Best fish and chips in Brighton

This place is the best I've had in Brighton, beating Wolfies, Fillets and Nano (which used to be my favourite, but quality of cod in my last order was a letdown). The portions are generous and the cod is always nice and chunky. I will be staying loyal to Tammy's from now on as they are yet to disappoint :)

The Cod & chips were fried to order and tasted great after a day walking around Brighton. Crispy batter and well cooked but succulent white fish. Chosen based on the good reviews, and not disappointed..

Always very good customer service and delicious fish and chips. Generous portion sizes and good value for money. We visit frequently and I would certainly recommend Tammy's if you want a tasty fish and chip supper.

I ordered for 7.15 delivery. The expected time got later and later. When the order was out for delivery the system seemed to go wrong, map all over the place, showed driver as outside when they were actually 10 -15 minutes away. We are quite close but the delivery time once courier had left was much longer than expected, maybe there was another delivery happening, but we weren't told. The food was not very warm and I had to microwave most of it. I requested fish be wrapped seperatly, it wasn't,

I have been here a number of times over the years and have always had good, fresh, reasonably priced food - it's also a clean, friendly place, hence my return visits.

Very friendly, fish was freshly cooked and was delicious, but unfortunately the chips were lukewarm and dry and firm. I've never had chips like these before, I can only presume they were leftovers reheated, very unpleasant. Won't revisit, such a shame as fish was lovely and they're nearby.

First time visit to Hove, and tasted the best fish and chips ever. Great service. The chef was polite and friendly. Will definitely go back when i visit again.

Having grown up in Grimsby I am very fussy about my fish and chips, but these were lovely. The haddock and chips from Tammy’s were spot on. 👌 Good portions, reasonably priced and service with a smile too!

The best chip shop in Brighton. The guys there are nice and the food is fantastic I phone the order in and drive past two other chip shops to pick my order up.

It serves good, freshly cooked, traditional fish and chips. Good quality and generous portions. The place is clean and the pleasant, sensibly priced well worth popping in especially as parking isn't bad.

Thanks for accommodating us on our road trip. My girlfriend had her first proper fish and chips here and she loved it, if you had any idea how hard it is to get a good review out of a bloody Italian you'd try it too!

well, was quarter to 9pm and they said they are not serving food anymore although website say open till 9pm, chef told me that he need to clean. lol... so change the opening hours to 8:45pm instead of 9pm. if is till 9pm, you serve food till 9pm, and then close+clean.... I wasted my time to go there and just to heard they won't serve me food.

I read reviews before going here, look at the 1 star review guy, gave 5 for subway and 3 for Burger King because ‘it closed at 8’. People like him don’t deserve to review, let me tell you about mine. Very friendly guys, very good prices, excellent food. Rock is my favourite of all the fish, so look at that!! Sorry I forgot to take a picture as I’d started stuffing my face. Batter crispy and light, chips spot on. New fav chippy in town, I will be going a whole lot more, delicious!!!

We were visiting Brighton for the day so looked up the reviews and came here..... We have eaten Fish and Chips all over the country.....for years..... The shop is something you just drive past without much thought on a normal day.... However once you visit the place.... The fish and chip is just Magical..... its better then perfect. I cannot stop telling friends and family. Its so good the wife agrees with me for a change...lol. I cannot recommend the place high enough..... this is a no brainer..... come here and discover for yourself. You will not be disappointed. This will now be the only place to get F/C when we are visiting Brighton.... The guy is very welcoming. If I could add another start to this review we would. Wife, Me and the Son loved the food, simply the best F/C.... and you can just tell the oil is so fresh and good quality. I amin food Heaven....

Tammies is without a doubt one of the best fish and chip shops anywhere Their £5 special, available all the time. Small cod and chips. Small it is not. I have had large in other places nowhere near as big or as good quality. All made from fresh fish and fresh potatoes. I have seen deliveries so I know they are. Batter is perfect, too. I am so lucky to live nearby.

Best chippie in Brighton. Just had their plaice and chips and it was lovely. The fish was large and full of flavour and the chips tasty and very dry. We ordered during the afternoon and it was ready for collection at 6pm. Great service.

45 years of living in Brighton and today I finally tasted sausage & chips from Tammy’s. Wow what a disappointment. The chips were hard because they were overcooked as was the sausage in batter.

Was visiting outskirts of Brighton with a couple of hours to kill - searched for best rated fish & chip takeaways and this place came up - was happy to try and pleased that I did - order (scampi and small chips) was freshly cooked - took 5 or 6 minutes and was both delicious and big enough to satisfy (ten scampi pieces for £4.99 and small chips £2) - staff were lovely and helpful - the place is tiny but thoroughly recommended.

Popped in here for impromptu fish and chips under the £5 offer. Fresh chips and chunky cod! What more could you want. Excellent! Great to see businesses taking pride in what they produce.

Delicious fish and chips, cooked fresh to order. The cod was perfectly cooked, with a crispy thin batter. Homemade chips also cooked to perfection! Recommend giving them a call and pre-order for collection on busier nights. Really friendly service too, will definitely be back for more soon!
