Visited the Wooden Bridge in Guildford last night and had an incredible experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and visitors. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure we were comfortable and well looked after. The food was delicious — perfectly cooked burger and only £5!! — and a decent selection of ales. The setting was nice and inviting, with a cozy yet lively vibe that made for a perfect evening. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed and enjoyable night out. We’ll definitely be back!

It's a large and spacious pub in the north of Guildford, just outside the town centre. It's a pretty big building which definitely stands out as you head towards it. There's an outdoor seating area at the front of the pub, with plenty of benches and a screen for watching events outside. It's walkable from the town centre, located in a busy street with several shops, restaurants, cafés and takeaways nearby. Inside, the pub is quite an expansive space and there's several seperate areas to sit and enjoy a quiet drink or meal plus multiple pool tables. The selection of beers was pretty good and the prices reasonable. We didn't have the food, but it looked good and plenty of people were there to eat. The pub looked clean and well-kept. Special mention to the friendly and hospitable staff. It's a good spot for a meetup or a quiet drink and great in the good weather, as we were able to sit outside. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby.

The Bar person Sam gave me a lovely welcome. There was some pleasant banter with some of the customers, Sam and myself. The food was good, and arrived in good time. Sam was my saviour as she allowed me to charge my phone, in order for me to use the satnav to find my way home… Saviour! Thank you.

Another excellent Sunday roast beef lunch here today. I love this place; it's dog, family and wheelchair friendly. Good food and a wide selection of drinks. The staff here are wonderful. It also has a beer garden, parking and WiFi.

Plenty of pool tables and Sports on TV, plenty of tables and space to spread out... Good beer, regular pub food menu... Parking free if you log registration at the bar terminal otherwise a fine 💰😭

Filthy when I parked in the car park there was rubbish everywhere bins overflowing and a carpet of cigarette buts by the entrance . We only went in because we were meeting friends . We met our friends seated by the window and joined them . Went to the bar to order and was told there was no gamon until it was unloaded so went for the all day breakfast but told the same so went back to the table only to be told there were ants all over the table so we left . On our way out my wife explained to the barman who just shrugged his shoulders . all in all a filthy disgrace .

Brilliant value for money - the food was 1st class and for the money you can’t go wrong. I can’t recommend them enough.

46 min waiting for a burger and the staff is extremely rude. Absolutely a disgrace . This is the last time they see me at that place

This place is the worst pub ever there toilets are out of order and when we were ordering they had no chips so chicken wings no onion rings no nachos no steak no nothing it’s an absolute disgrace and when I went to play darts there darts were broken and the pool table had no white ball I’m absolutely fuming

Since Keith and Wendy left, this place has gone downhill. Visited a couple of times to meet up with friends! The toilets are disgusting! They're often 'out of order' or in a filthy state! Some of the hand dryers don't work! The decor is dirty and in desperate need of renewing! I wouldn't eat there if it was free!!

Cool pub. Nice atmosphere. Thought the food was OK. Nothing special. I had the chicken, corn and chips. Beer selection was pretty standard. Service was friendly and efficient.

Big old style London pub that once sat on the side of the old A3. But today it's used by local people who are most friendly and does a nice range of food. But you have to pay for the car park but can get your money back at the bar. Or we did anyway

What can I say?! Wonderful service by the delightful young lady behind the bar, super food and drinks, and all round excellent value! In particular, the Hunter's Chicken and Apple Crumble were really memorable and the value for money of the whole experience was wonderful. Thank you to the Wooden Bridge for an excellent meal experience and we look forward to revisiting before too long!

All was well until the egotistical manager decided that he was the only server! I stood waiting for ages to get some crisps and he instructed his staff to ignore us and unpack glasses. There were two customers at the bar and very little custom in the rest of the bar meaning he could have served us in a timely manner! We decided to leave because it took so long! He then told us we were not welcome and he didn’t need our custome! So Greeneking - if you are that flush that an empty pub doesn’t need more custom! Keep this manager on staff! We were from out of town and he told us to return to where we came from! I expect a réponse!

