Lovely cafe with a great garden area. The food is limited and I had an English breakfast was OK nothing special. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly. It's also dog friendly.
It was £15 for 3 courses, what can you expect, but seriously it was even worse that you could imagine! Buffet style, self service, we had supposedly leek & potato soup like dish water packet soup, never been near an leek or a potato, leather pork chops, yellow veg curry, frozen soggy mixed veg and clumpy white rice, no potatoes were main course options. Desert was some kind of apple cake or a bright pink cheesecake, no cream, custard or ice cream, so very dry. Everything was tasteless, but I guess it filled a whole

Top place. Top chicken. Top brothers. The two guys that run this are amazing. Even delivered to my granny when I was on holiday. Respectful, polite and helpful. Thanks boys
We’d been before and had a nice experience, but this time it was just awful. It was very busy so we expected to have to wait a little longer than normal, but clearly the staff were just overwhelmed by how busy it was. The large table in the window was free so we sat there. Only trouble was it was piled high with plates, cups, and left-over food from previous customers. On ordering at the counter we asked for it to be cleared when they had a moment. It became obvious that moment would never come so eventually we cleared it ourselves and dumped it all on another table. We asked for the still dirty table to be wiped but that wasn’t going to happen so we asked for a cloth and did it ourselves. We patiently waited, and waited and waited some more for our food to arrive. At some point we were informed that some of what we ordered was no longer available so we revised the order to something much simpler, and waited. Still nothing. In the meantime lots of takeaway customers arrived and left with their food.
We waited some more.
Some people at a nearby table seemed to be having a similar experience and actually gave up and got their money back. We enquired about our order more than once by the way. Eventually we got exasperated and told the staff that if they hadn’t yet started our order that we’d just get a refund and leave, only to have the member of staff doing the cooking shout at us “ don’t you want it now?” And then something about it not being her fault because the counter staff had done something wrong with the order tickets. Finally we got some food. Not what we had ordered originally but fine.
It’s close to where we live, but we won’t be back. I don’t wish the place any ill will, but there are so many other places in Eastbourne, just as good, which can cope with being busy ( a sunny Sunday afternoon in August, who’d have thought ) to have to put up with this.
Order a lamb kabab and they delivered donor I don’t even like donor so I rang them and they told me donor is lamb and they told me it’s my fault for ordering it wrong.. donor is processed meat.. lamb is lamb end off!! The attitude was rude donor greasy
The pizza is undersized. There is no free dips. Ordered a normal round hawaiian pizza and it came square. The delivery was late. No juice drinks in the menu only fizzy and water. Poor effort.

You will wait a very long time for your order, even a simple cup of coffee - even longer still if it's busy. A cooked breakfast takes on average at least 40 - 45 minutes by which time you probably need to return to work. The food is passable at best, so save yourself the bother of a visit.

Upstairs in C@H. I had a lovely slice of coffee cake and a pot of tea. Perfect for a quick pitstop. Very reasonable price. Friendly service, background music catering for trad style tearooms, but not too intrusive. Tables clean. Not at all hurried.
Unfortunately It has been a few months since we last visited. Tonight the Ashoka again showed why in our opinion it is absolutely the best Indian restaurant in the area. The service and staff were outstanding; attentive, professional and friendly as always. The food was brilliant: Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Chittinad, Chicken Passanda and King Prawn Naga were all balanced and delicious. All the accompaniments were also excellent. Thank you to all the staff in the restaurant and in the kitchen. We’ll be back soon and would recommend everyone to visit. You will not be disappointed!
