Best kept secret in Gosport. Fantastic food, one of the best full English breakfasts I've had, ever.

Calm, friendly and efficient staff. Instantly served hot drinks 3 of us ate paninis sandwiches and a cheese burger Food arrived in less than 10 mins despite the cafe being 3/4 full!!!! Food was tasty and filling Massive well done, Thankyou to the penguin cafe, you made our day trip all the more worth while

We went for an afternoon walk along the Lee on the Solent sea front today and popes into the penguin for a well needed cold drink. Service was on the slow side which was surprising as the cafe wasn’t busy. We ordered 2 x cold bottled drinks and when they brought them to the counter we asked for glasses and ice, the short and curt response was “WE DONT HAVE ICE”. Certainly won’t be going back anytime soon, shame really the cafe is well positioned on the sea front and should be a go to place. Maybe we caught them on an off day but it seemed that as we ordered drinks they couldn’t be bothered with us 😞

First time I have used this cafe. Service was good, the panni and chips were tasty. The prices seem cheaper than 2 doors down so will be using this again.

excellent choices of food, and good value. Very clean. Staff were indeed ambassadors , poite and helpfull. After our lunch we had a "mandatory" icecream in cone to take away !

Came for ice-cream with my family and sat outside. Unfortunately the weather changed so we moved inside as we had a young baby with us. The lady behind the counter just glared at us like it was an issue we had moved inside after spending £18 on ice cream. The place is also not pram friendly at all! I had to move chairs just to get to a table and the lady just continued to glare at us. I've come here many times for ice-cream but not sure I'll be coming back! Shocking customer service!

This cafe is on the front of Lee on Solent is exceptionally excellent The menu is variable from all-day breakfast salads, ploughman's bake potatoes All the products are fresh, tasty staff are friendly and listen to what you want . I have had a prawn bake potato that was tasty not too covered in sauce I have had a wonderful ploughman's with brie cheddar crips pickle and pickle onions and warm crusty bread amazing Also, a mug of coffee is a very reasonable price Thank you, Penguin Cafe

We've been here a few times for breakfast, and it's always a good breakfast, hot and not a long wait time.

Delicious oriental ginger for me & G'daughter's fave vanilla + flake eaten whilst walking along the beach. Happy memories of when I lived locally 13yrs ago.

I love to walk along the Lee-on-Solent promenade on a cold blustery winters’ day… and there is no better place to warm up than the Penguin café. Sometimes a coffee and cake hits the mark after a walk and others a warm meal. The Penguin can cater for both. The quality of the food is excellent, and the staff are always friendly. There is ample parking across the road. While the standards remain the same, I will continue to visit regularly.

So my parents have been frequenting this cafe for many years. However when they went today they were not impressed. You would expect price hikes given the current climate but now teas and coffees are not included in the breakfast menu. And after spending £70 on breakfast for themselves and a few family members when my father asked if he could just have a marmalade (in order to finish of his breakfast toast) he was rather rudely snapped at and asked to go to the back of the (long) queue and barked at that he would have to pay for this. That’s really not kind (he’s a pensioner to boot) and quite a harsh way to speak to customers. After 10 years of great service what has gone wrong?!?!?!,!

A wonderfully pleasant experience, we ordered breakfast for a group of 7 on a busy day. Service was impressively fast considering the size of the order and how busy the cafe was. I enjoyed the food although marmalade could come free.

First time here, had a lovely breakfast, very well cooked and hot. Very tasty ingredients and great drinks. My cappuccino had a dusting of chocolate in the shape of a penguin, such a special touch. Lovely friendly staff and very clean and tidy with a lovely view of the Solent. Dog friendly as well. Outside seating as well.

It is as they say, what it says on the can. Well priced, decent food in a quite basic but clean setting. If you want good value try it. Oh! Try the multi coloured icecream. An experience in its own right!

It was all good..we had coffee and cake which was a shade over 15 quid for the two of us ...the cake was huge!

What a lovely cafe! I was taken back to find it so busy on a Friday afternoon but when I saw the great choices of baked goods, the affordable breakfast menu behind the counter accompanied by the smiling faces there too. Well it made perfect sense! Me and my friend enjoyed some delicious treats and drinks and even had some friendly chatter to the people next to us, being dog friendly too is a huge bonus to me! I'll be returning that's for sure for another earl grey and delicious cherry bun.

