Had the most amazing experience here. Hubby took me here as it was part of our anniversary celebration, and when we arrived I wasn’t impressed much. It looked like a house. But was I proved wrong! An amazing meal, warm and welcoming service and atmosphere. I ordered garlic mushrooms for starters, which came in a lovely, creamy sauce and were delicious. I had grilled salmon and vegetables for mains. When I ordered I thought it wouldn’t be enough to fill me, but again I was proved wrong. There were big portions and plenty of flavour. And had a huge slice of cheesecake to finish it off. Delicious meal with a continental flair. Loved the meal and would definitely go back if in the area again.

I love this place - my husband found it a year or so ago and now it's an esential part of every trip to St Leonards. We have taken friends for drinks/small plates/wines etc. and always been a hit. Great service, friendly team. Will be back soon!

I LOVE this cafe. If I am in Petersfield for lunch, this is where you will find me, even a few days in a row! My friends and I had a delicious lunch here yesterday and they have recently changed the menu to cater to the colder weather! I will usually opt for the mixed salad bowls and my friends had the vegan chilli and the open sandwich’s. What ever you choose is delicious. The decor is cosy and boutique like, the staff are always friendly and efficient! You are paying a little more than other cafes, but I think it is worth it. If you have the space, I recommend the carrot cake!

An incredible dining experience, that hasn't faltered once in our experience. Lunch and dinner menus are very well thought out with plenty of local, regional and 'grown on the grounds' produce and ingredients. We've been to this one a couple times and the Pig in the Wall, and Brockenhurst. Enjoyed the tender, fresh cod, various 'picky bits' including a pork dish (these usually deliver!) and a lovely seasonal soup (squash?) with a spicy twist. I always find it difficult to choose between the various picky bits, delicate starters and deliciously well composed mains, and haven't had a bad dessert there either. Lovely grounds around the hotel to explore too, gardens filled with cavolo nero kale, large vegetables, rhubarb and with the locational ambience of the south downs hills, a touch of forest with pheasants calling. Stunning in Autumn as it is in Summer. Went for my birthday and the staff were incredibly attentive and lots of effort to make it extra special, which I much appreciated!