One of our party arrived slightly before 12 and was told rudely to wait outside til the rest of us arrived, when we were eventually advised where we were sitting at no point were we advised there were several large groups booked in and that we may want to order our food sooner rather than later. On ordering our food nothing was said about waiting times for food either. We ordered separately but consecutively one after the other, despite this there was a 15 minute wait between each person receiving their food and despite requesting desert and being told it was being done on a 2 course senior meal the desert failed to arrive within an hour of the main meal being served. Nobody checked if everything was okay with our food, and plates were not cleared despite waiting for well over half an hour for the most recently finished and over an hour for the first finished. We were tucked away in a corner and while we appreciate they were short staffed the other tables received a lot more attention. Every single one of our 4 meals were not hot, merely warm so had clearly been sat on a hot plate waiting. As a group we would have been regular visitors had this visit gone well, sadly this is now not going to be the case and we are all most disappointed in the experience we had and the service received. We only saw 2 members of front of house the whole time we were there, and we weren't the only party to have to ask where food was. Significantly understaffed and this reflected on the service we received while there.

We got there and made us wait for an hour because there was 60 people having lunch I asked twice how long is it going to be to order and said another 45 minutes to an hour so we had drinks and left didn’t want to wait for that long as we booked for 1.30 and made us wait until 2.30 it was not worth waiting and paying £20 for unbelievable service

Never ate just went to watch football and there was plenty of TVs so you could sit anywhere and you could watch a TV

Love this pub as our local. We are a family of five and this is about the only affordable pub now for us eating out. Great food too! Nice having pool tables, tv and nice friendly atmosphere. Only gripe would be that I wish they had the money to refit the toilets as they are so old ;-(

The bridge offers an amazing view! It’s one of the best spots to capture all the beauty and vibrant colors of Venice.

Festive Lilly's cider is available. Pool cue isn't straight and some of them don't have tips, no chalk at all. Gents room should be cleaner. Mate said burger was decent.

Tia is an extremely warming barmaid, who is polite and competent at what she does. She really adds to the atmosphere and makes every visit enjoyable.

It was lovely, I met my brother for a drink and a catch up. I like how there are different areas of the pub such as cosy seats, pool tables, higher tables near the bar for however you’re feeling. Christmas decor was up which made it cheery. Great value for money and the katsu curry I had, had plenty of flavour and a very fair portion size! it’s a great pub to have as the local

Brutal food. Beyond disappointing. There is no excuse for not getting a Sunday roast right. Toilets are damp, clearly mouldy and leave a lot to be desired. I can only imagine the state of the kitchen. Will not return. Do not recommend.

Good friendly pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a senior citizen meal and bingo once a month, which is proving very popular. A very relaxed place, where you don't feel rushed.

Basic Sunday roast lunch. Would not recommend. Quality of meat beef and turkey was questionable… seems friendly and a comfy place for a drink and watching sports on tv.

Sunday lunch, for family 2 adults and two children. Only Sunday roast available, Turkey or beef. Asked for gravy on the side , all came smothered in a thick dark brown gravy and a jug of gravy on the side. Very poor presentation and the quality of the turkey was poor but the single slice of beef was the toughest I ever had. We didn’t even consider dessert ! Not to be recommended, AVOID.

Hand driers don't work, pool table charged at 1.5£ even though they aren't level and cloths are stained. Toilets are smelly. The pub feels a little bit cleaner than previous year, but still could do with an upgrade.

As a regular visitor here, have to say it is a very classic pub, with good food and comfort sitting . Just sometimes food takes some time to come after order

Parking is free if you register at the bar and there are spaces. No chicken wings, chicken bites or mushrooms unfortunately, and they were our main requirement. Friendly staff in pleasant surroundings.

A group of 12 of us (5 adults and 7 children) enjoyed a lovely meal and time at the Wooden Bridge pub. We pre-ordered on the day and the food was ready soon after we arrived, the service was great and the food was nice too, and all extremely well-priced! We will definitely be back every school holidays.

Had delicious. well cooked and hot meals on a weekday lunch time. There were loads of customers, most were also eating meals. The only bar staff member (Sam) worked heroically and efficiently and was friendly and good humoured. All in all a very enjoyable experience and I am happy to recommend.

Got a £100 parking fine for parking in the car park. I’m pretty observant but didn’t realise you had to pay nor did anybody tell me in the pub and it was quiet. I’ve since tried ringing the pub but nobody answers the phone

“I recently visited this fantastic pub while in the area on business from Durham. It’s refreshing to find a place that serves proper pub grub, especially when so many others only offer fancy finger foods that leave you hungry. The food here was excellent value for money—I enjoyed a Fosters shandy and a delicious slice of pie with chips, peas, and gravy. Absolutely amazing! The staff were lovely, welcoming, and truly an asset to the business. I look forward to returning in January 2025 when I’m back in the area. Thank you for a great experience!”

