The quality of the food was very poor. Batter was thick and uncooked in the middle (probably because it was so thick) and the chips weren’t fresh, looked like they’d been recooked from yesterday. Very disappointing.

Lovely fish and fishcake but I wanted salt & vinegar (I have no vinegar at home). if you are concerned that some won't want it then you should offer some sachets.

‘’A SMALLER’’ Portion of Chips than usual were lukewarm as was the Haddock…. but the rest of food was hot & tasty … SHAME! But thank you!

I have bought from them few times and the last was on Wednesday night and the cod was very fresh and nicely done As for the chips they were ok but personally i prefer thin ones so its a personal choice Overall excellent

we normally highly reccomend this fish shop 100%....but today it was awful 😖 the fish was very small and thin ,like a child's portion and the chips were small thin,they were like reheated and very greasy ,disappointed never had it this bad .

Love this place,always cheerful,polite and they change their oil regularly so don't end up with upset tummy !! Only ever use this place as their standards are high.

Ordered 2 jumbo sausage and chips with 1 curry sauce, only received 1 jumbo sausage and half a portion of chips and the curry sauce.

Food was alright the chips were perfect. The sources were okay but the chicken bites. I don’t think they were fully cooked properly. The batter just wasn’t quite right and was slightly off colour to normal

Ok I have tried it and now I know why it has won awards, definitely the best fish and chips in Guildford

Check your order before you leave. I’ve just got home to find that I haven’t been given the large cod I ordered at £10.80, but 2 tiny cod. It’s quite a drive for us so we won’t be back. Just say if you can’t fulfill an order. Better still, don’t take the order!

Been going here for years and a half,food is always good but the staff always look so miserable,like they wanna be somewhere else.i get it's probably not wat you wanna do in life but at least you have a job.a smile would be nice

High quality fish and chips. I got pollock and chips deal only £8.50 as I use to leave in Devon and pollock is a fresh daily fish- so big and yummy. Amazing pea frittter too. Home made chips- delicious. I would only add to have mushy peas optional bigger portions. An amazing quality food for good and fair price. Thank you

Have this order regularly BUT today’s delivery was luke warm, don’t think it was drivers fault as delivery was quick….. otherwise just ok!

By far the best fish & chips in Guildford. Always excellent quality, fast & friendly service. Staff seem happy to be there. Prices are good especially considering the standard. Consistently offering gluten free on Mondays which tastes just as good and means those following a GF diet don’t miss out. The loyalty scheme is excellent too - highly recommend!

Fish dry with more batter than fish, chips nearly all small pieces, with a few burnt ones. Not impressed, as it was for a birthday treat. Didn't enjoy it.

Very dry fish. Left in warming cabinet too long? Chips appeared to have been made with new potatoes with their skins left on. Very disappointed and not up to usual high standards.

Disappointed-asked for two cod and one chips-got home and been given haddock which am not a fan of and chips were mostly bits and too crispy to eat! Maybe because it was 8 and close at 9?!!

Young lady was polite and served us with no problems. Had to wait as they were cooking fresh. Food was lovely as per the norm. Will come back again. Thank you.

Unusual to find your Chips not up to your usual high standard. Barely warm.

Initially it was 17:25-17:45, then it changed to 18:05-18:25. It actually arrived around 18:05. The delivery person was nice, the food was good by the way.

Absolutely delicious. Our first chippy tea since moving into area and it didn’t disappoint! Fish was massive with a light batter, chips perfect and we can’t wait to order again soon :)

First customer at 5pm everything was fresh, but I'm sorry £10.50 for the smallest portion of chips and very small fish. Was less than a hand full of chips! Have been here quite a few times over the years but won't be back again. Edit: sorry 10p off price! Not first person to make a comment or review on portion size! Maybe want to listen to feedback customers are giving you.. Your standard portion is clearly too small or not value for money hence multiple reviews stating this!! Wouldn't have had an issue paying £10.40 for a reasonable portion. Have reviewed 40+ restaurants which are honest and true reflections of my opinion. Happy to amend rating if there is a review of portion size.

Unfortunately, this is the 2nd time the chips tasted old - as if they'd just been reheated. A real disappointment.

Very nice fish and chips from here. I highly recommend the pollock which is just as nice as cod or haddock and great value at £6.95 including chips with good sized portions. The fish was freshly cooked to order with a nice light batter and nice thick-cut chips. Neither were greasy. Only slight complaints would be that there was a bit too much salt in the fish batter for my taste and £2.30 for a small pot of mushy peas seems very expensive, but overall great value and quality.

I went for lunch today and ordered cod and chips and chips for a friend separate I've been throwing up all afternoon the fish was bad I've never had this problem before not sure if it was fish or the oil that was bad but it wasn't very good

Extremely disappointing portion sizes when compared to other local Fish & Chip shops. A large portion of chips is not even sufficient enough to feed 3 young children. Other previous reviews relating to portion sizes are unfortunately true. We only live down the road and it's a great shame my family now refuses to eat here. I also asked for a meal deal as advertised in their shop on the wall to then be told it is no longer available. The awards they've won I can only assume must be for flavour only and not based on their portion sizes. Hopefully they see this as constructive feedback and may look at the portion sizes better going forward to avoid losing more customers and gain some back.

First time ever my delivery was missing items. Just eat customer service as ever useless and would leave your kids to starve...... Phoned the shop directly and they quickly delivered missing items.... Excellent service as usual

For the second time in a row, these guys fed our hungry Air Cadets during our recruit training weekend. 19 portions of Fish & Chips all supplied with ketchup, plastic cutlery and everything we needed. All really hot, ready at the ordered time and yummy. Be back in September! Thanks again from 261 (Guildford) Squadron Air Training Corps. Update 11-02-2024 - they did it again and we got bigger... 32 portions of fish & chips and 4 chicken & chips for our hungry new recruits and staff. Everything was cooked to perfection and all the plates were empty. Thanks again, see you on the next one.
