I went sailing around the Solent and stopped at Cowes Marina for the night. In the morning at 07:00, I had breakfast at this place. The person who cooked it was also the one who brought it to my table. The food was great! Interestingly, the same person who cooked and served it also cleared my table. Meanwhile, the guy who seemed to be the boss, along with another young lad, was playing on their phones. 😂 however the food was really good, thanks chef.

Simple cafe offering a range of breakfasts and simple lunches. Enjoyed my breakfast which was generally well prepared. Fried eggs a little overdone for my taste but great toast, tomatoes, mushrooms etc. Coffee was standard more than artisanal. Service was polite and accommodating. Superb location close to Marina. Would happily return.

It was getting near to 2.00 p.m. but I was allowed to order a light bite, which arrived quickly. A very tasty panini - the salad was a cut above the average, and lots of subtle tastes within what, on paper, would have been very ordinary. Service was friendly and helpful, the atosphere was good. I had avoided this place before as I thought it was called "Snails" which I found offputtting. Now I am on the right track and I hope to be back. I hadn't realised the cafe started to pack up from 2.00 pm. - the owner assured me I did not need to hurry, but as he said this several times I wondered if it was a very tactful way of asking me to get a move on!

Went here for breakfast as it always looked busy, now realise that was because Costa was closed. Toast arrived 5 minutes before actual breakfast so was stone cold. Bacon was undercooked and eggs were burnt on the bottom. Ordered coke and had to ask for it after meal was finally delivered as they had forgotten. Whole cafe is dirty including sticky tables and needs a deep clean especially the window which had dead flies and cobwebs. Not. Great look when eating. Expensive for what you get.

Such an unpretentious little cafe with staff that run their heart out to please you. Compare this cafe with the Ketch Rigger in Hamble Point that does beans on toast for £8 and here you get the full Monty for 9.50!Speaks volumes.. If in Cowes and you fancy a hearty breakfast, head for this place. But, get there early because not only do you need to beat the boaty people in pink shorts or people all wearing the same clothes with logos on you also need to beat the down to earth people living in the real world to get a table.

Great little place for breakfast, right in the centre of town. Friendly service, fast delivery to table. Recommend the back and egg sandwich with added mushrooms, but there's a hundred combinations to choose from. There were also some very tempting looking brownies and blondies, however unfortunately we didn’t have space to fit them in this time. We didn't rate this place at all. The table was sticky when we sat down (although the waiter did wipe it), both of our mugs had dirty finger prints on the handles, and when my breakfast arrived, the waiter's filthy looking tea towel was practically in my poached egg. The cafe looked lovely at first glance. Then it felt like the place was a bit chaotic with chairs and tables being thrown about when being cleaned, someone shouting at the staff from the till so it was clearly a stressful day for them, it didn’t make the best atmosphere. It also would be good to have a properly barista trained staff Member which would make the experience nicer as all the coffees seemed to be the same. However, the food was nice and the coffee tasted nice. The staff were nice. Just seemed a bit chaotic.

Felt very rushed, clearing away tables and chairs around us whilst we were still eating.Sandwich came with big hand print on it where it had been pushed down, inside of Sandwich falling out.Bits and bobs being removed from table whilst still eating.Overall an uncomfortable experience.

This place is famous for its views across the Solent, but only in the summer. In the winter the windows are always steamed up giving you near to no visibility outside. We didn’t eat but the menu looks good and average prices for the area. Drinks were more expensive than the Seaview Hotel just around the corner. +£1 per drink on gin & tonic. It was November on a Friday evening and all tables were reserved. We did sit at one of their best tables for our drink ‘Captain Ted’s Table’ and it was wobbly as hell. Felt like it was going to give way at any time. Come on this is an easy fix.

Nice busy cafe, lots going on with a lot of choice to make your own baguette. Popular with the locals for lunch who fancy an upgrade from a morrisons meal deal.

We have been here many times over the years and looked forward to our visit again this year. What a disappointment. We had a cream tea which consisted of a pot of tea, 2 scones, butter, cream and jam. The jam and cream pots were half the size they used to be and the butter was barely there, adequate enough for one scone but certainly not two. The jug of milk supplied did not have enough milk for one cup of tea and we had to ask for extra. I do not drink tea and asked for my tea to be substituted with coffee, big mistake, it was undrinkable. Went we went to pay we were told 'cash only' and I was lucky to find some cash in the bottom of my bag. This should be made clear when you enter and before you order as a lot of people do not carry cash. Our experience was so different to every other visit we wondered if there were 'new owners' but overheard the owner telling other visitors that she had been there 17 years. Sadly will not be returning.

Remember coming to this pub with my family when I was ten so had to come back 40 odd years later. Disappointed the coffin by the door was gone 😂 but it was a real highlight of our trip. Our dogs were welcomed and fussed over and the food at lunch was amazing, so tasty. Really friendly staff and all the facilities were spotless. Fantastic views over the garden too. A lovely trip down memory lane