Food was good value except a for a no peas situation. Told when the meals arrived. Disappointed with the extravagant drinks prices. A pint & two apple juices , ( cartoon juice with loads of ice.) £13 plus. Once bitten. T.Pinnegar. Response : A politicians answer, not answering the question. I know the beer in question is high end. The problem was the 2 soft drinks & the price plus no apology for an incomplete food order. Hey ho .

To say I had a terrible time would be an understatement. Firstly the manager was very abrupt with us from get go. A family member attempted to order soup and was denied with no reason other than it was only available Monday to Friday on the seniors menu. No problem took a look at the menu and the gluten free menu and I see the soup. I go back to the bar ask for the soup from the gluten free menu. I was shocked at the level of rudeness from the manager. Talking at me, telling me that dish was only available Monday to Friday. I stood my ground stating I was ordering from the gluten free menu which is available u days a week. I was horrified to be turned down for a second time despite the item showing on another menu. I proceeded to wait for my other dishes then thought I would see if I could order the item on the app and I was able to. Then after a stern word from the manager again I was issued a refund. After a brief chat with my partner at the bar, she was told the item was no longer available and has been removed from the menu. Never have I experienced something so ridiculous in my life.

I came here for a quick meal and a drink, all was above board staff were friendly with a stand out from Ezra who was very welcoming food was good and with a warm atmosphere the whole experience was a delight, will definitely come again

Staff were not very attentive and weren’t clear on the ts&cs for the offers they were running. Although the vibe is good and very sociable! The food is cheap small options do reflex this however the wait does not! We ordered food at 6:30pm with and ended waiting an hour and half. When mentioned to staff about the wait they seemed un phased and didn’t offer any reassurance. Nice pub but horrific service

Every single time Ive been there on free pool days there seems to be a orivate event either in the pool room or the that closes the pub and I cant play

The car park is a joke . They have a cash machine to paid but have a camera that will send you a parking ticket 3 weeks later . You try to get in contact with them and you can only contact them by letter. Which they never replied to. This is on the pub . If they want the business then they need to sort this out.

Normally such a great pub. Went this evening for a soft drink (hence didn't bring ID) but was refused service, and didn't find the bar staff particularly nice to deal with. Shame as the staff are normally very helpful.

This a very nice place. Relaxed and quiet atmosphere even with numerous tvs and pool tables around. Good service from staff. Polite & attentive also quick to clean tables of glasses. 2for1 offers on a few beers and cocktails,which my wife said were good & quite strong.lol. The price if the food is outstandingly cheap so we expected a kind of so so meal. Not at all the quality and quantity is fantastic possibly the only rime I have not 'moaned' about some aspect of the meal. We will definitely be going back, valentines day actually as I'm a cheapskate,lol. 3drinks 2 meals and change from £25. Seriously people this place is worth checking out. Wayne and Kim. Have since returned and built my own burger, big piece of chicken chips onion rings and 3 sides, smoked bacon hash brown and an egg on a Wednesday its for £5. McDonald's bah!!!. I couldn't make this myself at that price. Wife and daughter did the same. 3 very good meals £15.

Great pub lovely place to have some food an a few drinks

Our favourite local pub. We could see how hard the staff worked during all the euros games - we really appreciated it especially when the bar was extremely packed and there were lots of people waiting. Especially the guy in the blue England football shirt collecting empties and serving food / drinks orders - lovely guy and very patient, kind and hard working. I hope they get some time off to recover! Thank you to him and everyone :)

My favourite and go-to sports pub in Guildford. The staff are always friendly, drinks are very reasonably priced and good atmosphere. Recently went for the Euros and the staff, particularly the senior colleague waiting tables, work exceptionally hard to deliver a top service.

Poorly run. Tables inside full of empty plates and glasses , and empty glasses outside. One person behind the bar and one serving food. Food is ok for the price especially burger wednesday £5 or £6 if you double up your burger. We got short changed on our hash browns the 2 weeks before , only recieved one, when the menu and web app says hash browns which is plural for more than one. When the landlady collected our plates and ask is everything was ok with the food , i mentioned thst i only recieved one hash brown, her reply was that it was a type error with the menu . But she did bring me a hash brown personally from the kitchen. Then last week my work collegue got two hash browns with his burger. So she basically lied to us about the menu. There are 3 pool tables , loads of tv's to watch sports and a large beer garden at the front. The mens toilets need a good revamp . Burger wednesday photo came with 2 hash browns.

