I have not been to the Swan for a very long time so thought it was an ideal opportunity to visit over the fathers day weekend. The meal was lovely the service very good but my only comment is we had to ask for the menu after waiting for a short time other than is it was great.

We had a fantastic experience at the Bedford Arms. From the moment we arrived, the service was spot on – warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The team really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The outdoor spaces are a real highlight – beautifully kept, spacious, and perfect for relaxing with a drink in the sunshine. The beer selection is excellent too, with a great range of well-kept ales and lagers that are clearly looked after with care. It’s rare to find a pub that combines charm, quality, and genuine hospitality so well. Whether you’re popping in for a pint, a bite to eat, or a relaxed afternoon in the garden, it’s an absolute gem. We’ll definitely be back soon – can’t recommend it enough!

I recently visited The Golden Eagle in Ashley Green with a group of friends, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was unbelievable—especially the Sunday roast, which was hands down the best I've ever had. Each dish was crafted with care, blending traditional British flavors with a modern twist. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for gathering with friends. The customer service was exceptional; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. It's clear that the team takes pride in providing top-notch service and cuisine. If you're in the Chesham area and looking for a place that offers delicious food, excellent service, and a cozy ambiance, The Golden Eagle is a must-visit. I can't wait to return!

Went for the afternoon tea for a friend's birthday. The place and surroundings are beautiful. However, the furniture and carpet are tired and stained. The service was very slow and forgetful: they were not ready for our reservation, and they sat us in a spot with one small too tall table, which meant we had to precariously balance our tea and cakes and I was unable to see my friend opposite as the cake towers were covering her face. We waited a long time for the tea to be served: we asked for skimmed milk but were given semi, asked for a cappuccino but was given a latte, had to go myself to the bar twice to ask for the tea again or get the teapot refilled as they forgot. When the cakes came, one of the cake stand was broken, which meant the cakes were leaning to one side, one macaroon had a dent made by someone's finger, the cutlery was all water stained. Service may have been affected by the wedding that was going on, and they may have been short staffed, but at a place like that, it should be expected that demands are high for weekends and management should prepare for it so that all paying guests can enjoy the experience. At £30 a person, I did not think it was worth it.
