The best restaurants in Little Stour and Ashstone Dover South East

Really cute pub, with lovely fairy lights inside and a nice big garden at the back. The service is fab, friendly and helpful. Good price for the drinks and food. The food isn’t fancy, but we had a tasty big plate of scampi and chips.

Very under whelming sunday roast. 5 prawns in the prawn cocktail along with half an apple - not a combination I have tried before and not one I want to repeat. Beef clearly water bathed - no flavour with a full flabby slab of fat around the edge - seriously not required on the plate. Roast spuds tasted of fat as did the yorkshire pudding. The only flavour was in the veg but that is difficult to mess up. Not cheap ingredients which is reflected in the price of the meal - shame they are not cooked anywhere near to their best.

We stayed in The Dog with our 2 Yorkshire Terriers for a 2 night break taking advantage of the bed, breakfast and dinner package. We stayed in room 4 which was not only beautiful and comfortable but also had a Christmas tree in it which was a lovely touch. The bar area was cosy with a great choice of beers and cocktails. But the reason we choose to stay at The Dog is for the exceptional meals. We both had a 3 course meal each night and every course was not only presented beautifully but the taste and flavors were amazing. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. Well done The Dog keep up the outstanding service you provide and we look forward to our next stay.

Met friends for breakfast on Sunday 16th Feb. Shown to our table. Teas and coffees ordered and breakfast ordered. Breakfast was delivered very quick. But could have been hotter. Only disappointing problem was the grilled tomatoes served on the vine which were a battle to separate and squarted on the table. Would be better with a half grilled tomato.

Yummy food for our half term family lunch. The suet pudding was proper homemade pub grub. We also had a very generous cod and chips and a steak cooked rare, as ordered, with a highly rated pepper corn sauce. The service was friendly and professional. We look forward to visiting again.

Had a fantastic meal! Had the steak and we was told it was supplied from Preston Butchers.. guess where our next meat order is coming from! Proper dinner and fairly priced! They don't do ale on draught, but understand why. Just ask. Kids were more than welcome to play on the play equipment outside and not sure why people would say otherwise! More than enough signs saying please be respectful with regards to age appropriate. Owners more than friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us welcome Current owners been there over 12 years, must be doing something right despite the few bad reviews in my opinion . Give this place a go. You wont be disappointed.

DO NOT ORDER FROM ASH PIZZA KING! Waited an hour for our food which we never did recieve! They then cancelled our order but wouldn't refund. Then recieved a text from 'Just Eat' saying we hadn't been charged, bit we Had been charged, I will never use this organisation again, I work hard for my money and I have paid £24.50 for food I never recieved
