The best restaurants in Gosport South East

Absolutely disgusting 🤢 4 of us had food from here 2 being children. myself and my son had a burger & chips with lettuce and mayo 🤢 the picture shows the horror of lettuce they gave myself and my son it's absolutely disgusting and pretty much rotton and luckily neither of us ate it! Both of The burger buns were rock solid you could literally build a house with it! VILE VILE VILE AVOID!!!!! AVOID!!!!! AVOID!!!!!

Been here more times than I can count and Lilly the bartender is the star of the show and in my opinion deserves a pay raise… She roasted my drink order, rolled her eyes at my “girl dinner” of fries, and still made me laugh so hard I snorted. Honestly, I think that’s just his love language: sarcasm and gin. If you’re into emotional whiplash and damage, dry humor, and imperfectly balanced cocktails with a side of existential judgment—this is your girl. Will 100% return, just maybe with a tougher ego and a tip ready for the emotional labor. And don’t expect to get a table… those are reserved for absolutely no one at all, you’re just not allowed to make a mess that requires cleaning.

Lovely quality food at a fair price with lovely service and what a great view too across the solent with a good car park across the road.

A hidden gem… not from Gosport, but will definitely be visiting again on our next trip down! Both the service and food exceptional! The cod and chips were sooo good. The cost was fantastic for four of us and very unusual to feed a family at this great value! Cracking little fish and chip shop with loads of charm… 👌🏻👍🏻

Had a half BBQ chicken and large chips from here for takeaway and only 7 quid! It was really decent I must say. The chicken was marinaded and seasoned really well, and was great quality, really tasty. And the chips, well, they really were top notch. Fluffy, crispy, not greasy and clean oil taste. Really nice! Would highly recommend, and I'm even gonna grab one tonight. Full marks. (The pic only shows a handfull of the chips, portion was big)

When I was born my family lived in North End, Portsmouth. As was often the case in those days, I was actually born in a Nursing Home in Southsea. Although we soon moved away to outer London (Raynes Park and Motspur Park) I eventually returned to the south. Gwen, my lady friend, lives in Lee on the Solent, so, over the last few months, I have been renewing my acquaintanceship with the whole, Portsmouth, Gosport, Fareham area. Yesterday, Gwen had top visit her bank which is in the high street, Gosport. Whilst in the bank we were talking to a couple of the staff and one recommended a nearby cafe. Kate’s Vinyl Bar & Kitchen. It was literally a few steps away. As many will know, I love my coffee… and cake and am always ready to try somewhere new. The reason for the name of the cafe soon became apparent. The style and decor is a mix of 70’s and 80’s club, disco. There is a large selection of old vinyl records and an old style turntable on the end of the bar. Customers can select and play the records of their choice. The bar is long and made of wood. For a small, high street cafe, it carries an impressive range of draft beers. Including a couple of unusual lagers. For example Ashai Japanese lager and Grolsch. We seated ourselves on a small, low sofa near the window and ordered. A small latte for me and a mint chocolate for Gwen. To go with these delights Gwen ordered some sort of sponge cake slice whilst I went for one named after a famous brand of champagne! The cakes and the drinks were excellent… which is why I find myself back here today, awaiting my lady, who, is off doing a little shopping. Now, the one thing I have not mentioned is the staff. Many cafes and restaurants , can be made or broken by their staff. In this case the owners have made some great choices. The staff that we have met so far, have been excellent. On the ball, quick to take orders and very quick to serve these orders to your table. For those of us who need to know these things… the toilets are clean and easy to access. Today is a Friday at about 10:30 and just about every table is full. Proof enough of the quality of this little gem. 😁
