Found this place when looking for lunch after a visit to Howletts. And what a good choice it turned out to be. An excellent pint followed by a great value set lunch. All food was tasty and well presented.

Popped in for lunch yesterday, thought I’d treat my dad. Advised we had a dog said they would put us in the pool room, apparently someone had arrived previously and took our table (bit odd for a booking?). No matter the discreetly put us in the main restaurant. The pub/ restaurant is well decorated and maintained and what you’d expect of a country pub a nice environment to sit in.The starters took a while to come out but the mains followed quickly afterwards. I have to say the food was exceptional and the chef here is really top draw (I’m a bit of a foodie so I do get around a bit) I have the mussels and the duck breast the latter was cooked to perfection. The thing for me and the reason for dropping a star was I felt the front of house was lacking. There were only three tables in the main restaurant so not busy. My son wasn’t provided with a steak knife I waited a minute couldn’t see anyone so had to go to the bar, when the bill came I put my hand out to take it off of the waitress she ignored me and put it on the table (again odd) then lastly no one literally no one came to take payment….. waited ten mins and then paid at the bar on the way out.

Great little independent bakers who bake on the premises, I use them personally and for my business. Good selection of Breads, Norfolk Crunch is amazing. Good Crispy Rolls like they used to be. Sausage Rolls and Pasties but best taken home and heated up in the oven, only microwave heating available on site. Nice traditional cakes, though no fresh Cream, but great Custard and Gypsy Tarts and an epic Belgian Bun. Apple Donut and Danish Pastries are amazing. They also do Breakfast Rolls but don't really advertise this. Friendly staff but sometimes the sales process takes a little time. We all need to use places like this more!! Miles better than Supermarket Bread

Had my mums 50th birthday party here on the 20th of September, the staff were so helpful on setting up the venue and the buffet was fine beautiful, staff entertained with karaoke and music and was amazing with the children who were at the party also, would definitely recommend, great pub with lovely atmosphere ☺️

Lovely Sunday lunch today, £21 for a 3 course meal is great value and yet the food was really good too! Efficient service also worth a mention.

Went to the cowboy night and the roadhouse DJ became very aggressive with my partner because of a joke. Told us both to “f**k off” even though I had no idea what had happened he then squared up to my partner and was extremely disrespectful towards both of us. Think he needs to learn some manners when it comes to handling customers! Ruined the night and we wont be back.

We had a delicious lunch sitting in the courtyard of the restaurant. A very varied menu and friendly service. It is definitely on my list of 'go to' places for a meal out.

Will definitely return to this little gem, all our food was amazing 😃 Steak and ale pie was filled to the brim with meat. lasagna was very tasty. Salmon was perfectly cooked. cheese burger was succulent and delicious. The children’s menu was basic but perfect for our little one. We even tried the deserts and they did not disappoint.

A wonderful historic pub in a beautiful setting. We visited with 17 of us for a birthday celebration. The meal was on a Sunday and their Sunday menu had plenty of choice. The quality of the food and its presentation was of a very high standard. The welcome and service was excellent. The 85 year old birthday girl had a fabulous time! We followed up with a visit on a Thursday afternoon with at least 10 of us. Again, the staff and locals made us feel very welcome. Again, Maggie and her team were great. We cannot recommend the pub, food and staff high enough. Just marvellous!

We booked this on a friends recommendation and had the most fantastic meal here last night! Greeted by a friendly gentleman who was serving drinks and brought us food that was beautifully cooked and presented. We even came home with a doggy bag - and I have to say they were the best leftovers I’ve ever eaten! Honestly this place is an absolute gem - and we’ll be back again soon! Thank you!