Normally try somewhere different for breakfast each week and this week was the Penguin cafe. The cafe had a really nice atmosphere, staff were great, food served quickly and great quality. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely home made cakes, generous portions. Coffee was really nice. Main menu and specials looked tempting, and adjacent tables' food all looked really nice. Internet was limited; too many people trying to log on concurrently. Good location opposite the promenade. Traditional British seaside front and cafe. Very busy on a New Year's Eve afternoon.

I've been here for 15 years and always makes the best breakfast. shame about price of the emperor breakfast going from just under £10 to £13 now but its worth it

The review that says “the finest cafe anywhere in the gosport-fareham-lee area” perhaps tells you more about the cafes in the area than the cafe itself. The penguin chocolate sprinkles on the cappuccino are nice, the misadvertising of prices less so. Food good.

My sister visits here quite regularly so it was a nice treat from her to bring me here for breakfast. Food was great came out hot and coffee was excellent. The view across the sea was lovely too

Great service and great 'big breakfast'! Only switched to the Penguin recently but so far so good. Food all cooked fresh and team happy to switch items to make sure you get what you need! Enjoying the atmosphere and great service!

Just happened to be passing on a very wet Sunday afternoon. Stopped for a cup of tea and got drawn in by the delicious looking homemade cakes! They did not disappoint and nor did the tea, best cuppa I have had in a long long time

Penguin cafe is the place to go for breakfast and bacon butties. If the weather is nice sit outside and soak up the sun. Been coming here for years and always stop off on a bike ride. Rocky road is good! Staff are always friendly and helpful even when I walk in like a drowned rat when it's raining.

About 4 or 5 different breakfast all day long BRILLENT prices ,and you can take your 🐕 in .

Quirky seafront cafe. A must for Penguin lovers. Dog friendly, seating inside and out. Happy helpful staff and tasty home style food. The breakfasts are excellent. If you’re having a cuppa don’t forget to have a generous slice of homemade cake. Delicious.

Fairly standard place if you want a old school breakfast, nice selection of different amounts and prices to suit all budgets, staff friendly and helpful, little bit cramped for space, but would go again.

Opted for the Penguin breakfast, I had tea, my partner had coffee. We got there just as they'd opened and I'm glad we did. It quickly became busy. The breakfast was lovely, served in good time. Every time we've been here it's busy, and that's always a good sign! We'll be back, as the staff are great, service is prompt and the breakfast is always good!

This is our favourite place to take our dog. Lovely friendly cafe with good basic food. Very dog friendly and after a long walk Buddy likes nothing more than to settle down to a 'dog sausage'.

All day breakfast was ok..nothing special. More concerned about lack of hand hygiene. Several customers came in to purchase ice cream cones. Servers handled money ( mostly coins) and immediately picked up cornets to fill with ice cream without washing hands. No more ice cream from The Penguin for my family & I.

We come here for one of the English breakfast choices quite regularly. Food is good. The chef there is one of the few that can cook a fried egg to my liking i.e. the white cooked and the yolk runny. Uncooked white makes me heave. .

Pretty sure i come here like every week because I addicted to the baps. The coffee is lovely too. Most of my money goes here and I am not ashamed. Great staff and I like penguins. 🐧👍🏼😝

Great service, lovely food and friendly atmosphere

Our family have always driven to eat at the Penguin cafe, however we were so disappointed with the breakfast today, we won't return. Our eggs were hard and crispy, my tomatoes were tinned, but husbands saute potatoes were not sauted enough. The staff were really miserable! So disappointing.

The food is always great and the staff are friendly, particularly the Mexican chef. Well worth a visit.

Was recommended to try this place by my cousin who said the posh breakfast was great and he's not wrong came down by motorcycle and the posh breakfast was lovely+ a latte definitely value for money and better than some other places I've been to will definitely return

Lovely cute and quirky cafe with a real penguin theme! I had a bacon roll which was lovely, my Mum had scrambled egg on toast. Cakes looked nice so would be nice to return and try. Service was friendly and not at all flustered considering how busy it was. Recommend and would return.
