The Long Bar & Grill in Guildford

If you don’t believe this review, read the rest. A pulsating bar with a top notch menu. Don’t miss the cocktail master class with the excellent Ben beforehand to get the party in the swing from the off. The subtle lighting and refreshing furnishings all lend to a terrific atmosphere. Combining the cocktails with a set menu also represents good value. Enjoy - we certainly did!

Came here to try the new menu, as a group we couldn't decide what to order - all sounded so delicious so ordered lots of starters to share which we're all great. I would especially recommend the monkfish risotto as a main. Service was also fantastic, very attentive and the wine went down a treat! Thank you the whole team, will be back soon!

Went on a Saturday evening, was very quiet, the food was ok, burger was good,short rib of beef was tender but fatty came with some mash small amount of gravy and one half of a carrot on top!We ordered chicken goujon starter to come with the other mains for our youngest as there is no children’s menu and when the mains came it was the roast chicken the staff apologised and said would sort but by the time it came about 15 minutes later the rest of us had finished our meals so youngest was sat eating on her own, with no mention of refund or discount fur the inconvenience, I also didn’t realise till after my husband had paid that we were charged £14 for two tiny sides of fries, in total it was over £150 for 4 of us and we only had mains and drink. Very expensive and two mistakes made by staff will not return.

From the nice friendly welcome to the end of the meal we enjoyed our first visit to the restaurant. My friend and I had a mocktail and they were delicious and refreshing. Our husbands had lager/ale. I ordered the goats cheese tagliatelle and it was delightfully light and delicious. My friend had the cod with a side of mash. Our husbands had a burger each and apparently they were the best burgers ever. I finished with an Affogato and my husband had the cheesecake - both yummy. The service throughout was excellent - we'll definitely return sometime.

I came here with my family who were staying in the Harbour Hotel and was so impressed. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Myles in particular was so friendly and looked after us so well. Food tasted excellent and was presented in a lovely manner. I had the Mexican Collins to drink and loved it! Will definitely be returning again 😊

We met Joy for two nights in a row and I can honestly say she is an asset to the company. Her knowledge and professionalism was outstanding. We were staying at the Harbour hotel and looked at visiting a local restaurant in Guildford, but in the end decided to stay at the hotel, and visit the Long Bar restaurant there. So glad that we did! The service right through from meet & greet, seating and waitress were all excellent - really friendly and professional. The food (we shared a burger and the beef short rib) was delicious, and very good value too. All round fantastic experience, with special thanks to our waitress Jess!

What a lovely bar this is and all the better for the warm greeting we got from the wonderful bar staff. We were shown to our table by a delightful young lady called Joy who couldn’t have been more friendly. We were then served by Tilly who was equally friendly and super helpful. A wonderful way to start an evening.

Amazing place to go, we sat in the bar all evening, was looked after by the staff who were very attentive. Food was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Making it an enjoyable and relaxing evening.

Can’t comment on the food as I visited the bar area for drinks. There is plenty of options, staff are tentative and handed out popcorn for a snack which was a nice touch. The bar and venue is lovely with a nice vibe

Myself, my partner and my daughter came for my daughters birthday meal. The food was brilliant and Lucia our waitress was so lovely. She was very helpful in finding out about the vegan options. A very lovely girl who looked after us really well. We all had a lovely evening.

Dreadful dining experience, thankfully the service provided by Nathan our waiter made up for the food. Frozen prawns sent back, bland pork dumplings, and filet steak served well done instead of medium rare. Lamb rump completely overwhelmed by mountain of red cabbage. The highlight on the food front was the scotch egg! Drinks were fine. Although twice at the bar we were given the incorrect ones initially! Won’t be returning.

Came here with some of my friends earlier in the month and felt the need to express how stunning this restauraunt is, and how great the service is! I love the ambience! My close friend arranged a table for us and we had our food and drinks order taken, and back came my Steak. Just the way I like it, cooked perfectly medium rare. We were asked if we required anything else, but the food exceeded my expectations.

Had a great time!! We stayed at Harbour hotel 6 years ago and came back for Valentine’s Day 6 years later and Joy made our time in the Long bar incredible. We had a great evening and couldn’t recommend it enough! Thank you and thank you to Joy for making it a time to remember, again!

This is a really really great restaurant and bar concept. I recently took my team of 12 for dinner which was a really great night. Myles and his team were incredibly attentive and professional and really got the balance right with the service. Drinks service was quick and discrete, the food was delicious, and the overall vibe of the restaurant is spot on. Particular shout out to the mixologists and the bar team, the cocktails are really interesting and innovative and there is loads of choice. I will certainly be planning to return with my wife later on in the month and would definitely recommend this to both corporate groups and Leisure travellers for a night out Thank you

As soon as I walked through the doors, both my wife and I felt accommodated. The location of this restauraunt is right at the top of Guildford. Very good chefs at this restauraunt, cooked to the standard that I asked for as per request by the waiter who was so friendly towards me and answered any of my questions as we went through the menu. A 10/10 experience, and would definitely come back again.

The restaurant is a great location to enjoy any occasion. The food was exceptional, the service was excellent, our waitress Ellie went out of her way to make the evening very special. Just a "wow"

We discovered this place when we realised we hadn’t eaten before going to a show at G-live The waiters were amazing. The bar staff accommodating adapting cocktails for me as I was driving. We shamefully didn’t get the names of the two (young) lads that served us but I wish I had because they were simply fantastic. Attentive without being over bearing and we overheard one of them chatting to the table next to us about the wine with the knowledge of a sommelier. The food was sublime. I had brill and my husband had cod. Both dishes were flawless and I literally licked the plate clean (he doesn’t usually eat fish so that speaks volumes!) We will return as we didn’t have time for desert so definitely coming back for the full menu. Highly highly recommend. Genuinely one of the nicest meals out we’ve had in ages. 5 🌟

Booked to see a show at G Live Guilford. Prebooked a table online for 5.30pm (earliest option) Restaurant is in The Harbour Hotel next to G Live and has it's own entance. All the staff were pleasant, and our waitress, Hannah, was clearly not only good at her job but showed a genuine interest in our day and evening, making sure all our needs were met. The food was excellent with the only disappointment being that the mixed greens in butter side dish was just cabbage and broccoli. I was expecting maybe mange tout or green beans as well. An excellent meal, in a stylish relaxed atmosphere. Good value for what you get but maybe for some, more for a special occasion.
