Fantastic daily catch up with my colleagues. Great value for lunch. Fantastically tasty sandwiches and soft drink. Great selection for 0% alcoholic drink. Staff is amazing,always helpful and kind

Our experience has been much improved in the last 6 months. Staff are friendly, approachable and happy. Food quality and presentation are good. There was also only 1 item not available which is much better than in the past.

Nice place to visit, however I've noticed people complaining about the food on occasions.[My own experience is good with the food served .The staff are freindly and polite, however it often lacks staffing numbers so you could be left standing at the bar for a while.Lovely ambience inside and a nice garden _ pation are to relax outside.Would definately go back again.

Had a lovely lunch all staff were great and food was delicious. The only thing I would say is to add all dishes to the online ordering, we stumbled at the last as someone wanted something that wasn't on there and we ended up ordering at the bar anyway.

I had an excellent experience here! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the young lady who served us was both professional and enthusiastic. Despite visiting on a busy Sunday, the service was impressively fast. The place is clean and tidy, and the food? Absolutely delicious! The portions are massive, offering great value for money. It feels like a hidden gem in Chesham, and I’m genuinely surprised the overall rating is below four stars. For me, this place is highly recommended and worth a visit!

We had a most fantastic Xmas party night with my colleagues, the food was great,the atmosphere was lovely,nothing was too much,except the cocktails... but we are definitely coming back and most definitely recommend this place. Kati( asked her 3 times) was very lovely and entertaining.

We came to meet up for our pre-Christmas family gathering. The welcome was so generous and warm; thank you. The food came quickly and I so appreciated the burger. It was just the right sized portion and seasoned perfectly. Now I know why my parents are regulars.

We were served by Sophia , she was so welcoming, polite, and helpful couldn’t of asked for a better waitress, nothing was to much for her :)

The atmosphere was excellent, the premises was warm, welcoming and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Parts of our main meals was unfortunately cold, however the staff were happy to replace the cold parts for us as requested. We enjoyed the food, the quality was excellent. Staff were very lovely and attentive. Atmosphere was fab and we felt the pub was very cosy and loved the offering for the doggies! If we lived locally it would be a place to visit frequently! The burgers were delicious and I was offered a gluten free bun which wasn’t on the menu. Lovely place to visit for a drink or food!

This was a relatively last minute booking for a birthday meal. When we arrived we were quickly shown to a table and given menus, but then ignored for around 20 minutes despite staff walking past us several times. When a staff member did come over to take a drinks order, we were told that they didn’t usually offer table service in the area where we were sitting - we were not told this and I am confused as to why we were allocated to sit there when we had a meal reservation. It then took another 10-15 minutes for our drinks to be brought and for a different staff member to come to take our food order; we were then told that several items including nearly all the steaks on the menu were not available, which was disappointing and frustrating as we could have been told this when we arrived. We did find things to order and the food was good when it arrived, although we had to clear our own plates at one point and a bottle of wine we ordered was forgotten and we needed to chase it up. Ultimately the experience was a disappointment and a contrast to when we last visited this venue, and I would be hesitant to go back again despite the good food quality.

A very average pub for food. The set up is nice and modern, the staff is welcoming but the atmosphere is dull. We had a burger and a pie, good but nothing more.

I have been here to eat with my family, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The menu had many options and the decoration is lovely.

Not very busy where we turned up for something to eat.. Any way, prawn cocktail starter, followed by steak and ale pie with Mash and Peas.. The Mrs had the same. Piping hot and well presented. Apple and Cherry pie with custard now..! All good...!

Absolutely cracking pub! Proper pints, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere that feels like a hug from your nan. The Sunday roast was spot on, Yorkshire puddings the size of your head, and gravy for days. A true gem – you’d be daft not to pop in for a pint (or three). Cheers, Lads!

Really liked the place, everyone was really nice, and the food was good. I recommend the place.

Very poor experience. Booked online an hour before arriving which was accepted. We arrived and the place was about 25% full. On arrival we were informed of a 50 minute wait for food and told that online bookings are not checked regularly (not clear from the website). The person speaking seemed quite pleased to say this to us and gave the impression of wanting to get us out of there as soon as possible (family group of 6 with not young children). Very strange experience given the heavy marketing the place has been doing with discounts and mail drops. Definitely in no hurry to return here.

King Charles Pub is an absolute superstar! We had a fantastic night out with friends, and everything about the experience was top-notch. The cocktail selection was outstanding—crafted to perfection and full of variety. We also tried three of their pizzas, which were delicious and packed with flavor. The cozy, festive Christmas atmosphere made it the perfect spot for catch-ups, get-togethers, or just a wonderful evening out. If you're looking for a place that delivers on all fronts, King Charles Pub is it! Highly recommended!

