Chatters Cafe in Isle of Wight

Accidentally ended up here during a late night drive and actually walked in looking for a vegan restaurant. The waiter (Juan) was so friendly that his cheerfulness convinced me to stay and dine on the patio of the restaurant. Juan recommended their vegan option, which was a vegan wrap. IT WAS DELICIOUS. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery while sitting on the porch as the cars drove by. The music was classical and I was very relaxed while eating my meal because the ambiance was perfect. Thank you Juan for your excellent hospitality. Will definitely be back!

Such a quaint family vibe restaurant right in the heart of Houston. Good quality food, balanced portions and attentive staff!

Wow! Had dinner after many years away from Houston. This place has always had excellent food from appetizers to desserts. AND STILL DOES! Live these guys. Recommend to anyone in Houston, local or tourist.

First time here and even though they were a bit understaffed, the service was excellent. Food was pretty good too and I appreciated the diversity of offerings, not just Mediterranean. Good food with good pricing. We plan on going back someday soon!

Nice comfortable atmosphere; I really enjoyed the food (good options for vegetarians too). Service wasn't bad but wasn't as on top of getting to everyone and getting orders as well as could have been (at least when I visited), which led to some delays in the meal getting out (slightly, but enough to notice).

Amazing food and service! The stir fry bowl with beef was perfectly seasoned and very tasty. Adding peanuts and basmati rice gave this hearty dish so much texture, I was sorry I couldn't finish all of it!

Great little spot with friendly service, ample parking and yummy food. The Greek salad to start was awesome and followed it with the gyros plate which was very good and big portion.

Asef the owner is a jovial character that always regales with stories from his native Persia, or from his 30 year career as a restauranteur in Houston. I always sit in the front patio, weather permitting, and ask for my favorite dish there, linguini genovese with grilled shrimp 🍤. It comes with a complimentary salad with optional Greek dressing. Yum!

What a cool little place. We were supposed to meet at Truth next door for lunch but the line was pretty long, so we punted and ran next door to Chatter’s. I was immediately glad that we made that decision when we talked in. I’d like to find out who handles the music for this place and give them a hug. Such great ambience and perfect vibe for the place. There were a lot of options on the menu. Food was tasty and very nicely prepared. Our waitress was attentive and even picked up small things like waiting to bring my soup with my sandwich because she overheard me say it sounded good together to my friend at the table. But the best part of the whole experience came at the end and totally sold me on the place. As I was leaving they must have put on a fresh pot of coffee and it smelled amazing through the whole place. I just couldn’t leave without discovering and sampling the source of that aroma so I stopped to buy a cup on the way out. I joked with them about how they probably just brewed that coffee like that and piped it into the vents to lure all of us into buying a cup. Someone who may have been the manager or owner just laughed, agreed and told me my coffee was on the house. Talk about creating a return customer. Send them out the door with a laugh and a free cup of great coffee! This is definitely about to become a favorite hidden gem spot I bring business lunches to that make me look savvy and cool.

What a great little surprise this turned out to be. Went to a restaurant next door but the line was too long. Took a chance on this place. Chatter's is a quaint little sandwich shop with a few entrees. Been here several times and everything has been exceptional. Not a fancy place but tasteful, clean and great service during this period of awful customer service.

On a busy street across the street from a super market is a simple, casual ranch style building with terrific food. We used to go to Chatter's often. Why it fell off our list of go-to places, I don't recall. But I am glad that We went back--twice this month, Both times I ordered the grilled salmon, which tastes fresh and is served with brown rice, black beans and pico de gallo along with an assortment of mixed vegetables It is hard to find restaurants which serve the healthier brown rice.My husband had a Greek salad and then an artichoke misto dip served with carrots, celery and pita bread.The food here is mostly Mediterranean and Italian with a small selection of Asian dishes. The broad selection is both healthy and delicious.

The food was really good I will definitely be back

This was a really cute place to go. The waiter/bartender was very attentive and took good care of us, coming over often to fill my wife's water glass. I had a club sandwich with ham and turkey, I have had many club sandwiches in my day and this was right up with the best of them. My wife had a gyro and she kept saying, "mmmmmm", the whole time she was eating it. She did feel the French fries could have been cooked a few minutes longer, but other than that I would recommend this place and we plan to go back. Prices were very reasonable too!

Delicious food! The grilled chicken spinach wrap flavorful and filling. Chicken wings are amazing. My kids loved their chicken tenders and spaghetti & meatballs. My 5 year old was like, "This is so good!" It is so rare to find a place where we all enjoy the food. Awesome service. We'll be back!

One of the few places in Houston to get a good veggie burger & sweet potato fries. Fairly decent draft selection, out of everything we wanted, though. Good recz but took some coaxing. Shy waiter.

