Peels Chippy in Gosport

I'm really surprised at the low ratings on here! I chose delivery, my food was beautiful, hot, fresh and the portion sizes were great. And delivered in under 30 minutes! My first time using this fish and chip shop and I will definitely be going to them again. Highly recommended

Been 5or6 times now. Food always quality. Great service . Portions good. Friendly staff always welcoming. Love this place. Would recommend. My go to fish& chip shop.

First time and definitely the last how disappointing oil on chips was dirty and tasted very off no lemon on fish like it shows you in photo they’ve got all the gear but no idea worth going ten minutes to Stubbington or Lee on solent shame but waste of money

I bought an OAP fish & chips. I found it to be very unpalatable. The chips were ok,but the fish was very dry. Apart from being very little. It seemed as though it had been sat on the shelf for a while.

The chips are insipid, they were cold and dried out, this made them greasy and inedible. Definitely not fresh!!! The 'large' cod was definitely not large and was overcooked. A total waste of money.

Less chips then I was expecting but overall very nice. Definitely will be having again

Fabulous Fish and chips great to find a really good chippy these days. Staff are great especially the young girl behind counter who was super helpful and friendly.

When it was Peel Chippy the food & service was great... Now that is has reopened under new ownership & been renamed REIS Fish & Chips the food is awful & the service no better. First impressions were ok, the shop itself looked great after a refurbishment, clean & modern... BUT on to the important bit, the food. The chips I ordered were stale tasting & dry, at a guess I would say they had been re-heated, looked very un-appealing! I have been to enough chips shops over the years to know that a large chips is usually a decent family size portion that can be shared. The large chips at £4.40 were in a small tray that was half filled! Smaller than a small portion, the only plus was my sons reaction when we opened them, he found it amusing. The £4.40 was money well spent for comedy alone but I WONT be returning. 1 star is generous & was only given due to there being no option for ZERO stars. I would NOT recommend 👎

First visit and definitely the last!! As others have said small portions, cod was over cooked and tasteless, more batter than fish only had 1 mouthfall as that bad. Scampi cold and over cooked looked like Iceland scampi mainly batter. Chips looked like yesterday’s chips, left in oil overnight and re-heated!!! Waste of money as going in the bin

If I could leave zero stars I would. Order £56.00 worth of food as I had family up. The portion sizes wouldn't even feed a child I was shocked , disappointed and disgusted. The Savaloys were hard and cold. The fish had a pink tinge to it and tasted strange. It was not edible at all. On phoning the shop I got a very rude man basically telling me tough. I offered to take it back round and he just kept saying no it's wasn't his problem and calling me darling. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!!

Charged for a fishcake I never received in my food items bag. Sad about this as had done a 12 hour shift in health and social care, was very tired and did not realise until I got home it was not there (I'm not in the habit to check takeaway orders when collecting). It was not busy when we bought it, only people in shop. Now near 3 quid down for something I didn't receive, so won't be hurrying back. Rating for food only 2 as going on the chips alone as the rest was not there!

Regular users of "Peels Chippy" so thought we would give the new "Reis" one a try. The guy was nice and polite, and didn't mind waiting 20 minutes for our order. We got to the beach, opened up our food and was amazed at how small the portion of chips were. The girls saveloys were hard and cold which didn't go down well with them. Battered sausage was really greasy (my fingers were drenched in oil). Fishcakes were nice as was the curry sauce but really disappointed with the food quality and portion size. We wasted £20 here and had to buy the girls something from somewhere else. Will not be returning sadly.

Looks the part as it’s brand new but unfortunately it’s NOT traditional fish and chips as advertised! They are frozen! I paid 4.40 for a large chips and a small portion of stale frozen chips was what we opened up in a box. They taste awful like fried in old oil. Will not be returning

Asked for lightly battered fish but it wasn't and very greasy. Chips were definitely not cooked fresh, first and last time going here

I'm sorry to write this because I've been going here years but the chips tonight were horrendous, anemic and tasteless, very crunchy almost like they've been cooked earlier and warmed up. Battered sausage was again tasteless. Curry sauce was the only normal nice taste and consistency. Very poor show for what was £11.70!

I wouldn’t even give one star except you have to. We ordered at 5:40pm and don’t receive our food until 6:25. We watched them give our food away to others who ordered after us just because our full order wasn’t ready. And then there was absolutely now apology for the wait. Won’t be going back - what a waste of our evening!

The normal chippy grub with several homemade variations available. As the food is home made, specific dietary requirements can be requested. Staff are very knowledgeable and very helpful.

Friendly staff, good variety of meals, food cooked to order and fairly priced. I have used them for about 10 years and highly recommend them.

One of the best chippys in Gosport, lovely food with great choice from homemade food and there mash option, a must too give a try.

He tenido el pescado y patatas fritas de exfoliaciones Chippy varias veces antes descubrí tres locales muy buena en el Solent en Lee. De hecho, son mucho mejor parece mereciera la pena viajar allí de Peel Común en vez de caminar por la calle al 'Descamativa'! Siempre he encontrado el bateador muy gruesas y champán en el pescado hasta el grado que usted piensa que el filete es más grande de lo que realmente es, una vez que has cortado a través de ella. He probado las tartas y la bollería es siempre suave. . . . . Hacer que ellos. microondas? Que se de cuenta. Sin duda, no pensamos volver.

You will not find better Fish and Chips in this area than this little gem of a place. Superb, from the quality of the food to the service and the staff.

Freshly cooked fish and chips, with mushy pea's were amazing. There is also home cooked chilli, and fish cake's as well as a selection of vegetarian foods. The staff are courteous and polite and are always willing to help.

Just standard fish and chips. Considering my fish was cooked fresh for me it was very dry. Definitely rather go to Bridgemary Finests!

Es una pena como comida recién hecha y esperamos todos 10-15 mente a mi no me importó, ya estaría bien. De tamaño mediano y patatas fritas pescado bacalao era muy pequeña y la piel gruesa de pescado podía comer. Las patatas fritas eran bastante agradables. .. es una pena, ya que no es tan bueno como Karen son solla en Lee sigue siendo el mejor... es una pena realmente como chicas muy educado trabajando allí..

This is an excellent take away fish & chip shop. Most food is cooked to order and their prices are reasonable. Longer opening hours would be good.

This little chippy tucked away in the precinct off carrisbook road is an absolute gem of a place. The staff are attentive (and pretty, apart from the bald headed bloke lol) and give generous portions which are well cooked and presented properly. There is a lot of choice of items to choose from all all of which are freshly cooked. Give it a try I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Excellent service from friendly staffHad 2 large cod which were large and 2 small chips which were large, not complaining.The fish & chips were freshly cook and to a very high standard i would go to say the best in the area without doubt.
