more attentive than on our last visit a while back which was good to see. However it's a cafe in a garden centre and it is what it is e.g. a good place to grab a bite and a drink if needed whilst shopping for your gardening essentials so, from this viewpoint, it's fine we just wish it was a bit more reasonably priced for what is offered.

Stopped for a quick sandwich and coffee, smallest sandwich I I’ve had in a long while, served on thin sliced bread. Cost for 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees was £24.20, extortionate in my opinion

From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on. The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening

Breakfast baps are lovely. Good price and quality Some staff aren't very helpful though? Let the cafe down but the baps are worth it!

Well I will never go here again. Was not made to feel welcome. You people forget Islanders are your Bread and Butter. We visited Friday 27th December 2024. Never again especially after hearing your barmaid do nothing but complain. Also I did not appreciate the way she said that table is reserved did you not see the sign how rude me thinks should be sent on a customer service training course in 2025??? When I go somewhere I expect to be treated as a valued customer. If I had known that was the way I was going to be greeted I would have walked out. I don't think it's a good idea to complain about the amount of people bookings you have. The only seat we were offered was a joke it was like a tall mushroom toadstool no back to it. Try investing in some more backed chairs!!!!!! Especially with the prices you charge.

Without a doubt my fave spot to drop in. For the taster board alone. We gave frequented the Wishing well many time. Always buy a few bottles , or in the case of my wife- shirts) to take home. Cocktails are great. Staff are friendly. Xavier? The central cog has hit on a genius concept Quality Unique look bottles. Professional. Wish I lived near but then I would have a bed there!

Expensive takeaway of average quality. Food & Hygiene Rating 2!! Only saw this when I went to collect the food, if I knew that I would have avoided. Avoid the onion bhaji it was like eating fried hay. The chicken chat puri was a tika version with a very sad looking and unappetising salad.The best dish was the Lamb jalfresi which tasted very nice. The Nans were of a good size and cooked well. Having lived in India and Nepal I’m used to making my own curries, but I was tired and thought I’d treat myself. Prices were steep for an Indian takeaway compared to London but I thought judging by the area of Seaview the food quality would also reflect the prices, not so. Glad that I didn’t eat inside, there is no atmosphere at all whatsoever and no one in sight, very strange.

It is what it is. Reliable consistent food as you would expect it.

Popped in for a mug of tea after a dog walk, had two teas ,well if that’s what you call it. So weak ,didn’t have a tea bag in it.£4 for two mugs of hot coloured water . Chucked mind away . Litter all over the grass ,wasn’t busy .