I can only recommend this place, always great experience, good food and excellent service. The pub has a lovely atmosphere in a beautiful rural setting. No stress about parking as plenty of spaces. Perfect for a relaxing weekend lunch or dinner!

I visited here on a Sunday, although the restaurant was packed the food came out very quickly. I had a roast beef which was beautifully cooked and the gravy was amazing. Great service throughout and are definitely coming back. Speedy service and great food!

Came on Tuesday and had a great time we were served by Amy who was very attentive and polite, we ordered off the lunch menu and had the houmous sandwich, where we were recommended to add halloumi which made it very tasty !! Will be back soon

Came for a visit on Sunday 10th November and was served and seated quickly. Sunday roast beef was very tasty and a good portion of meat! Our waitress Kathryn was very friendly and efficient

We love coming here because it makes a warm, friendly, enjoyable environment for our grandchildren to get to know each other. The food is exactly to their tastes, especially the melting chocolate dome, and there is enough space and privacy for them to talk freely together and be expansive. Plus the 30% off mains offer, means that we can do this more often. It's easy to get to and has a very good atmosphere and decor.

Lovely food. Service was a bit slow but we didn't mind as the pub seating is cosy and comfortable. Loads of free parking which is a bonus in this day and age. Will definitely come back again.

Lovely evening at King Charles, lovely decor, efficient and friendly service by Heidi and Peter. The food was amazing (steak and ale pie, pulled pork burger, fish and chips) so good we actually shared dessert even though we were full as main course was just so good we could not resist! Would give food 10 stars if possible! The wine was also nice and they do very nice cocktails. We sat in restaurant. Also good to know they allow dogs in bar area (where you can also have food) and they have a dog food menu, treats toys and blankets etc. Will be coming back with dog next time!! A real find.💕

Our 1st time here, after driving past so often due to work we thought we'd like to try it out. Booked online and called ahead regarding taking our dog with us. Very polite and accommodating to our request. The staff were really friendly on arrival, it's a very dog friendly pub/restaurant with treats and bowls of water for them. Our meal was fab and came out quickly too... On the bar there's a cute little box signed Reading glasses! A really happy experience which we will definitely be back!!

Came a couple months ago and came again today, the service has definitely picked up, Kathryn was very attentive and was checking for when we ordered and how our food was, much better than how it was before. Ordered the spicy pepperoni pizza which was especially nice would highly recommend.

Really lovely weekday dinner. Halloumi fries were banging. Great for the dog as well with blankets, treats, toys and water. Will absolutely be back - definitely upped its game!

Excellent service from Peter and Kathryne our delightful waiter who poured me a lovely guinness and a nice mojito for my mother. The food was great, I had a pork belly burger which was melt in the mouth. Highly recommend. Definitely coming back.

We first visited on 20th September under the new name .( Having previously visited several times over a period of time years ago when each visit was not good) The visit was good so we booked the family in for 4th October which was also good so we will be back again.

Food was better than expected as I NEVER would usually order a roast dinner as they're usually a disappointment, but the trio I ordered was lovely, although it could have been hotter. My sister and dad also enjoyed theirs. We had a long wait for a simple side order of chips my husband ordered with his pizza as well as beef dripping sauce, although they were lovely when they eventually came. The pizza was incredibly dry, but my husband likes it like that. All the puds we had were lovely, I would suggest on the Choc Brownie Sundae that you do, the brownie pieces would be nicer if served warm & another piece of it would have been better, but overall food was very nice and all our starters were lovely. Service whilst friendly was a bit slow, at one point I went to the bar myself to get two more drinks as no-one was attentive enough.

Five senior citizens enjoyed a very nice lunch here last week. We were welcomed and served by lovely Amy, who looked after us very well. Good choices on the menu, served attractively, and enjoyed by all. Very pleasant surroundings and comfortable seating.

Really nice place, loads of parking and outdoor seating - amazing during sunny days. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. Food takes a bit longer during busy times but it's very tasty.

This is my favourite pub, I come perhaps 30 times a year. The food is outstanding and they are very dog (and human) friendly, with water bowls in plentiful supply which can be taken to each table, and a separate dog menu. Dogs are allowed inside in the large bar area. The ambience is excellent. There is a large garden which when the weather is nice is very pleasant. There is a good choice of nice ales. I have never actually had a bad meal here yet.

It wasn't to busy but enough to keep the staff busy the service was excellent the food was great I had steak was cooked perfectly was very clean inside and outside plenty of parking highly recommended

Live nearby haven't visited for some time but popped in,like inside and garden,service was ok,however food was expensive ,special fish dish was £22 and kebab was dry and not worth the price,total cost including 2 soft drinks was £50 for 2,need to decide if there offering more upmarket menue or just competing with other pub/restaurants in area which there is a big choice
