Average at best. £12.50 for 4 prawns on skewers as a sharing plate. The Moroccan chicken skewers with Cous Cous was below par and although presented relatively well it did not lend itself to the so called exciting dishes as advertised! The menu choices are not good and quite frankly sparse. The choice of desserts was disheartening, although reasonably priced. The drinks are expensive £3.50 for a half of Coke and £10 for a glass of wine is quite honestly too much. The Good friendly service from the front of house staff can’t be faulted. Average food at an above average price. Will definitely NOT be going back.

My husband booked a surprise lunch for me for a Mother's Day treat. We visited 29.3.25 with our daughter. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were looked after by a warm friendly welcoming team. I didn't get the name of our waitress but she was a delight and so attentive. We've been to both Smoking Lobsters before and the food was fantastic. Our lunch yesterday was exceptional; the flavours were complete melt in your mouth close your eyes joy! From the Japanese milk bread to the gurnard with red Thai sauce to the robata steak and pecan tart, everything I ate was sublime. The high level of skill of the chef and his team was evident in every dish. Martini cocktail 👌 We will be returning!

Poor experience I'm afraid. Before I start, I'm a huge animal lover; I own 2 dogs, cats and several chickens. But dogs in a café, nope. And big scruffy dogs, left free to wander around a cafe, eating scraps off the floor and licking and sniffing at customer's legs. Absolutely nope. When I asked the lady behind the counter if it was the cafés dog (not that it makes any difference really) I got a simple "no it's a customer's" and that was that. No "oh I'll ask them to put it back on it's lead". I guess that would have been a crazy idea?! I think I could get over the dog being in the cafe as I'm probably being a bit harsh on that point but I really don't think it's appropriate, hygienic or considerate to other customers in the slightest to allow this to happen. The coffee was pretty good but to be honest I was a bit out off after Mutley licked my leg.

Stay away from this restaurant. It has a policy of harassing people on the table if the next customer has arrived early. I agreed with the chef 3 days previously...his exact words than were "as long as you're in and out by 8, will be fine" and the waiter is my witness. My goal was to leave at 7:50, 7.55 at the latest . I contacted the restaurant 25 minutes before arriving to ensure my starter would be ready to eat immediately upon arrival. This was to ensure there would be no problems nearer to 8pm. The starter was not ready when I arrived. I was the only person in the restaurant and I had to wait 15 minutes for the starter. This made a big difference to the evening. At 7:50 the next people arrive and she tells me to vacate the table while I'm eating my dessert. I ignore her and carry on eating my dessert. 2 minutes later she tells me again to vacate the table. I ignore her as I am halfway through my dessert. At 7.55pm the next people were able to sit down. Prioritising the next customer who's arrived early over the person on the table is guaranteed to lose the custom of the person on the table. The common sense thing to do was to leave me alone and let me finish my dessert and then she would have kept my custom but she'd rather lose my custom. I go to four restaurants a week and I've never seen anything like it. This restaurant's policy of harassing customers on the table because the next customer has arrived early is losing customers and I suggest you don't even think of becoming a customer there, it was extremely rude. I've been to 21 restaurants on the Isle of Wight and the red duster tops them all for rudeness, the sheer audacity of this place beggars belief. Also, the chef's wife/waitress could not answer basic questions about the menu. I was astonished at her lack of knowledge of the menu. She did not bother to understand the menu and her explanation was for this was because she was a vegetarian.

We have returned a second year at this location. Everything in general is very good. There are some things that could use attention which I believe they are striving forward day by day to improve. There are very limited kitchen items (containers for storing food, different things that may arise for cooking, pizza pan). Overall it is pretty decent . Everyone who works here are really friendly, helpful and very curtious. I'll see how things turn out next year if I return. Great location near ferris wheel and al the shops just a short walk from the boardwalk out back at 14th ave.

Absolutely shocking (pardon the pun). Went in here with my partner after a party and ordered a drink each before heading to a wall opposite the bar to drink and chat (you can see the wall in question in the attached photo). As we were chatting we went to lean against the wall and were hit with an electric shock. Accidentally I then touched the wall again and was promptly hit with another pretty painful electric shock. I looked at the wall in question and it was clearly damp and appeared that touching any part of the wall around the light switch would electrocute you. Obviously not wanting anyone else to experience this I informed a member of the bar staff and we were told that they were aware of the issue and that was it. If you’re aware of the issue why are not blocking off that wall immediately and making sure no one goes near it?! Irritated by his lack of response we then informed a bouncer who gave another nonchalant response and said they were also aware of it but nothing they could do currently. Absolute rubbish. Block the wall of so no one gets zapped!!! Disgusting attitude by the staff who clearly don’t care about the clientele. I wonder how long this wall has been in this state and I fear for the next person who brushes against it.
