The best restaurants in Stoughton Guildford South East

Avoid if you can. Placed an order online on Sunday evening, Google page & their website says it's open. When I go to collect the order, the doors are shut and the guys have said "the business is closed, being reopened in a month under new management". They need to turn off their online ordering if they're not taking orders!

Lovely sunny day, sat outside staff very friendly and helpful food very good selection and tasty. Priced very well nothing negative to say.

Nice homemade pizzas with generous toppings. Very good value vs most of the pizza chains. Friendly staff. Only downsides are the very plain, uninspiring seating area, and no customer toilet (although I was allowed to use the staff toilet downstairs)

It was pretty empty on a Friday night which is never a good sign. Seated which was great, room is pretty nice tbh. Then a wait ….. had to call someone to get drinks. When the waiter asked if Pinot Grigio is the white one I should have known Drinks and poppadoms done and then the wait, asked the waiter who was polite and the walked off. To long then the manager came to take order. Food was ok just a bit bland, definition of average. In essence if hungry it serves a purpose, but can do so much better.

Ordered a takeaway with high hopes based on other reviews. There was nothing really wrong with the food but it was quite bland - I like to be excited and to be frank, I wasn’t. Shredded beef with chilli, normally a favourite, lacked any chilli and didn’t have much sauce. Lacking magic.

***Big Mistake, Never Again*** Whilst looking on-line for somewhere to watch the FA Cup Semi Final...hay presto up popped Wooden Bridge Pub Guildford. Their Website specifically showed the FA Cup Semi Final as an option when booking, it also showed it online and was clearly shown on their own Fixtures List of games showing. To try and make sure we rang them directly and specially asked if they were officially showing the Semi Final with the confident reply from the manager "yes I am showing the game". We filled in the online booking form, chose the option that the booking was to watch the FA Cup Semi Final and off we went on our 40 minute drive to get there from where we live in Addlestone. Once there we purchased our first drinked and relaxed whilst looking at the menus to decide what food we would be having during our visit. You've probably worked out where this going... So, with 10 minutes to kick-off...the game that was being shown was in fact the Liverpool Premiership game! With our drinks only started I approached the staff to ask "what game are you actually showing this afternoon"...to which I was told "Liverpool v Spurs" I immediately advised the staff member that we had contacted them this afternoon to specifically ask if they where showing the FA Cup Semi Final and that we had been told they were. The staff member consulted a list and said confused that "it's not on our list of games that we are showing". Again I explained we had contacted them and been told they were showing the game, I asked how it could happen, I told them we had travelled all the way based on the advice we had been given and that our time had been wasted. The staff member just acted dumb and would answer, not even an apology or any recognition of their mistake and the impact it would have. Realising that we were clearly dealing with idiots, who neither knew or cared at all about the matter we left our drinks on our table and we left to try and find somewhere that was showing the game. The staffs utter disregard and total lethargy about the situation was and is 'shameful' and they should be nothing but ashamed and embarrassed, because the person we spoke to about our booking will be in no doubt about what they told us, no matter how they will try a d spin their BS reply. We will be making a follow up complaint to get our drinks refunded. Awful experience...Wooden Bridge - 'Wooden Go'!

Raj Indian Takeaway delivers on both taste and convenience. If you haven’t tried them yet, do yourself a favor and order ASAP. This spot has easily become my go-to for satisfying Indian food cravings.—highly recommended! 🍛

Not one to leave bad reviews as I understand everyone has a different opinion and I would much rather leave positive feedback for small business, however here we are… We brought a portion of chips today for £3.20 and whilst I understand prices are going up, that shouldn’t mean portion sizes are going down too. The bag of chips was the smallest portion I have ever brought. What weight that is I don’t know and to be perfectly honest I don’t care. I am comparing them to every other chip shop I have been to in the UK and it is disgusting how much they are charging for the smallest bag of mediocre chips. I took the portion back in to ask how much I had paid for them and complained about the quantity provided which didn’t do me any favours as the three staff members didn’t seem to care or want to rectify but to be fair to them they are probably tired of people complaining about their portion sizes! After purchasing these I have had a look at reviews and there are plenty of other customers complaining about the very same thing, so this isn’t a case of a ‘very hungry’ person writing a review. It’s a shame staff members are too busy being keyboard warriors and being blatantly rude and unprofessional when responding to reviews instead of thinking about the impact they may be having on their business.

Consistently the best fish and chips around! A regular for me, and not one time has it let me down! General go to for me is the haddock or cod… Will be going back again soon!

Been ordering from this usually excellent restaurant for several years - they have clearly changed management. Tiny salad with kebabs now. Seriously selling people short. Stale pitta and tough chicken covered in bits. Such a disappointment after so many previous great meals. Shall be going to the van by guildford hospital from now on.

Sadly this takeaway thought it was fine to substitute scampi and chips with chicken nuggets WITHOUT informing us. Only when bitten into did I phone them assuming it was an error and ( despite being pescatarian) expecting them to be shocked/ apologetic and therefore understand mistakes can happen - however they were AWARE of it : “Because we didn’t have any scampi”!! Completely unacceptable. A shame because the curry and rice was nice - but hard to trust a restaurant with such a cavalier attitude to orders.

Not recommended. The milkshake was thin and tasteless (not at all thick and creamy). Just some mixed milk with a little squirty cream on top. The smoothies amount to blended fruit (a cheap way of bulking the smoothie). A smoothie without fruit was not available. When I asked for a thick and creamy smoothie she gave me a puzzled expression (spoke little English). Very disappointing. It would seem the ownership has changed hands.

The who was taking order was fine but i think it was the manager who came in between and was so rude to the staff who was taking the order. She was so rude that i wanted to tell her to treat their staff with respect and dignity. I really felt bad for the staff. Nobody should be treating people like this.