Had a lovely meal with the family. Walk in 8 of us and were very quickly seated even though the place looked very busy. The burgers were amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and the staff couldn't have been any friendlier.

Food was OK for the price, but the service was diabolical. There was one young woman running the bar single-handed, while an older female (landlady?) was more interested in having a drink than serving any customers. On ordering food we were told that my choice of mac & cheese would take 30 minutes but we agreed to wait. Almost an hour later our food finally arrived. My husband had ordered scampi and chips without peas, but his request was ignored and also the chips were nearly cold. My food was OK but I did wonder why it had taken so long to microwave a supermarket basic ready meal. The garlic bread was burnt on one side and soggy on the other. However, we feared that if we sent any of it back we would be waiting another hour. In the meantime, people who had arrived after us had finished their meals and left. We waited a further 20 minutes for dessert - apple pie was served with ice cream instead of custard which was requested, but by then we were pushed for time so didn't flag it up. The pub wasn't exactly busy and I can understand why - if it had been, we'd have been driving home in the dark! As it was, we arrived just after one o'clock and finally left at nearly four. We will not be going again.

Got rid of there best chefs. This pub is going to go majorly down hill again now! with trainee chefs with no experience with food. Shame. Roast dinners are awful now, and the food standards has dropped massively. Manager should be worried about his job

Food was absolutely dreadful. All overcooked if not microwaved. Very disappointing. Full of under age drinkers. Avoid.

Ordered drinks online that never arrived so had to chase after 45mins. Upon food order was told about a 35 min wait. The pub was quiet considering it was a Sunday and still waited over an hour for food. Burgers were good and kids a good value but the roast dinner was really not good. Also didn’t listen to food request made (removing item) which I usually wouldn’t be as bothered about but nothing seemed to go right. Good prices but not when the food seemed inedible. Other tables around us complained on the wait time for drinks and others spoke directly with owner so clearly lots of people felt that way. Men’s toilets weren’t in good condition and for a family friendly pub, there was no baby changing despite advertising to say there is and had to change my child on the floor.

Went for lunch. Coffee machine was out of order, again, and food for four people took 45 minutes to start being served and another 45 minutes from the first dish being served to the final dish being brought out. Used to be a convenient place to meet up with old friends but we shan't be returning.

Around a month ago I witnessed racist verbal abuse towards a bartender working at the wooden bridge she was a young black girl and when the manger got told who was off duty drinking she then proceeded to have a drink with the culprit and didn’t side with her co worker I thought this incident would have got sorted out but when I came in to visit the wooden bridge again she was still working! I am a manger of my own company and I found this behaviour disgusting towards and would never let anything like this happen!!

Amazing place to watch the premier league matches but this time it was the FA cup semifinal and it was amazing as usually with high rise chairs , good portion of chips and 2 pint of san miguel did the trick for us.

We Come here whenever me and my partner visit his mum in Guildford. Got served nearly all our drinks by Tia and Ollie and as a worker in a pub aswell I know how stressful a busy Friday night can be but these two were such wonderful workers. We were out for our anniversary and they honestly have been the ABSOLUTE BEST serves I’ve ever met. Thank you guys for your service tonight ! Definitely will come back if these two are working !

I've been going here for a few years and this needs to happen for this place to really excel, because it can, has lots of potential but is lacking in certain areas: - When there's football/Rugby on, OMG please add extra staff - Food wise I dunno really, very hit and miss - Men's toilets to the right of the main bar, THE MOLD HAS MOLD, sort it out, rip it out, I don't care. But that stuff isn't healthy regardless of how long you are staying in there for!!!! - Water and mold damage to the walls and ceilings needs sorting out, no excuse. - Also goes for some of the furnishings, the backs of the main seating areas are practically ripped/cut and its not pleasant to feel bare sponge while enjoying a beer. - I'd love top see some NFL/Super bowl here as well

I ordered 2 portions of chips and chicken goujons for my child and 17 year old, I was told they would both have to be adult sizes I was charged €42 for both, extremely over priced for the size of the portions

Best pub in Guildford. Go here every Friday possible a Thursday as well. Never disappoints good pints, decent food and the bar staff know my order what more can you want? Honestly the best pub in Guildford. If your not coming down your honestly missing out. Kebab next door decent as well.