The food is very good , the salad especially and it’s sauce . You should really try the Bristo fish & chips. The costumer service is excellent and wonderful , will definitely come again!

Absolutely wonderful! We moved to Houston a few days ago and we just happened by on a Sunday afternoon on the way to get groceries. We got the Hippie Hollow and the Gyro Wrap and both were outstanding. Our server was very and friendly. We both love the atmosphere of this place. Will definitely be back!

I have ordered take out for a long while. I have never been disappointed. Food always very tasty and high quality. All employees are outstanding and very helpful. This place should he on everyone's short list of awesome places!! Highly recommend!

Part Mediterranean Bistro and part diner... the interior hasn't changed from the 90s but the soup is delicious. Other dishes are a solid 'eh - not bad'.

Food is average, service is terrible. Waited 20 minutes after we placed order and finally asked about our food since everyone around was being serve . He explained there was and 18 person order ahead of ours and brushed us of . Never checked on us after we finally got our food . Fries were limp. Salad boring, fish over cooke . Dont recommend this place at all!

Best service in Houston... period. Also best hummus. The flavor of the chicken stir fry was great, and the mimosas are the perfect ratio of champagne and juice. My husband, who hates hummus, loved it here! Will be back 👍🏻

This restaurant has been a meet up spot for several of us for awhile now. Always great food and service. Full menu and bar.

The hummus was delicious, my gyro meat was very flavorful as well as the sauce. Even the fries were cooked spot on. I highly recommend them.. it was the first time we've ever been there forever on that side of town again we will be sure to go again!

The food was good, I came with a group and then there was a mistake with the tickets I just told the girl she overcharged me a drink, she got so mad started tossing the tickets and a pens at my friends, she was so disrespectful and such a terrible person overall, sadly we didn't even know why she was so mad, beware of server Mikelle G. Even other staff mentioned that she has a terrible attitude. Hopefully the manager will talk to her he seemed nice. Overall terrible experience for my first time I probably won't come again. I hate having to pay tip for such a rude person.

We were the only people there a little after 5 pm on a Saturday. We needed a quick kid friendly spot for a quick dinner and I had heard it’s kid friendly. Staff and waiter were nice. I asked what type of fish was used in the fish ‘n chips and my server told me cod. I ordered the fish ‘n chips and 3 frozen pieces of cod arrived. Had I known the cod was frozen and tasted like fish sticks I would’ve never ordered it. But I guess I shouldn’t have ordered fish ‘n chips at a Greek spot (I’m a pescatarian). My husband had the gyro plate which he thought was good. My suggestion is to drop the fish ‘n chips from the menu- it’s not doing anyone any good.

I would agree with reviews about the food being eh-okay, maybe even average. It’s a good place to go if you are craving Mediterranean. Veggies and rice were good, but the meat was salty and dry.

Nothing fancy just Average. No flash, flair, or hipster plates. Just decent food at a regular price in a good location. Now the service, that was great. But overall still just an average place. Great for business lunches but this is not the place I would bring an out of town friend too

LOVE Chatters! Food and service is always excellent. Want to give a shout out to Joel who was our server on Friday March 22nd. He was very personable and engaging. He took very good care of us and we really appreciated it! We always look for a reason to go back to Chatters.

We’ve been going to Chatters for the last 5 years. We’ve tried every single dish, and we’ve never been disappointed. In 5 years, the service has always been good (maybe because they know us). There are other places that serve similar menu items for a lot more. Unlike most restaurants, where it’s so noisy you can’t hear your dinner companions, Chatters is quiet. It’s a no frills eatery with great food, at very reasonable prices.

***BEWARE*** Decent quality for the rate. Service was poor due to being under staffed. However, we were double charged and over-charged. Double charged for two glasses of wine when we only had one, and over-charged for the amount for it to boot. And also over charged for an entree, and again for one of its item substitutions. Additionally, over charged for the children's meal. Multiple mistakes were either on purpose increase tip amount, or complete ineptitude. However. that doesn't matter: not interested in a return attempt.

Service was exceptional as usual. Quality of food is consistant. Our server is quite entertaining with an awesome memory. We dont go there often but we almost always order the same thing with minor changes and he remembers the quirky requests we make. The ingredients are always fresh and the house vinaigrette is wonderful. Restrooms are also very clean.

Horrible experience, waited for 40 minutes for food then they say they have no romaine lettuce for the salad, then the air duct starts spitting trash out, so they changed out our drinks and we noticed lipstick on the glass so we said we are leaving so she go back to the kitchen and comes out with the other 2 meals and said that they will be compt.free. so we started to eat and my food is cold so my daughter tells the waitress and she said thats alright it was free anyways, so we left.

I'm part Syrian and and do a fair amount of cooking at this type of food at home. This food is delicious Middle Greek type fare
