We had a full English breakfast here in October 2024. It was very tasty and filling. The place is clean and tidy, I recommend it to everyone.

Food orders were wrong, tables not wiped clean until prompted despite 3 visits, food was satisfactory but nothing worthy of a 4 star rating.

We go here for breakfast every week. Food and price are excellent, real value for money. We go so often that the owner starts our breakfast as soon as we arrive. Never get tired of this place and feel outraged when it’s closed for holidays. Staff are always extremely pleasant and jelpful

Clean Friendly Atmosphere with meals cooked to order by a competent cook. Service is fast and the food is a described. A good reasonably priced menu typically British Seaside fare. Having found the Solent Restaurant will be returning regularly the footfall makes you realise that it is no longer Lee on the Solent residents best kept secret!

Our second visit to this cafe and more disappointed than the first so won't be returning sorry to say. The place, atmosphere was fine and the staff were warm, welcoming and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Pot of tea was ok too - not like some of the cafes where tea is like dishwater!! We had a full English breakfast and most items were swimming in grease, esp the eggs and mushrooms. The hash browns were overcooked and my tomato was burnt on the bottom and my bacon was cremated - it was like eating charcoal!! Not sure if there was an option to have a grilled breakfast - with hindsight I probably should have adsked. Plenty of more eateries to visit in the area.

Food was okay, and the location in a side road meant it was not fab but it was clean and the staff were very friendly. In response to owners request: The food was 'okay', above average, standard fare for a small seaside cafe. The staff were the best element of our visit, but to very honest it wasn't somewhere that would top of my list to visit again. It lacks atmosphere which is what I enjoy in a venue, that's just my opinion freely given and easily ignored if needed. I wish you well for the future.

All good never had any problem with the food

OK…not fine dining but a really warm welcome for half a dozen sweaty and excited runners. Free chilled water, lovely coffee, teapots and China cups & saucers went down well too PLUS speedy service. Will definitely be back with more of the Absolute 5️⃣4️⃣5️⃣ RunClub gang. Thanks for a top service.

We had the so called fish it was burnt to a crisp all day breakfast not up to much coffee was cold not a nice place

had all day breakfast. food good, except for awful sausages, partner had chicken kiev, mediocre at best. staff/service efficient, but unfriendly/unwelcoming overall good value for the reasonable prices.

I am really fussy about sausages and these ones are perfect, in fact it's all perfect. The staff are pleasant and the food is good what more could you ask for

So this cafe/Restaurant moved from bottom of High Street to Its new location opposite Tesco a few years ago & I can see why it’s doing so well,I’ve tried the rest in Lee & this place has the best Value for money Breaky & wouldn’t consider going anywhere else so if your in Lee it’s a real Must.. Amazing Chunky Bacon,fluffy crispy Hash Brown & Freshly Chopped Mushrooms What more could you ask for.. Staff are friendly & the chef cooks everything fresh.. 6 Stars out of 5 Thank You..

With friends called in for coffee had a toasted tea cake which were delivered cold Coffee great service great think I was over charged Very clean except the crumbs from the table all went on to the chair cushion Can’t fault the choice the prices plus the service I should have made them aware if the cold tea cakes

A lovely breakfast served by professional and friendly staff in a bright and clean cafe and I definitely recommend a visit.

Came here a few weeks ago with my partner as the usual cafe we visit was closed but are so glad we found this place. We served by the two loveliest and friendly men which really made the visit for us. The portion sizes are really good for the price and the food was very delicious. Will definitely visit again in the future

We visited the Solent Cafe for our usual breakfast. I was disappointed and concerned that no covid precautions were in place.Tables too close together, nobody took our details and no members of staff wore masks. I felt most uncomfortable at the complacency. I'm afraid we won't be visiting again.

Popped in for a cuppa, stayed for lunch. What can I say! An absolutely lovely lunch and impressive portions. Food was hot and staff and customers very friendly. Have been back a few times now being our favourite cafe. Thank you solent cafe XX💜😊👍

Always enjoy my visits and the food is cheap but basic. However, do not appear to be taking much notice of covid-19 eat out rulings. Do not ask for name and contact number, same menus passed from person to person. Sauce bottles are left on the tables and the tables are still close together.

Just been to the restaurant had a great lunch was spoilt as it is my birthday and i was given flowers and when my pudding came out there was a candle and they sang happy birthday. If you want great service and fantastic food this is the place to go.

Just off the sea front on Pier Street the Solent Restaurant lunch was just what we needed on a winter's day. Our hot drinks were served very quickly and our food was soon served, most of the tables were occupied and the restaurant was quite busy so we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our food arrived. The food was really good and great value. We had hot sandwiches and I had a soup. We will certainly be visiting the Solent Restaurant again and probably have a full meal next time we go there.

We visited on the 16th November and were served by this fantastic young waitress called Freya. She was so welcoming and accommodating to our requests, plus the service was extremely quick so we were able to get our meal fast which was important as my husband is a fat man who loves his food. 10/10 would recommend.

On the spur of the moment to Lee-on-the-Solent. Very clean and tidy with a friendly, but unobtrusive, welcome. Food freshly cooked, and served by pleasant, smart ladies. Price was good. Will definately return.

I have eaten here several times. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly. They do an amazing roast at the weekends. I have a breakfast there regularly and the fried eye is alway perfect

My partner and myself called in for breakfast . Very friendly waitress and nice clean and bright restaurant , But the breakfast was a bit of a disappointment mine was just ok cheap sausages which were not very nice tasting ! But my partners plate was swimming in grease from the eggs which leaked into the beans which did not look very appetising at all And left him with not a good feeling in his stomach for the rest of the day so needless to say we wont be returning

Have only recently started using this cafe, it is great, welcoming staff, tasty food, well priced. Can't go wrong.

We try and come to this cafe at least once a month for a Sunday English Breakfast. It is definitely the best breakfast we've had. The bacon and eggs are so tasty, right size portion too. Cant wait to return to this great friendly cafe. Amazing value for money.

Lovely food friendly staff and not too expensive

We intended to go to our usual tea room in Lee but didn’t realise that it didn’t open until 10am. As it was 9.30am and we wanted breakfast, we looked for somewhere else. We found the Solent Restaurant. I admit that I wasn’t expecting great things but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are happy, friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was hot, freshly cooked and plentiful. The coffee was the best I have tasted in a while. I am happy to recommend to others and will definitely return.

Cleanliness: The toilets for gentlemen were very well cleaned. Staff: Polite. Portions: Satisfactory. Environment: Home style. Location: Nice for beach walking, especially when the weather is sunny.

Chips were not nice at all and when i notified staff about alot of my sons chips had spouting eyes on and burnt she just asked if i would like them taken away no apology or offer of a refund

Just happened to pass here and smelled the bacon. Decided to pop in for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Really nice cooked breakfast with a good portion size. To make it even better, it was really cheap. Feeling hungry and only got a few quid in your pocket. This is the place. When I went there. Lots of families, couples and retired people. Speaks for itself. Excellent.
